He died Wednesday, May 14, 2002 at Lubbock Health Care Cneter. He was born August 31, 1909 in Lakeview, Texas. He married Ollie Beatrice "Ted" Ogle Hancock on February 9, 1995 in Lubbock, Texas. She died December 23, 2000.
He was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church and was a graduate of Ralls High School. He moved to Lubbock in 1994 from California.
Survivors include: 2 Stepsons; Ricky Hancock of Lubbock and Michael Hancock of McAdoo and a sister Jewel Benton of Lubbock.

Services for Petra Hernandez, 80, of Ralls will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 31, 2002 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls with Rev. Tim Judd officiating. Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, and Thursday at the same church.
Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home - Ralls.
She died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at her home in Ralls. She was born October 22, 1921 in Goliad, Texas. She maried Guadalupe Sosa Hernandez on May 17, 1944 in Nueces County, Texas. He died June 5, 1987.
She was a member of St. Michael's Cahtolic Church where she was in the Prayer Group and the Ladies Organization. She moved to Ralls in 1961 from Robstown, Texas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: four daughters; Amanda Cortez, Ofilia Quintanilla, Petra Resendez and Juana Marin all of Ralls, a sister; Crestina Perez also of Ralls 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are: Arturo Hinojosa, Billy Quintanilla, Michael Hernandez, Morry Martinez, Arunaldo Hernandez and Joe Luis Resendez.
Truman Matheny
Graveside Services for Truman H. Matheny, 66, of Lubbock will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 22, 2002 at Ralls Cemetery with Ronny Wright officiating. Burial is under direction of Adams Funeral Home - Ralls.
He died Saturday, July 20, 2002 at his home in Lubbock. He was born October 18, 1935 in Lubbock.
He was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock. He was a graduate of Lubbock High School and worked for Wicker Sea Food and Tony's Frozen Pizza. He had lived in Lubbock all his life.
Survivors include, a son Charles of Ralls, a brother W. L. of Lubbock, a sister Joyce Young of Lubbock and 3 granddaughters, Alyssia Contreras of Lubbock, Cassie Matheny and Heather Matheny both of Ralls.
Leo Koelder
Services for Leo Koelder, 96, of Hale Center will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Geroge Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. She died Saturday, May 25, 2002 at Lubbock Covenant Medical Center. She was born July 13, 1905 in Haskell County, Texas. She married Herman Koelder in 1950 in Hale County, Texas. He died in 1985.
She was a member of the Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She moved to Crosby County from Haskell County as a child. She worked a a nurse in the Plainview Hospital for some time. They lived and farmed southwest of Hale Chenter for many years. She is preceded in death by a brother, Chester Campbell and a sister Ivy Wall.
Survivors include two sisters; Viola Marley of Crosbyton, Elvie Mackey of Lamesa and a nuber of nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

J. H. Whitehead
Memorial services for James H. "Cotton" Whitehead, 74, of Ralls will be at 1:30 PM, Monday, May 27, 2002 at Ralls First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Reed-Farris officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 27, 2002 under direction of Adams Funeral Home. He died May 23, 2002 at his home in Ralls. He was born August 14, 1927 in Comanche, Texas. He married Joyce McDermett on November 21, 1952 in Ralls, Texas.
He was a member of the Ralls First United Methodist Church. He moved to the Ralls Area in 1933 and graduated from Ralls High School in 1945. He was a charter member of the Pleasant Hill Coop. Gin of which he served on the board of directors for many years. He was also a charter member of the Ralls Lions club and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years. He was Ralls Chamber Cotton Boll Fest Marshall in 1995 and retired from farming in 1997. He served in the Navy during WWII.
Survivors include: His wife Joyce Whitehead of Ralls, a son Tony Whitehead and his wife Cindy of Lubbock, a daughter Jane Spruill and her husband Don of Pensacola, Florida, a sister; Joann Katton of Harlingen, Texas four grandchildren; Lindsey Ellison of Austin, Blake Spruill of Pensacola, FL, Allison and Emily Whitehead both of Lubbock.
Pallbearers: Michael Rainwater, Randy Rainwater, Andy Rainwater, Carlos Rainwater, Alfred Kay, Britt McDermett, Ken Gallegly, Billy Anderson and Joseph Kelsey.

