Mr. Porter

Georger Harold Porter, 73, of Temple died at his residence on Oct. 8, 2000. Memorial services were held Oct. 10 at First United Methodist Church in Hamilton with Rev. Steven W. Buchele and Rev. Dean Reed officiating.
He was born Feb. 16, 1927, the youngest child of Harry and Esther Porter.
He graduated from Griffith High School in Griffith, Ind., attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI, earning his B.S. degree from South West Texas University at San Marcos. He did his graduate studies at Valporaiso, Ind. and at Purdue University Calumet Campus at Hammond, Ind.
He was the sixth round draft choice of the Pittsburg Steelers football team in 1953 and a veteran of the Army, having served for three years.
Mr. Porter was an educator, teacher, coach and athletic director for 32 years. He taught at Saint Thomas More at Munster, Ind. for 16 years and finished his teaching career at Copperas Cove, retiring in 1993.
He served as District Executive Boy Scouts of America for five years and was Juvenile Probation officer for three years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Temple for 13 years and a charter member of the foundation United Methodist Church in Belton.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Bobby Joyce Riley Porter of Temple, a son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Margaret Porter of Cisco; a daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Alva of Rotan three grandchildren, Katy Meador and Chris of Eldorado, Matthew Mercer and April of Lubbock, Kelly Porter of Austin and a sister, Helen Montasiewicz of Highland, Ind.
The family has designated Foundation United Methodist Church of Belton building fund for memorials.

Mr. Shockley

Gary Delbert Shockley, 44, died Sept. 29, 2000. Graveside funeral services were held Oct. 9 at Murphree Cemetery in Evant with Pastor Rick Smith and Pastor Eugene Smith officiating with music by Pastor John Clifford.
He was born Jan. 7, 1956 at Shepherd Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, the son of Lilburn D. and Clara Mathis Shockley.
He graduated from Wurzburg American High School and attended Bible College. He served the Lord in Teen Challenge ministries and was a volunteer at Set-Free ministries in Waco. He was a Chirstian and a member of the Baptist church.
Mr. Shockley was a veteran of the Navy and a carpenter by trade.
Survivors include his son, Cody Dean Shockley of Hamilton; his parents; a sister, Pamela Hayes and husband Scotty of Gustine; his Aunt Roxie and Tom Hill and Aunt Faye and Dan Blanton, all of Ardmore, Okla and his Aunt Mildred and Bob Coats of Oklahoma, Uncle Dusty Shockley of NM and special friends Pastor Eugene and Mary Smith of Waco along with numerous cousins.
The family has designated Set-Free Ministry, 2117 Woods St., Waco for memorials.

Mrs. Reeves

Lillie Waldine Reeves, 86, died Oct. 5, 2000 at Spring. Funeral services were held Oct. 8 at Rutledge Funeral Home with Bro. David Keith officiating. Burial was at Carlton Cemetery.
She was born April 14, 1914 and lived her life in Carlton. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Postmaster at the Carlton Post Office for several years. She was a member of the Carlton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Reeves and her parents, Robert and Hattie Sowell.
Survivors include several nieces, great-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were John Walton, Mike King, Mark McKown, Kenneth Woolsey, Ben Reeves and Shaun McGonagill.

Miss Garner

Tiffany Ann Garner, 19, died Nov. 26 in Comanche County. Funeral services were held Nov. 28 at Hamilton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Townsend officiating.
She was born May 24, 1981 and completed high school in Brownwood. She lived in Proctor and was a waitress.
She is preceded in death by her little sister Katey Monk and her great-grandfather, Dale Wallace.
Survivors include her parents, Rodger and Connie Monk of Brashear and Tuwana and James Quigg of Hamilton; her brothers, Alex Kaczmarczyk, Jimmy Quigg and Robert Monk; her sisters, Catherine and Kimberly Kaczmarczyk, Whitley Quigg and Mary and Beth Sumpter; grandparents Larry and Judy Garner and Pamela and Gerald Factor and Dale Monk; her great-grandmother, Juanita Howard and Ethel Wallace.
Pallbearers were Cecil and Harold Kennedy, Chris Blair, Cody, Wesley and Shane Smith. Honorary Pallbearer was James Wallace.

