Theresa Phillips
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Theresa Lamoine Phillips, 34 of Corrigan were held Monday, September 29 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jacob Conner officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Ms. Phillips was born May 30, 1969 on Otis Air Force Base just outside of Boston, Massachusetts and passed away in her home, Saturday, September 27, 2003. She served as a nurse's aide for Memorial Medical Center before she got sick and was a Baptist by faith. Her sister-in-law, Janell Phillips, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Phillips of Lufkin and Kimberly Phillips of Corrigan; grandchildren, Hailie and John Love both of Corrigan; parents, Helen and Kenneth Phillips of Giddings; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Robin Phillips of Oklahoma, David Phillips of Dallas, Anthony and Alicia Phillips of Colorado, Springs, Colorado, Matthew and Christina Phillips of Doucette, Tex, sisters and brothers-in-law, Maria and Robert Kuehn of Corrigan, Michele and Al Singletary of Lufkin; special friends, Lisa Smith and Leanne Cagdill.
Pallbearers were Anthony Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Robert Kuehn, Kenneth Phillips, Kenny Allsbrooks and Douglas Rhodes.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home.

Velma Lee Lunsford
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Velma Lee Lunsford, 69, were held Monday, September 22 at 10 a.m. at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Price officiating.
Lunsford died Friday, September 19, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center, Livingston in Livingston.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Jones and her mother Ellie Hunter Jones, Jimmy Allen Lunsford (son), Nancy Wyatt (daughter), Demi Lada (granddaughter), Dennis Lada (grandson).
She was born February 21, 1934 in Capitan, New Mexico, the daughter of Frank and Ellie (Hunter) Jones.
Pallbearers were Jack Wyatt, Jimmie Wyatt, Daniel Lada, Jason Lada, Billy Kelley and Brandon Kelley.
Services were entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home.

Bonnie Dell Amerine
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Bonnie Dell Amerine, 88 of Corrigan were held September 22 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Norman Turner officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Amerine was born December 1, 1914 in Barnum and passed away Saturday, September 20, 2003 in her home. She was a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ and retired after 40 years from Corrigan-Camden I.S.D. in 1978.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Earl Amerine of Corrigan, sister, Mary Lee Legas of Seattle, Washington, sisters-in-law, Evelyn Philmon and Evelyn Amerine both of Lufkin, Susie Evelyn Pate and Loyal Pate both of Corrigan, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Amerine, Phillip Pate, Doyle Philmon, Jerry Philmon, Donald Pate, John Bryan and Johnny Lee Griffin.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home, Inc.

Bethel L. "Pappy" Leggett
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Bethel L. "Pappy" Leggett, 81 of Huntington were held September 23 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Hedges officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pappy was born October 8, 1921 in New Caney, Texas and passed away Saturday, September 20, 2003 in the VA Hospital in Houston. After 20 years of work in the W.T. Carter & Brother sawmill, he continued his career with Brown and Root in Baytown, retiring in the late 70's. As a WWII veteran he served two years in many battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He is of the Methodist faith. His parents, Bethel L. Sr. and Edna Dominy Leggett, his first wife, Bernice "Bub" Childree Leggett and granddaughter, "Cookie," preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Pauline "Polly" Leggett of Huntington; sons and daughters-in-law, Bethel "Butch" and Joyce Leggett of Clute, Ronald "Ronnie" and Shirley Leggett of Humble; grandsons Bryan, Brad, Steven and Darell; granddaughter, Michelle, three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter; also one step-son, Rick Oliver and wife JoAnn of Dallas, two step grandchildren; and four great step-grandchildren. He also is survived by his sister, Evelyn Amerine of Lufkin along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Michael Elrod, Brad Leggett, Bryan Leggett, Clyde Dominy, Harlon Parrish and Guy Treadway.
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Dominy, Martin Pipes and John Mullen.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home, Inc.

Billie Love Woodward
LIVINGSTON -- Billie Love Woodward, 72, of Livingston, died Saturday, September 13 at Memorial Medical Center in Livingston. Services were held September 18 at First United Methodist Church of Livingston with Rev. Mary Shivers officiating. Interment followed at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Woodward was born on June 4, 1931 in Shepherd to parents, Ezra and Douglas Herrod Meyers. She had been a resident of Livingston since 1960 moving from Halletsville. She was a graduate of Sam Houston State University where she earned a B.S. degree. She married Loyd Woodward on March 12, 1950 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was secretary of the Polk County Coon Hunters Club and a lifetime member of the Texas State Coon Hunters Board and the Cleveland Coon Hunters Club. A daughter, Karen Sue Woodard, and a granddaughter, Natasha Atchley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband Loyd of Livingston; three sons, Loyd Woodward of Clairemont; Doug Woodward of Dripping Springs, Jeff Woodward and wife Cindy of Livingston; a daughter, Diane Woodward of Clearwater, Florida; fourteen grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the Polk County Coon Hunters Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 571, Corrigan, Texas 75939.
Arrangements were by Pace Funeral Home of Livingston.

