Mr. O'Neal

Hadden Raleigh O'Neal, 60 of Heidenheimer died August 18, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services were held August 21 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ron Winsman officiating. Burial followed at Murphee Cemetery in Hamilton.
Mr. O'Neal was born in Waco on August 18, 1944, the son of Hadden Charles and Jessie Tepel Massingill O'Neal. He lived in Hamilton for a number of years before moving to Heidenheimer in 1986. He was a member of the APA Pool League.
Survivors include his wife, Vela Miller-O'Neal of Heidenheimer; six sons, Kyle King of San Antonio, James E. Wheat of Pampa, Jerry Davis of Temple, Johnny Lynn of Hawaii, Melvin L. Miller of Mammoth Springs and Benny Hicks of Moffat; two daughters, Jessica Beck of Temple and Natasha Miller of Tulsa, Okla. and ten grandchildren.

Mrs. McPherson

Lois McPherson, 82, died in Waco August 22, 2004. Funeral services were held Aug. 24 at 2 p.m.
She was born August 7, 1922 in Coryell County, the daughter of Ewel Henry Livingston and Roxie Mamie Burner Livingston.
She was married to James Cyriel McPherson on Sept. 26, 1978. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1996.
Mrs. McPherson worked for many years in the nursing home in Hamilton taking care of others as long as her health would permit. She was a former member of the Littleville Baptist Church. After moving to Waco to be near her daughter she worshiped with the Grace Temple Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Ervin Blansit; a sister, Gladys Carroll and two brothers, Pat and Jim Livingston.
Survivors include her five children, Raymond Birk of Oklahoma, Henry Birk, Rosalie Matthews of Waco, Ernest Birk of Burleson and Johnny Blansit of Goldthwaite; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one sister Bernice Sanders of Meridian.

Mrs. Merritt

Grace Langford Merritt age 87, of Garland formerly of the Olin Community died August 27, 2004. A graveside service was held August 31 at Erath Gardens of Memory Stephenville.
She was born Nov. 16, 1917. She was a homemaker and a member of Olin Baptist Church of the Olin Community in Hamilton County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Presley Merritt.
Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Fackler of Garland and Jerry Caudill and husband, Larry of Baytown; son-in-law, Richard Fackler, II, grandchildren, Michelle Leisure of Cave Springs, Ark., Lana Fackler of Sachse, Richard Fackler III of Flower Mound, Jerry Fackler of Austin, and Brian Fackler of Garland.

Mr. Vanderpool

Bennie Ray Vanderpool, 61, of Dublin, died August 31, 2004 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services were held at Harrell Memorial Chapel on Sept. 3 with Dean Bradley officiating. Burial followed at Dublin Liveoak Cemetery.
He was born March 8, 1943 in Corsicana, the son of Floyd Harland Vanderpool and Opal Tackett.
He was married to Betty Ann Elliott on Oct. 12, 1963 in Dublin and was a member of Park Street Baptist Church and the D.V.A. He served in the war in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife of Dublin; his mother of Dublin; a son, Bennie Jr. and wife Sharla of Dublin; a daughter, Sheri and husband Jason of Fort Worth and a daughter, Jeannie and husband Barry Simpson of Glen Rose; grandchildren, Stephanie, Zachary and Shelby Simpson of Glen Rose, William and Michael Vanderpool of Dublin and Kennedy and Ryan Hansen of Fort Worth and sisters, Betty Cooper of Hamilton and Ruby Goin of Dublin.
Pallbearers were L.H. Jones, Gary Yarbrough, Dr. Fletcher, Rod Gerhard, Dr. Dameron, J.D. Evans, John Hollinger and Boots Elliott.

Mr. Westmoreland

James Howard Westmoreland, 69, of Proctor, died Sept. 2, 2004 in the Scott and White Medical Center in Temple. Funeral services were held Sept. 5 in the Hall and Sons Funeral Chapel with burial following in Siloam Cemetery near Lamkin.
He was born Dec. 30, 1934 in Erath County near Dublin, the son of Jess and May Bell Watson Westmoreland. He was married to Melba Simpson on July 30, 1954
Mr. Westmoreland was a retired data analyzer for CSI Productions, an oil field producing company. He was a businessman in the Proctor community and had been a resident for 23 years, moving from Ft. Stockton. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Melba; two daughters, Debra Janson and husband Clifton and Linda Holmes and husband Melvin, both of Proctor; four grandchildren, William Janson, Crystal Janson, Jessica Holmes, Abnea Holmes; four great-grandchildren, Trendon Morin, Christian Holmes, Denise Garza and Earein Garza.

