Marquez, children — Daniel Marquez, George Marquez, Raul Marquez and Alicia Acosta — 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Burial was March 15 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Manuel Nevarez, 76, passed away March 9. The longtime El Paso resident is survived by his wife Mariana, children — Grace Bir, Rosa Cano, Margie Nevarez and Jesus Alfonso — 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Burial was March 14 at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Bill Newkirk, 84, passed away March 12. He was a WWII veteran who organized the El Paso Hotel-Motel Association and was a founding member of Discover El Paso. He is survived by his wife Vickie Irene Moore Newkirk, his son William S. Newkirk Jr. and three grandchildren. Graveside services were March 19 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

He is survived by his children — Louie Paz Jr., Michael Paz, Mrs. Mel Patterson, Mrs. Ken Cureton, Mrs. Char Bradford and Mrs. Efrin Cruz. Burial was March 23 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

Paula Blackwelder Ramsey passed away March 15. She was a member of the Sunset Heights Garden Club and the El Paso Historical Society. She is survived by her husband Greg Ramsey, children — Burke Morris, Mike Morris, Lynn Ramsey Stinson, Rich Stinson and Niki Ramsey — and five grandchildren. Friends and family celebrated her life at a gathering at 6812 Pino Real on March 22

Burial was March 10 in Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery.

She worked many years in sales and service in the trucking industry and is survived by her husband Lyle Lawson, children — Carol Keys, Tina Larson and Allen R. Keys — and five grandchildren. A private family service was held and remembrances can be made to the American Cancer Society.

A private service took place on March 1 at the family residence.
