Donald S. Fordham Sr, 80, passed away May 8. He is survived by his son Don S. Fordham Jr and his wife June, one daughter, Barbara Ann Dermody, and her husband Charles, two grandchildren Lisa Sultan and Bill Dermody, three great-grandchildren Nadya Sultan, Farah Sultan and Erin Dermody, one brother, Ronald Fordham, and two sisters Nora Prime and Edna Polowkow. A graveside service was held May 11 in Hopewell, N.J.

Carlos Alberto Gomez Jr., 4, passed away May 10. He is survived by his parents Carlos A. and Cynthia Gomez, paternal grandparents Mary P. and Ramon Gomez, maternal grandmother Hortencia Chiquito, three aunts and two uncles. Burial was May 14 at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Nancy Isela Gonzalez, 30, passed away May 6. She was a longtime El Paso resident and worked with the Texas Department of Public Safety. She is survived by her former husband, Ramon Gonzalez, and daughters Vanessa Marie Gonzalez and Yesenia Amanda Gonzalez, her parents Jerry and Maria Conner, brothers Artemio Conner, Roberto Conner, Ricardo Conner and Walter Conner, and sister Alma Ramirez. Burial was May 9 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ponciano A. Guerra, 72, passed away May 7. He was a lifetime area resident and a bus driver for the City of El Paso. He is survived by his wife Aurora Guerra, their children — Ponciano A. Guerra Jr. and his wife Gloria, Frank Guerra, Gloria Avila and her husband Hipolito — eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brother Cruz Guerra and sister Barbara Contreras. Interment was May 11 in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Helen Ljungdahl passed away May 9. She is survived by her sister, Joan Shea, her children — Bill Ljungdahl, Pat and Joanne Ljungdahl, Spencer and Jo Ann Sipko and Sister Mary Margaret Ljungdahl. Her surviving grandchildren are Sean, Amy, Carlos and Molly, Mike, Dorn, Leslie, Ed, Erin and a great-granddaughter Jade. Interment was May 11 at Fort Bliss.

Gloria E. Lopez, 85, passed away May 4. She was a longtime El Paso resident and is survived by her children — Cecilia Rodriguez, Gloria Falcon, Teresita Cerda, Elizabeth Flores, Arabella Tercero, Mirta Galindo, Maria Hilda Jaime, Hector Lopez — 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Interment was May 9 at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Jose Angel Sanchez, 83, passed away May 8. He was a man of humor who loved ranchera music and anything sweet. He spoke with delight of his childhood in Seguin, Texas, but left home forever when called to serve his country during World War II. He was stationed at Fort Bliss where he met his wife, who survives him after 57 years of marriage, Marta Beatriz Escobar. He also is survived by his children — Elva Martinez and her husband Guillermo Jr., Edna Solis and her husband Efrain, Patricia Sanchez, Jose Luis Sanchez and his wife Maria Estela Mora, Carlos Sanchez and wife Sandra Elizabeth. Burial of his cremains was May 12 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to La Posada Home, Inc., 248 Francis, El Paso, Texas, 79905, a shelter for women and their children.

Michael Dion Stewart, 38, passed away May 5. He was a lifelong El Paso resident a member of First Baptist Church of Chaparral, an avid bowler, a member of The El Paso Strikers League and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He is survived by his mother, Glenda Stewart, and his brother, Tony A. Stewart. He is also survived by his nephew, Jerry Wayne III, and numerous uncles and aunts. Burial was May 11 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Aurora M. Tafoya, 75, passed away May 5. She had been a resident of El Paso since 1954. She is survived by her children — Ricardo Tafoya Jr., Robert Tafoya, Herminio Tafoya and Arturo Tafoya, Arcelia Tafoya, Bertha A. Vargas, Aurora Lopez, Margarita Herrera, Norma Hernandez and Eva Vargas — 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Burial was May 9 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

James Thomas (Bill) Tice Jr., 82, passed away May 7. He was a resident of El Paso for 54 years, Navy WWII veteran and a retired schoolteacher from the El Paso district. He is survived by his wife, Dee Tice, his son, Jay Carter Tice, and his wife Nancy, daughter Carolyn Teresa Tice Mitchell and her husband Ralph, granddaughter Amber Leigh Tice, brothers Robert Tice and Carl G. Tice, sister Doris Tice Maclin and several nephews and nieces. Interment was May 11 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested that donations may be made to the “United We Build” fund at Scotsdale Baptist Church, 10015 Lockerbie, El Paso, Texas 79925.

Maria Vicario, 72, passed away May 8. She was a resident of El Paso for 53 years, retired as a cook from Leo's Mexican Food Restaurant for 35 years, and was a charter member of the El Paso Paisano Lioness Club. She also was in charge of the program for the Senior Project for Christmas and Thanksgiving. She is survived by her mother, Antonia Barron, her husband, Julio Vicario, her children — Francisco, Eduardo and David Gutierrez — and four sisters, two brothers, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Bu-rial was May 10 at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Ana L. Villarreal, 86, passed away May 6. She was a longtime resident of El Paso and a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by her children — Roberto Villarreal and his wife Vickie, Arturo Villarreal and his wife Sofia, Juanita Green and her husband Walter, Margie Cordova and her husband George, Yolanda Melendez and her husband Tony, Anita Sandoval and her husband Juan and Petra Espinosa — 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Interment was May 10 at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Catherine Morris Wilson, 91, passed away May 6. She grew up in Chihuahua where she met and married Renie Wilson and taught kindergarten. She moved to El Paso where she spent her remaining years after her husband’s death. She also taught at Saint Patrick’s School. She is survived by her daughters — Catherine Shupe and her husband Bill, and Florence Delgado and her husband Robert — nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Interment was May 9 at Evergreen East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested that donations may be made in her name to Bien Vivir Senior Health Services, 6000 Welch, El Paso, Texas 79905.

