Lillian Gamble

Decatur - Lillian Gamble, 91, of Decatur, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Decatur Community Hospital.

She was born March 1, 1909, in Bowie. She married James Ray Gamble on Aug. 7, 1927, in Alvord. He is deceased.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Decatur and a homemaker. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the chapel of Coker Funeral Home. Tim Staub will officiate. Burial will be in Chico Cemetery in Chico.

The family will be at Coker Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, for visitation.

Survivors include three sons, Glen Gamble of Marion, Billy Gamble of Bridgeport, and Danny Gamble of Fort Worth; three daughters, Nell North of Fort Worth, Nancy Osborne of Marion, and Helen Thorpe of Eugene, Ore.; two sisters, Bonnie McCrary of Decatur and Mary Adair of Duncanville; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Richard Ingrum

Collinsville - Richard "Buster" Ingrum, 45, of Collinsville, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Denton Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 22, 1955, in Duncan, Okla., to Walter and Mildred Gay Ingrum. He graduated from Duncan High School.

Mr. Ingrum served in the U.S. Army. On May 15, 1976, he married Linda Norred, in Wichita Falls. He worked as a truck driver for Equine Express and was a member of Elm Ridge United Methodist Church in Aubrey.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Elm Ridge United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Richard Stark, Toby Osburn and Joe Funk officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Little Elm.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton.

Memorials may be made to Elm Ridge United Methodist Church, 13885 Nobles Road, Aubrey, Texas 76227.

Survivors include his wife of Collinsville; two daughters, Cleta Ingrum of Sherman and Donna Hunting of Vancouver, Wash.; three sons, Gene Trinklein of Pilot Point, James Ingrum of Collinsville, and Bryan Ingrum of Collinsville; mother of Waurika, Okla.; three sisters, Peggy Tucker of Pine Bluff, Ark., Cleta May Tirey of Waurika, Okla., and Anita Lott of Altus, Okla.; two brothers, Jimbo Ingrum of Lawton, Okla., and Mike Ingrum of Malone; and four grandchildren.

Albert Kennedy

Albert Lindsay Kennedy, 86, of Denton, died Oct. 8, 2000, at Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village.

He was born Sept. 19, 1914, in Pittsburgh, Pa. He married Mildred Jane Emery on June 8, 1943, in Pittsburg. She died in 1993.

Mr. Kennedy served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and was captain when he transferred to the Reserve. He was past chairman of the Republican Club of Volusia County, Fla. He was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Kiwanis. He was president of Kennedy Associates.

Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at St. Mark's Catholic Church with Father Gene Sweeney officiating. Interment will be in Pittsburgh. DeBerry Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, 3550 N. Central Avenue, Suite 300, Phoenx, Ariz. 85012.

Survivors include his daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Kennedy of Lake Dallas, and Patricia Bialas Kennedy Viard of Kalamazoo, Mich.; son, Timothy Emery Kennedy of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. His son, Albert Lindsay Kennedy Jr., is deceased.

Pat Ross

Fort Worth - Pat Ross, 56, of Fort Worth, died Oct. 7, 2000.

He was born March 29, 1944, in Detroit, Texas. As a young man he married Thelma Kendricks. Later he married Carline Jackson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Denton. A memorial service will be from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, Oct. 10, at 4101 Redstone, Denton. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Survivors include his children, Angela Count and Annette Kendy, Tina Royce, Bridgette Jackson, Andrea Jackson, Pat Ross Jr., Angel Ross, Jonnie Ross; two sisters, Pauline Pierce and Shirley Matson; two brothers, Walter Phillips and Jimmy Phillips.

Mary Snavely

Mary Snavely, 80, of Pine Bluff, Ark., died at home Sunday. The Sweetwater, Texas native, daughter of Walter Lee and Anna Marie Snead Hunter, became a registered nurse at age 19, earning her BSN and MSN degrees from UCA in the 1970's.

