Daniel Martinez
Services for Daniel Martinez, 53, of Lubbock will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 1, 2002 at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton with Rev. Michael Dwyer and Rev. Leonardo Pahamtang officiating. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 31, 2002 at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born May 8, 1948 in Sinton,  Texas. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lubbock. He had worked at Reese Air Force Base retiring in 1994. He was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam where he served as an Air Borne Unit Sgt. He received the Bronze star and an air medal. He moved to Lubbock in 1970 after him military service and was a former resident of Crosbyton.
Preceded in death by his father Juan Martinez on Feb. 18, 1990.
Survivors inlcude: his mother Maria Martinez of Lubbock, a brother Thomas Martinez of Lubbock, 2 sisters Irene Martinez of Lubbock and Minnie Padilla of St. Paul, MN. 9 nieces and nephews.

Pearl Campbell
Services for Pearl Campbell, 92, of Crosbyton will be at 3:00 PM, Monday, March 18, 2002 at Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Kelley, pastor officiating.
Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
She died Sunday, March 17, 2002 at Crosbyton Hospital.
She was born August 23, 1909 in Hamilton County,  Texas. She married Arthur Campbell on October 15, 1928 in Henrietta,  Texas. He died on April 26, 1963.
She was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She moved to Crosby County in 1928 from the Wichita Falls area. She and her late husband farmed until his death, then she worked at the Girl Scout Camp, the Crosbyton Nursing Home and for 10 years sat with patients at the Crosbyton Hospital. She was an avid Quilter and loved to play dominoes, forty two and canasta.
She is preceded in death by a brother Alvis Summers and 4 sisters Gertrude Brixey, Myrtle Denny , Ara Windsor and Ladelle Smith.
Survivors include 2 sons Arvil Lee Campbell and his wife Wanda of the Farmer Community, Delton Campbell and his wife Peggy of Idalou, 1 sister Venia Mae Pray of Crowley, LA, 5 grandchildren Deborah Cole of Lubbock, Arvilla James of Lubbock, Kelly Campbell of Farmer Community, Shelly Campbell of Prosper and Sherry Dickerson of Plainview, 8 great grandchildren Dustin and Daniel Cole, Jason and Whitney James, Cody and Holly Campbell, Stephanie Campbell Bartlett and Blaine Dickerson.
Pallbearers: John James, Darrell Cole, Kelly Campbell, Dustin Cole, Daniel Cole, Jason James and Cody Campbell.
The family suggests memorials to Crosbyton First United Methodist Church of the Crosbyton Order of the Eastern Star.

Stanley "Chick" Edwards
Graveside Services for Stanley "Chick" Edwards, 90, of Crosbyton will be at 2:00 PM, March 18, 2002 at Crosbyton Cemetery with Elder Tom  Taylor officiating. Burial will be under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. He died Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Floydada Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was born May 14, 1911 in Speedwell, Tennessee. He married Georgia Boyd on June 23, 1955 in Clovis, New Mexico. She died on November 21, 1998.
He was a member of the Crosbyton Primitive Baptist Church. He was a trucker and moved to Crosbyton in 1916 from Tennessee.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Glenda Kemp of Floydada, Donna Fowler of Ft. Worth, Reba Sageser of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, 1 brother Zola Edwards of Victoria, 3 sisters Stella Miller of Engleside, Alene Fain of Victoria and Florice Nicholson of Paris, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Altha Nance
Graveside services for Altha Nance, 85, of Crosbyton will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 16, 2002 at Crosbyton Cemetery with Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Burial will be under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
She died Thursday, February 14, 2002 at Crosbyton Hospital. She was born June 29, 1916 in Fairview Community in Crosby County. She married Ellis Nance on August 24, 1935 in Ralls,  Texas. He died June 20, 1996.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton and the Order of Eastern Star. She moved back to Crosbyton in 1995 from Colorado.
Survivors include 1 brother, Warren  Jackson of Lubbock, 2 sisters Veta James and Naomi Criswell both of Lubbock.

Pablo Ovalle, Jr.
Almarez. Service for Pablo Ovalle, Jr. 51, of Lubbock will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 16, 2002 at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton with Rev. Leonardo Pahamtang officiating.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Friday, February 15, 2002 at the same church.
Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at his home in Lubbock. He was born June 3, 1950 in San Antonio,  Texas. He moved to Lubbock in 1991 from Crosbyton.
Survivors include His Parents: Pablo Sr., and Bessie Ovalle of Crosbyton, 3 brothers; Gilbert and Louis Angel Ovalle of Lubbock, Paul Anthony Murillo of Tahoka, 5 sisters; Julia Ovalle of Dallas, Rachel Gomez of Lubbock, Lydia Martinez of Crosbyton , Gabina Ovalle of Ft. Worth and Sandra Guerrero of Abilene. Pallbearers are Rolando Aguayo, Joey Martinez, Lee Ovalle, J. D. Ovalle, Phillip Gomez and Arturo Almarez

Hubert "Doc" Turner
Graveside Services for Hubert “Doc” Turner, 78, of Crosbyton will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at Crosbyton Cemetery with Elder George  Johnson officiating. Burial is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died Friday, January 4, 2002 at Crosbyton Nursing Home. He was born October 10, 1923 in Arthur, Tennessee. He had spent most of his life in Crosbyton and had worked as a newspaper carrier for the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal for many years as well as working as a painter and carpenter. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church I Crosbyton since 1933. He served in the Navy during WWII and received 3 unit citations.
Survivors include a sister Beulah Bennett of Stockton,  Calif. A Brother Curtis Moore of Manteca, Calif and 2 nephews Bob Bennett and Lewis Turner also of  Calif.
The family suggests memorial to the American Cancer Society.

