Betty Lou McCool

Betty Lou McCool, age 82, of Gustine departed from this life on Monday, March 10, at the Hamilton Health Care Center.
She was born July 25, 1925 near Alva, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Perry C. and Maudie Snow Jespersen. She married Billy D. McCool on May 30, 1945 in Gulfport, Mississippi. They were the parents of one daughter, Sandra Fae. At the end of World War II, she and her husband returned to Texas and Oklahoma to spend her life as the loving wife and mother to her small family.
Betty was a devoted church member for all her adult life, serving as s Sunday School teacher, choir member, and administrative board member in either the Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church or the United Methodist Church. She had been a member of the Gustine United Methodist Church since 1972.
She is survived by her husband, Billy D. McCool of Gustine, Her daughter, Sandra Fae and husband Gayle Harris of Boerne, her granddaughter, Shannon and husband John Sivek of San Antonio, her sister, Helen Becker of Roscommon, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Vale Jaspersen.
A private burial service was held at the Siloam Cemetery attended by family members and close friends under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Comanche.
A commemorative service of her life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, April 13, at the Gustine United Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Hall officiating. All who knew Betty are invited to attend. The program will include participation by the Church and the Community Choir.
Memorials are requested to be made to the Gustine United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 102, Gustine, Texas 76455 or to the Shiloam Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 224, Gustine, Texas 76455.

Mildred Kathleen Wisdom

Mildred Kathleen Wisdom, 99, of Hamilton died April 5, 2008 in the Hamilton General Hospital. Graveside services were held April 6, 2008 in the Pottsville Public Cemetery.
Ms. Wisdom was born February 9, 1909 in Pottsville, the daughter of Van and Fannie McPherson Wisdom. Kathleen attended school at Lund through 6th grade.
Her family moved to Stephenville Texas in 1921. She attended 7th and 8th grade at Stephenville. Her family moved to Lund Valley Hamilton County and she attended the Lund School in the 9th and 10th grades.
Ms. Wisdom graduated from Hamilton High School in 1926. From the fall of 1926 until May of 1927 she attended the John Tarleton College at Stephenville. She transferred to Southwest State College at San Marcos where she received her degree in Mathematics. After graduation she taught school at Pecan and Union in Hamilton County.
Ms. Wisdom moved to Crystal City and taught from 1934 till 1942. She moved to Del Rio Texas in 1942 and taught until 1953. She left Del Rio and moved to Odessa in 1953.
Ms. Wisdom taught high school math until her resignation in 1960 and came back to the Hamilton area to take care of her aged parents. After her parents’ death she taught math at Gustine High School from 1964 until 1970.
Ms. Wisdom retired from teaching in 1970 after a teaching career that spanned 38 years. She touched many people’s lives, was a positive person, was always so interested in world affairs and loved poetry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bill Wisdom, and a sister Evelyn Wisdom.
She is survived by numerous cousins.

Faye Childre

Faye Childre, 91, of Hamilton died April 4, 2008. Funeral services were held April 9, in the Hamilton First Baptist Church with Shane Alexander officiating. Burial followed in the Moore Memorial Cemetery in Arlington.
Mrs. Childre was born September 24, 1916 in Ranger, the daughter of David B. and Lenna Waggoner Thompson.
She was married to Donald Edmund Childre in Goldthwaite on May 26, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She was a member of the Hamilton First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Childre was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, and great-great grandmother.
Survivors include her son, David Childre of Lexington Kentucky; a daughter Donette Harpole of Belton; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Waldrep

Ines Viola Waldrep, 98, of Carlton, died Aug. 20, 2002 at her residence. Funeral services conducted by Rev. David Keith and Rev. Chris Irvin Aug. 23 at Rutledge-Jones Funeral Home. Burial was at Gardens of Memory in Stephenville.
She was born May 16, 1904 in McLennan County. Mrs. Waldrep was married to Dallas D. Waldrep in Hamilton County on Jan. 9, 1921. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Hico.
Survivors include her daughters, Valene Herzog of Carlton and Carolyn Letzkus of Granbury; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Moore

