Jon Harrison McCullough

WHITESBORO -- Jon Harrison McCullough (Jon the Jeweler) passed away at Parkland Hospital in Dallas Saturday, June 21, 2003.

Funeral services for Mr. McCullough, 33, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, in the First Methodist Church of Whitesboro. Dr. Roy Spore will officiate. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, also in Whitesboro.

Pallbearers will be Chad Ressler, Mark Abernathy, Heath Raper, Kevin Riddle, Doug McCullough, and Corey Prestidge. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Collins, Dale Jones, Mack Meador, Clay Edwards, Jon Sanders, and Blaake Prestidge.

Arrangements are under the care of Huff Funeral Home of Whitesboro.

Mr. McCullough was born October 3, 1969 in San Bernardino, Calif., to Harrison McCullough and Dianna Cawelti mcCullough. On February 23, 1989, he married Kathy Riddle in Whitesboro.

He was the owner and operator of Kelly's Jewelers in Whitesboro. He was also a member of the First Methodist Church of Whitesboro, the Jewelers Board of Trade, and the IHRA.

Surviving are his wife, Kelly McCullough of Whitesboro; two sons and one daughter, Rhett McCullough, Wesley McCullough, and Brooke McCullough, all of Whitesboro; parents, Harrison and Dianna McCullough of Whitesboro; one brother, Douglas Alan McCullough of Pinetop, Ariz.; father-in-law and step-mother-in-law, Linda Dalton of Whitesbor; mother-in-law, Judy Riddle of Sherman; brothers-in-law Kevin Riddle of San Diego, Calif., and Brian Riddle of Whitesboro; and numerous friends, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund at American Bank in Whitesboro to benefit his children.

Family visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at Huff Funeral Home.

Allyne Foreman

FARMERSVILLE -- Allyne Foreman, 82, died June 21, 2003 at North Central medical Center in McKinney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Farmersville. The Rev. Bart Barber will officiate and burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, also in Farmersville.

She is survived by her sons, Ted Foreman of Allen, Texas, and Larry Foreman of Frisco, Texas; sister, Monette Foreman of Allen; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Dewey 'Butch' Onstott

Services are pending for Dewey "Butch" Onstott, 62-year-old Denison resident who died Saturday night, June 21, 2003 at Texoma Medical Center.

Cunningham's Achille Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Services are pending for Sarah Aikers of Sherman, who died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.

Services are pending with Dannel Funeral Home of Sherman for Dorothy Faye Burleson, who died early Sunday morning, June 22, 2003, at Wilson N. Jones North Campus.

Angelita S. Thomas

DENISON -- Services are pending for Angelita S. Thomas, 68, who died Sunday, June 22, 2003.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Denison.

Guy D. Honeycutt

SHERMAN -- Guy D. Honeycutt, 71-year-old Sherman resident, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, at Waldo Funeral Chapel. The Reverends Greg Smith of Calvary Baptist Church in Denison and Mike Murphy of New Life Church will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Clifford Jordan and Justin McKenzie, Howard Hohenberger, Stu Atnip, Eddie Blake and Beth Judkins and Welby Pleasant. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan and Ben Judkins and the "42" Domino players at Midway Mall. Interment will follow at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.

Guy was born Sept. 23, 1931, the son of David A. Honeycutt and Jessie Lee Allison. He married Pauline Logan on April 4, 1952 in Sherman. She preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 1995. On May 3, 2002, Guy married Vernice Atnip McGough in Sherman. Guy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Denison. He was also a veteran of the Army. Guy retired from Hale Trailers at which time he began his own trucking business, He retired in 1991.

