Edna Philagios

DENISON -- Graveside services for Edna Philagios, 65-year-old Denison resident, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. She died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at IHS of Sherman.The Rev. Lee Armstrong will officiate.

Mrs. Philagios was born on Feb. 11, 1938, in Caney, Oklahoma, daughter of Edd Masters and Winnie Beaumont Masters. On Oct. 21, 1955, she married John Philagios in Durant, Okla.

She was a housewife and attended Victory Life Church.

Surviving are her husband, John Philagios of Denison; sons, Johnny Mike Philagios, Jerry Mark Philagios and wife, Angie and Jimmy Phillip Philagios, all of Denison; daughters, Leona Warren and husband, Fred of Beaumont, Susan Gibson and husband, Clayton, Evelyn Shaw and husband, Danny and Callie Evans, all of Denison; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2.

Clinton Edgarton Wilcox Sr.

DENISON -- Clinton Edgarton Wilcox Sr. peacefully passed away of natural causes on Friday, the 26th of September in Grass Valley, Calif. at his son's home. He was born in Half Moon Bay in 1915.

Together with his wife, Edith Belle Hoffman, Mr. Wilcox lived and raised his family in Denison in the 1950s, and always considered it his true home. The family home was at 701 West Morgan.

While in Denison, he helped coach football, built the Conway Oil Refinery as the head engineer for Safeway Stores, and was a volunteer for many causes. Mr. Wilcox went on to engineer and construct other facilities in New Jersey and California, become a rancher in Eastern Nevada and travel other continents as an engineer.

Mr. Wilcox is survived by a son and daughter; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Johnny Richard Kee

VAN ALSTYNE -- Graveside services for Johnny Richard Kee, age 49, of Van Alstyne were held Wednesday at Elm Grove Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

Surviving are his wife, Diane Kee; daughters, April Arps of McKinney and Abigail Kee and Jesse Kee, both of Sedalia, Texas; sons, Joel Kee and Jamie Kee, both of McKinney, Jonathan Kee of Livingston, and Curtis Elder of Westminster; mother, Mozelle Kee of Westminster; sister, Linda McKay of Westminster; brother, Mike Kee of Pilot Grove; and three grandchildren.

Flesher Funeral Home in Van Alstyne had charge of arrangements.

Ouida Viola Walker

BELLS -- Ouida Viola Walker, age, 73, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at her residence in Bells. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Mullican-Little Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Houston Garner of Hebron Baptist Church, Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Walker was born on Sept. 26, 1930, in Haskell, Texas, daughter of Homer West and Mamie Parson West. On Dec. 14, 1946, she married Rayford Walker.

She was a homemaker.

Pallbearers will be James Patty, Stacey Tharp, Stoney Tharp, Kevin Perzinski, Chris Walker and James Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Debra Bowman, Tony West and Brent Freeman.

Surviving are her sons, Don Walker of Sherman, Bruce Walker of Abilene and Joe Walker of Savoy; daughter, Jeannine Jenkins of Bells; sister, Pat Goodin of Bells; and brother, Sam West of LaPorte, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Alma Jean Walker; sister, Loretta Jones; and brother, Sonny West.

The family will be at Mullican-Little Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Dorothy Ann Mitzelfelt

DENISON -- Memorial services for Dorothy Ann Mitzelfelt, 81-year-old Denison resident, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 3, at Johnson-Moore Chapel. She died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Texoma Medical Center.

Dr. Johnny Shoemaker and Pastor Bill Hunt will officiate.

Mrs. Mitzelfelt was born on Sept. 12, 1922, in Illinois, daughter of John and Bertha Thomas Klausen. She married Edward Mitzelfelt in January of 1946, in Peoria, Illinois.

Mrs. Mitzelfelt was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Bellwood Nursing Home in Peoria, Illinois, and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Surviving are her sons, Mark Mitzelfelt and Ed Mitzelfelt of Denison and Jim Mitzelfelt of Anna City, Illinois; daughter, Gloria Jean Neff of Sandridge, Idaho; sisters, Julie Ann Travis of Peoria, Illinois and Velma Hawkins of Dearborn, Michigan; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by six brothers and seven sisters.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 3301 W. Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76107.

Verna Gerken

BELLS -- Graveside services for Verna Gerken, 56-year-old Bells resident, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rose Hill Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Dr. Lowell Howard will officiate.

