Mrs. Brunk

Ruth Koen Brunk died April 27, 2003 at the Georgetown Hospital after a short illness. A celebration of life and memorial service was held May 4 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Round Rock. Burial was at the New I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hamilton.
She was born April 6, 1917 in Wichita Falls, the son of John D. and Ethel A. Koen. She grew up in Hamilton, attending John Tarlton College in Stephenville. She studied accounting.
She was married to Murray S. Brunk on May 16, 1940. They moved to Austin in 1953. Mrs. Brunk worked as a secretary in the Austin area, including in the working for the Texas House of Representatives during the legislative sessions in the Enrolling and Engrossing Department until 1961.
The couple opened the first flea market in Austin under the oak trees at South Congress and I35 in 1964. Shortly afterward, they opened the Collectors Market on State Highway 183, operating from 1966 to 1979. She was an integral contributor to the opening of the Collectors Market in Georgetown and continued to sell her collectibles until her death.
Mrs. Brunk was an active member of the Presbyterian Church. She was the first woman elder to serve on the Building Grounds Committee at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church of Austin. Additionally she was on the New Building Development Committee for St. Andrew’s Church and Grace Presbyterian Church of Round Rock. She celebrated the ground breaking for Grace Presbyterian’s new sanctuary on March 16, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Cleo Hays.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirlee Peterson of Georgetown and Donna Rinn of Fort Worth and family, Bruce Peterson, Randy Rader and Rhonda Wilcox; grandchildren, Shannon Rader, Kristi Lyons, Shawn McCoy, Matt Rader, Koen Rinn, Ryan Rinn and Laura Beth Rinn, Luke Lyons, Kelly Rader, Lisa McCoy, Rich Brooks, Brent Peterson, Spring Wilhelm and Andrew Wilhelm; great-grandchildren, Morgan Lyons, Dylan Lyons, Koty McCoy, Wade McCoy, Kayla McCoy, Parker Brooks, Laura Caudillo, Michael Wilhelm, Layne Wilhelm and Ian Peterson.
A celebration of Life and memorial service was held May 4 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Round Rock.

Mrs. Sauers

Lorene Sauers, 86, died April 30, 2003 at Hamilton. Funeral services where held May 3 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Shive with interment following in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery with Pastor Peter K. Anderson officiating.
Mrs. Sauers was born May 23, 1916 at Shive, the daughter of Chris and Augusta Marth Knipstein. She was a lifelong resident of the Shive Community and lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed.
On January 30, 1941, she was united in marriage to Fred Sauers. They shared 47 years of married life prior to his death on December 26, 1988. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked at Patty's of Texas as a seamstress for more than twenty years.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Gilbert and Barbara Sauers of Crowley, Ola and Jimmy Merck of Stephenville and Billy Glenn and Wanda Sauers of Mobile, Ala. seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Edwin Knipstein of Stephenville.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Aline Eilers and one brother Albert Knipstein.
Pallbearers were Dee Ann Nelson, Monte Sauers, Melissa Mitchell, Tammy Callcott, Corey Sauers, Melinda Sauers and David Sauers.

Mr. Williams

Clifton Wayne Williams, 56, of Lampasas died May 3 at Scott and White Hospital. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas with Deacon Carlos Jasso officiating. Rosary was May 5 at Briggs Gamel Chapel. Deacon Carlos Jasso officiated. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 23, 1946 in San Saba, the son of C.B. “Red” Williams and Marjorie Bagley. He was married to Beatrice Contreras on July 11, 1998 in San Antonio. He was a farmer, a rancher and a truck driver. Mr. Williams served in the US Army during Vietnam. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and had lived in Lampasas since 1968.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Williams of Lampasas; a son, Sammy Wayne Williams of Bryan; daughters, Keli Sue Williams of Hearne; step-daughters, Erica Brown, Teresa Hidalgo, Sarah Hidalgo and Lanita Hidalgo, all of Lampasas; his brothers, Phil Williams of San Antonio; sisters, Vicki Brown and Lester of Bend; his aunt and uncle, J.T. and Clydell Massingill of Hamilton and four grandchildren.

