Ertis Ethel Kulla
Ertis Ethel Kulla, 81 of the Ireland Community died peacefully at a Waco nursing home on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Ireland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Gatesville Funeral Home.
She was born on March 7, 1927 in Borden County to the late Marshall and Mollie (Mathews) Davis. She grew up and went to school in Murphy and had resided in the Ireland community since 1950. Mrs. Kulla was a Christian and a member of the Purmela Baptist Church.
Survivors include; sons, Marshall Dobson and wife Barbara of Grand Prairie and Michael Neyland and wife Deana of Ireland; daughter, Annette McClary of Hewitt; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl Davis and wife Mary of Clinton, Okla. and Marvin Davis and wife Betty of Brownsboro.
Pallbearers were Marshall Ray Dobson, Troy Dobson, Lance Holden, Mike Nolan, Keith Lowrey and Jimmy Paul.

Horace Jones (Peefee) Fowler
Horace Jones Fowler, formerly of Hamilton, died in Dallas on Friday, May 9, 2008. Funeral services were held at the Sparkman-Crane Funeral Chapel on May 16, 2008. Burial followed at the National military Cemetery on Patriot Parkway overlooking Mountain Creek Lake.
Known to Hamilton friends and family as “Peefee,” Mr. Fowler was born in Hamilton in 1928. His father, Horace Fowler was called Big Peefee and thus Horace Jones was called Little Peefee. His dad was a long time employee of the Hamilton Post Office as a rural mail carrier for the Blue Ridge, Ohio, Liberty and Aleman communities. His mother was Margaret Maloney Miller Fowler (Lonie to family and friends). She was descended from the pioneer Miller family (one of the five first families to settle in Hamilton County in 1856). She was a sister to the late R. B. Miller, long-time business man and former Gulf Oil consignee in the county. Horace Jones was first cousin to Virginia Miller McLemore of Odessa; the late Bob Miller, owner and publisher of the Hamilton Herald-News and the late Elizabeth Miller Gunn, owner of the Miller-Gunn Firestone Store.
He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1945. He was a member of the Hamilton High Bulldog football team. Upon graduation, he went directly into the U. S. Navy and served until discharged. He attended the University of Texas in Austin and became a life long strong supporter of the Longhorns.
Mr. Fowler then began a long career as a salesman and manufacturers representative for various companies. In 1950 he married Dixie Boatright of Hamilton and they lived most of their married life in Dallas. Dixie preceded Horace in death in 2006. Horace is survived by 3 daughters, Vickie Deadman of Terrell; Michelle Fowler of Dallas; and Stacy Biggs of Fort Worth, Texas; and a number of grandchildren.