Guy is survived by his wife, Vernice Honeycutt of Sherman; daughter, Darla James and husband, Chuck of Mead, Okla.; son, Roger Honeycutt and wife, Michelle of Sherman; stepdaughter, Sandra Moore and husband, David of Weatherford; stepsons, Russell Wayne McGough and wife, Doracy of Grand Saline and Ronnie McGough and wife, Linda of Arlington; grandchildren, Blake Judkins and wife, Suzanne of Plano, Beth Judkins of Pottsboro and Amber Honeycutt of Sherman, Tammy Ward and husband, Curt of Chicago, Amy McFarland of Bastrop, Davida Mussey and husband, Richard of Procter, Nikki Ross and husband, Bill of Stephenville, Mackenzie Moore and husband, Kim of Cleburne, Larry and Greg McGough of Arlington; two great-grandchildren and 13 step great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held prior to service from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Andrew Pickett Mobley

AUSTIN -- Andrew Pickett Mobley was born on July 27, 1984 and passed away on August 9, 2003. He graduated from Austin High in 2002, and at the time of his death he had completed his freshman year and summer courses at Austin College in Sherman, Texas.

Andrew had an amazing encyclopedic mind and a wry, penetrating view of the world. He enjoyed a diverse range of interests in the fine arts, history and science, and cared deeply about social issues.

Andrew had great compassion for all. He challenged everyone including himself to examine conventional wisdom regarding social and environmental issues. Andrew was a voracious reader, always searching for insight and knowledge to understand our world and his place in making it better.

A gifted self-taught guitarist, Andrew had a passion for music and his unique hometown of Austin. He was a wonderful actor who performed major parts in a number of plays with Austin High's Red Dragon Players.

Offstage, he was a wickedly funny mimic. His His incomparable sense of humor illuminated the lives of his family and friends of all ages, making us laugh and think at the same time.

His years with us were precious, and we will miss him greatly. He is survived by his father, Steve Mobley, his mother, Holly P. Mobley-Scofield, and her husband, John M. Scofield; his sister, Lisa V. Mobley; step-sister, Sydney M. Scofield and step-brother, Evan L. Scofield; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Mobley of Austin, and Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Pickett of Lindale; uncle and aunt, Jim and Sue Mobley; aunt, Linda Mobley; cousins, Melissa and Allison Mobley; aunt and uncle, Melissa and Pat Kelly; cousins, Logan and Reid Kelly; numerous great-aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear and cherished friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday August 11, 2003 at Weed-Corley Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12th at Westminister Presbyterian Church, 3208 Exposition Blvd., officiated by pastor Bill Clark. A graveside service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name Andrew Mobley to the Center for Environment Research, Office of the President, Austin College, 900 North Grand Avenue, Sherman, TX 75090.

Arrangements are under the direction of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin.

Donald Ray Davis

WHITEWRIGHT -- Graveside services for Donald Ray Davis, 44, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, near Grand Saline, TX with the Rev. Steve Holland officiating. He died Thursday, August 7, 2003 in Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Surviving are his wife, Maryland Davis of Whitewright; step-daughters, Mandy Livesay of Arlington, Taunia Strawn of Dallas; five grandchildren; sisters, Jan LaCottie, Littie Hedge; brothers, John Davis, Jene Davis, Richard Davis, Lynn Akakian.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison.

Ann Beadle

WHITESBORO -- Funeral services are pending with Huff Funeral Home, Whitesboro, for Ann Beadle, 67, of Whitesboro.

Mrs. Beadle passed away Sunday, August 10, 2003 at her home.

Polly Minton McLeRoy

SHERMAN -- Polly Minton McLeRoy, mother, grandmother and teacher, died September 30, 2003, in Fort Worth.

Funeral and Memorial Services: Memorial service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sherman, Texas, on Friday, October 3, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. and graveside service on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Tyler, Texas, under the direction of Thompson's Harveson and Cole, Fort Worth, 817-336-0345. Rev. Neill Morgan presiding at both services.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to The Gladney Fund (6300 John Ryan Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76132), Covenant Presbyterian Church (322 W. Pecan, Sherman, Texas 75090) or Grayson County College Foundation (6101 Grayson Drive, Denison, Texas 75020-8299).