Mark Gregory Moore, 37, died Aug. 20 at Weatherford.
He was born February 27, 1965, at Bryan, Texas, the son of Byron Dick (Dee) Moore and Ruthanne Foster Moore.
He grew up in Bryan, graduating from Bryan High School in 1983. He received a business administrative degree from Sam Houston State University in 1988.
While growing up he worked in the concrete business with his father.
From 1988 to 1991, he worked with Hayes County Gravel. In 1991, he joined Ingram Enterprises where he was a sales manager. He loved to hunt, play golf and cook. He loved to please others first and foremost.
He was preceded in death by his father, B. D. Moore, and a brother, Barry Lynn Moore.
Survivors include his mother, Ruthanne Moore of Bryan; brothers, Lonnie Moore and Byron Moore of Bryan, Steve Moore of Houston; his true love, Emily Taylor of Newark, TX; one niece; three nephews; cousins located in the Hamilton area and a number of friends.
Pallbearers were Lonnie Moore, Steve Moore, Jack Culpepper, Curtis Westover, Steve Mowrey, Orlando Garcia and Byron Moore.

Mr. Buster

Jack Cecil Buster 59, died Aug. 23, 2002. Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Gatesville with Rev. Willie Clark officiating. Burial followed in Turnersville Cemetery.
Mr. Buster was born on November 1, 1942, the son of Cecil Clyde Buster and Edith Louise Kays in Ater, Texas. He lived most of his life in and around the Gatesville area.
Mr. Buster served his country in the Navy from 1959 - 1963. He was the leader of a fire rescue unit and he was also a diplomatic courier. When he returned home from the Navy, he went into farming and ranching, which he loved.
He was married to Linda Suzann Stouwie on January 26, 1970.
Answering God's calling, he became an Ordained Minister and the pastor of a church in Austin, where he had a ministry to the homeless bringing them to church, providing food and clothing and teaching them the word of God. He also had a prison ministry at the Murray Unit in Gatesville.
Mr. Buster enjoyed the simple things in life. To know him was to know he had a heart bigger than the sky. He put the well being of others before himself. His most valued possession was his family especially his grandchildren, whom he spoiled rotten. His family extended to countless others who lovingly referred to him as Chief, Pops, Old Man and Dad. He opened his door to total strangers and gave his last dime to someone in need, knowing that he would have to make sacrifices himself.
Survivors include his two son Bobby and wife Karlene of Jonesboro and Zack of Hamilton; a daughter Janna and husband Carlos Hernandez; nine grandchildren, Courtney Mathew, Gerritt, Lance, Faith, Carlos, Charlene, Gabriel and Michael; his mother, Edith Buster; sisters, Frances Wilameny, Christine Grizzle of Hamilton and Sandi Frost and husband Bill of Arlington; brothers Jim Buster and wife Lisa of Hamilton and Willie Buster and wife Shirley of Waxahachie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Teddy.
Pallbearers were Bobby Buster, Zack Buster, Carlos Hernandez, Jason Buster, Mike McGaha, Jeremiah Ramson, Damon Thompson and Jerry Thompson.

Mrs. Haile

Joyce M. Atchley Schronk Haile, 74, died August 25, 2002 at Stephenville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Murphree Cemetery at Evant.
She was born January 8, 1928 in Woodson, TX., Throckmorton County, the daughter of Delmar & Iva Mytle "Wolfe" Atchley.
She attended school at West Point in Hamilton County. She was married to Lawrence Ervin Schronk on February 27, 1947 in Hamilton and William Ray Haile on April 20, 1973 in Hamilton Co.
Mrs. Haile was a homemaker and a loving mother. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Sharon Kay Schronk; her parents; three brothers, R.L. Atchley, Gene Atchley and Billy Atchley and a sister, Iweeta Atchley Brewer.
Survivors include six sons; Lawrence Ervin Schrank Jr. of Stephenville, Robert Schronk and his wife Gloria of Hamilton; Kenneth D. Schronk and his wife Kelly of Dublin, Jimmy L. Schronk and his wife Brenda of Hamilton, Ricky Schronk of Stephenville, Martin Ray Schronk of Navasota, and a daughter Pamela Kay Schronk Sandoval and her husband Pilar of Stephenville; one sister, Lucille Atchley Proctor of Cohoma; eighteen grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren; one aunt, Allie Flippen Atchley of Hamilton; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Wade Schronk, David Graham, James Clayton Proctor, Michael Atchley, Ronnie White, and Gilbert Rodriguez.

