She died Wednesday, September 26, 2001 at her home in Ralls. She was born March 7, 1935 in Red River,  Texas. She married Juan Sanchez on December 6, 1953 in Cameron,  Texas. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls. She moved to Ralls in 1959 from Cameron. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by a brother Jesus Mendoza. Survivors include her husband Juan Sanchez of Ralls, 4 sons Johnny of Vernon, Domingo of Portland, Oregon, Luis of Ralls and Ricky of Post 7 Daughters Carmen Canales of Plainview, Lucy Castillo of Red Oak, Sylvia Sanchez of Lubbock, Elena Bryand of Crosbyton, Linda Sanchez,Janie Sanchez and Emma Talamantez all of Ralls. Two brothers Edward Mendoza of Ralls and Manuel Mendoza of Lorenzo. One sister Mage Ojeda of Salem, Oregon. 53 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Services for Louella Miller, 97 of Ralls will be at 10:00 AM,Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at Emma Church of Christ in Ralls, with Wilburn Dennis of Littlefield officiating. Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home - Ralls. She died Saturday, October 6, 2001 at Crosbyton Hospital. She was born March 14, 1904 in Alvarado,  Texas. She married Leonard Miller on September 4, 1921 in Ralls,  Texas. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1973. She was a member of the Church of Christ where she taught Bible Class. She moved to Ralls in 1907 and was a homemaker. She also worked at the Ralls Chamber of Commerce and the Ralls Museum. She was preceded in death by 2 Sons, Edward in 1931 and Calvin on June 24, 2001 and by 1 daughter in 1932 4 sisters and 4 brothers. She is survived by 2 Grandchildren Janie Puryear of Lubbock and Patsy Murdock of Gonzales. 4 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild, 8 Nieces and 5 Nephews.