She practiced public health, private duty, and hospital nursing in South Central Oklahoma. She married Howard H. Snavely in Ardmore, Okla., on December 25, 1940, and moved to Pine Bluff in 1960. Mr. Snavely died February 20, 1990. She taught practical nursing at Pines Vocational Technical School from 1966 to 1969. In the 1970's, she taught registered nurse training classes at UAM, in Hot Springs, and at Henderson State University. In 1980, she established the registered nursing school at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, designing the program's curriculum. From 1983 until retiring in 1986, she taught in the UAPB nursing program.

She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, the Mathontes Club, was active in local state and national professional nursing organizations, and served on the board of directors of Area Agency on Aging in Pine Bluff for several years.

Survivors include Joe W. Snavely, DDS, of Austin, Texas, son; Judy L. Williams of Fort Worth, Texas, daughter; Howard Jim Snavely, PhD., of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jack A. Snavely of Moore, Oklahoma, stepsons; two grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; Elizabeth Brian Lang of Brenham, Texas, sister; Emily Rhine of Beaumont, Texas, niece; extended family and friends. A grandson, Brian Hamilton, died July 25, 1998.

Services are 10:30 AM Wednesday, Robinson's Chapel, Pine Bluff, Ark. Memorials requested to JRMC School of Nursing, 1515 West 42nd Street, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603, or Trinity Village, Medical Center or Infirmary Nursing Staff Development, 6400 Trinity Drive, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603.

Joe Pace Maddox

Weatherford - Joe Pace Maddox, 73, of Weatherford, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at his residence.

He was born April 13, 1927, in Era, to James Oren and Flora Ethel Pace Maddox.

Mr. Maddox graduated from Denton High School and Texas A&M. He served in the U.S Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a civil engineer and was the resident senior engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation when he retired.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Valley View Cemetery with Terry Collins officiating. DeBerry Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Janis Lynn Maddox of Grand Prairie and Elizabeth Ann Maddox of Denton; son, Jim Joe Maddox of Denton; sister, Juanita Ruth Maddox Jarrell; seven grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.

Vicky June Pruett

Vicky June Pruett, 55, of Denton, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in Denton.

She was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Fort Worth, to Albert Green and Mary Kathleen (Bailey) Gardner. She married Charles Pruett on Sept. 10, 1963, in Marietta, Okla. She was a graduate of Slidell High School and University of North Texas.

Mrs. Pruett was employed as a secretary by Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she was a member, a Sunday School teacher, and played the piano.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Richardson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wise County.

The family will be at Goen-Hudgens Funeral Home of Denton from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 11, for visitation.

Survivors include her husband of Denton; two sons, Charles Stephen Pruett of Slidell and Stanley Keith Pruett of Aubrey; a daughter, Jana Ray Pruett of Denton; a brother, William Albert Gardner of Grand Saline; a sister, Lella Beth Voglino of Kingsland; and two grandchildren.

Lillie Vaughn

Cleburne - Lillie Ruth Cox Vaughn, 96, formerly of Denton, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Walls Regional Hospital.

She was born July 27, 1904, in Hamilton County. She was married to G.O. "Ohmer" Vaughn. He died July 9, 1995.

Mrs. Vaughn was a homemaker and a member of Field Street Baptist Church. She was a former resident of Fairhaven Retirement Center in Denton.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Field Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Graham officiating. Burial will be in Everman Cemetery, Everman.

Pallbearers will be Bud Vaughn, Chad Fitzgerald, Joshua Smith, Dan Vaughn, Tony Vaughn and Van Vaughn.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home in Cleburne.

Survivors include two sons, George Vaughn of Irving and Louis Vaughn of Cleburne; sister, Ruby Holland of Irving; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Winnie Cunningham

Winnie Mae Biggerstaff Cunningham, 94, of Denton, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, at her residence.

She was born July 5, 1906, to John and Lillian Lusk Biggerstaff, in Flower Mound. She married Gordon G. Cunningham on April 10, 1935, in Denton.

Mrs. Cunningham was a homemaker.