Mr. Jameson

J.L. “Red” Jameson, 82, died Aug. 22 in Fort Worth. Memorial services were held Aug. 26 at the Chapel of Chimes.
He was retired from Lennox Air Conditioning. He served in the military as Cpl. AAF in 1942, training at Sheppard Field, Texas and Will Rogers Field, Okla. He served in Africa and Sicily. He was awarded a World War II Victory Medal, Meritorious Service Unit Plaque, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, American Theatre Service Medal and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.I. and Homa Jameson, Ruby Jameson, Ruth Lewis, Norma Lewis, Ottis Jameson, Gordon Jameson and Morton Jameson.
Survivors include his wife, Lena A. Jameson; daughters, Cindy A. Gossage, Billie D. Ansley and Elizabeth A. Blackburn; a son, Layton Jameson; grandchildren, Joshua K. Jernigan, Kati L. Blackburn, Sara E. Gossage, Jammy L. Jameson and Amanda M. Jameson; great-grandchildren, Joshua T. Jernigan and Ethan J. Jernigan; brothers and sisters, Ada Titus, Jessie Jameson and Barbarette Sikes and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Harbin

Robert Lee Harbin, 51, of Richland Springs, died August 21, 2002 in Richland Springs. Funeral services were held August 26 at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Lee Lewis officiating. Burial was at the Eastland City Cemetery.
He was born February 10, 1951 in Ranger, the son of Jeff and Jean Harris Harbin. He was married to Donna Roberson on September 17, 1977 in Eastland. They made their home in Richland Springs for the past three years, where he was employed by the Texas Youth Commission as a juvenile corrections officer in San Saba, Texas.
Mr. Harbin was a member of the Rodeo Association of Richland Springs and a member of the congregation of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Harbin of Richland Springs; two sons, Jeff Harbin and Dennis Harbin both of Richland Springs; five sisters, Sharon Lewis and her husband Mike of Eastland, Suzanne Magin and her husband Johnny of Stephenville, Mary Jane Helms and her husband Tim of Ennis, Sheryl Palmer and her husband Larry of Livingston and Monica Henderson and her husband Kevin of Cisco; nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family request that memorials be made to the Richland Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

Mrs. Manning

Vivian Ruth Key Manning died Feb. 20, 2004. Private services were held at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
Mrs. Manning was born in Hamilton on Aug. 24, 1918, the daughter of Kenneth Curry Key and Mary Iter Lewis Key.
She was married to Clarence Cecil “Snort” Manning on April 26, 1936. They lived in Hamilton for several years before moving to Bay City in the mid 1950s. There they opened “Manning’s Sewing Circle,” a family business that sold fabric, sewing machines and notions.
Mrs. Manning taught hat making, was a seamstress, tailor, milliner, shopkeeper and housekeeper.
The couple retired in the early 1980s and moved to Temple. She enjoyed gardening, keeping her flower beds and being with her family.
She moved to Garden Estates Assisted Living Facility after she had a stroke. There she made many friends and enjoyed dominoes, sing-alongs and outings.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her youngest son, Barry Lee Manning and her brother, Kenneth Curry Key, Jr.
Survivors include her son, Clarence Leslie “Les” Manning of Houston; a daughter, Linda Elaine Manning Findley and husband Melvin Thomas of Moffat; a daughter-in-law, Marianne Elizabeth Jessen Manning of Troy; three grandchildren, Eric Jason Findley, Leita Michelle Findley-Stewart of Austin and Marcus Lee Manning of Waco; sisters, Norma Lee “Babe” Key Reed of China Springs, Mary Irene “Rene” Key Gustafson of Waco; a brother, Billy Lewis “Bill” of Southlake and many nieces and nephews.

Alfred Wayne ‘A.W.’ Stiles
Oct. 26, 1939 — May 25, 2001

CENTERVILLE — Services for Alfred Wayne “A.W.” Stiles, 61, of Centerville are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Centerville.
Father Ranjan of St. Francis of the Tejas Catholic Church in Crockett will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Honey Creek Cemetery in Bulverde, Texas.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 4 to 8 p.m., at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Stiles died Friday in Madisonville.

He was born in San Antonio and lived in Centerville 25 years. He owned and operated Stiles Contracting, a dirt contracting service. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Stiles of Centerville; his mother, Irene Stiles of Houston; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Virgil Krenvueller of Hondo; two nieces, a nephew and three great-nephews.