Mr. Bennett

Robert (Rob) Edward Bennett, 32, died May 2, 2003 in Austin. Funeral services will be conducted May 7 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin. Graveside services will be held May 10 at Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, OH.
Mr. Bennett was born in San Diego, Calif. where his mother and father were stationed in the Marine Corps. Within two months, his family returned to Texas where he was raised. He attended school in Arlington until the family moved to Mansfield School district where he attended.
Mr. Bennett was a graduate of Texas State Technical College in Waco. After his mother’s death, he moved to Austin. He worked several jobs but his love was music television shows.
Mr. Bennett’s education led him in that direction and he worked on and produced several music television shows, two of which are still in the top ten in the area. The first show he worked on was “Midnight from Master Control” for Austin Music Network. At the time of his death he was still producing one of the top-rated music shows in the area, “One Nation Underground,” on Austin Access network. While he worked on several movie productions when they were in Austin, he never left the area he had grown to love.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Bennett in 1996.
Survivors include his father, Robert J. (Bob) Bennett of Littlestown, PA; his step-mother, Judy T. Bennett; a brother, Michael James Bennett of Arlington; a step-sister, Sonya Earp; step brothers, Jason and Lonnie Simmons; grandmothers, Jewell Bennett of Hamilton and Ruby Kroger of Middletown, OH; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Texas and California and many friends in Austin.

Mr. Conner

Charline Whitt Conner, 76, of Bee House died May 4, 2003, in Lampasas. Funeral services were held May 6 at the Evant Church of Christ in Evant, Edward Schuab officiating, with interment following in the Bee House Cemetery.
Charline was born December 14, 1926, at Pearl, the daughter of Charlie Emmitt & Eula Mae Whitt Cox.
On November 4, 1944, at Bee House she was united in marriage to Glenn Ross Conner. During World War II, she worked at Fort Hood in civil service. For a number of years, she was a secretary for the propane company. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grand-mother. She was a member of the Pearl Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband Glenn Conner of Bee House; three daughters, Glenda Ruth Fuqua of Lubbock, Sandra Kay Conner of Corpus Christi and Frances Mae Conner of Copperas Cove; three grandchildren, Jennifer Lloyd, Russell Anderson and Jessica Jones; and one great-grandchild Conner Lloyd.
One infant son, Charles Glenn Conner, and her parents precede her in death.
Pallbearers were Richard Conner, Ross Conner, Bill Conner, Randy Conner, Tony Conner and Royce Conner.

Mrs. Jensen

Grace Irene Jensen, 75 died in Hamilton Saturday June 21, 2003. The family held a private interment.
She was born January 10, 1928 at LaMoure, N.D., the daughter of Francis Sheleny and Margaret Gereski Sheleny.
She was married to Rockwell (Bud) Jensen September 24, 1946 at Minneapolis, Minn. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1986.
Mrs. Jensen was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and a member of the Catholic Church. She was a retired sales clerk. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include four children, Mickey Kalweit of Hamilton, Cheryl Sherek of Granger, Steve Jensen and Denise Rother, both of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and one brother Eddie Shelley of Oregon.
She is preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Jenson, six sisters and four brothers.
The family has designated the Hamilton Public Library for memorials.

Mrs. Willeford

Rhoda Josephine Willeford, 97, died at Hamilton June 21, 2003. Funeral services were held June 24 at the First United Methodist Church in Hamilton with Rev. Wesley Jones officiating. Burial followed in Green Leaf Cemetery in Brownwood.
Mrs. Willeford was born October 7, 1905 at Brownwood, the daughter of Rex and Josephine Son Gaither.
She was married to Roland Alvis Willeford at Brownwood on July 4, 1926. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1999.
Mrs. Willeford was a graduate of Daniel Baker College that is now Howard Payne University. She was an active part of the community as long as her health permitted. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church were she was an active member in many of the church functions. She was also active in the Homemaker Club, American Legion Auxiliary and worked in the kitchen feeding the Lion Club. She was well known for collecting eyeglasses and sending them to the Lion Club distribution system to help others.
Mrs. Willeford loved to bake and share her cooking with others. When new comers moved to the community she would welcome them with a list of the neighbors, phone numbers they may need to help them get established, provide information about trash pick up days and general information about Hamilton and the area.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, Rowena Roberts, Aaron Willeford, Brittan Willeford, Ford Thompson, Dean Thompson, Francis Raibourn, Jackie McPherson, Ann Alexander, Leslie Mixon, Harriet Havens, Barbara Quinn and Virginia Crispeno; other family members and a host of friends.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Sheldon

