Margaret Kelly

Margaret P. Kelly, 91, of Denton died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at the Denton Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Oct. 31, 1909, in Carrollton to John and Margaret Powell.

Ms. Kelly was a member of the Bell Avenue Baptist Church.

The service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Belew Cemetery in Aubrey.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, Howard Kelly of Denton; a daughter, Lynell Land of Denton; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Annie Mae Owens

Annie Mae Owens, 95, of Denton, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at the Cottonwood Manor.

She was born July 31, 1905, in Mineola to Henry and Becky Morse. On Sept. 20, 1920, she married James Samuel Owens in Denton. He is deceased.

Mrs. Owens was a retired seamstress for Russell-Newman.

She was a member of the Full Gospel Church.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 21, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Jack Howard and Buddy Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Belew Cemetery in Aubrey.

Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at the funeral home.

Survivors include three daughters, Bobbie Lou McBride of Brownwood, Ann Mathiasch and Fern Little of Denton; one son, Pat Huggins of Abilene; one sister, Loretta Hudgins of Roanoke; one brother, Ray Morse of Waco; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Hollis Harris

Sanger - Hollis Wayne Harris Sr., 53, of Sanger died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in El Paso.

He was born April 29, 1948, in Dallas, to Benton and Ida Allene Seale Harris. On June 29, 1991, he married Ramona Reeves in Denton.

Mr. Harris served in the U.S. Army during the Vietname War and was a truck driver for Horizon Transport. He was a member of the Cooper Creek Baptist Church.

The service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, May 20, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Bobby Bryan officiating.

Pallbearers will be Junior Harris, Larry Lavohn, Anthoney James, John James, Christopher Nix, Tommy Keene, Darrell Knighten, and Lloyd Elliston.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of Sanger; three daughters, Amy Killin of Whitesboro, Holly Landtroop of Gordonville, and Liesha Hardy of Sanger; two sons, Hollis Wayne Harris Jr. of Kingston, Okla., and Larry Lavohn of Sanger; a sister, Sherri Brantly of Douglassville; a brother, Monroe Harris of LaMesa; seventeen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Harold Squires

Pilot Point - Harold Grover Squires, 74, of Pilot Point died May 18, 2001, at Denton Community Hospital.

He was born July 24, 1926, in Denton to Henry Grover and Vesta Velma Ellason Squires. On July 2, 1945, he married Aumon Lawson in Denton.

Mr. Squires was a retired truck driver and a member of the Woodman of the World. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Argyle.

The service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the chapel of Huff/Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point. The Rev. Chris Walden will officiate. Burial will be in Belew Cemetery in Aubrey.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lee Hampton, Justin Hampton, Heath Squires, Brandy Walker, Dwaine Lawson, John Reeves.

Survivors include his wife, Aumon Squires of Pilot Point; one daughter, Glenda Carolyn Hampton of Collinsville; one son, Harold Gene Squires of Aubrey; one sister, Marilyn Joy Walker of Little Elm; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Howard

Ponder - Mary H. Howard, 74, of Ponder, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Wise county, to Harmon and Alice (Hames) Belcher. On June 16, 1962, she married Clifton "Pete" Howard in Fort Worth.

Mrs. Howard was retired from Safeway and was a homemaker.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. Dr. Don Dyal will officiate. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery in Krum.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Bartel, Lance Morrison, Bryan Belcher, Robert Paul Trietsch, Tommy Belcher, and Charles Ray Stephens.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, for visitation.

Survivors include her husband, Pete of Ponder; two sons, Ronnie and Ricky Trietsch, both of Sanger; three sisters, Fannie Myers of Sherman, Lucille Adcock of Denton, and Lourenia Stephens of Aubrey; three brothers, Frank Belcher of Pilot Point, E.W. Belcher of Sanger, and C.R. "Bus" Belcher of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Her son, Phillip Ray Trietsch, sister, Anne Bell Stephens, and brothers, Jake Belcher and Gene Belcher, are deceased.

Emory Knapp

Parvin - Emory Knapp, 85, of Parvin, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Denton Community Hospital.

He was born Nov. 11, 1915, in Parvin to Charles H. and Emma (Dolly) Jackson Knapp. On April 20, 1940, he married Waldene Moore in Aubrey.

Mr. Knapp was a retired farmer. He was president of the Prosper Co-op Gin, president of the Producers Compress of McKinney, president of NE-TEX Co-op Oil Mill, a volunteer at the Purchasing Group of Bonham, and the chairman of the board of the Federal Land Bank of Denton.

Mr. Knapp was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church in Parvin.

The service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Tracy Epting, Gilbert Callaway and Cecil Threadgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Parvin. Pallbearers will be Bob, Paul, and Jerry Price, Hal Jackson, Robie Reynolds, and J.D. Henderson.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, for visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Good Hope Cemetery in care of G.C. Rue, 606 Ash, Celina, Texas, 75009.

Survivors include his wife of Parvin; a daughter, Patsy Knapp Price of Pilot Point; a son, Charles Knapp of Prosper; a sister, Nahum Bradford of Lewisville; and a brother, John Berkeley Knapp of Garland.

