FUENTES
Surrounded by his beloved wife of 38 years, Minerva, and his three loving daughters, Veronica, Monica and Jessica, Arturo Fuentes crossed peacefully into the Arms of his Creator on May 28, 2004. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 1, 194l. He graduated in 1960 from Fox Tech High School. Arturo was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Margarita Fuentes.
On August 27, 1966 Arturo married the love of his life Minerva Bermudez from Coahuila, Mexico and moved to Eagle Pass, Texas. As an active member of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church he taught religious classes to the youth and began a life long commitment to service of his church.
Beginning with a stint in the U. S. Army, Arturo then joined the Air Force where he served during the Vietname War. Eventually Arturo and Minerva moved to San Antonio where he began his 23-year career with the Alamo Community College District working as an electrician. At ACCD he was a member of the AFSCME union. He also served as Vice President for Civil Rights for LULAC Local #2. A gifted craftsman and electrician Arturo gave of his gifts to his church of St. Ann’s and to community organizations.
Arturo was proud of his Mexican heritage and promoted its language and culture. He had a deep respect for the environment, was a skilled gardener and a tender caretaker of God’s creatures. A man known for his generosity, he could always be counted on to help a friend, neighbor, collaborator, aspiring politician or young person starting on his road in life. He was active in the Beacon Hill Area Neighborhood Association and involved in many civic and community projects. Arturo will be remembered as a passionate activist for democracy, an advocate for the downtrodden and poor working people, an avid reader and genealogy enthusiast. He leaves with us his enthusiasm for life and memories of his love of travel to explore new places and ideas.
Survivors include his wife Minerva, his daughters Veronica, Monica and Jessica Fuentes several siblings, an extended family and a large community of friends.
The Fuentes family would like to thank Father Cayet Mangiaracina and Father Isidro Garcia for their powerful support during their difficult time. The family’s gratitude also goes to the staff, nurses and physicians at the Downtown Baptist Hospital and Christus Santa Rosa for their care of Arturo and their support of the family.
A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at The Angelus Funeral Home and a Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in San Antonio on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 1:00 p. m. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made for scholarships to Providence High School, 1215 N. St. Mary’s, and the Cesar Chavez Scholarship Committee both in San Antonio, Texas.

GARCIA
Mr. Juan H. Garcia, “Boy”, age 59 of San Antonio died on Wednesday, June 9, 2004. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy after 22 years of service. As a sailor, Juan loved to fish. Known as “Boy” to his family, he will always be loved and cherished as the wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, and brother he was and always will be. You will always be missed and never forgotten because you are in our hearts forever. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his father, Juan Garcia, Jr., his mother, Clelia Garza and Jesse G. Castro and brother, Jesse G. Castro, Jr. He is survived by his present companion, Margie Garcia; mother of his children, Margarita Garcia; children, Samuel Martinez, Linda Martinez, Ty H. Garcia, Sr., and Sonya Garcia; sisters, Elia Castro, Cynthia Ann Zapata, Rosemary Castro, and Margaret Rose Garza; brothers, Mario R. Castro and Richard Castro; and grandchildren, Jessica Martinez, Julian Vara, Tylene Vara, Anthony Garcia, Samuel Martinez, Jr., Ty H. Garcia, Jr., and Gia Menchaca.
A Rosary will be recited Thursday, June 10, at 7:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, June 11, at 7:30 AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.

GUADARRAMA
Mrs. Mary Lou Guadarrama age 50 of San Antonio died Tuesday, April 25, 2006. Mrs. Guadarrama was preceded in death by her stepson, Mark Thomas Guadarrama. She is survived by her husband, Richard M. Guadarrama; children: Ariana Guadarrama and Adan Ricardo Guadarrama; parents: Mr. And Mrs. Pedro S. Morales; sister, Diane Camarillo; brothers: Adolfo Morales and wife Rose, Albert Morales and wife Irene.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. in the Angelus Chapel. Visitation will begin on Friday at 5:00 P.M. in the Angelus Chapel with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in the Angelus Chapel. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No.2.

GUIDO
Mr. Charlie B. Guido beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday, January 26, 2004 at the age of 72. He was a member of the Christopher Columbus Italian Society, the San Franciscani Society, and UNICO. His legacy is one of courage, compassion, love, and commitment to his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Grace “Cookie” Guido; daughter, Julie Guido; and grandson, Noah Guido; brother, Dr. Adolph Guido and wife Gladys; sister, Lola Rizzo and husband Louie; numerous nieces, nephews, and many life long friends. Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 P.M. at San Francesco di Paola Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be offered Friday at 10:00 A.M. at San Francesco di Paola Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.

GARCIA
Henry Garcia age 78 of San Antonio died July 20, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Refugia Garcia; wife of 48 years, Claudia Garcia; and his son, David Arevalo. He is survived by his wife, Hortencia Garcia; children, Betty Arevalo-Drew, Rodolfo Garcia, Eduardo C. Garcia, Alfred Garcia, Ernest P. Garcia, Gloria Villarreal, Stella Cook, and Terry Hernandez; brothers, Manuel Garcia and Carlos Garcia; 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening, July 22, at 7:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, July 23, at 9:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.

