Doris Inez Henricks
Doris Inez Hendricks, 83, of Waco, passed away early Saturday morning, May 31, 2003, at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2003, at Waco Memorial Park South (formerly called Chapel Hill) with the Rev. Mark Wible officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Inez was born February 18, 1920, in Palestine to Elijah W. and Mary Della (Griffith) Thompson. The family moved to Waco in March of 1930. She was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church, and worked for many years as a nurse?s aide at Hillcrest Hospital in the newborn infants section.
She was proud to serve her country as a PFC in the Women?s Army Corps from November 1942 to February 1943, and reenlisted in 1949. She was stationed in Florida and Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was a member of the American Legion.
She will be greatly missed by the residents of William Booth Garden Apartments where she had resided for the past ten years.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eunice Nell Thompson and Ruby Ballard, and two brothers, Archie E. Thompson and Vernon E. Thompson.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Inez White of Waco; sisters, Audrey R. Peterson and husband Pernell of Waco, and Evangeline R. Terry and husband Metz of Bradenton, Fla.; grandson, Nicholas White and his wife Stephanie of Waco; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Hillcrest Hospice for their care, as well as to the staffs of Hillcrest Hospital, Quality Care, and Jeffrey Place Nursing Homes, and for the special love shown to Inez and the family by lifelong friend, Rilla Lawson.

Weldon Clay Wells
Weldon C. Wells, 74, of Waco died Saturday August 16, 2003 at a local hospital. Services are 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum with Bert Mercer, Dale and Wayne Wells officiating. Keven Wells will lead the Congregational Music. Burial will be in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Weldon was born on December 20, 1928 in Lamesa to Herbert Clay and Jewel (Moore) Wells. He started preaching at the age of 16 and was united in marriage to Joann Richards. Weldon graduated from Freed-Hardleman in Henderson, TN. He preached at West Church of Christ, in a church in Clifton for ten years, Aquilla for 30 years and was the County Auditor for McLennan County for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife Joann Wells of Waco; sons, Dale Wells and wife Mary of Indio, Calif, Wayne Wells and wife Cindy of Gainesboro, TN, Keven Wells and wife Donna of Richmond, VA, Troy Wells and wife Laurie of Moody; daughter, Donna Mixon and husband Terry of League City; brothers, Glen Wells and wife Annelle of Clifton, Doyle Wells and wife Kay of Austin and Ray Wells and wife Sharon of Bellview; 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and many other family members and very close friends. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association. Memorial guestbook at www.oakcrestwaco.com.
Weldon was a loving husband, father, doting grandfather, great-grandfather and was like a father to all who knew him.

Curtis Lee Neatherlin
Curtis Lee Neatherlin, 45, of Waco, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2003, at his home.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2003, at OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dorisanne Cooper and Rev. Nathan Stone officiating.
Visitation with the family will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m, Saturday, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.
Curtis was born July 21, 1958, in San Antonio to Bruce and Dorothy Neatherlin. A resident of Waco for 40 years, he was a graduate of Richfield High School and TSTC. He was retired from the City of Waco, and was a member of Lake Shore Baptist Church.
Curtis was married August 18, 1979 to Kathy Williams Neatherlin.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Neatherlin of Waco; son, Matthew Neatherlin of Waco; daughter, Alicia Neatherlin of Waco; parents, Bruce and Dorothy Neatherlin of Waco; sister, Jacque Neatherlin of Dallas; his mother-in-law, Norma Williams of Duncanville, and father-in-law, Neil Williams of Waco, and his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Joan Beckham
Joan Beckham, 61, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, went to join the Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2003, after a courageous and hard fought battle against cancer.
SERVICES: Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 26 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with the Rev. G. Allen Grant and the Rev. Billy Mac Patteson officiating.
Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, at OakCrest Funeral Home. A memorial videotape honoring Joan's life will be shown continuously during the visitation.
BIOGRAPHY: Joan was born to J.W. and Leonta Curton on December 23, 1941 in Waco. She married Clyde C. Beckham on October 27, 1968.
She graduated from Waco High in 1960 and was in the banking industry for many years until her retirement from Extraco Bank. She was a member of the American Business Women?s Association Huaco Chapter, and was the 2001 Business Woman of the Year.
She was a very involved mother in her children and other children's lives. She served on the China Spring Youth Association Board for 13 years and loved attending sporting events.
She was a member of the China Spring United Methodist Church. She was also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant sister, Bertha Jean Curton.
SURVIVORS: Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Clyde C. Beckham of China Spring; one daughter, Stacy Schmitt and husband Chris of Lorena; two sons, Cory Beckham of Waco and Gilby Beckham and wife Donna of West; her pride and joy, granddaughter Hailey Schmitt of Lorena; uncle, Duncan Curton of Stephenville; sister, Betty Hardy of China Spring; and many close friends.
A VERY SPECIAL PERSON - Joan will be remembered by many for her courage and strong sense of pride for her family.
PALLBEARERS: Pallbearers will be Thad Barker, Mike Fanning, Tony Kubacak, Johnny Mankin, Jimmy Morgan, Alan Morris, Dale Norris and Alan Rieger. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Nixon and Wayne West.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, China Spring United Methodist Church or the China Spring Youth Athletic Association.

