Mrs. White

Funeral services for Ella Clydene White will be 2 p.m. Aug. 18, 2004 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don McCollum and Bro. Rudy Rios officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at Evergreen.
Mrs. White was born December 4, 1914 in Aleman, the daughter of D.P. Sargent and Stella Beacham Sargent. She attended Aleman and Ireland schools and graduated from Ireland High School in 1932. In that same year she married Sidney Earl White. They lived in the Evergreen community. She was a homemaker and active member of the Evergreen Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She has been a resident of Forrest Ridge Care Center for the last five years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and four brothers, Elvy, Lewis, Earl and Rhett Sargent.
Survivors include a son, Sidney C. White and wife Linda of Mesquite; a daughter, Martha Ann Paul and husband W.P. (Dubby) of Evergreen; four grandchildren, Cheri Rios and husband Rudy of Texas City; Shawn Paul and wife Anita of Gatesville; Kimberly Henry and husband Billy; Sherry McNabb and husband Brian all of Mesquite; nine great-grandchildren and a brother, D.P. Sargent Jr. of Dorchester.
Memorials may be made to CCS Hospice, P.O. Box 389, Dublin, TX 76446 or to the Evergreen Baptist Church, 2471 Cr 305, Jonesboro, TX 76538.
Pallbearers were Eddie Sargent, Robbie Sargent, Delvin Schmidt, John Johnson, Bob McFarlin, Calvin Williams.

Mr. McKandless

Billy (Bill) Eugene McKandless, 73, of Gustine died in Hamilton August 16, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. August 19 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Evergreen Cemetery in Gustine.
Mr. McKandless was born Nov. 12, 1930 in Hico, the son of B.D. McKandless and Ola Berkley McKandless.
He was a veteran serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict. On November 11, 1956 he was married to Laverne Kinsey at Anson. Together they raised a family of five children and ranched in Comanche County.
Survivors include his wife, Laverne McKandless of Gustine; son Ronnie and his wife Shelley Twiner of Everett, Washington; four daughters, Pam and her husband Harvey Williams of Stephenville, Sharon and her husband Charlie Seider of Comanche; Carolyn and Jack Kemp of Fort Worth and Penny and Bubba Busch of Lake Worth; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one sister Maxine Reed of Burnet.
He is preceded in death by one sister Loretta Bright.

Mr. Davis
Harold "Gene" Davis, died August 14, 2004 following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held August 16 at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Fairy Cemetery in Fairy.
Mr. Davis was a production manager at Cargill Flour Milling.
He was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Doris Davis; and brother, Hugh Wayne.
Survivors include his wife Jamie; children, Jeffrey Davis and Kelly Kamp; grandchildren, Derek, Kevin, Kaleigh and Christopher; brothers, Bobby Davis of Bedford, Charles Davis and wife Jane of Gatesville; sister, Patsy Davis of Bedford; sister-in-law, Jimmie Davis of Hewitt and his stepmother, Myrtle Davis of Hamilton.

Sharon LaVaughn Kinsey, 52, of Austin died April 6 at her home in Austin. Funeral services were held April 11 at 10 a.m. at graveside in the Pottsville Public Cemetery with David C. Hargrove officiating
Mrs. Kinsey was born July 21, 1953 in Brooksville, Fla, the daughter of Bige Melvin and Mary Marxen Thompson. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Kinsey of Austin; her parents of Wheaton, Minn.; three children, Melanie Chance of Austin, Steven Chance of Dallas and Billy Romo of Minnesota; five sisters, Debbid Yoemans of Rancon, Ga., Susan Murphy of Rochester, Minn., Nina Huntley of Ramona, Calif., Marion Nelson of Othertown, Minn. And Tereas McGowan of Perham, Minn; a brother, Herald McGowan of Sebeka, Minn; 11 grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Manning

Don Manning, 71, died April 10. Funeral services were set for April 12 in Johnson’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Russ Frasier officiating. Burial was to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
He was born March 19, 1935 in Brownwood, the son of Genevieve and Curtis Manning. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his mother; a brother, Curtis Manning; a sister, Deanna Byer; a son, Rocky Manning and wife Tina; a son, Tracy Manning and wife Krista; a daughter, Tammy Whitley; a daughter, Debbie Skipper and husband Randy; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and special friend Lois Warman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American heart Association at P.O. Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761.