Frances Herrod Rautis
Memorial graveside services for Frances Herrod Rautis, 91, of Amarillo will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 11, 2002 in Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Echols officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
She died Tuesday, April 9, 2002.
She was born December 20, 1910 in Carrollton, Mississippi, and married Thomas T. Easter in 1943. He died in 1960. She then married John F. Rautis in 1989. He died in 1996.
She moved to  Texas in March 1911 and graduated from Crosbyton High School in 1929. She attended  Texas Tech and was a schoolteacher in rural  Texas in the early 1930's. She worked for the federal government in Crosbyton , the state of  Texas in Lubbock, the city of Los Angeles and the state of California in Indio,  Calif. She served in the military as a WAC in 1942 and 1943.
Survivors inlcude 3 nephews and 2 nieces.

Geraldine Shock
Graveside Services for Geraldine Shock, 67, of Lubbock will be at 4:00 PM, Thursday, April 4, 2002 at Crosbyton Cemetery with Joe Keyes officiating. Burial is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
She died Monday, April 1, 2002 at her home in Lubbock. She was born April 24, 1934 in Pampa,  Texas. She married James R. Shock on December 22, 1956 in Seagraves,  Texas. He died on December 21, 1994.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Seagraves and the Quaker Ave. Church of Christ. She taught school for 33 years in Seagraves where she had served as senior sponsor, choir director, High School English teacher and Scholastics Analyst for eight years. She was also a member of the  Texas State Teachers Association and the Music Club.
She moved to Lubbock in 1995 from Seagraves.
Survivors include, a son Jim Shock and his wife Becky of Crosbyton, a daughter Paula Ponder and her husband Mike Ponder of Lubock a brother J. E. Earhart of Eunice, New Mexico, 4 grandchildren, Jon Ponder, James Ponder, Jordan Ponder and Coltin Shock.
Pallbearers: Mike Ponder, Jon Ponder, James Ponder, Jimshock, Kevin Fisk, Terry Parker, Larry Yowell and Coltin Shock.

John L. "Jack Mallow
Services for John L. "Jack" Mallow, 82, of Lubbock will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 29, 2002 at Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
He died Wednesday, March 27, 2002 in IHS Hospital in Lubbock. He was born November 27, 1919 in Ralls,  Texas. He married Thelma Oleta Hornsby on June 14, 1952 in Ralls,  Texas. She died February 10, 2002.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He had worked as a mechanic and a heavy equipment operator in Colorado, New Mexico and  Texas. He moved to Lubbock in 1996 from Hobbs, New Mexico. He had moved from Ralls in 1959. He was a veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Jackie Mullinax of Clovis, New Mexico, Jerri McLain of Lubbock and Jo Baker of Lubbock. 3 Sisters: Louise Horry of Moreno Valley,  Calif., Bettye Philpott of Cisco,  Texas and Sis Wright of Kermit,  Texas 5 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren, 4 Step Great Grandchildren.

Julia Beth Johnston
Services of Julia Beth Johnston, 66 years old as of February 19th, of Crosbyton will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2002 in the Church of Chist in Crosbyton with Terry Ellison and Joe Keyes officiating. Burial to follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home. She was a loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She was the co-owner and operator of Johnston Enterprises. She was a member of the Crosbyton Church of Christ. She moved to Crosbyton in 1958 from Lubbock. She was born February 19, 1936 in Lubbock and died at her home March 7, 2002. She married Ramon Johnston on April 18, 1958 in Lubbock. Survivors include; her husband, Ramon Johnston of Crosbyton, 4 children; Ramon Johnston, Jr. of Lubbock, Julie Wilson of Post, Robert Johnston of Lubbock and Judie Johnston of Lubbock, a brother Elmer Reed of Lubbock, 11 grandchildren; Ramon Lee Johnston, Tiffany Johnston, Tyson Johnston, Clifton Johnston, Jameson Crayne, Austin Crayne, Bobby Johnston, Katie Johnston, Ashley Wilson, Timothy Wilson and Amber Wilson. The family suggests memorials to  White River Youth Camp, P. O. Box 455 Crosbyton,  Texas 79322. Pallbearers: Brooks Ellison, John Dunlap, Ron Graves, Don Parker, Charles Thornton, Larry Yowell, Steve Henn and Gary Cash.

Pamela Suzette Dunn Rowland
Services for Pamela Suzette Dunn Rowland, 42 of Caddo,  Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 8, 2002 at Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. She died March 5, 2002 at her home in Caddo,  Oklahoma. She was born October 6, 1959 in Lubbock,  Texas. She married Brad Rowland on May 25, 1991 in Milburn,  Oklahoma. She was a member of the Dugway Community Church in Dugway, Utah. She was a graduate of Ralls High School and attended  Texas Tech University for a year and then attended some classes at  Oklahoma State University. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband Brad of Dugway, Utah, three sons; Saxon Jumon, Jaydan Bradley and Blake Paddock Rowland all of Dugway, Utah, her parents; Mary McFadden of Caddo,  Oklahoma, Darrell and Barbara Dunn of Ralls, Grandparents: U. B. and Thelma Robinson of Caddo,  Oklahoma, Oleta Dunn of Ralls, two brothers; Philip Dunn of Andrews, Jeff Dunn of New Boston, Michigan, one sister Jayna Perryman of Afton,  Texas. Pallbearers: Scott Perryman, Justin Strickland, David Dunn, Joe Dunn, Donny Dunn, Kevin Chron, Curtis Chron, Dee Moses.