Chris Winkler
Chris Winkler, 78, retired Fire Marshal for the City of Waco, passed away suddenly Monday night, August 25, 2003, at his home.
SERVICES: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2003, at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father Melvin Dornak as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. Visitation with the family will follow.
Born September 5, 1924, in Tours, he was the son of Sebastian and Janie (Kasberg) Winkler. He was married on September 2, 1946, in Waco to Lena Michalewicz.
Chris proudly served on the City of Waco Fire Department for 43 years until his retirement in 1990. His last 15 years of service was as the City of Waco Fire Marshall.
He served in the Army during WWII, and was a past commander of VFW Post 428.
Chris was an avid Domino player and he really enjoyed to fish. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dan Winkler; and sisters, Lillie Dulak and Tracie Muras.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lena Winkler of Waco; two daughters, Sandra Oxner and her husband Jerry of El Paso, and Sharon Winkler of Dallas; grandson, Gary Oxner of El Paso; sisters, Elnora Dulak of Waco, and Christine Fryer and her husband Roland of Waco; sister-in-law, Doris Winkler of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews.
PALLBEARERS: Pallbearers will be John Winkler, Mark Winkler, Ernest Ray Dulak, Paul Muras, David Michalewicz, Tony Hoelscher, Patrick Michaleqicz, and James Caldwell.
HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Officers and members of the Waco Fire Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.
MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to St. Martin's Cemetery Association, 1185 Berger Road, West, TX 76691.

Mary Sanchez
Mary L. Sanchez, 70 of Waco, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at a local hospital.
Services will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. in the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at Oakwood Cemetery of Waco.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial videotape of Mary's life will be shown continuously during the visitation.
Mary was born August 17, 1933 in Bremond to James Sanchez and Ignacia Martinez. She was a homemaker and had retired from Piccadilly Cafeteria. She never turned away a stranger and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She was also very independent and proud. Mary was a very special lady to all. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Cruz; a daughter, Tiresa Cruz, and a great-grandson, Dominic Noah Rodriguez.
She is survived by sons, Manuel Sanchez and wife Linda Garcia of Waco, David Felan and his wife Maria of Midlothian, and Roy Cruz of Waco; daughters, Julia Rodriguez and husband Pedro of Waco, Janie Ortiz and husband Bill, Aurora Molina and husband Tony of Waco, Irene Cruz of Hillsboro, and Lola Ramos and husband Evaristo of Itaska; brother, Joe Sanchez and wife Inez of Marlin; sister, Janie Gonzalez of Madison, California; 37 grandchildren, and 47 great-grandchildren.

Paulette Camille Todar
Paulette Camille Todar, 60, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2003, in a Waco hospital.
A cremation was held.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 20, 2003, at St. Louis Catholic Church of Waco. OakCrest Funeral Home of Waco is handling arrangements.
Paulette was born September 15, 1942 in Waco to Charles Paul and Billie (Nelson) Todar. She graduated from Waco High School and received a BA from North Texas State University.
Paulette was an accomplished artist who exhibited her works in many exhibits. She illustrated children?s books, and was also talented at weaving and making jewelry. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Todar; and sister, Yvonne Todar.
She is survived by brother, Richard Todar of Houston, and eight nephews.

Dominic Noah Rodriguez
Dominic Noah Rodriguez, infant son of Julian and Melissa Rodriguez of Waco, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2003, in a Waco hospital.
Graveside services will be 9:00 am Friday at the Waco Memorial Park under the direction of OakCrest Funeral home.
He is survived by his parents, grandparents, Pedro and Julia Rodriguez of Waco and Juanita Beltran of Waco.

Louise Norman
Louise Norman, 94 of Waco died Saturday September 6, 2003 at a local care center. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Ernie Christie officiating. Burial will be in the Waco Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be From 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd. The funeral home will be open from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Sunday.
Louise was born on July 29, 1909 in Mississippi to John Luther and Esther Odella (Billingsley) Waters. She was united in marriage to Albert Wilford Norman on June 3, 1927. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was a member of the Lake Shore Church of Christ and was a long time Christian example. Louise was an excellent seamstress, great cook, Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Norman and wife Jo of Seymour and John Norman and wife Evelyn of Dallas; daughter, Pat Combs and husband Mike of Waco; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 sister-in-law.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Eddy and Jonathan Combs, Tim, John, Jim and Joe Norman.
Memorials to the Youth Ministries at the Lakeshore Church of Christ and the New Road Church of Christ.

Dorothy L. Longfellow
Dorothy L. Longfellow, 90, of Woodway, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2003, in a Waco hospital. A Requiem Eucharist celebrating Dorothy's life will be held at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1624 Wooded Acres Drive, Waco, at 1 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2003, with Father John Wells officiating. There will be no visitation, but friends may come by the funeral home and sign the register book. OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque (right across the street from the Heart of Texas Fair Complex), is handling the arrangements for her family.
Dorothy was born April 8, 1913, in Maryetta, Ohio, to Clyde and Lillian (King) Bratcher. She was married August 28, 1929 in Akron, Ohio, to Clifford B. Longfellow who preceded her in death in 1969. She was a homemaker until her husband's death, then she became a pastry baker. Dorothy was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Waco.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who lived a wonderful and full life, Dorothy will be greatly missed by her adoring family. We are so thankful and honored that Dorothy was an important part of our lives, and we know we are better people because of her devotion to God and to her family.
Surviving Dorothy are daughters, Doris Carter and husband Dan of Woodway, and Lois Freeman and husband Dan of Naples, Florida; grandchildren, Mary Kay Hawkins, Gary Carter, Melissa Bennett, Daniel Carter, Daniell Freeman, and Nicole Freeman; and great-grandchildren, Jennifer Hawkins, Robert Bennett, Andrew Carter, Kaveigh Bennett, Austin Carter, Sarah Bennett, Sean Bennett, Seantel Freeman, Richard Freeman, and Gary Carter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