Mrs. Christanson

Jewell Swanell Finstad Christianson, 92, died Sunday April 9, 2006. Memorial services will be held during Easter service April 16, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville, Texas. A celebration of her life will be held at 9:30 am hosted by Trinity Lutheran Women's Club.
She was born in Cranfills Gap on December 18, 1913, the daughter of Alfred and Tennie (Hastings) Finstad. She spent the majority of her life in Hamilton County and the surrounding areas.
Mrs. Christanson graduated from Cranfills Gap High School on April 30, 1932 as class Salutatorian. She continued the next ten years focusing on her education, travel, and working.
She was married to Carl John “Ted” Christianson on February 14, 1942
Mrs. Christianson was a devoted wife, mother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She spent most of her life working as a beautician, housewife, and managing a farm in Pottsville.
She was also devoted to Trinity Lutheran Church of Pottsville where she was a member.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sister, Ione Blue, and an infant brother and sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Schumann and husband Charles of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Sherry Woodyard and husband Curtis Woodyard of Austin, Charlene Glimp and husband Bryan of Hutto, Charles Walter Schumann Jr. of Hamilton, and Sharla Suzanne Resseguie of Cedar Park; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley Woodyard, Kristen and Karl Glimp, Megan Schumann, and Dylan and Jewell Resseguie; a brother-in-law, Harry Blue and two nieces Rebecca Rushing and Angie Little.

Georgia Jane Grubb Creel

Georgia Jane Grubb Creel, 83, of Gatesville, died April 10, 2007 at a local nursing center. Graveside services were held April 13 at Grubb Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Jonathan Swanson officiating.
Mrs. Creel was born July 4, 1923 in Ireland, the daughter of the late Thomas Nelson Grubb and Myrtle Guyton Grubb. She graduated from Ireland High School in 1941.
She did her nursing training as Seton Hospital in Austin and graduated from Northwestern State College in Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She served as a Navy nurse in WWII and was a commissioned officer. She lived in five states and in China.
She was married to Master Sgt John F. Quicksall in 1946 and Dr. Wylie F. Creel in 1958. They both preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by a son James Michael Quicksall.
Survivors include a step-son, Richard N. Creel; brother, James Wiley Grubb and wife Lenora; a nephew, George Grubb; one niece, Patricia Toombs and husband Dan and two great-nephews, Jason and Nathan.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Creel Nursing Scholarship at Scott & White in Temple; First Presbyterian Church in Gatesville; the Gatesville Public Library or the Grubb Community Charitable Trust at Grubb Cemetery at The National Bank of Gatesville.

Thomas Jefferson Hufstetler

Thomas Jefferson Hufstetler, 17, died April 3, 2007 at Scott and White Hospital. Memorial services were held at Lacy Funeral Home in Stephenville on Saturday April 7.
He was born in Stephenville on Sept. 12, 1989.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Helen and John MacKenzie
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his mother, Libby MacKenzie of Hamilton; his father, Mark Hufstetler of San Saba; a brother, Robert Hufstetler and wife Cristal and their children Haylie and Mason of Belton; sisters, Jennifer McKinnerney and husband Mike and their children Micheal and Mykah of Richland Springs; Anne Hufstetler of Dallas and Mollye Hufstetler and brother-in-law Abel Valdez and children Jarren, Hannah, Tyler, Allie and Ruthie of San Saba; his paternal grandparents Ruth Hufstetler of Arkansas and Mark T. Hufstetler of Florida as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins across the country.
In lieu of flowers the family requests you send donations to the Thomas Jefferson Hufstetler Memorial Fund which will be used for charitable causes - those donations can be made at Bank of America. The family would like to thank all who donate, so please note your name on the receipt at the time of donation. Harold Keith Lackey

Harold Keith Lackey, 67, of Hico died May 6, 2008 at Hico Nursing and Rehab Center. Memorial services were held May 10 at 2 p.m. at the Hico Church of Christ with Mark Roberts and Gary Montgomery officiating.
Mr. Lackey was born July 5, 1940 in Fairy, the son of Bill and Edna Lackey. He lived most of his life in Hico and worked as a telephone repair clerk for Bell Telephone.
He was a member of the Hico Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Hamilton County Genealogical Society, the Irving Metroplex Glass Club, the Sons of American Revolution and was vice president of the Hamilton Historical Commission.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Lackey.
Survivors include his son, Raegan William Lackey of Roanoke; grandchildren, Trevor Williams Lackey and Lacie McGhee, both of Roanoke as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Hico Church of Christ Navajo Mission Fund or the Hico Historical Society.

L.A. “Babe” Summers

L.A. “Babe” Summers 93 of Burleson, a retired labor negotiator for the National Electrical Contractors Association, died May 7, 2008 in Hamilton. Graveside services were held at Burleson Memorial Park.
Laurel Ambrose Summers was born Ag. 15, 1914 in Ray, North Dakota to Charles Andrew and Mary Heinen Summers.
He was married to Mary McGhee on June 29, 1945 in Brownwood. He proudly served his country as a lieutenant in the US Army during WW II. He was instrumental in setting up blood banks for the Red Cross in St. Paul, Minn. and Waco.
Mr. Summers was a member of First Baptist Church of Burleson, a devout Christian who taught Sunday school his entire life, and never stopped spreading God's Word.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and his wife of 54 years, Mary McGhee Summers on Feb. 6, 2000.
Survivors were sons, Charles Summers and wife, Billye of Ovilla, James Summers and wife, Tina of Hamilton, Glen Summers and wife, Dana of Burleson; grandchildren, Charlie, Matthew, Jason, Joseph, and Steven Summers, Shelly Lengefeld, Staci Pollard, Stephanie Cranford.
