Peters

GAINESVILLE - Kathy Peters, 49, of Gainesville, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Mrs. Peters was born June 13, 1951, in Fort Worth, the daughter of James and Billie Wilson Dillard. She married David Peters July 27, 1991, in Gainesville. Mrs. Peters worked as the video department manager at Tom Thumb Page in Gainesville for more than 14 years. She was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church in Valley View.

She is survived by her husband David Peters of Gainesville; sons Michael Rogers of Dallas, Justin Peters of Gainesville and Chris Peters of Gainesville; daughters Paula Williams of Princeton and Bobbie Wright of Ohio; nine grandchildren; father James Dillard of Mount Pleasant; mother Billie Britton of Fort Worth; brothers Ray Dillard of Brenham and Danny Wilson of Mount Pleasant; sisters Janis McCubbins of Mount Pleasant and Lisa Whitney of Gainesville, Fla.; step-sisters Lina Ranes and Penney Parker, both of Mount Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her brother Jed Dillard.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at Valley View First Baptist Church in Valley View under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville. Bro. Ken Witt, minister of Corner Stone Baptist Church in Valley View, will officiate. Interment was held in New Hope Cemetery in Mountain Springs. Pallbearers were men of the Corner Stone Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Corner Stone Baptist church, P.O. Box 697, Valley View TX 76272.

Tohill

OMAHA - Lillian Motley Tohill, 88, of Omaha, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, in Omaha.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in the Mount Moriah Community under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Naples. The Rev. Tim Sullivan ll officiated. Interment was at Omaha Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marvin Sharp, Ashton Pellerin, Devin Pellerin, Otis Tohill, Randall Motley and Ken Pellerin.

Mrs. Tohill was born April 17, 1912, in Omaha. She was retired from Orange ISD and was a longtime resident of Orange. Mrs. Tohill was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Thelma Christine Stein and husband Jack of Phoenix, Ariz.; sons Jessie Lawrence Tohill of Orange and Vivian Carl “Butch” Tohill and wife Ramona of Freeport; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother V.C. Motley and wife Bonnie of Omaha; sister Christine Tohill and husband James Otis of Omaha; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Pat Tohill and wife Nancy; sisters-in-law Ernestine Derrick and Hallie Yarbrough. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Susanne Tohill Penny.

Blair

PITTSBURG - Jim Blair, 60, of Pittsburg died Friday, March 22, 002 at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p. m. on Sunday, March 24 at Leesburg Cemetery in Camp County. Officiating will be the Rev. Kyle Smith. Erman Smith Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Born Nov. 26, 1941 in Denton, Mr. Blair was the son of James Wesley Harold Blair and Violet Estelle Armstrong Blair, both now deceased. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Claude and Edith Johnson of Pittsburg and James and Renee Blair of Coke.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katrina and Fred Theile of Gilbert, Ariz. and Deloris and Lonnie Hicks of Pittsburg and 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, the day of the service, between 10 a. m. and 1 p.m.

Brown

Syble Brown, 86. of Mount Pleasant died Thursday, March 21, 2002 in IHS Nursing Center.

Graveside services were held at 11 a. m. on Saturday, March 23 in liberty Hill Cemetery. Officiating was Phil Denny. Bates-Cooper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Born June 7, 1915 in Titus County, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of Ace Gilbreath and Lura McKay Gilbreath. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cookville.

Survivors include nieces, Jo Campbell of Mount Pleasant; Bernadette Gann of Cookville, Sue Mars of Mount Pleasant, Debbie Wright of Cookville as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband , Albert W. Brown.

Browning

PITTSBURG -Milton J. Browning, 90, of Pittsburg died Friday, March 22, 2002 in East Texas Medical Center.

Services are scheduled at 10 a. m. on Monday, March 25 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Jimmy Pritchard. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens near Mineola.

Pallbearers will be Jr. Blount, Guy McKee, Richard Irby, Doyle Irby, Bryan Irby and Dennis

Browning.

Born Aug. 19, 1911 in Hopkins County, Mr. Browning was retired from the R. E. Wisenbaker Company of Dallas. He was also retired from the City of Pittsburg with the waste management operation.

He was a member of the Frank Sexton Masonic Lodge of Pitsburg and served with the U. S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include two grandaughters, Daina Moses of Mesquite and Andrea Bain of Forney; grandson, Jay Penn of Forney; son-in-law, Kenneth Penn of Dallas; brother, Wayne Browning of Cypress Springs and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Browning in 2000 and a daughter, Jo Ann Penn in 1991.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p. m. on Sunday, March 14 at the funeral home.