Madeline Fewell
Services for Ida Madeline Fewell, 90 of Crosbyton and formerly Glen Rose will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 12, 2001 at Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Kelley, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. She died Monday, October 8, 2001 at the Trinity Care Center in Bridgeport. She was born September 19, 1911 in Scurry County,  Texas. She married Arlie Dean Fewell on December 17, 1930 in Clovis, New Mexico. He died on April 6, 1987. She was an active member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church where she was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women and was also a member of the Crosbyton Order of the Eastern Star. She had worked as the Crosby County Librarian for many years. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Gwen Reed and her husband Buster of Bowie, Ophelia McNeill and her husband George of Glen Rose, 1 Brother M. A. Adams and his wife Lillian of Lubbock, 6 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: Gary Reed, Glenn Reed, Mark Stewart, Cregg Stewart, Rodney Stewart and Tommy Newton. Honorary pallbearers will be Monty Reed, Joe Newton, Brandon Stewart, Brice Stewart, Michael Reed, Chris Reed and Paul Raby. The family suggests memorials to Crosbyton First United Methodist Church or Crosby County Library. The family will receive friends at 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Services for Jessie B. McDougal , 85, of Lampasas will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 12, 2001 at Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Becton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. She died Monday, October 8, 2001 at Lampasas nursing home in Lampasas. She was born November 1, 1915 in Tolar,  Texas. She married A. D. McDougal on November 18, 1934 in Petersburg,  Texas. He died on October 12, 1989. She was a member of the Lampasas First Presbyterian Church and a homemaker. She moved to Arkansas in 1984 from Lorenzo then to the Copperas Cove area in 1990. She was preceded in death by 1 brother W. Odell Cherry on June 25, 1984, 3 Sisters Johnnie Eldredge on October 22, 1989, Inez Brian on January 14, 1991 and Sarah Jane Kidwell on May 23, 1999. Survivors include: 1 son Donald McDougal of Kremlin,  Oklahoma, 3 Daughters, Dorothy Shipp of Vancouver,  Washington, Billie Forester of Three Forks, Montana, Beth Smith of Copperas Cove, 2 brothers, Mell Cherry and Herman Cherry both of Lorenzo. 8 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. The familly suggests memorials to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Wilda Spikes Laminack
Services for Wilda Spikes Laminack, 91 of Ralls will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 13, 2001 at Ralls First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Hubbard officiating and Rev. Larry Reed-Harris assisting. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. She died Thursday, October 11, 2001 at the Ralls Nursing Home. She was born October 3, 1910 in Crosby County,  Texas. She married John Lewie Laminack in January of 1946. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1970. She attended schools in the Farmer and McCoy communities and graduated from Crosbyton High School. She furthered her education by receiving her Bachelors Degree in Home Economics from  Texas Tech in 1935. While attending  Texas Tech she and her twin sister were on the acrobatics team. During WWII she worked at Pantex in Amarillo making mortar shells and taught sewing around Floydada. During the WPA era she set up and managed 22 school lunchrooms in the Aspermont area. She loved painting pictures recreating cowboy and farm scenes, especially horses and windmills. Her entries in the South Plains Fair for painted butter churns, old medicine bottles and large fruit cans won numerous ribbons. She has several paintings in the  Texas Tech Museum, Crosbyton Museum and the Ralls Museum. Survivors include two sons, Dale Laminack and his wife Gayla of Ralls, Johnny Laminack and his wife Rene of Lubbock, One Daughter, Margaret Lancaster and her husband Darrell of Garland. Six Grandchildren Jenifer O'Brien, Jessica Marvin, Shay Laminack, Dale Laminack, II Carley Laminack and Cassidy Laminack. Four Great Grandchildren Melanie and Taryn O'Brien and Wesley and Tanner Marvin. Her extended familly includes the families of Jimmy Laminack , deceased of Statesville, North Carolina, Betty Jarboe of Friona and Darlene Stovall of Floydada. Family suggests memorials to the Ralls First United Methodist Church Operating budget.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. She died Monday, October 15, 2001 at Covenant Medical Center Lakeside in Lubbock. She was born December 10, 1926 in Kenedy,  Texas. She married Tomas Jasso on May 31, 1947 in Runge,  Texas. He died on May 1, 1991. She was a member of Templo Nuevo Vida in Ralls. She moved to Crosby County in 1965 and was a homemaker. Survivors include: 4 Sons: Gilbert Jasso of Crosbyton, Rudy Jasso of Cone, Robert Jasso of Ralls and Ricky Jasso of Slaton. 4 Daughters: Mary Martinez of Ralls, Alice Barboza of Lubbock, Sylvia Ledesma of Ralls and Gloria Flores of Crosbyton. 3 sisters: Maria Rodriguez of San Antonio, Olivia Tobar of Corpus Christi and Ramona Castanea of Tahoka. 25 grandhcildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Danielle Harper presiding. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. They were born on October 28, 2001 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. They died on October 28, 2001 in Lubbock. They were preceded in death by a great grandfather Ewell B. Buckner and a great grandmother Eleanor Simon. Survivors include their parents Todd and Tyneal Buckner of Wolfforth; grandparents, Lou Ann and Lee Roy Boling of Lubbock, Rex and Jeanie Buckner of Lubbock and Milton and Sam Simon of Lubbock; Great Grandparents, DeLaverne Godwin of Lubbock, Jim and Jan Godwin of Lubbock, Kathleen Buckner of Lubbock, Lee Roy and Chris Alsup of Gravette, Arkansas, and Walter and Pearl Simon of Tulia,  Texas. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home. He died Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at Lubbock's Covenant Hospital. He was born September 21, 1921 in Alabama. He married Ima Gene  Taylor on December 31, 1959 in Lubbock. He was a Baptist. He was the manager of the Lorenzo Textile Mill for several years and worked in the research department at  Texas Tech University. He served in the Navy and Air Force during WWII. He was preceded in death by a brother Howard Holcombe. Survivors include: His wife Ima Gene Holcombe of Lorenzo,1 son Coy Holcombe of Malakoff, 1 Stepson David McDaniel of Lubbock, 2 Stepdaughters Judy Jenkins of Lubbock, Jo Lynn Herrington of Idalou, 1 Brother; Boots Holcombe of Alabama,3 Sisters; Margaret Limbo of Alabama, Mary Stewart of Alabama and Ruby Copeland of Missouri, 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Burial is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. She died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001 at her home in Crosbyton. She was born January 26, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ralls. She had worked at Inc Oil convenience store for 9 years and at Allsups for 12 years. She was a lifetime resident of Crosby County.She was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Sol Radford and Ray Radford, and 4 Sisters; Margarette Moore, Dorthy Moore Mary Alice Armstrong and Betty Oxner. Melvin McGaugh
Services for Melvin McGaugh, 85, of Ralls will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 13, 2001 at Emma Church of Christ with Ken Free officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home. He died Monday, December 10, 2001 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born November 25, 1916 in Petersburg,  Texas. He married Cora Inez Hill on November 27, 1937 in Stephenville,  Texas. He was a member of the Ralls Rotary Club, charter member of the Ralls Lions Club and a member of the  Texas Automobile Dealers Association. He owned and operated McGaugh Motors in Ralls for many years. He finished high school in Plainview and attended business college. He moved to Ralls in 1945 from Plainview. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. Survivors include: his wife Cora of Ralls, a son Houston McGaugh of College Station,  Texas, two daughters; Linda Shelby of Baytown, Barbara Grogan of Amarillo, two brothers; J. D. McGaugh and J. R. McGaugh both of Waldron, Arkansas, two sisters; Ruth Calahan of Austin, Louise Poppel of Augusta, Georgia a special neice Carlene Harper and seven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Lubbock Children's Home 4404 Idalou Hwy. Lubbock,  Texas 79403.