Mrs. Richardson
Virdie (Shorty) Richardson, 93, died in her daughter’s home in Joshua on May 29, 2002. Graveside services were held May 31 at 10 a.m.
She was born in Little River on April 28, 1901, the daughter of C.H. and Josephine Webb. She moved to Hamilton in 1968 where she worked for many years caring for the elderly as a nursing assistant at the Leisure Lodge.
Mrs. Richardson was a Christian and a member of the Baptist church. She was a wonderful mother and a caring friend to many.
She is preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, three children, three stepchildren, her husband, Jess Richardson and many friends.
Survivors include two sisters, Annie Rooser and Juanita Parker; children and step-children, C.H. Webb, Betty Glassman, Judy Threet, Delta Howard, Paul Richardson, Jesse Richardson, J.M. Richardson, Virtie Powell, Vesta Dewbre, Donie Richardson, L.D. Richardson and Betty Boggs; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. White
Maggie Estelle White of Hamilton and most recently of Bedford, died on May 28, at a Bedford hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. May 31 at Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Jim Townsend officiating.
She was born February 11, 1934, the daughter of Charlie and Mollie Carson Cozby. She was married to Elbert Lincoln White who preceded her in death on April 5, 1974.
She was also preceded in death by her children, Jonnie Glen White and Charlene Schmidt.
Mrs. White was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton, Texas.
She is survived by her brother, Alton "Pete" Cozby and his family of Hamilton; grandson, Steve White and wife Rhonda and their children Danny and Melissa of Bedford; Grandson, Geoffrey White and wife Lisa and their daughter Amber of Euless; granddaughter, Jennifer Cumbie and husband Lee and their children Jonathon and Mary Kathyn of Euless and granddaughter, Heather Jones and her daughter Rebekah of Euless; a number of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Mrs. Eidson
Pauline Eidson, 90 of Corsicana, died May 31, 2002 at Twilight Home. Funeral services were held June 4 at Corley Funeral Chapel in Corsicana. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton on June 5.
Mrs. Eidson was born in Adamsville on Dec. 5, 1911. She was a housewife and a member of Central Methodist Church. She worked as a pink lady for eight years in the old hospital.
She was a member of Merak Temple #104 in Waco, Daughter of the Nile and Past Matron of Corsicana Chapter #118 Order of Eastern Star and she loved to bowl.
Mrs. Eidson was preceded in death by her husband, Barnwell Rhett Eidson Jr.; a son, Knighten Rhett Eidson and a grandson, Randy Gillen.
Survivors include her beloved friend Wayne Mays of Lemon Grove, Calif; a daughter, Reta Patricia and husband Herman Gillen of Corsicana; sisters, Irene Sargent of Iowa Park, Ada Kalina of Solvang, Calif, Nada Sullivan of Granbury, Fay Oglesby of Hamilton; grandson, Danny and wife Terri Gillen of Corsicana; granddaughters, Paula and husband Eric Trojacek of Ennis; Rhetta Wasinger of Emhouse; great-granddaughters, Amie Gillen, Katie Gillen and Misty Gillen of Corsicana; great-grandsons, Jeremy Crawford of Emhouse; great-grandson, Jeremy Crawford of Emhouse; great-granddaughter, Amanda Crawford of Ennis; great-grandson, Cody Trojacek of Ennis; great-grandson Jacob Wasinger of Emhouse and Dalton Wasinger of Emhouse.

Mrs. Pruitt
Ora Lee Pruitt, 85, died May 19 at a Hurst care center. Funeral services were conducted May 22 at Brown Trail Church of Christ. Burial was in the New I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hamilton.
She was born in Canadian, the son of Leslie H. and Bertha (Hampton) King on Dec. 12, 1916. Her mother died when Mrs. Pruitt was three and her second mother was Irene (Welch) King.
Mrs. Pruitt had two brothers, Alfred and Pascal and a sister, Mary Carolyn King.
Mrs. Pruitt was a graduate of Canadian High School. She married Cled Pruitt of Hamilton on Sept. 24, 1938 and attended college at John Tarleton, Abilene Christian, Texas A&M and Texas Christian.
During World War II, she was employed in quality control at the Pantex ordinance division located in Amarillo.
She was a certified Montesorri teacher, and taught her last 10 years at Dean Private School in Fort Worth.
Mrs. Pruitt became a member of the Church of Christ in 1936 and currently had a membership at Brown Trail Church of Christ in Bedford.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Byron and wife Sarah (Day) Pruitt; Dale and wife Jamie (Rogers) Pruitt of Hurst; a daughter, Carol Pruitt of Richland Hills; a brother, Alfred and wife Laverne (Traylor) King; a sister, Mary Carolyn (King) Rowley of Amarillo; grandchildren, Terry, Michael, Christopher, Eric, Lindsey, Claire, Emily and James; great-grandchildren, James, John, Zac and Abby.