Mirtie Eula Kennedy
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services fro Mirtie Eula Blalock Kennedy, 94, of Pasadena were held Wednesday, September 17 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Holhausen-Darby Cemetery.
Mrs. Kennedy was born September 18, 1908 in Ratcliff, Texas, and passed away Saturday, September 13, 2003 in a Pasadena hospital. She was a housewife and a member of the South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena for the past 10 years.
Her sons, J.J. Fair of Pasadena; Vernon Fair of Livingston; Bobby Fair of Sugar Land; brother, Hildred Blalock of Hudson; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren survive her.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home, Inc.

Vera Mae Bradley
CHESTER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Mae Bradley, age 72, of Chester were held Thursday, September 11 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Hails Taylor officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Bradley died Monday, September 8, 2003. Born November 6, 1930 in Angelina County, she was the daughter of the late An-drew and Bertha Welch.
Survivors include: Aubry Bradley, her beloved husband of 54 years; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Kent Barnes of Chester, daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Mark Davison of Chester; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Bradley of Chester; grandchildren Tara and Kevin Burman of Livingston, Travis and Sheryl Barnes of Bowne, Jeremiah and Erin Barnes of Livingston, Kimberly and Jason Riddle of Colita, Lance Corporal Beau Soefje of Chester, Ashley Davison of Chester and Bradley Davison of Chester; great grandchildren, Blake Burman, Kade Burman, Dane Barnes, Aubrey Lynn Barnes and Kason Riddle; brothers, Troy Welch and wife Murl Dean of Camp Ruby, Rudy Welch and wife Nelda of Webster.
She was preceded in death by her brother Rubin Welch.
Pallbearers were Kevin Burman, Travis Barnes, Jeremiah Barnes, Beau Soefje, Bradley Davison and Scott Polino.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Camp Ta-Ku-La or Chester ISD.
Services were under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.

Dale C. Clarke
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Dale C. Clarke, 84 of Nacogdoches were held October 20 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Thomas Parrish officiating. Interment followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston.
Mr. Clarke was born March 17, 1919 in Moscow and passed away Friday, October 17, 2003 in the Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was president of The Dale Co. in Houston for over 20 years. His first wife, Kathryn Derr Clarke; daughter, Regina Clarke; his parents, William Henry and Fannie Eugenie Clark; three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Lawana Chandler Clarke of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Nancy Clarke of Austin; step-son and wife, Jim and Linda Swann of Lufkin; daughters, Caryl Colburn of Austin and Allison Clarke of San Antonio; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brad Swann, Greg Swann, Todd Clark, Andrew Clark, Joe Clarke and Jerry Clarke.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home, Inc.

Annie Mae Wolf
WOODVILLE -- Mrs. Annie Mae Wolf, 83, of Warren died Sunday, November 2 2003 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville. Services were held November 5 at the Warren Chapel Baptist Church in Warren with burial at Hillister Community Cemetery in Hillister.
Wolf was a native of Corrigan, Polk County for a number of years. Mrs. Annie Wolf was survived by her three daughters: Verda Wolf of Warren; Beatrice and husband Leonard Williams of Nacogdoches; and Maggie and husband Alfred Foster of Hillister; three sons, Jessie and wife Linda Wolf of Warren; Elray and wife Flo Wolf and James Wolf both of Beaumont.
Services were entrusted to Coleman's Tyler County Funeral Home in Woodville.

Carrie Lee Burris
CORRIGAN -- Services for Carrie Lee Burris, 73, of Corrigan were held Saturday, November 1 in the First Baptist Church in Corrigan, with Rev. Jeff Devine officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Burris was born September 13, 1930 in Panola County, Texas and she died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at her residence.
Carrie Lee was a gifted homemaker, with a Master's Degree in Motherhood. She loved hunting, fishing and was known as the "Boss Hog" of our family. She drew comfort from her loving family during her courageous battle. Her last thoughts were not of herself, but of her family and many friends she would leave behind. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Corrigan.
Survivors include her husband, Alton Burris of Corrigan; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and John Paul Purvis of Corrigan; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Joyce Burris of Corrigan; grandchildren, Elisha and Bo Bell, Brad and Julie Purvis, Shana and Patrick Dickens, Reagon and Julie Clamon, Ryan and Sandy Burris, Cody and LaRiesa Burris; great-grandchildren, Mitch Bell, Blake Bell, Shelbey Dickens, Seth Dickens, Katy Burris and Gavin Burris; sisters, Evelyn Thomas of Rusk, Oleta Beauchamp of Lufkin and Ann Thigpen of Houston; and brother, Bill Carrico of Lufkin.
Mrs. Burris was preceded in death by her son, Gary; her parents, Maude (Wood) and Walter W. Carrico; her sister, Oneida Pike; and her brother, Laverle Carrico.
Pallbearers were Elisha Bell, Brad Purvis, Ryan Burris, Cody Burris, Regon Clamon and Shana Dickens.
Services were entrusted to Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Directors of Lufkin.

Glenola "Poly" Strickland
PASADENA -- Glenola "Polly" Strickland, 74, of Pasadena, died Friday, October 31. Survivors include husband, John Strickland Sr.; daughter, Jeanette Brittain and husband John; son, James Crain and wife Sue; step-daughters, Deborah Klepacz and husband Mark, Sandra Cumming and husband Al; step-son, John Strickland Jr.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Pasadena on Sunday, November 2. Interment followed in Forest Park East Cemetery.