Burial is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. She died Wednesday, December 5, 2001 at Lubbock's Covenant Medical Center. She was born February 6, 1926 in Crosby County,  Texas. She married Dutch Hines on December 16, 1950 in Crosbyton. He died July 18, 1994. She was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Crosbyton High School and attended 2 years at West  Texas State College. She worked as a secretary for 18 years at Crosbyton Seed Company and had lived in Crosbyton all her life. Survivors include; 1 son Don Hines of Crosbyton, 1 Daughter; Marsha Morgan of Lubbock, 2 Sisters; Jody Baccus of Lockney and Oleta Tookie"" Wheeler of Crosbyton

He was a farmer and a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls. He moved to Ralls in 1949 from Kenedy,  Texas. Survivors include his wife Margaret Luna of Ralls, 4 sons; Armando Luna, Arturo Luna and Arnulfo Luna all of Ralls and Natividad Luna, Jr. of San Antonio,  Texas, 5 Daughters; Celia Palacios of Crosbyton , Stella Dominguez of Idalou, Sylvia Villa of Mercedes, Rita Pereida of Lubbock, Zoila Casarez of Ralls, 2 brothers; Alfredo Luna Ft. Morgan,  Colo. and Jessie Luna of Lubbock 24 Grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Pallbearers: Eric Pereida, Nicolas Pereida, John Palacios, Jr., Ralph Dominguez, Jr., Jesse Arguijo and Ronnie Villa.

Lonnie Fulford
Services for Lonnie Gene Fulford, 69, of Crosbyton will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 29, 2001 at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton with the Rev. Danny Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home. He died Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at Crosbyton Hospital. He was born November 14, 1932 in Dublin,  Texas. He married Norlena Fowler on August 12, 1965 in Crosbyton. He was a graduate of Meadow High School and worked for the Union ISD until his retirement in 1999. He served in the U. S. Army where he worked as a driver for high ranking officers. He was present at the atomic bomb testing in Nevada while in the service and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. Survivors include; his wife Norlena of Crosbyton, 2 Sons, Randy Fulford or Irving and Jace Fulford of Irving, 1 daughter LaRana Kirby of Meadow 2 Brothers, James Fulford of Lubbock and Dale Fulford of Slaton 2 Sisters JoAnn Lord and Susan Fulford Haney of Slaton 5 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. Pallbearers include Bob Mayfield, Danny Reid, Jeep Haney, Larry Fulford, Gerald Andrews, Eddie McHugh James Fulford and Dale Fulford.