Olga Anna (Halbich) Stadelman
June 7, 1903 — May 25, 2001

Olga Anna Halbich (Helbick) Stadelman, age 97, died at the home of her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Thomas and Penelope Weber in Bethlehem, Indiana, on May 25, 2001, at 9 p.m. EDT.

She was born June 7, 1903, in Gaublonz, Bohemia, Austro-Hungarian Empire, now part of the Czech Republic. She immigrated to the United States, arriving at Ellis Island, New York, with her father and mother, Otto and Martha Kudera Halbich on September 9, 1909. She became an American citizen with her parents and spent her youth in Lynn, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Burdett Business College.

As a young lady, she won numerous awards for marathon and other dancing. In Lynn, on April 26, 1922, she eloped with World War I U.S. Navy sailor, William Louis Stadelman of Richmond, Indiana.

Subsequently she spent most of her life in Richmond as a homemaker where her husband owned Stadelman’s Auto Mart. She was baptized as a Roman Catholic in Bohemia and joined the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Richmond where she was an active member of the Loyal Partners Class for many years. She was a member and officer of the Eastern Star, of the Pleasant View School Community Club, of RSVP, and after losing her vision in 1954, she became state secretary of the Indiana Workers for the Blind. She recovered significant vision following surgery in 1999 in what was regarded by many as a miracle.

She spent many years making crochet and knitted items that she usually gave to children or donated to charity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Martha Halbich; by her husband, William Stadelman; by a son, “baby” Stadelman; and by a granddaughter, Greta Stadelmann of Brenham.

She is survived by two children, ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Patricia Annette Stadelmann of Brenham, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and A. William King Jr. of Fort Myers, Florida; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, A. William III and Cynthia King of New Castle, Indiana, Terry and Ann King of Indianapolis, Indiana, Marcus and Lisa Stadelman of Greeley, Colorado, and Lowell and Angelia Stadelman of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Brenham, Texas; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Penelope and Thomas Weber of Bethlehem, Indiana, Aimee and Brian Powers of Summerville, South Carolina, Lisa and Thomas Neil Jr. of Brenham, Texas, Mary and Kanyon West of Stockbridge, Georgia, Kristine and John Frady of Pendleton, South Carolina, and Olga G. Stadelmann of Austin, Texas; great-grandsons, Clayton Weber of Bethlehem, Indiana, Shannon and Casey Weber of Louisville, Kentucky, Randy Weber of Indianapolis, Indiana, Daniel King of New Castle, Indiana, Monty Cliff of San Angelo, Texas, Zachary and Joshua Stadelman of Aberdeen, North Carolina, Brandon and Jesse Powers of Summerville, South Carolina, and W. Ellis West of Stockbridge, Georgia; great-grandsons and great-granddaughters-in-law, Ryan and Pamela Weber of Bethlehem, Indiana, and A. Michael and Marnajean King of Indianapolis, Indiana; great-granddaughters, Heather Cliff of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Tyler Cliff of San Angelo, Texas, Ashley Powers of Louisville, Kentucky, and Riley and Rachel Frady of Pendleton, South Carolina; great-great-granddaughter, Haley Cliff of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and nephew, Calvin Schepman of Fountain City, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Doan and Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, Indiana, followed at 3 p.m. by a worship service to celebrate Olga Stadelman’s life and faith. The Rev. Mr. James W. Miller and the Rev. Mrs. Dixie Miller of the First Christian Church in Richmond, Indiana, will officiate with members of the family giving eulogies. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery.

Frances Williamson Azevedo
July 22, 1933 — May 25, 2001

NORMANGEE — Services for Frances Williamson Azevedo, 67, of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Monday at the Bryan United Pentecostal Church.

Bros. Bret Cooley and Tommie Brown of the Bryan United Pentecostal Church will officiate. Burial will be at Williamson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.
Mrs. Azevedo died Friday in Bryan.

She was born in Iola and was a homemaker. She was a Pentecostal.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Mary Jo Corley of Houston; a daughter, Sandra Rodriquez of Houston; two brothers, Ernest Williamson of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Aubrey Williamson of Iola; two sisters, Evelyn Winn of Houston and Vera Thomas of Bryan; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the United Pentecostal Church of Bryan.