Surviving are her husband, John Gerken; son, Sean Hawthorn of Cypress, Texas; daughter, Lauren Hawthorn of Cypress; mother, Alta Edwards of Texas City; sister, Carole Falcone of North Carolina; and two grandchildren.

The family will be at Mullican-Little Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Velvie Mae Jennings

BONHAM -- Velvie Mae Jennings, 87 of Vivian, La. and formerly of Bonham, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Whispering Pines Nursing Center in Plain Dealing, La.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham with Dr. Randy McBroom officiating. Burial will be at Arledge Ridge Cemetery.

Surviving are her sister, Ruth Biggerstaff of San Antonio; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Friday, prior to the services.

Robert Kidd

SHERMAN -- Services are pending with Dannel Funeral Home for Robert Kidd of Sherman who died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 at the Mullican Care Center in Savoy.

Mae Belle Bennett

DORCHESTER -- Mae Belle Bennett died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at her home in Dorchester. Services are pending with Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.

Larry O'Lin

KINGSTON, Okla. -- Larry O'Lin, 52, of Kingston died Tuesday, Sept. 30 2003, in Kingston. Services are pending with Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant.

Lora Young

McKINNEY -- Graveside services for Lora Young, age 82, of McKinney will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Ridgeview Memorial Park. She died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, in McKinney.

The Rev. Don Borland will officiate.

Surviving are her husband, Leonard Young; daughter, Lynette Taylor of Blue Ridge; son, Ronnie Taylor of McKinney; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Susan Carol Booher

SHERMAN -- Services for Susan Carol Booher, 43, who passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dannel Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband, Rex; daughters, Melanie Sims, Melissa Booher and Meranda Booher; father, David Dean; mother, Helen Jones; brothers, David Dean Jr. and Tony Dean; sister, Paula Kay Parker; and five grandchildren.

The family will be at Dannel Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Edwina Weger Waymire

DENISON -- Edwina Weger Waymire, 70, died Sunday, Dec. 2003 in her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert with Quinton Gage officiating.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Wayne Anderson, Bobby Clark, Delbert Martin, Frankie Waymire.

Mrs. Waymire was born February 13, 2003 in Colbert, the daughter of Lee and Addie Weger. She graduated from Colbert High School in Colbert. She married Curtis Waymire on May 26, 1963 in Durant.

She was a waitress at Carl's Cafe in Denison for many years, then worked in Denison High School cafeteria until her retirement. She was a member of Coleman Avenue Church of Christ in Colbert, Oklahoma. Edwina was affectionately known as Aunt Red by her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Curtis Waymire of Denison; niece, Barbara E. Anderson of Denison; great-nephew, Thomas Wayne Anderson and wife, Dina of Denison; great-great-nieces, Makensie and Kassidy Anderson of Denison, and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Leona Hogue, Hazel Spencer, Doris Clark, Dorothy Tierce, and Thelma Hurdle; three brothers, Jack Weger, Clifton "Jiggs" Weger, and Bob Weger,

Arrangements are under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home.

Frances F. Sweeney

DENISON -- Frances F. Sweeney, 98, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003 in Denison Manor.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oakridge Cemetery with the Rev. Brett Castle officiating.

Mrs. Sweeney was born September 2, 1908 in Oakridge Community, the daughter of John and Alice Scivally Foust. She married E.C. (Cecil) Sweeney in November of 1928 in Durant, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1976.

She worked for the Denison Peanut Company and was a member of the East Baptist Church in Denison.

Surviving are her son, Jimmy Sweeney of Denison; daughter, Betty Moser of Denison; grandchildren, Russell and Jimmy Darrell Sweeney, both of Denison, Marsha Jima Reddick of Denison, Steve Moser of Pottsboro, Jeanene Jackson of Baytown, Texas; ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Frank Sweeney in 1960, granddaughter, Carolyn Mabary in 1996 and four sisters.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.

Ted Allen Reynolds

BELLS -- Funeral services for Ted Allen Reynolds, 83, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mullican Little Funeral Home with the Rev. Joan Humphries of Bells United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery North of Ector, Texas. He died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003 in Wilson N. Jones Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Monday at Mullican-Little Funeral Home.

Surviving are his sons, Allen Reynolds of Bells, Royce Reynolds of Whitewright, Archie Reynolds of Granbury, Texas. Dexter Reynolds of Bells; brothers, Robert Reynolds of Sherman, James Reynolds of Bells; sister, Silven Hale of Denison; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