Mr. Smith

Richard Sidney Smith, 84, died Sept. 5, 2004 at Forest Oaks Nursing Home in Hamilton. Memorial services will be Sept. 13, at 10 a.m. in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton with Pastor Russell Nebhut officiating.
Mr. Smith was cremated and his daughter will be taking his ashes to Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado to join his wife, Sibyl who died in June of 2004.
He was born Oct. 17, 1919, the son of Dan and Clara Birdie Phears-Smith in Comanche County, Texas.
He was married to Georgia Sibyl Smith on Dec 12, 1940 in Hamilton. In 1941 -1942 he was employed in Brownwood, Texas at a service station and garage. He served in the United States Army Air Force attending technical schools at Amarillo Air Field, Amarillo and the Ford Motor Company Airplane School on the Liberator Bombera in Michigan.
Being stationed in Tonapah, Nevada. He was a Crew Chief Supervisor overseeing the repair of aircraft engines and mechanical working of the aircraft assisting pilots in correction of defects during flight. His military records were lost for a period of time so he was not able to go overseas with his company. He flew many trips to England with pilot. This did not qualify him however for the Veterans of Foreign Wars because they did not stay 100 hours in England. He is a member of the American Legion.
From 1947 to 1951 he was employed in Hamilton at a gas station and garage. He, also, attended Hamilton Vocational School in Auto Mechanics.
In 1951 Mr. and Mrs. Smith and their four year old daughter, Sharon moved to Espanola, New Mexico where Richard was employed at Hunter Motor Company.
Later, after retiring from the Ford dealership he was employed at Los Alamos National Laboratories in maintaining snow removal equipment and at Espanola Hospital in the maintenance department and he worked part time at a local car wash. For many years he owned and operated Dick Smith Auto Repair.
In 1982 Richard and Sibyl moved back to Hamilton where Dick sold tomatoes and other vegetables from his garden and pecans from his pecan trees, until he and Sibyl entered Forest Oaks Nursing Home in 2003.
He played in the Western Acesâ band in Espanola and with Tillie & The Boys Band and with the The Westernaires at many functions around Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Sibyl Faye Smith-Smith; his parents; two older half brothers; five older half sisters; one older sister; one younger brother; two half-nephews and one half niece.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon A. Smith-Green-Wikholm of Hamilton; four grandsons, Shawn A. Green and Sloan A. Green of Colorado; Saul A. Green of Arkansas and Shay A. Green of Utah; six great-grandsons, Zachary A. Green, Benjamin F. Green and Hayden S. Green of Colorado, Avery S. Green, Jonah Sidney Green (Richard’s namesake) and Adison M. Green of Arkansas; two great-grand-daughters, Amber S. Green of Utah and Jordanne M. Green of Arkansas; one sister, Lillie Pearl Smith-Kincheloe-Kelly of Western Hills Nursing Home in Comanche; one half-nephew; four half-nieces; one nephew and three nieces.

Mrs. Christian

Lucie Mae Wilson Christian, 85, died Sept. 3, 2004 in Fort Worth. Funeral services were held Sept. 5 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton with Rev. Lawrence Mulloy officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.
She was born March 5, 1919 in Coryell County, the daughter of Jasper Carroll Wilson and Emma Rosa Belle Wilhelm Wilson.
Mrs. Christian was the salutatorian of her 1936 graduating class at Hico. She was married to George W. Lowery on Oct. 2, 1937. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1977.
From the time she was a young woman she and her husband owned and operated their own businesses; service stations, grocery stores, and a fast food restaurant. At the fast food restaurant she astounded all who watched as she remembered customer’s names, faces, and exactly what they wanted on their orders. She never wrote anything down, and she seldom made an error.
Widowed at the age of 58, she completed her training in accounting at Angelo State University and accepted a position in a locally owned drug store in San Angelo. In 1981 and 1982 she worked for the State’s senior citizen’s program in job placement.
She lived in San Angelo from 1946 to 1982. She retired in 1982 to marry her childhood sweetheart T. C. Christian on July 27, 1982. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2004. They moved to Fort Worth to make their home. When T. C. retired from the Fort Worth Independent School District, they returned to Hamilton.
Mrs. Christian enjoyed decorating, sewing, crocheting, gardening, travel, piecing quilts, cooking and her family. As a child, she played the guitar while her father played (through his own patented invention) the piano, French harp, and drums.
She was a thoughtful friend, offering transportation to those that couldn’t drive, taking food to church members who couldn’t attend the Sunday dinners, and sending cards and making calls of encouragement to those who were ill or suffered a loss. She could always be counted on to make her chocolate pie when one of her kids called and said they were coming for a visit.
Before T. C.’s illness, they both sang in the church choir. During Mae’s illness she said T. C. might not volunteer, but if he were asked to do so, he would be singing in the heavenly choir.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Laverne and Melvin Hudson of Arlington, George and Becky Lowery of Justin and Lee and JoBeth Lowery of San Angelo; two step-sons David Christian and his wife Beverly of Benbrook and Don Ray Christian of Killeen; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Myrtle Campbell of New Braunfels as well as a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, William, A. W. (Tex), and Charles Wilson.
Pallearers were Larry Lowery, Tom Barganier, Tom C. Lowery, Glenn Christian, Gary Christian, Bill Massingill.

