Overton
VAN - Everdean Overton, 84, of Van, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 in Van.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 at Mount Vernon City Cemetery. Ronnie McCowan will officiate.
Mrs. Overton was born May 9, 1917 in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Charles A. Leathers and Mary E. Hinsley. She was married May 1, 1943 in McClean.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Overton of Van. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Overton on April 25, 1964.
The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. to the service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Crowder
Willie Mae Crowder, 82, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002 at Titus Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. The Rev. J.H. Holmes will officiate. Interment will be in Old West Side Cemetery under the direction of Tumey Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Rudell Johnson, Bobby R. Turner, Claudis Turner, Corey Shaw and Patrick Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be the stewards of Saint Paul A.M.E. Church.
Mrs. Crowder was born April 25, 1919 in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Spence and Mary Jane (Ivory) Traylor. She was retired from private home work. She served on the usher board and was a stewardess on the stewardess board at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church.
She is survived by her daughter Willie Louise Scott of Claymont, De.; son Morris Dean Crowder of Dallas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers Otis Traylor of Dallas, and Danny Ray Traylor; special friend Charlotte Dunn Cooper of Mount Pleasant; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Thelma Miller; and three sisters.
No formal visitation with the family is planned, however Mrs. Crowder will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Services for Robert "Bud" McCants, who died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002 at East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg, are pending with Erman Smith Funeral Home.
Jennings
DAINGERFIELD - Jerry Dean "Corky" Jennings, 43, of Daingerfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002 in Mount Pleasant.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at First Baptist Church in Daingerfield. The Revs. John Stone and Neal Thornburgh will officiate. Interment will be in Old Union Cemetery in Simms under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home in Daingerfield.
Mr. Jennings was born Dec. 9, 1958 in Naples. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Daingerfield, graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1977 and was a graduate of East Texas State University. He was employed with Baylor Health Care in Dallas as a human resource manager.
He is survived by his parents J.C. and Helen Jennings of Daingerfield; brothers and sisters-in-law John and Theresa Jennings, Randy and Becky Jennings, all of Daingerfield; nieces Lindsey, Lanie, Lauren, Erin and Leslie Jennings, all of Daingerfield; several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Hopkins
GEORGETOWN - Lieutenant Colonel Terry Hopkins, 55, of Georgetown, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002 at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at Gabriels Funeral Home in Georgetown. Interment will be in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio under the direction of Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown.
Mr. Hopkins was born Dec. 6, 1946 in Camden, Ark., the son of William M. and Nora Faye Hopkins. In 1968 he was drafted into the United States Army where he served in Vietnam as a member of B Company, 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division from 1968 to 1969. He returned to the United States where he attended Hill College in Hillsboro before graduating from East Texas State University in 1974. He attended Army OCS Class 19 receiving his commission as an Officer in the United States Army National Guard in May 1976. He went on to enjoy a distinguished military career spending 20 years on active duty serving in Vietnam, Germany, Italy and the U.S. He retired with a total of 32 years serving his country in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve and the Army National Guard. Upon his retirement from the Army, he was employed as a logistics supervisor at Applied Materials in Austin from October 200 to the present. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Mount Pleasant and Saint John's United Methodist Church in Georgetown.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Denise (Davis) Hopkins of Georgetown; children Tiffany of New Haven, Ct., and Adam, Ben and Elizabeth, all of Georgetown; father William M. Hopkins of Arkansas; brothers Gary and Ben of South Carolina, Bill of California, Jim of Ohio, Danny of Arkansas; and sisters Sue, Peggy and Linda, all of Arkansas.

BOGATA - Vivian Fail, 81, of Bogata, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002 at Red River Healthcare Center in Bogata.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Talco Assembly of God. The Rev. Don Malone will officiate. Interment will be in Talco Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home in Bogata.
Mrs. Fail was born Feb. 6, 1920 in Polk County, the daughter of B.G. and Mary Black Tate. She married J.C. Fail on March 4, 1939 in Henderson County. She was a licensed vocational nurse and worked at Red River Healthcare Center for a number of years until her retirement. She was a former resident of Talco and was a member of Talco Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Marilyn Ronnie Presley, Yvonne and Doug Parker, all of Talco; sons and daughters-in-law Jimmy and Aline Fail of Palestine, Lynn and Ann Fail of Kilgore; brothers Gerald Tate of Trinidad, Barney Tate of Snyder; sisters Vinnie Crocker of Waco, Elsie Kennedy of Scurry; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on Nov. 24, 1999; brothers Ray Tate and Thurman Tate; and son-in-law Glenn Harris.