Mrs. Anglin

Katherine Anglin, 62 of Woodway died Nov. 26, 2000. Graveside services were held Nov. 28 at Jonesboro Cemetery with Rev. Tom Robbins and Dr. Jack Kyle Daniels officiating. A memorial service was held at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church.
She was born May 17, 1938 in Hamilton and she graduated from Hico High School. She received her bachelors degree from Tarleton State University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Texas.
Mrs. Anglin worked for the Department of Human Services for 12 years and was employed as community services administrator at Methodist Children’s Home for the past eleven years.
She was a member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church and served as president of the Regional Welfare Board.
Survivors include her daughters, Katrina Allison and husband Kelly of San Marcos and Michelle Painter and husband Bobby of Odessa; her sons, Walter Glenn Anglin of Waco and Kevin Anglin and wife Karen of Brenham; her sister, Myrna Murphy and husband Pat of Richardson; eight grandchildren, Kameron and Kristi Allison, Avery and Joshua Painter, Nathan, Nabil, Jasmine and Austin Anglin.
Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children’s Home.

Mr. Howell

Charles Turner (Red) Howell, 63, died Jan. 31, 2001 at the Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services were held at the Riley Funeral Home with Michael Graham and Bobby Cathey officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
He was born Nov. 28, 1937 in Valdosta, Ga., the son of John Lemuel and Agnes Carter Howell. He served two years in the Army. Mr. Howell attended Valdosta State University and graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens.
Mr. Howell worked in the Banking business, serving communities for 30 years.
Upon moving to Texas he lived in Friendswood and Victoria. While in Victoria he was Senior Vice President and a loan officer at the Victoria Bank and Trust. He served on the planning commission and also on the board of directors of the Victoria Builders Association. He was a member of the Lion’s Club, Kiwanis and an active Boy Scout Supporter.
Mr. Howell was in the banking business in Beaumont prior to moving to Hamilton in March of 1993. He was the vice president and C.E.O. of the First Bank of Texas from March 1993 to September 1994. He was a member of the Lion’s Club and served on the Board of Child Protection Services and The American Cancer Society.
He was married to Kay Gloff, who died of cancer July 27, 1985. Surviving from their marriage are two sons, Kirk Robert Howell off Pearland and Patrick Tillman Howell of Pasadena; a stepson, James Lawrence (Larry) Moore and wife Ann of Freindswood; five grandsons, Cody Howell and Taylor, Brent, Brett and Mitchell Moore and his mother-in-law Gladys Psalmond of Eufaula, Okla.
On Dec. 7, 1995 he was married to Eva (Pitts) Watson in Houston. Surviving from their marriage are his wife, Eva Howell of Hamilton; four stepchildren, Cathy Sellers and husband Ted of Iraan; Tom Watson and wife Judy of Sand Springs, Okla; Mike Watson and Bill Watson and wife Texanne, all of Hamilton; six step-grandchildren, Elisa Lester and husband Joe of Stephenville, Christi Sellers of San Angelo, Josh Watson, Chandra Ingram and husband Brian, all of Sand Springs, Okla, John Michael Watson and Danny Watson of Hamilton and Renee, Albert and Billy White of Hamilton; two step-great-grand-children, Brayden Watson of Tulsa, Okla. and Justin Lester of Stephenville; his mother-in-law Fleeta Pitts of Hamilton and a host of friends from Hamilton, Tomball, Victoria and the Houston area and Valdosta, Ga.
Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Tillman Howell.
Pallbearers were Doug Forrest, Gayland Stphens, Myron Kauitzsch, Harry Bullard, Larry Curry, and Jim Adams.
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Walls, Plank Wilson, Keith Curry, John Waddell, Roy Rumsey, Dr. James Lee, Bob Gautier, Tom Seabourn, Harmon Trammell and Hayden Havens.

Mr. Gautier

Claud Terrell Gautier, 93, died Feb. 2, 2001 at the Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. George Tolbert and Jim Sullenger officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 24, 1907 at Throckmorton, the son of David Crockett Gautier and Georgia McCullough.
Mr. Gautier worked at Fort Hood throughout World War II. He owned and operated Hamilton Trailer Co. where he held several patents. He owned and operated the International Harvester dealership in Hamilton until his retirement in 1971.
He was an active member of the community, serving on the Hamilton City Council, Hamilton Development Board, the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department and he was a member of the Lions Club and of the Odd Fellow Lodge, obtaining the highest degree they offer. He was a Christian by faith.
Mr. Gautier was married to Sybil Smith on July 5, 1930. She preceded him in death in 1978.
Mr. Gautier was married to Jessie Wilson on June 10, 1984.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a sister and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Gautier of Hamilton; David Gautier and wife Nancy of Kingsland, Don Gautier and wife Jean of Belton, Jerry Gautier of China Springs, Bob Gautier and wife Johnnye, Bill Gautier, Pam Eilers and husband Larry, all of Hamilton, son-in-law Bob Turner of Whitney, husband of the late Kathryn Gautier Turner; two stepchildren, Plank Wilson and wife Lurine and Doris Rost of Hamilton; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Haskell of Okla.; a brother, Vaughn Gautier and wife Dica of Ariz.; four step-grandchildren; four great-step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were John Scott Pederson, Mark Turner, Chris Turner, Greg Eilers, Brad Eilers, Don Alan Gautier, Darin Gautier, Tommy Wayne Gautier and Jeremy Claud Gautier.
Honorary pallbearers were John Dunlop, Syle Dyer, Monroe Reinert, Tom J. Thompson, Bobby Stephens, Jim Soules, Everett Vandiver, Plank Wilson, Roy Rost, John Spradling, Renn Lawrence and Kevin Carroll.
The family has designated Hamilton Fire Department, Hamilton Public Library and Park Heights Church of Christ for memorials.