HILLMEYER
Mrs. Eleanora D. Hillmeyer age 90 of San Antonio died Sunday, August 22, 2010. Mrs. Hillmeyer was preceded in death by her husband, Alois M. Hillmeyer and a daughter, Joan L. Hillmeyer. She is survived by her children: Janet Spagnoletti, Jennifer Simpson, Jerry Hillmeyer, and Jeffrey Hillmeyer; brother, Gilmer Donaubauer; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Thursday at 3:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Friday at 10:15 A.M. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

IBARRA
Jesse Ibarra Jr. passed on to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the age of 67. He was born on September 15, 1942. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Sr. and Florence Ibarra. He is survived by his sons, Joseph and Michael Ibarra; twin sister, Florence (Flossie) Gonzalez; baby sister, Patricia (Anna) Chapa; and brother-in-law, Orlando Sr. Jesse is also survived by his grandchildren, Desiree and Justin Ibarra; nephews, John and Jason Gonzalez and Orlando Jr., and his only niece, Virlanda; and great nephews, Anthony and Sebastian.
We wish to extend a sincere thank you to the Odyssey House. Their staff and medical team were extremely wonderful in making Jesse’s last days here on earth very comfortable and peaceful. They were extremely appreciative of the fact that we chose the Odyssey House to care for him. May God extend many blessings on them for their thoughtfulness and care.
Visitation will begin on Monday, September 6, at 5:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at The Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, September 7, at 1:30 PM at the San Fernando Cathedral. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2.

GUTIERREZ
Mr. Fernando Gutierrez age 82 of San Antonio died Saturday, February 7, 2004. Mr. Gutierrez was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived life to the fullest by traveling and living in many different places. Mr. Gutierrez was preceded in death by his parents, Conception and Vicenta Gutierrez; brothers: Sylvester, Toribio, and Manuel Gutierrez; nieces: Rosie and Irene. He is suvived by his sister-in-law, Alice Gutierrez; nephew, Sylvester Gutierrez, Jr.; nieces: Stella Jimenez and husband Raymond, Margaret Greenfield and husband Joe, Lupe Casiano and husband William, Mary Virginia Gutierrez, Martha Ornelas and husband Margarito, Sylvia Gutierrez, Mary Helen Ornelas and husband Filemon, Pat Amaya and husband Paul, Alicia Tsandoula and husband Dimitri. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 12:00 P.M. in the Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.

GUZMAN
Mr. Ricardo "Richard" Rios Guzman age 63, died Thursday, January 29, 2004. He is preceded in death by his parents: Rudolph and Eva Guzman. Survivors: Wife: Esperanza "Hope" Muniz. Step-Children: Cynthia Muniz, David Muniz, Robert Muniz, Christine Mendez. Brothers: Rudolfo (Mary Helen) Guzman Jr., Ronald Guzman. Grandchildren: Michael, Priscilla, Vincent, Robert Jr., Sevilla. Niece: Celeste (Michael) Mendoza. Nephew: Rene (Maia) Guzman. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 1, at 7:00 P.M. in the Angelus Chapel Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, February 2, at 10:00 A.M. at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2.

HAECKER
Sandra Jean Haecker age 51 of San Antonio entered into eternal rest August 2 , 2003. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Campbell; brothers, Milton (Bubba) Haecker and Wylie (Hubba) Haecker. She is survived by her daughter, Brandy Marie Haecker (Mark Allen Phillips); father, Milton Haecker Sr.; sisters: Linda South, Carol Haecker, and Anna Hernandez (John); brother, Darrin Hester; numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends. She had an enourmous love for everyone in her life, especially her neurotic cat "Bubba". She will be missed greatly by many. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel.

HENSON
Our beloved Evelyn Clara Jung, born January 25, 1925 in Fredericksburg, Texas, passed away at the age of 85, in San Antonio, Texas where she resided since the age of six. She attended St. Henry’s and St. Leo’s Elementary Schools, Blessed Sacrament High School (marching band), and Incarnate Word College (college orchestra).
Following secretarial work at Kelly Field during WW II and San Antonio Transit Company, she married Archie Henson in 1946. A U.S. Air Force Service wife for twenty-five years, she resided in Germany, Panama, Alabama, California, and Texas. Evelyn was active in church work, the choir, and the Officer’s Wives' (Spouses) Clubs. She was also a member of the Air Force JAG Wives’ Club of San Antonio, Our Lady of Grace Altar Society, Trinity Art League, San Antonio Catholic Deacons’ Wives Club, Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, and military-Civilian Club of San Antonio. One of Evelyn’s great pleasures was oil and watercolor painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Clara Fritz Jung; children, John Roy Henson, Mary Patricia Smith, and Marie Michelle Henson; siblings, Robert Jung, Albert Jung and Nora, Werner Jung and Mary, Elsie McCall and Albert, Adela Burnett, Anna Rankin and Orie, and Rita Kathryn Dean. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Archie Henson; children, Lawrence Henson and Hilde Sels, Theresa Lynette Marquina and Edmundo, Sherry Mueller and Theodore, James Henson, Gary Henson, Rita Wilkinson and Joseph, Kathleen Sullivan and Brian, Paul Henson and Monica, Mark Henson and Patricia, Julie Cockrill and Jerry, and Joseph Henson and Frances; 28 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; her sister, Vernell (Dawson) Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, August 26, at 5:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at The Angelus Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, August 27, at 10:00 AM at Air Force Village II Chapel, 5100 John Ryan Blvd. (off Hwy 90W). Graveside services will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice or the Air Force Village Catholic Chapel Fund.