The family will receive freinds at 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

He was a cattle rancher in Scholle,
New Mexico. He had lived in the Tatum and Truth or Consequences areas most of his life.
Survivors include: a son John Rainwater of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, a daughter, Sunday Cote of Scottsdale, Arizona, a brother Carl Rainwater of Lamar, Colorado and 2 grandchildren.
Elsie Marie Starrett
Graveside services for Elsie Marie Starrett, 93, of Crosbyton will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2002 at Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Lester Griffin officiating. Burial is under direction of Adams Funeral Home - Crosbyton.
She died August 6, 2002 at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. She was born January 22, 1909 in Johnson City, Illinois. She married Carl L. Starrett in 1955 in Silver City, New Mexico. He died on July 21, 1970.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion, Illinois. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Tyrone, New Mexico and the St. Mary's Hospital Auxilliary in Lubbock. She moved to Crosbyton in 1990 from Silver City, New Mexico and was a homemaker. She was born to an Illionis pioneer family. Her father was a type setter for the Marion Democrat and during her teen years she worked as a reporter for the newspaper until she graduated from Carbondale Business School and became a member of the Business and Professionals Ladies Club. She joined the Dottie Exclusive Dress shop as a manager and purchaser for their company until 1954 when she visited a friend in Silver City, New Mexico where she attended an all Ranchers Christmas rodeo, horse racing, dance and other festivities that lasted three days. Elsie met Carl Starrett, a deputy sheriff of Grant County, NM. They were married very soon.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lena Givens - Crosbyton
Several nieces and nephews.
Lynn Cope
Services for Lynn Curtis Cope, 88, of Ralls will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Bartley officiating.

He died Monday, August 19, 2002 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born December 23, 2002 at Sherman, Texas. He married Thelda Kelly on October 5, 1935 in Lubbock, Texas. She died March 17, 1989.
He was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church. He moved to Ralls in 1956 from Clovis, New Mexico and went to work for Abell Chevrolet as a service manager. He retired from that position in 1983.
He was a US Army Air Force veteran of WWII where he was a Staff Sargeant in the 79th Air Squadron.
Survivors include: a son, Gary Cope of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, a daughter, Linda Gay Millizzo also of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, a sister, Bernice Gosney of LaPuente, California 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was born April 3, 1942 in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico. She married Juan Garza on February 28, 1963 in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico.
She was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton and was a homemaker. She moved to Crosbyton in December 1973 from Ft. Worth.
Survivors include: her husband, Juan Garza of Crosbyton, a son Juan Garza, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, four daughters; Rosaura Berry of Rye, New York, Mariela Rendon of Lubbock, Gabriela "Gabby" Alvarez of Lubbock , Cira Martinez of Ft. Worth, a sister, Rosi Calderilla of Ft. Worth, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She died Thursday, August 29, 2002 at her home in Ralls. She was born March 19, 1905 in Floresville, Texas. She married Natividad Munoz on September 23, 1943 in Floresville, Texas. He died January 6, 2002.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls. She was a homemaker and moved to Ralls in 1951 from Tahoka.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Andrea Trevino who died on January 14, 2002.
Survivors include: 4 sons; Louis Munoz of Ralls, Rafael of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Juan of Abernathy, Santos of Marana, AZ, 2 daughters; Julia Martinez fo Ralls, Petra Silva of Floresville, a brother; Vicente Perales of Grand Rapids, Michigan, a sister Elena Gonzales of Telferner, Texas 40 grandchildren, 110 great grandchildren, 83 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Fuentes, Jerry Flores, Ross Trevino, Fred Silva, Jimmy Munoz, Jaime Martinez,Honorary Pallbearer will be Albert Soto.
The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday.
