Charles Holland Gamble
TRINITY -- Memorial services for Charles Holland Gamble, 54, of Trinity were held Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Shane Hoevelman officiating.
Mr. Gamble died Saturday, Nov. 8, at his residence in The Landing following a long illness.
He was born Oct. 26, 1939, the son of the late Rayford and Annie Holland Gamble Sr. Mr. Gamble served in the U.S. Navy and was employed as a credit finance manager for the General Electric Corporation. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his friends in The Landing including B.L. and Joe and his special friend and care-giver, Jo Ann Parker.
He was preceded in death by his second son, Carr Gamble.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Chase Holland and Shanna Gamble; three grandchildren, Jacob Gamble, Marley Gamble and Grayson Gamble; and an uncle and aunt, Billy and Malee Holland.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrange-ments.

Phyllis Gay Vaughn
TRINITY -- Services for Phyllis Gay Vaughn, 88, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, in the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Grady Gladden officiating.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Anthony Cemetery in Anthony, N.M. with Bro. Jim Horton officiating.
Mrs. Vaughn died Nov. 3 in Huntsville.
She was born Feb. 23, 1915, in Hunter, Ark., one of seven children born to the late Nancy Jane McIntire Bradney and Joseph Francis Bradney.
At the age of 18 she met Charley Roy Vaughn and the couple was married in 1933. During their marriage they resided in a number of places, including Big Woods and Wheatley, Ark., and the XIT Ranch in Texas.
In 1940, the couple adopted a baby girl, Jackie Lynn, and in 1949 the family moved to Anthony, N.M. where she was employed by a telephone company for more than 20 years. She also worked for the Bell Telephone system in El Paso.
Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Lynn Price; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brent and Rhonda Price, Kent and Patti Price and Gay and Scott Gillespy; three great-grandchildren, Kent Allen Price and his wife, Dayla, Brent Price Jr. and Emily Price; a special niece and her husband, Judy and Tony Hernandez; nieces, Bessie Peterson and Jo Butcher and special friend, Moody Wrotten; and a nephew, Charley Vaughn.

Ellen Morning Wingwood
TRINITY -- Services for Ellen Morning Wingwood, 87, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lovelady with the Rev. Lawrence Sowells, pastor, and the Rev. S.R. Domonique officiating.
Burial followed in the Fodice Cemetery in Lovelady.
Mrs. Wingwood died Oct. 31 in the East Texas Medical Center -- Trinity.
She was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Fodice, the daughter or Calvin Morning and Julia Ann Holcomb. She had been a member of the Mr. Olive Baptist Church since childhood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Felton Wingwood; two sisters, Lottie Mae Close and Sadie Cunningham; a brother, Harold D. Morning; a daughter, Bertha Ann Ware; and one granddaughter, Wanda Kay Stubblefield.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Brigitte Wingwood of El Paso; three daughters and a son-in-law, Vanetta Holman, Marie Stubblefield and MaeNell and All Stewart, all of Trinity; four sisters, Arizona Cunningham, Pauline Walker, Bessie Morning and Calretta Morning, all of Trinity; one brother, Ollie Morning of Trinity; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a number of other relatives and friends.
McClain-Clebourn Funeral Service directed the arrangements.

Elizabeth Ann Bates
GROVETON -- Elizabeth Ann Bates, 93, of Groveton died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, in Groveton.
No funeral services are planned at this time.
Mrs. Bates was born March 12, 1910, in New York, the daughter of the late John and Ann Anderson. During World War II she worked as a riveter at the North American bomber plant.
She was a member of the Methodist Church in Springs, Kansas and a member and past Grand Noble of the Rebecca Lodge.
Mrs. Bates was employed for over 30 years at the Sunshine-Keebler Manufacturing Co. She had resided at the Groveton Nursing Home for more than 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wister Hamilton Bates; a grandson, Ronald Edward Banks; and a granddaughter, Sharolyn Ann Banks.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dale and Richard Banks; one granddaughter and her spouse, Candace and Jeff Henthorne; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan Dale, Richard Lee, Brent Edward and Andrea Dawn.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Groveton directed the arrangements.