Mary Frances Harris
Services for Mary Frances Harris, 69, of Crosbyton will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at Crosbyton First Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Gentry officiating and Rev. Walter Jackson, and Rev. H. L. Phillips assisting. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. She died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001 at Crosbyton Hospital. She was born November 3, 1932 in Crosbyton. She was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church where she presently served as Treasurer and Missionary Teacher. She has also served as Secretary, Director BTU, Sunday School, GA Girls, Usher Board and Mission President in past years. She graduated from Dunbar High School in Lubbock and beautician school in Ft. Worth. She also attended Amarillo College and took nursing courses in El Paso. Returning to Crosbyton she owned her own beauty shop and had a restaurant as well. Later she worked ar Crosbyton Hospital for 12 years as a nurses aide and visiting nurse"" service from Lubbock. She worked as a cashier at the Winn's Store in Crosbyton until her retirement. She was the Project Director for the book: ""A History of Black Families"". She lived in the Crosbyton area all her life. She is preceded in death by her parents Z. D. Willliams

Floyd Dunn
Services for Floyd Dunn, 90, of Ralls will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001 at Ralls First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Hubbard and Rev. Larry Reed-Farris officiating. Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home - Ralls. He died Thursday, November 8, 2001 at Ralls Nursing Home. He was born December 28, 1910 in Gorman,  Texas. He married Oleta Moses on February 10, 1934 in Henderson,  Texas. He was a member of the Ralls First United Methodist Church. He moved to Crosby County in 1918 from Eastland County. He farmed in the Cone area and was a mechanic at Dunn's Repair Shop. Survivors include: His wife Oleta Dunn of Ralls; 3 sons; Lyndon Dunn of Bowie, Dr. B. Gene Dunn of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Darrell Dunn of Lorenzo; 11 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren. Grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers.

Nell Lamb
Services for Nell Lamb, 68 of Ralls will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 9, 2001 at the Ralls First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Morrow of Kerrville and Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating. Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. She died Wednesday, November 7, 2001 in Crosbyton Hospital. She was born on July 7, 1933 in Floydada. She married Bearl Calvin Ferguson on November 27, 1957. He died on July 12,1982. She then married Orvel Lamb on March 28, 1987 in Floydada. She was an active member of the Ralls First Baptist Church of which she was a former member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Lorenzo Women's Study Club, the Crosbyton Order of the Eastern Star #981, the Licensed Vocational Nurse Association, and the Grand Prairie Quilting Club. She had also served on the Crosby County Fair Board for several years. She had worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Lubbock from which she retired. She moved to Ralls in 1987 from Floydada. Survivors include her husband Orvel Lamb of Ralls, 2 Daughters; Sandra Barton and her husband Darrell of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Debra Ramirez of Owatonna, Minnesota; 4 Grandchildren: Krystal and Maribeth Barton of Albuquerque, NM and Bearl and Nickolas Ramirez of Owatonna, Minnesota.

Lillie Mae Garden
Services for Lillie Mae Garden, 77, of Ralls will be Thursday, November 8, 2001 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Ralls with the Rev. Raymond Roberts officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, November 9, 2001 at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas. She married Ellion Garden in 1944 in Dallas. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Ralls. She was a homemaker and moved to Ralls from Dallas in 1997. She was preceded in death by 1 Brother Elmo Darden and 2 sisters; Clara Mae  Johnson and Lee Etta Smith. Survivors include; one sister Marlene Lauterdale of Ralls and a host of nieces and nephews.