HERNANDEZ
Mrs. Leonor G. Hernandez, age 76 years of San Antonio, Texas died Monday, June 23, 2003. Mrs. Hernandez was a member of the Catholic Daughters, St. Mary Magdalen Altar Society, and the Regina Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan L. Hernandez and by a daughter, Rosa Maria Hernandez. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Garcia; brothers: Francisco Gonzalez and wife Manuela, Augustine Gonzalez, and Juan Gonzalez; grandchildren: Donasiano Garcia and wife Maribel, David A. Hernandez, John Michael Hernandez, Kelly Arguijo and Jesse R. Hernandez; great-grandchildren: Gianna R. Hernandez and Victor A. Garcia. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:30 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2.

HERNANDEZ
Mrs. Jesusa P. Hernandez age 95 of San Antonio died on Friday, April 21, 2006. Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Reymundo Hernandez; 1st born son, Antonio Hernandez. She is survived by her children, Luisa Hernandez, Anita Leon, Raul Hernandez, Antonio Hernandez and wife Connie, and Lidia Soto and husband Richard; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Sister Mary Finbarr for her spiritual and loving care to Big Grandma.
A Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 24, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery # 2.

HERRERA
Mr. Richard Herrera, Jr. age 81 of Bandera, Texas died on Monday, April 21, 2003. Mr. Herrera is preceded in death by his brothers, Raul Herrera, Amado Herrera, and Alfred Herrera; sister, Eva Herrera. He is survived by his daughters, Gloria E. Tavitas and husband Ernest, Lydia Moreno and husband Rick; sister, Sabinita Herrera; grandchildren, Theresa Tavitas, Stephanie Tavitas, Katherine Tavitas, Patricia Arredondo, Michael Arredondo, and Ricky Moreno; and great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 7:30 P.M. in the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

HERRERA
Mr. Rudy Herrera Sr., age 78 of San Antonio died Wednesday, March 24, 2004. Mr. Herrera retired from Kelly Air Force Base after 43 years of faithful service. He is survived by his son, Rudy Herrera and wife Gina; daughter, Danielle Herrera; sisters: Mary Caballero, Lillie H. Valdez, and Josephine “Lupe” Cannon; brothers: Robert V. Herrera and Ernest Herrera; grandchildren: Keagan Herrera and Kaia Herrera.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 3:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Friday at 9:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.

JIMENEZ
Mr. Raul Q. Jimenez, Jr. age 49, of San Antonio, has been called up to heaven by the Lord to begin his eternal life. His memory will always live strong through his loving children Jessica, Raul III, and Arthur Jimenez; mother, Mary Q. Jimenez; sister Patricia Jimenez; granddaughter, Aleena V. Jimenez and all of his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Raul Jr. will also be reunited with his father, Raul Jimenez, Sr., who he loved and respected dearly, Uncle Richard Gutierrez and lifelong friend Hector Garza. Raul Jr. was born on November 15, 1954 in San Antonio. As a young boy growing up he spent many hours at the Boys and Girls Club where he developed a passion for football and baseball. In High School, his athleticism and natural ability allowed him to compete at a higher level. He later went on to play baseball at Bee County College in Beeville, Texas where he was invited to try out for the Montreal Expos, a professional baseball team. After college, Raul Jr. decided to work hand in hand with his father in the family business and not to pursue a career in baseball. He worked his way up to Vice President of Jimenez Food Products and oversaw all facets of the company. He had a great insight for business and was a mentor for all those who worked under his leadership. Raul Jr., believed in living life to the fullest and took advantage of every opportunity that was presented. He made lasting friendships wherever he went and was quite the comedian and best known for telling a great story. He was a great man with strong family values and touched many lives along the way. Raul Jimenez, Jr. it has been an honor and privilege to know you. We will miss you dearly but your memory will always live in our hearts. Thanks for all the good times! Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No.2. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio in memory of Raul Jimenez, Jr., 600 S.W. 19th St., San Antonio, Texas 78207.