Elbert Sheldon, 75, of Gatesville died June 21, 2003 at a Temple hospital Funeral services were held June 24 at the First United Methodist Church in Gatesville Burial was at the Hurst Ranch Cemetery in Hamilton County.
He was born Dec. 31, 1927 in Evant, the son of Chester and Beatrice Arnold Sheldon. He was reared and attended school in Evant, graduating in 1945. Mr. Sheldon entered the Air Force in 1946, serving in Guam. He was discharged in 1949.
He was married to the former Nellie Hymer on Dec. 27, 1952. He was a farmer/rancher and worked at the State School for Boys and for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, retiring in 1987. Mr. Sheldon was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gatesville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Sheldon.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Sheldon of Gatesville; a son, Phil Sheldon of Midland; a brother, Weldon Sheldon of Evant; a sister, Eva White of Abilene and a grandchild, Melissa Sheldon.
The family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Gatesville or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. McNutt

Evie McNutt died June 21, 2003. Lacy Funeral Home provided cremation and there were no services held, per her wishes.
Mrs. McNutt was a resident of Shive for the past ten years. She graduated second in a class of 200 from Brewer High School in Fort Worth, where she grew up. She had three years of college at Central Texas College, where she had been attending.
She was married to Ken McNutt for 30 years. She loved to garden and wrote the “Naturally Grown” column for the Hamilton Herald News for a number of years. Mrs. McNutt “never met a stranger” and was very active outdoors even though she suffered from three terminal illnesses.

Albert Lynn Drumheller, 39, died June 20, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday June 25, 2003 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Miles Miears officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Methodist Cemetery.
Mr. Drumheller was born February 6, 1964 at Freeport the son of William Drumheller and Shirley Tarvin Drumheller. He was married to Teresa Lynn Price February 29, 1996. He was warehouse manager for the Village Green Center in Jonesboro.
Mr. Drumheller is survived by his wife of Jonesboro; his mother Shirley Tarvin Drumheller; five children, Brandy Nicole Reese of Lake Jackson, Jason Allen Reese of Angleton, Jessica Lynn Drumheller of Crest View, Florida, Albert Lynn Price of Jonesboro and Krysta Cheyenne Drumheller of Jonesboro; three sisters, Sharon Drumheller of Fort Myers, Florida, Paula Foster of The Cayman Islands, Stacy Kreider of Cape Coral, Florida and one brother William Drumheller Jr. of Cape Coral, Florida.
Pallbearers will be Jason Reese, Jason Kreider, Eric Norton, Eric Price, Robert Price and Appollo Long.

Mrs. Kiker

Vera S. Kiker, 93, died June 15, 2003, in Lewes Convalescent Center in Lewes, Del. A family memorial service will be held in Comanche on July 12.
She and her late husband, Oliver Leo Kiker, lived on a farm in Texas before she moved to Delaware.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula Witt of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Oliver Leo Kiker of Anson and John Kiker of Newtown Square, Penn.; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Delaware Hospice 600 Dupont Highway, Georgetown, Del. 19947.

Mrs. Arrant

Barbara Joyce Arrant, 69, died June 17, 2003, in Whitney. Funeral services were held June 20 at Rutledge-Jones Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hico with Rev. John Gillentine officiating.
Mrs. Arrant was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Stephenville. She was married to Garland Arrant on May 8, 1950, in Arkansas.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Garland Arrant of Whitney; a daughter, Debbie Gillentine and husband Jerry of Hillsboro; sons, Michael Arrant and wife Debby of Midlothian, Teddy Guy Arrant and Mark Allen Arrant, both of Waukesha, Wis.; a sister, Maxine Harris of Granbury; 10 grand-children and a great-grandchild.