Mr. Tyson
Lee Oran Tyson passed away Friday May 31, 2002 at Hamilton. Graveside services were held Tuesday June 4, 2002 at the Union Cemetery at Gustine.
Mr. Tyson was born July 21, 1932 in the Wilson community of Comanche County, the son of the late Thomas M. Tyson and Ethel Stewart Tyson.
He was married to Betty Jean Crews on April 12, 1950 at Comanche and was retired from Sprint Telephone Company. He was veteran of the Army and a member of the VFW Post 4148 at Hamilton. He was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Tyson of Jonesboro; four children, Betty Batte of Medford, Ore; David Tyson of Hamilton, Victor Tyson and Tony Tyson both of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers Duain Tyson of Priddy and Loy Tyson of Midlothian.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Una Eileen Summers and two brothers Toy Tyson and T.J. Tyson.

Mr. Harris
William A. (Bill) Harris passed away at his resident at Evant Sunday. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Evant. Burial will be 3 p.m. June 5 at Elmwood Memorial Cemetery at Abilene.
Mr. Harris was born November 24, 1937 at Belton, Texas, the son of the late William Ashley "Dub" Harris and Juanita Turland Harris.
Mr. Harris was a veteran serving his country in the Air Force. He retired from Lone Star Gas Company with thirty-one years of service with the company. He spent a number of those years in Hamilton serving Hamilton and the surrounding area.
He was married to Karen Faye England in 1956 she preceded him in death on January 3, 1995. On November 30, 1997 he and Mary C. Williams Brown were united in marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Harris of Evant; three children, Saadia Lynn Arnold of Temple, William "Bill" Travis Harris of Belton and Darryl Zane Harris of Moody; three stepchildren, Texanne Brown of Hamilton, Albert Gale Brown of Abilene and Charles Timothy Brown of Evant; twelve grandchildren, several great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Howe of Buffalo Gap; Linda Herbert of Cutoff, La. and Cheryl Maddox of Abilene.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Harris.

Mrs. Brumbalow
Gussie Mae Brumbalow Maloy 81 of Kingsville, died Nov.1, 2002 in Corpus Christi. Funeral services were held Tuesday November 5, 2002 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Davis officiating with interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Brumbalow was born January 4, 1921 in San Saba County, the daughter of the late Joe B. and Ruby Jeffrey Brumbalow.
She was married to Carroll Dee Maloy on Sept. 15, 1945. He precedes her in death with his passing on July 31, 1979.
Mrs. Brumbalow was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to work in her garden and attend to her flowers. She was a member of the Baptist. Church.
Survivors include two children, Carol Ann Jencks and husband Ronald of Kingsville, Danny Joe Maloy and wife Joyce of Dallas; two sisters, Faye Nettleton of Fort Worth and Sue Nettleton of Clyde; one brother, J.B. (Jess) Brumbalow; and four grandchildren, Kimberly Herring, Dee Ann Hernandez, Brad Maloy and Kevin Jencks.
Pallbearers were Marty Hernandez, Jaime Hernandez, Kevin Jencks, Brad Maloy, Jimmy Maloy and Ben Brumbalow.

Mr. Dyer
Sylvester "Syl" Dyer, 78 of Hamilton, died Nov. 4 at Forest Oaks Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Dick Stovall and Chris Frizzel officiating.
Burial will follow in the new I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mr. Dyer was born September 8, 1924 at Pittsburgh, Okla., the son of the late Hardy H. and Alice Reading Dyer.
He was married to Deanie May Lewis on Nov. 10, 1950 at Hamilton.
Mr. Dyer was a veteran of Navy serving during World War II. He served the City of Hamilton for 38 years retiring as City Work Supervisor. He served on many volunteer programs and retired from the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department after many years of service to Hamilton and Hamilton County. He was a member of Parks Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Deanie May Lewis Dyer of Hamilton; two children, Randy Dyer of Hamilton and Sylvia Dowell of Slaton; four grandchildren, several great- grandchildren, two sisters, Rosie Mathis of Colgate, Oklahoma and Virgie Norris of Fort Worth and one brother, A.C. Dyer.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Pallbearers were Ricky Lewis, Mike Lewis, Justin Lewis, Rickey Dyer and Gene Dyer. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department.