McCants
PITTSBURG - Robert "Bud" McCants, 74, of Pittsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002 at East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Kyle Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Preston Combest, Wayne Marshall, Don Francis, Sonny Smith, Joe White and Doyle Copeland.
Mr. McCants was born March 2, 1927 in Argonia, Ks. He was retired from Burgdorf Chevrolet as a mechanic and was the custodian for Emmanuel Baptist Church of Pittsburg for a number of years. He was a driver for the North East Texas Opportunity Corp.
He is survived by his wife Margie McCants of Pittsburg; son and daughter-in-law Bobby Dean and Marji McCants of Pheonix, Az.; daughter and son-in-law Debbie Ann and Brent Larson of Lenexa, Ks.; grandsons Blake and Chett; brothers Kenneth McCants of Caldwell, Ks. and Dale McCants of Medesto, Ca.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Alta Milbourne McCants.

A.D. White, 79, of Mount Pleasant, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002 at Titus Regional Medical Center.
A rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21 at Bates-Cooper Funeral Home, with memorial services to be held later that day at 2 p.m. The Rev. Mark Woodward and Fr. Octavio will officiate.
Mr. White was born Aug. 7, 1922 in Titus County. He was the CEO and chairman of the board for White-Worth Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Morman church.
He is survived by his wife Lupe B. White of Mount Pleasant; brother and sister-in-law Tom and Rhetta of Fountain Valley, Ca.; sister Margaret Rye of Armory, Miss.; sister-in-law Jessie White of Mount Pleasant; nieces and their husbands Carolyn and Charles Davis, Jerrie and Ray Fortner, Janice and Joey Mayfield, all of Mount Pleasant, Janet Mitchell of Salem, Ore.; and nephew Ron Armstrong of Armory, Miss. He was preceded in death by his parents Adonias White and Dessie Morgan White; brothers Russell White, Theron White and Edsel White; sisters Erbie Horton and Helen Snyder.

PITTSBURG - Mary E. Wilson White, 97, of Pittsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002 at Pittsburg Nursing Center.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Masonic Cemetery in Mount Pleasant under the direction of Bates-Cooper Funeral Home. Dr. Clint Davis will officiate.
Mrs. White was born Dec. 23, 1904 in Mount Pleasant. She was a past city librarian and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her step-daughter Floye Yokem of Houston; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents W.C. Willson and Jennie Moon Millson; husband David W. White; son Edwin White; three brothers; and four sisters.

PITTSBURG - Nadine Rosewell Wynne, 66, of Pittsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2002 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Bedford.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20 at Bates-Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Glenn Griffith will officiate. Interment will be in Center Grove Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Mrs. Wynne was born Aug. 27, 1934 in Cookville. She was retired with Harris Communications and was a member of the Baptist church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Thomas Wynne of Pittsburg; sons and daughter-in-law Bobby Wynne of Bridgeport, and Timmy and Cindy Wynne of Hurst; daughters and sons-in-law Brenda and Albert Smith of Bridgeport, and Tammy and Tracy Howard of Bedford; sisters Mary Lancaster of Mount Pleasant, and Nell Shelton of Sulphur Springs; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

GRAPEVINE - Mary Elizabeth Bynum, 91, of Grapevine, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at Medical Center of Lewisville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Lone Star Cemetery.
Mrs. Bynum was born May 4, 1910 in Morris County, the daughter of Sam Smith and Louise Myers. She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law George S. and Gail Bynum; grandchildren David Bynum, Christine Bynum, Jamie Bynum; and great-grandchildren Cameron Hoxit and Blair Bynum. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Bynum; and son Jimmie Douglas Bynum.

Mrs. Bynum was born June 11, 1914 in Camp County. She was a housewife and a mother. She was a Methodist.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law David and Betty Bynum of Longview, Joe and Glenda Bynum of Gilmer, Bobby and Juanita Bynum of Midlothian, James and June Bynum of Winnsboro, and Donald Bynum of Longview; daughter and son-in-law Mary and Pete Gibson of Gilmer; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and sisters Janette Bishop of Pittsburg and Marie Santora of Seal Beach, Ca. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Bynum in 2000; parents Noah and Cora Milligan Landers; and three brothers.

Miciah died Tuesday at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
She was born in Las Cruces. She was a student at Johnson Elementary School and a member of Covenant Family Church.

Mrs. Siebman died Wednesday in a Cameron hospital.
She was born in Cameron. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Siebman of Cameron; a son, Paul Freeman of Tow, Texas; a daughter, Beverly Shelton of Phoenix; two sisters, Pauline Hill of Brownwood, Texas, and Wilma Dycus of Cameron; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Walker died Thursday at Colton Inn.
She was born in Corsicana. She was a rancher and a longtime resident of College Station. She was of the Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Steve Hudetts and Claude Walker.
Survivors include five daughters and three sons-in-law, Rosie Brown of Bryan, Elva Jane and George Lightsey of College Station, Frances and Monroe Armstrong and Lucille Lightsey, all of Bryan, and Mickie and Clyde Armstrong of Wheelock; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Hudetts of Ledbetter; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