Mr. Jones

Ted L. Jones, 82, died Feb. 9, 2001. Funeral services were held Feb. 11 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Reed officiating. Burial was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery. An instrumental band group played the Hamilton School Song as a touching tribute to Coach Jones at the conclusion of services at the cemetery .
Mr. Jones was born Nov. 6, 1918 in Pineville, La., the son of Robert Lee Jones and Annie Swartzenberg Jones. He attended Louisiana College and was a graduate of Baylor University.
He was married to Lorraine Cleveland, who preceded him in death.
He was then married to Hannah Brumbalow Jones.
Mr. Jones was a retired teacher and longtime coach in the Hamilton schools. He served as a captain in the United States Air Force. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ted L. Jones and wife Becky of Valley Mills; four stepsons, Jim Mahan and wife Karen, Toby Mahan and wife Becky, Joe Mahan and wife Rhonda, all of DeLeon and Charles Mahan and wife Carol of Odessa; two grandchildren, Jason and Josh Jones; nine step-grandchildren; a great-grand-child and a sister, Bobbie J. Thompson of Pineville, La.
Organist was Jackie Christian and vocalist was Barbara Johnson.
Pallbearers were Corky Wilson, Harry Bullard, Dennis Burks, Charles Wilcox, Jay Wilcox, Larry Eilers, Clyde Raibourn, Porter Willis and Milton Harelik.

Mrs. Lamb

Betty Lou Lamb, 71 of Somerville County, died Feb. 9, 2001 at St. Joseph’s Manor in Bryan. Funeral services were held Feb. 13 at First Baptist Church in Caldwell with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial was at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena.
Mrs. Lamb was born in Groveton on May 24, 1929, the daughter of Dema and C.W. West. She was a rancher and a homemaker.
Mrs. Lamb was a member of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Associ-ation and the First Baptist Church of Caldwell.
Survivors include her husband, James M. (Billy) Lamb of Hamilton; her parents of Pasadena; two sons, Barry W. Lamb and wife Nicki of Hamilton and Billy Mack Lamb and wife Linda of Brady; six grandsons, Landon, Ben and Will Lamb of Hamilton; David Lamb of Gustine, Jay Lamb of Austin and Brady Lamb of Brady; three great-grandchildren and three brothers.

Mrs. McPherson

Jessie Aileen (Register) McPherson, 88, died at Hamilton Nursing Home on Feb. 10, 2001. Funeral services were held Feb. 13 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Jones and Elder Paul McClain officiating. Burial was in the Cottage Hill Cemetery.
She was born April 28, 1912 in the Shive Community, the daughter of Archibald and Frances Register. She lived most of her life in the Hamilton County area.
Mrs. McPherson worked for Garner Alvis in Hamilton for several years and managed Esta Dowdy’s dress shop in San Antonio for several years. She moved back to Hamilton in 1988 due to failing health. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was first married to Ezeme Tarrent. She was married to John T. McPherson on April 7, 1956. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1967.
She is also preceded in death by four sisters, Allie Mae Harden, Ruth Hughes, Edna Sharp and Lola Coalson; six brothers, Wilson Register, Shadrick (Shade) Register, Thomas (Dick) Register, Frank Register, Fred Register and A.G. Register.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Kitty Register, wife of the late A.G. Register; a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Claude Brock, Leslie Wagner, Tommy Parmley, Jerry Hanserd, Glen Register, Garland Coalson, Earl Coalson and Kenneth Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were A.G. Kincheloe, Ernest Tarrent and Dr. Ping N. Tan.