Anna Belle Liles-Childers
LA PORTE -- Graveside services for Anna Belle Liles-Childers, 90, of Crockett were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, in the Grand View Cemetery in Pasadena with the Rev. Mark Redd officiating.
Mrs. Liles-Childers died Tuesday, Nov. 11.
She was born Feb. 18, 1913, the daughter of Albert and Letitia Brewer Gist in Vandervoort, Ark. A resident of La Porte from 1936 to 1973, she was a member of the La Porte Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star and Bayshore Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, Jack Moore, William Liles and Clarence Childers; and a daughter, Laura Lee Crow.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Rex Franks of Trinity; six grandchildren and their spouses, Tommy and Kelly Crow, Ronnie and Sandy Crow, Laura and Joseph Jo, Robert Crow and Cliff and Brenda Wilson of La Porte, Lynda and Larry Evans of La Porte; 12 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Paul U. Lee-La Porte Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Virginia Baize McBryde
TRINITY -- Services for Virginia Baize McBryde, 65, of Trinity were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at the Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church of Trinity.
A second service also was held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Sour Lake.
Burial followed in the Pine Ridge Cemetery near Sour Lake.
Mrs. McBryde died Wednesday, Nov. 12, at her Trinity residence.
She was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Pine Ridge, daughter of the late Harliss and Alma Jordan Baize. She was a graduate of Sour Lake High School and earned a bachelor of arts degree in education from Lamar University in Beaumont.
She was employed by the Hardin-Jefferson Independent School District for more than 23 years and retired from the Kline ISD after teaching elementary school there for nine years.
Following her retirement, she moved to Trinity and enjoyed spending time on Lake Livingston with her husband and close friends. She was a member of Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church of Trinity.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Charles H. McBryde of Trinity; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Anderson; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Carol McBryde; a sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Nick Miller; and four grandchildren, Casey, Katherine, Michael and Christopher.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Ethyel May Di-etschman Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 8441, Huntsville, Texas 77340.

Norma Jean Russell
TRINITY -- Graveside services for Norma Jean Russell, 70, were held Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at the Glendale Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin King officiating.
Mrs. Russell died Thursday, Nov. 13, with her family at her side.
She was born Jan. 14, 1933 in Trinity County, daughter of the late William and Alma Hill Clayton. Before her retirement, she worked for the Continental Oil Co. as a supervisor.
Mrs. Russell enjoyed hunting during deer season but her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Lillian Ann Butler, Deborah G. Blair and Tricia J. Taylor; a son and daughter-in-law, Henry G. and Pam Russell; three sisters, Fannie Anderson, Linda McRae and Ann Presley; one brothers, Eugene Clayton; 10 grandchildren, Christi, Brandon, Kyle, Katie, Chelsea, Tonya, Nicole, Tina, Sherry and Richard; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Abigail, Kristopher and Ashlyn; and a number of other relatives.

Mary Estelle Davis
TRINITY -- Services for Mary Estelle Davis, 93, of Trinity will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, in the Rosewell Church of Christ in Marietta, Ga.
Burial will follow in the Barfield Cemetery in Georgia.
Mrs. Davis died Monday, Nov., 24, at Avalon Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Trinity.
She was born Nov. 12, 1910, in Marietta, Ga., and had resided in Trinity for the past 12 years. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the clothing manufacturing business.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William and Judy Bond of Trinity; one sister, Jesse Maude Johnston; two grand children, Gregory Allen Bond and Deanna Withers; two great-grandsons, John Scott McCaleb and Craig Allen McCaleb; two great-granddaughters, Caitlin Bond and Allison Bond; and one great-great-granddaughter, Victoria McCaleb.

Doris Helen Myrick Trow
TRINITY -- Services for Doris Helen Myrick Trow, 74, of Trinity were held Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin King officiating.
Burial followed in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.
Mrs. Trow died at her residence on Saturday, Nov. 22.
She was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Forest, Miss., the daughter of the late Daniel Houston and Cassie McClellan Myrick. She was married to the late Col. Robert "Bob" Trow. Following her husband's retirement from military service, the couple moved to Trinity.
She attended Sam Houston State College, majoring in art. She loved gardening, NASCAR racing and blues and jazz music.
Mrs. Trow was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Trinity.
Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Trow of Austin, Tara Casper and friend, Jerry Cheatham, of Trinity; and Mary Ann Bell and her husband, Robert, of Austin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Reba Myrick of Tyler and Kenny and Diana Myrick of Big Sandy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mimi and Greg Weston of Big Sandy and Shirley and Richard Hogenmiller of Longview; a sister-in-law, Jo Myrick of Friendswood; four grandchildren, Katie Renaude, Tarisa Casper, Stephen Casper and Aiden Bell; longtime friend, Frank McGee; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Grady Bill Brinkley
TRINITY -- Graveside services for Grady Bill Brinkley, 97, of Trinity were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, in the Clapp Cemetery near Trinity with the Rev. Rick Rankin officiating.
Mr. Brinkley died Thursday, Dec. 11 in Trinity.
He was born June 28, 1906, in Houston County, the son of Warrick and Lissie Shaw Brinkley. He was retired from Pipefitters Local No. 211 and was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline.
Survivors include three stepchildren, Joann Strickland, David Dempsey and Mark Dempsey; a nephew, Stephen Laws Jr.; and six cousins, June Black, J.M. Pollard, Omaha Rhodes, Syble Stout, Tommy Parker and Paul Parker.