Anna Esther Oporto, 61, passed away May 4. She was a lifelong El Paso resident and a member of San Elizario Catholic Church, where she also served as secretary for 45 years. She is survived by her husband, Frank Oporto, their children — Frank Oporto, Jr., Roberto Jose Oporto, Carlos Oporto and Norman Oporto, and Linda — five grandchildren, eight brothers and three sisters. Interment was May 9 in San Elizario Cemetery.

Zoie L. Pickens, 95, passed away May 6. She had been a resident of El Paso for 61 years and was a member of the Eastern Star and Immanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by her children — Harold R. Pickens and his wife Mabel and Norris L. Pickens and his wife Bonnie of Malta — six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and three brothers. Interment was May 10 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Felipe V. Reyes, 93, passed away May 10. The longtime El Paso resident was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and retired from Phelps Dodge Refinery after 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Maria T. Reyes, their children — Refugio, Felipe Reyes Jr., Isabel Ramirez and Antonia Reyes — 15 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Burial was May 14 at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Celia Rodriguez, 77, passed away May 7. She was a homemaker and longtime resident of El Paso. She is survived by her sister, Otilia Rodriguez, her nieces Concepcion Bustamante and Angela Garcia, great-nieces Guadalupe Soto, Lilly Bustamante and Yolanda Bustamante, great nephews Oscar Bustamante and Guillermo Soto, and many other great-great-nephews and nieces. Entombment was May 10 at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Guadalupe M. Muñoz, 62, passed away May 8. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso and a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by her children — Roberto A. Munoz, Elena M. Puente, Guadalupe M. Cedillo, Christina M. Manzon and Sandra L. Munoz — and 12 grandchildren. Interment was May 10 at Evergreen East Cemetery.

She is survived by her children — Alfredo Murillo Jr., Armando Murillo, Alfonso Murillo and Albert Murillo, Adela Tallant, Alicia Ahumada, Angelina Rios, numerous children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her sisters, Alicia Guerrero and Pearl Booth. Interment was May 11 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

Maria Dolores “Lola” Acosta, 79, passed away May 12. She had been a resident of El Paso since 1954 and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Nicolas Acosta, children — Issac “Chito” Acosta, Nicolas Acosta Jr., Elia Montelongo, Alma Fonseca, Dolores Villalobos, Isela Fennell and Michele Sanchez — 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Interment was May 16 at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Memorial contributions were suggested to to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4400 N. Mesa, #9 El Paso, Texas 79902.

Julio Aguilar, 73, passed away May 15. He was a longtime resident of El Paso and retired from Civil Service. He is survived by his children — Elizabeth Guerra and husband Richard, Phillip Madrid and wife Bertha, George Lopez and wife Silvia, Patsy Guerra and husband David, Edwardo Aguilar, and Julio Aguilar Jr. — 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Interment was May 18 at Evergreen East Cemetery.

Juan Alvidrez, 78, passed away May 12. The longtime El Paso resident worked at St. Charles Seminary for eight years and was a member of Santo Niño de Atocha Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Maria Elena R. Alvidrez, his children — Juan Arturo Alvidrez and wife Socorro, Gilberto Alvidrez and wife Amparo, Juan Alvidrez Jr. and wife Margarita, Martha C. Alba and husband Jose and Julieta A. Lopez — 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Burial was May 16 at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Eugenio L. Alvarez, 74, of El Paso passed away May 8. He was a retired warehouse supervisor and served in the military. Survivors include his children — Carlos Alvarez, Vi-ctor Granados, Leticia Alvarez and Vanessa Rios — three brothers, three sisters and nine grandchildren. Graveside service was May 14 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

Helen Elizabeth “Betty” Bell, 84, passed away May 13. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin and was a retired elementary school teacher from the Ysleta Independent School District. She is survived by her sons, Leslie H. Bell and his wife Patricia, and James T. Bell and his wife Laurel, and grandchildren — Brian Russell Bell, Kevin Patrick Bell, Erin Benay Bell, Sean Hunter Bell and Alexander McKenzie Bell. Interment took place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in Kerrville.

Elauterio Dominguez Franco, 81, died May 13. He was a carpenter who moved to El Paso three years ago. He is survived by his children — Jimmy Franco, Josefine Aranda, Rebecca Lopez, Margie Gonzalez and Martha Munoz — 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Interment was May 17 at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Barbara Jo Griffith, 65, passed away on May12. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a volunteer in the March of Dimes Association. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jon Griffith, their children — Keith Griffith, Kenneth Griffith, Kathy Garriso and Nathan Holder — six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment was May 16 at Plano Mutual Cemetery.

Estela V. Hernandez, 95, passed away May 12. She was a longtime resident of the El Paso area and a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church. Survivors include her nephew Javier Alfonso and wife Martha Ramos Perea, two grandnieces Renee and Monica Perea and grandnephew Javier Perea Jr. and two great- grandnieces Ashley Perea Neal and Stephanie Perea Neal. Interment was May 15 at Evergreen Alameda Cemetery.

William Eugene Ivey (Bill), 74, passed away May 11. The Ysleta High School graduate served in the Navy and up to his death, he was a licensed real estate broker who was involved in land development. His love of the Mexican culture and its people added to the places that he came to call home and to the people he readily called family. He is survived by his children —Michele Wahnsiedler, Patricia Lettunich, Kathi McChristian, Teresa Orr, Bill Ivey Jr., King Ivey, Paul Ivey, Nellie Kay McDowell, Gary Ivey, Warren Ivey and Paula Kesner — 25 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Burial was May 16 at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