Born in Hemphill, Texas daughter of John W. and Florence D. Minton, Polly McLeRoy grew up in East Texas and graduated from Texas Woman's University (then know as the College of Industrial Arts). In 1932, following graduation, she served as a tea house volunteer for Sir Wilfred and Lady Grenfell's medical mission work to the native peoples of Newfoundland and Labrador. Polly taught school in Hemphill, Troup, Tyler, Waco, San Antonio, and Dallas during her lifetime. She married Richard Ransom McLeRoy, a graduate of Texas A&M College, in 1936. The couple lived in Corpus Christi, Waco, and San Antonio before moving to Dallas, where their two sons, Richard R. McLeRoy Jr. and William Robert McLeRoy, were born. Polly and Dick traveled throughout the United States and to South America, Asia, Australia, Antarctica and Europe as avid birders and tourists. Both served as civic, Boy Scout and church leaders and volunteers. Their oldest son, Richard McLeRoy Jr., died in 1955.

Following her husband's death in 1981, Polly continued to travel, visiting Japan, Mongolia, Russia, Egypt, Hudson Bay, and Newfoundland. In 1989, she moved to Sherman and, in 1993, became a grandmother with the birth of Bill and Sherrie's daughter, Ann Elizabeth. She was a lifetime member of the American Association of University Women, as well as a member of Dallas County Audubon Society, Dallas Pierian Club, Texas Nature Conservancy, Daughters of the American Revolution and Paisano Club. She was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellows.

Her philanthropy included establishing the Richard R. McLeRoy President's Endowed Scholarship at Texas A&M University, the John W. Minton and Florence D. Minton Endowed Law Day Lecture Series at Baylor University, the Polly Minton McLeRoy Endowed Scholarship at Austin College and the Polly Minton McLeRoy Scholarship at Grayson County College. She also supported the Texas Nature Conservancy, First Baptist Church of Hemphill, Park Cities Baptist Church of Dallas, Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sherman, The Gladney Center in Fort Worth and All Saints' Episcopal School of Fort Worth.

Family: Son and daughter-in-law, William R. McLeRoy and Sherrie S. McLeRoy and their daughter, Ann Elizabeth McLeRoy of Aledo, Texas; nephews, John H. Minton Jr. of Tyler, Robert M. Minton of Henderson, Joseph Minton of Houston, Marcus D. Minton of Petersburg, Virginia and Morris S. Minton Jr. of Cashiers, North Carolina; and nieces, Rachel M. Corley, Mary Dean M. Paul, Ann M. Lake, all of Tyler.

Nancy Abb

Nancy Elizabeth Abb was born May 15, 1958 in Sherman, Texas. She passed away on September 27, 2003, in Richardson, Texas.

Nancy is survived by her beloved daughter, Stephanie Nicole Banker, age 19, her siblings, Steve Abb and wife, Donna of Bentonville, Arkansas and sisters, Susie Priore of Dallas, and Robin Abb of Boulder, Colorado. She is also survived by her nephews, Sam Mulroy of Dallas and Mike Abb of Fort Worth, and her niece, Katy Priore of Dallas, her Uncle Dick Abb of Appleton, Wisconsin and his wife, Marge and their many children and her well-loved, one-eyed horse, Leon, a resident of the Black Beauty Ranch in East Texas.

Nancy will be sorely missed by her family and her many friends. She had a lifelong love of the outdoors and was an accomplished horseback rider. Nancy loved fast motorcycles, fly fishing and gardening. She was a fabulous cook and hostess with a heart as open as her kitchen. Nancy was the former special events coordinator for Trinity Industries and the Kent Waldrep Foundation. The last gala event for the Waldrep Foundation, which Nancy handled, was the most successful in its history.

Nancy will be remembered as a generous, compassionate, sweet and fun-loving person with a deep sense of spirituality and love of God, her family, and nature.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Alex Abb Lewis, her parents, Bob and Maggie Abb, and her aunt, and mentor, Miss Gene Loop.

Memorials may be made to a college trust fund for Stephanie Banker that has been set up a the First American Bank on Lovers Lane and Inwood Road.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Saint Joseph's Church, 600 S. Jupiter Rd., (corner of Spring Valley and Jupiter) in Richardson, Texas on Friday, October 3 at 2 p.m., conducted by Monsignor Don Fisher.