Hampton

NAPLES - Murell Moreland Hampton, 85, of Naples died Saturday, March 23, 2002 in Texarkana.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a. m. on Monday, March 25 in Naples Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim Edwards and the Rev. Bob Sinclair. Burial will be in Naples Cemetery. Alexander Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Born Jan. 23, 1917 in Naples, Mrs. Hampton was a retired employee of SWEPCO, a member of the First United Methodist Church, a charter member of Jonquil Garden Club and a lifetime resident of Naples.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Janice Hampton of Annona; daughters, Nancy Morris of Naples and Gloria Norwood of Naples; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Ruby Moreland of Mount Pleasant, Dan and Jackie Moreland of Hughes Springs and Coy and Sarah Moreland of Omaha; sister and brother in-law, Mary and Jimmy Walker of Hughes Springs; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, and a grandson, Sid Norwood.

Pounders

Rebecca L. (Redfearn) Pounders, 49, of Mount Pleasant died Thursday, March 21 in Titus Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p. m. on Sunday, March 24 at White Oak Springs in Mount Pleasant. Bro. Randy Seabert will officiate. Bates-Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born Nov. 8, 1952 in Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Redfearn, was the daughter of Marshal and Jennie Rushing Redfearn. She was a retired payroll clerk.

Survivors include sons, Jeremy Redfearn of Austin and Phillip Pounders of Houston; brothers, Neil Redfearn of Mount Pleasant and Mike Redfearn of Pensacola, Fla.; sisters, Marion Wilson, Betty Newman, Carolyn Wilson and Jane Redfearn, all of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Arron, Brendon, Kathryn and Camron Redfearn; brother-in-law, Charles Reed of Omaha and aunt, Eula Redfearn of Mount Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Terry Lynn Redfearn and sisters, Linda Reed and Martha Lee Redfearn.

Grainger

DAINGERFIELD - Michael Gervis Grainger, 48, of Daingerfield, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at Daingerfield Church of Christ. The Rev. David Lanagan and Bro. Norman Miller will officiate. East Texas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Grainger was born Apr. 7, 1953 in Pittsburg. He worked for Tracor Aeronautics of Austin in the international contracts department and was a member of the Church of Christ in Daingerfield.

He is survived by his parents Jerry Grainger and Betty Grainger of Daingerfield; brothers and sister-in-law David Grainger of Mount Pleasant, Danny and Laura Grainger of Daingerfield; sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Mitch Cox of Daingerfield; nephew Jason Cox of Tyler; nieces Whitney Cox and Jennifer Grainger, both of Daingerfield; many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday before the service.

Rosborough

The Rev. C.E. Rosborough II, 80, of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 at Titus Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at White Oak Baptist Church. The Rev. C.J. Shelton will officiate. Interment will be in Piney Cemetery under the direction of Tumey Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Billy Earl Morgan, A.J. Lewis, Ed Eaton, Frankie Thomas, Bill Brown and Chris Craddock. Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Ivory, Chris Leshaw, Roland Rosborough, La Jeremy Hardmon, Stacey Leshaw and Brandon Evans.

Mr. Rosborough was born Feb. 8, 1922 in Mount Pleasant, the son of C.E. and Ada (Lee) Rosborough. He was a former member of White Oak Baptist Church where he served as deacon and superintendent. Presently he was pastor at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Pittsburg, where he had been for the last 36 years. He also pastored at Macedonia Baptist Church in Talco, Independent Hope Baptist Church and Zion Hill Baptist Church, both in Pittsburg. He was a former employee of Red River Arsenal and was retired from Lone Star Steel Company after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife Marie Craddock Rosborough of Mount Pleasant; sons Billy Ray Rosborough and C.E. Rosborough, both of Mount Pleasant; daughters and son-in-law Mary and Charles Leshaw of Odessa, and Billie Rosborough of Mount Pleasant; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special niece Charlotte Dunbar of Oakland, Ca.; sister-in-law Mattie Taulton of Safford, Az.; brothers-in-law Clifford and Mary Craddock of Dallas, and Rosco Craddock of Casa Grand, Az.; numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Leslie Hardmon; two sisters; and one brother.

No formal visitation with the family is planned, however Mr. Rosborough will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