James Lynch

Krum - James Duncan Lynch, 67, of Krum, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Denton Community Hospital.

He was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Denton. On April 1, 1958, he married Joyce Duffie in Justin.

Mr. Lynch was an inspector for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Schmitz-Floyd-Anderson Funeral Home with Jim Hill officiating. Burial will be in Bolivar Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Fred Baker Jr., James Lee Collett, Joseph Coy, Jeff Liu, Dennis Lynch, Michael Lynch, Michael Ray Lynch, Rocky Turner, and Shane Austin Lynch.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, for visitation.

Survivors include his wife of Krum; two sons, David R. Lynch of Denton and Don R. Lynch of Estes Park, Colo.; a daughter, Dona Raquel Lynch of Grand Prairie; six sisters, Nell Baker of Denton, Bernice Collett of Sanger, Glenda Rayburn of Arthur City, Roberta Coy of Macon, Mo., and Mattie Johnson and Mary Liu, both of Denton; four brothers, Benjamin and Glenn Lynch of Weatherford, Melvin Lynch of Burleson, and Raymond Lynch of Aubrey; and three grandchildren.

Harold Squires

Pilot Point - Harold Grover Squires, 74, of Pilot Point, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Denton Community Hospital.

Huff/Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point.

James "Phil" Bivona

James Phillip "Phil" Bivona, 64, Thursday, May 17, at the Medical Center of Plano after a brief illness. Services will be held Saturday, May 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel Funeral Home at 6101 Bosque Boulevard in Waco at 9:30 a.m. Services will be led by Father Richard Petranek. A memorial service will be held in Dallas on Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Le Meriden Hotel, downtown location in the Sunset Room.

Phil was born Nov. 21, 1936, in Waco, to James Victor Bivona and Irma McGowan Bivona. He was a 1955 graduate of Waco High and a 1959 graduate of Baylor University. He was a certified public accountant with Ernst and Young in Dallas. Earlier in his career he was also a partner at Arthur Anderson and Company and KPMG Peat Marwick. He also spent two years on the faculty of Baylor University, earning a "favorite professor" award his first semester there.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Christel Bivona, of Dallas; stepson, T.J. Jaworsky, and wife, Holli, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and children by his first wife, Barbra Bivona of Waco; son, Brian Bivona and wife, Melissa, of Waco; daughter Lisa Hawkins and husband, Brad, of Denton; daughter, Patti Bivona of Dallas; daughter, Melanie Illich and husband, Paul, of Waco; daughter Amy Martinez-Negrete and husband, Gonzalo, of Waco; brother, Hugh Bivona, of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Ernst and Young Tax Compliance at 2121 San Jacinto, Suite 1500, Dallas, Texas 75201.

Raymond Hogan

Valley View - Raymond Hogan, 58, of Valley View died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Denton Community Hospital.

He was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Gainesville. He married Frances Meyer in Valley View on Aug. 10, 1962.

Mr. Hogan was a buyer for I.C.I Glidden Print Co. for 37 years.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at First Baptist Church in Valley View. The Revs. Glenn Kersey, Charles Cater and Larry Huffman will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, May 18, at Clement-Keel Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Memorials may be made to the Valley View Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 366, Valley View, Texas 76272.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Hogan; one son, William Hugh Hogan of Valley View; three daughters, Cindy Hogan of Valley View, Robin Dahl of Euless, and Shaune Bridges of Valley View; two brothers, David Hogan of Waco and James Hogan of Lake Kiowa; four sisters, Wanda Paschal of Dumas, Glenda Pryor of Boyd, Dorotha Edwards of Fort Worth, and Beverly Hogen of Lake Kiowa; and three grandchildren.

Mary Howard

Ponder - Mary H. Howard, 74, of Ponder died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center.

Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home of Denton.

Kaden Pennartz

Decatur - Kaden Cole Pennartz, 6, of Decatur died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Cooks Children's Hospital in Fort Worth.

He was born Dec. 17, 1994, in Decatur to Craig and Melissa Pennartz.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur. Father Gonzo will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Coker Funeral Home of Decatur is in charge of arrangements.

The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, May 18, at Assumption Catholic Church.

Survivors include his parents of Decatur; one brother, Kase Pennartz of Decatur; his grandparents, Clarence and Lillian Pennartz of Decatur, and Larry and Glenda Campbell of Van Alstyne; his great-grandparents, Morris and Cat Campbell of Graham; and his great-great-grandmother, Emma Campbell of Graham.

Vera Stroud

Aurora - Vera Esteline Stroud, 82, of Aurora died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Decatur.

She was born Aug. 12, 1918, in Aurora.

Ms. Stroud was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Aurora Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, in Aurora Cemetery. LeeRoy Jackson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, May 18, at Coker Funeral Home in Decatur.

Survivors include one brother, James Stroud of Fort Worth; and two sisters, Edith Mae Brown and Naomi Stroud Ward, both of Rhome.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Junella Kemp Bowers.