She was a member of Flower Mound Presbyterian Church.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Flower Mound Cemetery. The Rev. John Stout will officiate. DeBerry Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of Denton; son, Gordon Wayne Cunningham of Denton; and sister, Lorene Biggerstaff McFarling of Richland Hills. Two brothers, J.B. Biggerstaff and Lawrence Biggerstaff, are deceased.

Jack Jablonski

Medina, N.D. - Jack Curtis Jablonski, 82, of Medina, N.D., died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 25, 1918, in Peterson Township, N.D., to John S. and Mary (Leopold) Jablonski. He married Fae Cleo Carter in 1950. She died March 7, 1993.

Mr. Jablonski graduated from Medina High in 1936 and operated the family farm.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Medina and served on the church board. He served on the Peterson Township Board for many years and was involved in many farming organizations.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 12, at United Church of Christ, Medina, N.D. Interment will be in Medina Cemetery. Lisko Funeral Home of Jamestown, N.D., was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his four daughters, Sharon Cummings of Cavalier, N.D., Marilyn Reule of Menoken, N.D., Karen Brendel of McKenzie, N.D., and Vivian Borth-Smith of Denton; two sons, Lyle and Gene Jablonski of Medina, N.D.; one sister, Dorothy of Monroe, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. One brother is deceased.

Chrystal Madewell

Chrystal Beatrice Madewell, 88, of Denton, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 6, 1912, in Argyle, to Oscar and Florence Carter (Wells) Wood. She married Lee Madewell on July 2, 1927, in Fort Worth. He died in 1976.

Mrs. Madewell was a homemaker and worked many years as an aircraft assembler during World War II.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Old Alton Cemetery. The Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Oct. 12, at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Yount of Denton and Wanda Lee Moseley of Garland; one sister, Laura Auxier of Fallon, Nev.; three grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.

Roy Markham

Bridgeport - Roy Holman Markham, 83, of Bridgeport, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in a Weatherford hospital.

He was born March 7, 1917, in Booneshill, Tenn. He married Elizabeth Crandall on Dec. 24, 1945, in Denton. He was a veteran of World War II and was a prisoner of war for three years. He received a silver star for bravery for saving the life of a fellow marine.

Mr. Markham was a private contractor in the rock hauling business.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 12, at Sanger Cemetery in Sanger. Bill Dye will officiate.

The family will be at Coker Funeral Home of Sanger from 11 to 1:30 today, Thursday, Oct. 12, for visitation.

He is survived by his, Elizabeth Markham of Bridgeport, nieces and nephews.

William Moreland

Pilot Point - William N. Moreland, 93, of Pilot Point, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Careage Place Nursing Home.

He was born May 3, 1907, in Formosa, Kan., to William Wallace and Carolyn (Meines) Moreland. He married Catherine Sullivan on June 26, 1946, in New Orleans, La.

Mr. Moreland was a retired meteorologist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Jacksonville, Fla. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force.

He was Episcopalian and a member of the Professional Engineers and Meteorologists Association.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 12, in Tioga Cemetery, Tioga. The Rev. John Hicks officiated. Huff/Slay Funeral Home of Pilot Point was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Long of Virginia.

Bruce Pullen

Bruce David Pullen, 47, of Denton, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Pullen was born Dec. 30, 1952, in Sherman, at Perrin Air Force Base. He was a tool and dye maker in window manufacturing.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.

Memorials may be made to Ann's Haven Hospice in Denton.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Pullen of Denton; mother, Jeanne Berry of Granbury; father, Roy M. Pullen of West Tawakoni; daughter, Amanda Pullen of Denton; sons, Shane and Jason Pullen, both of Denton; sisters, Sherri Barnes of Balch Springs and Debra Jordan of Lewisville; brothers, Kent Burns of Irving, Keith Burns of Dallas, Kelly Burns of Westville, Okla., and Barry Burns of Seattle, Wash. His stepfather and grandparents are deceased.
