Nelda Nevill Zubik
Feb. 16, 1946 — March 6, 2000

Services for Nelda Nevill Zubik, 54, of Smetana Community are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Rev. John McCaffrey will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel.

A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Zubik died in Bryan.

She was born in Bryan, was a homemaker, had worked for Dr. Clyde Caperton and for Dr. Council Milles. She also owned and operated Nails by Nelda at Hair Extraordinaire for five years, and she and her husband James owned and operated the Country Skillet in Bryan. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, James Zubik of Smetana Community; a son, John Zubik of Hohenfels, Germany; a daughter, Dena Zubik of Bryan; her mother, Essie Taylor Nevill of Bryan; a grandson; and a sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Thomas Chance of Bellville, Texas.
Memorials may be given to The American Cancer Society, Hospice Brazos Valley, or to the St. Joseph School trust fund.

Lavel Lacina
April 24, 1941 — March 6, 2000

CALDWELL — Services for Lavel Lacina, 58, of Caldwell are set for 3 p.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat.

The Rev. Dimitrij Colankin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips &

Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Ms. Lacina died Monday at the College Station Medical Center.

She was born in Burleson County, was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jonny and Julie Charanza of Caldwell; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Bennie Jones of Deanville; a brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Carolyn Lacina of Caldwell; two sisters, Margaret Zgabay and Lois Jones, both of Caldwell; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary E. “Sue” Wright
Oct. 21, 1911 — March 7, 2000

Graveside services for Mary E. “Sue” Wright, 88, of College Station are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Mars Hill Cemetery in Summitt, Miss.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial

Funeral Chapel and from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hartman Funeral Home in McComb, Miss.

Ms. Wright died Tuesday at Southwood Nursing Home.

She was born in Pike County, Miss. and was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Kay Wright and Richard and Teresa Wright, all of Bryan and Phillip and Laura-Nell Wright of McComb, Miss.; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Wright of Bryan and Linda and Tommy Thompson of Summitt, Miss.; and five grandchildren.

Christobal A. Arcibar
July 4, 1957 — March 6, 2000

CENTERVILLE —Services for Christobal A. Arcibar, 42, of Centerville will be later this week in Dolores Hidalgo, G.T.O., Mexico.

Burial will be in Panteon Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

Mr. Arcibar died Monday in a Fairfield Hospital.

He was born in San Diego Dela Union, G.T.O., Mexico, was working in oil field construction and was Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Del Socorro of Mexico; his father, Antonio Arcibar of Mexico; seven daughters, Veronica Arcibar Torres, Maricela Arcibar and Angelica Arcibar, all of Grand Prairie, Texas, Fabiola Arcibar, Janet Arcibar and Araceli Arcibar, all of Centerville, and Sairafani Arcibar of Mexico; five brothers, Francisco Arcibar and Nicolas Arcibar, both of Centerville, Antonio Arcibar and Gerardo Arcibar, both of Crockett, Texas, and Ismael Arcibar of Glen Rose, Texas; and a grandson.

Nelva Joy Underwood
July 4, 1949 — March 8, 2000

BEDIAS — Graveside services for Nelva Joy Underwood, 50, of Madisonville are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Bedias Methodist Cemetery.

The Rev. Bill Surface will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Southern Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Underwood died Wednesday in Madisonville Nursing Home.

She was born in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Underwood of Bedias; two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Russell Byrd and Jean Gressett, all of Huntsville, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Jessie Ray and Kathy Jackson of Nacogdoches; a sister, Stella Miller of Dickenson, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Robert Lee Lochmiller II
Oct. 4, 1954 — March 3, 2000

STILLWATER, Okla. — Services for Robert Lee Lochmiller II, 45, of Stillwater, Okla. will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater.

Mr. Lochmiller died Friday.

He was born in Washington, D.C., served in the U.S. Army, was an assistant professor in the Zoology Department at Oklahoma State University, was promoted to associate professor in 1989, and full professor in 1994. He was named Regents Professor in 1998. He was the first faculty member at Oklahoma State University to receive the National Science Foundation Young Investor Award for contributions to the wildlife profession by the Oklahoma Chapter of The Wildlife Society, and he was serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Wildlife Management.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Lochmiller; a son, Evan Griffith Lochmiller; a sister, Jody Lochmiller; and a brother, Carl Lochmiller.

Memorials may be given to the OSU Foundation for the Robert Lochmiller Scholarship, PO Box 1749, Stillwater, OK 74076.

Ethel Juanita Olney
April 1, 1911 — March 8, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Ethel Juanita Olney, 88, of North Zulch are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Madisonville Funeral Home.

The Rev. Johnnie L. Crocker will officiate. Burial will be in the Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Olney died Wednesday in Lake Jackson, Texas.
She was born in Lake Jackson, was a homemaker and was Baptist.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Vernon and Sandra Olney of Baytown, Texas, and Richard “Dickie” Olney of North Zulch; three daughters and sons-in-law, Eunice and Andrew Gigout of Highlands, Texas, Patricia and Joe Castillo of North Zulch, and Eileen and Thomas Repp of Lake Jackson; a sister, Ruby Smith of Portland, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth Ann Flanigan
Feb. 17, 1941 — March 8, 2000

Graveside services for Ruth Ann Flanigan, 59, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Restever Memorial Park.

The Rev. Henry Stovall of Trinity Baptist Church will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.

Mrs. Flanigan died Wednesday at her home.

She was born in Rising Star, Texas and attended San Antonio College.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene W. Flanigan.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Patt Rogers and Edward and Tina Flanigan, all of Bryan; three daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Flanigan and Ione Flanigan, both of Bryan, and Jacqulyn and Cyril Ezomo of College Station; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Gary Owens of Lebanon, TN; and nine grandchildren.

Charles Edward Williams II
March 11, 1978 — March 3, 2000

GALVESTON — Services for Charles Edward Williams II, 21, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Wesley Tabernacle United Methodist Church.

Entombment will be in Lakeview Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home.

A wake will be recited from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jessie Moore
Died March 6, 2000

HEARNE — Services for Jessie Moore, 86, of Hearne are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Progressive Baptist Church in Hearne.

Burial will be in the Hammond Colony in Hearne.

Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Moore died Monday.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Bell Moore of Hearne; a daughter, Lois E. Conner of Dallas; three sons, Oscar Edwards, Pete Wayne Moore and Marvin Hickman, all of Hearne; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lubirda Price, Jernice Hammond, and Maecell Moore.

Alma L. Homeyer Franks
Jan. 14, 1915 — March 9, 2000

NAVASOTA — Services for Alma L. Homeyer Franks, 85, of Navasota are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

The Rev. Donald Kasper of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Anderson.

Mrs. Franks died Thursday in Canterbury Villa in Navasota.

She was born in White Hall, Texas, and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Fred W. and Ruth Homeyer of Navasota; a sister and brother-in-law, Lena and Roger Moncel of Houston; a sister-in-law, June Homeyer of Navasota; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