Mr. Janisch

Emil Janisch, 78, of Pur-mela, died Sept. 11 in a Harker Heights nursing home. Funeral services were held Sept. 13 at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wunderlich officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Bundrant cemetery .
Mr. Janisch was born June 11, 1926 in Houston, the son of Emil L. Sr. and Elizabeth An-nie Grebb Janisch.
He was married to Ellen Graeter in 1945 and they owned and operated a hardware store in Houston for 17 years. They moved to Purmela in 1973 where he was a rancher.
Mr. Janisch was a loving fa-ther and grandfather. He loved to play the fiddle and he loved his horses. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Gatesville.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter-in-law, Claudia Dale Janisch in 2001.
Survivors include a daugh-ter, Sue Jones and husband Ken of Gatesville; two sons, Bobby Janisch, Sr. of Gatesville and Jimmy Janisch and wife Debbie of Gatesville; a sister, Elizabeth Moore of Gatesville and nu-merous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Mrs. Dedeker

Dorothy Geraldine Dedeker, 87, died Sept. 13, 2004 in Ham-ilton. Graveside funeral ser-vices will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 16, in Fairmount Ceme-tery, San Angelo, Texas with Rev. Roy Dittfurth officiating.
Mrs. Dedeker was born Au-gust 8, 1917 in Tom Green County, the daughter of George and Lily Griffins Emert. She was married to Edgar B. Dede-ker on April 16, 1935. He pre-ceded her in death on March 13, 1990.
Mrs. Dedeker was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Gary Don Dedeker and one brother, G.B. Emert.
Survivors include two chil-dren, Bobby Gene Dedeker of San Angelo and Joann McCleskey of Indian Gap; six grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Lyndal Emert of San Angelo.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Fowler, Terry Fowler, Kye Emert, Kelly Fowler, Neil Ellis and Dee Ellis.

Mrs. Dreyer

Matilda Seilheimer Dreyer, 89, died Aug. 16, 2004 in McGregor Nursing Home. Burial was at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Coryell City.
She was born July 10, 1915 in Hamilton, the daughter of Paul Seilheimer and Matilda Pape Seilheimer. She was received in Christ’s Church through Holy Baptism and confirmed her faith through the Rite of Confirmation in Shive.
Mrs. Dreyer graduated from Hamilton High School in 1934 and attended Business College in Dallas for two years. She later worked at the State School for Boys for 12 years and for Wal-Mart for 15 years before retiring in 1998. She liked to watch all types of sports.
She was married to Alvin Dreyer on Jan. 16, 1938 in Shive. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1989.
Survivors include her son, Larry Dreyer of Euless; a sister, Freida Jensen of California; grandchildren, Steven Dreyer and wife Kathy of Lewisville, Kim Dreyer and husband David Smith of Jakarta, Indonesia and great-grandchildren, Shayla Smith and Elias Smith.
Pallbearers were Clarence Lucas, Richard Jeske, Edwin Seilheimer, Al Sharp, Gary Gohlke, Charles Niemann, Johnny Stegomoller and Manuel Widner.
Honorary pallbearers were Herman Kopp and Kenneth Sharp.

Mrs. Seider

Meta Louise Sophie Seider,
94, died Sept. 18, 2004 in Hamilton. Funeral services were held at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton with Pastor Russell Nebhut and Vicar Robert Reibau officiating. Burial followed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery at Aleman.
Mrs. Seider was born on April 15, 1910, the daughter of Fred and Frieda Petrick of Aleman.
The family were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Aleman, where on May 16, 1910, Pastor Moerbe baptized and at the age of 13 she was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church by Pastor Moerbe.
Meta was married to Erich Seider on Oct. 28,1937 and with Pastor Moerbe officiating
Throughout her life she loved to have people in her home to play 42 or 84 and spend time visiting. Some of the fondest memories of her grandchildren were the times they would cross the pasture and spend time with grandma playing dominos or putting puzzles together in the afternoons.
Meta inherited a strong work ethic from her parents and this was evident in her life on the farm. She always had a large garden and an abundance of flowers around the house. Roses were her favorite, and she grew beautiful rose bushes to add beauty to her home. She spent time every day working in the yard and providing a beautiful home for her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Erna Feldman who died at the age of four.
Survivors include her husband, Erich Seider of Gustine; her two children, Martin Seider and wife Juanita of Gustine, and daughter Juanita Anders of Gustine; four grandchildren, Donnie Jones, Keisha Jones, Roy Seider, and Jason Seider; three great-grandchildren, Tiffany Ann Seider, Logan Jones and Loren Jones; an extended family of step-grandchildren, Terri Wallace and husband Chuck, Tammie Miller and husband Alan and Tracy Birkett and husband Tom and nine step-great grandchildren, Britt Miller, Baylie Miller, Karli Hudson, Kyle Hudson, Levi Wallace, Emily Birkett, T.J. Birkett, Melanie Birkett and Georgia Birkett.
Pallbearers were Donnie Jones, Jason Seider, Truman Marwitz, Edwin Seider Jr. and Slim Witzsche.
The family has requested memorial be made to Forest Oaks Nursing Home in honor of the great care and support they provided to their mother and the family.
