James Garfield ‘Jimmy’ Lyles

Oct. 14, 1932 — March 9, 2000

FRANKLIN — Services for James Garfield “Jimmy” Lyles, 67, of Waco are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Franklin.

Dr. Jack Kyle Daniels, president of the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco, will officiate. Burial will be in Little Mississippi Cemetery near Franklin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Blair-Stubbs-McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.

Mr. Lyles died Thursday in Waco.

He was born in Franklin and had lived in Waco for 27 years. He was a graduate of Franklin High School and Baylor University and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He was retired as Minister for the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco after 24 years. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Mitchell Lyles of Waco; a sister, Mary Virginia Mathews of La Grange, Texas; his mother-in-law, Mrs. J.M. Mitchell of Franklin; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Barbara Mitchell of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baylor University Athletic Scholarship Fund, Methodist Children’s Home or the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

Robert E. Wright
Jan. 23, 1928 — March 6, 2000

DALLAS — Services for Robert E. Wright, 72, of Dallas were held Thursday at Restland Wildwood Chapel in Dallas.
Ralph Smith, U.S. Army Chaplain, retired, officiated. Burial was in Restland Memorial Park.

Mr. Wright died Monday.

He was born in Bryan and was a 1948 graduate of Texas A&M University. He retired as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1973 after 25 years and worked as a professional engineer for the Fire Prevention Engineering Bureau of Texas and served as an instructor in Fireman’s Training in College Station. He was a member of White Rock Masonic Lodge No. 234, where he was a past Worshipful Master, member of York Rite and was a 32nd degree mason.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Reese Wright.
Survivors include his mother, Lucy Mae Wright; three sons, Robert E. Wright, Mark S. Wright and Hugh Michael Wright; a daughter, Kathy Irene Wallace; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

John Czajkowski
April 1, 1921 — March 10, 2000

BREMOND — Services for John Czajkowski, 78, of Bremond are set for 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond.

The Rev. Josef Musiol of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to the time of the services Monday at Bremond Funeral Home in Bremond.

Mr. Czajkowski died Friday at his home.

He was born in Harrah, Okla., and had been a lifetime resident of Bremond. He was a rancher and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Leocadia Czajkowski of Bremond; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kathy Czajkowski and Patrick Czajkowski, all of Bremond; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Rob Wallingford of Franklin and Susan and Tom Dupriest of Mico, Texas; three brothers, Kie Czajkowski of Bremond, Bruno Czajkowski of Fort Worth and Joe Czajkowski of Karnack, Texas; two sisters, Helen Arnell of San Antonio and Frances Trojacek of Bremond; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Mary’s Altar Society of Bremond, Texas 76629.

David Mitchell Depew
Feb. 5, 1966 — March 8, 2000

FRISCO, Texas — Graveside services for David Mitchell Depew, 34, of Los Angeles, Calif., are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Altoga Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.

The Rev. Stanley Runnels will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cantrell Funeral Home in Frisco.

Mr. Depew died Wednesday in Los Angeles.

He was born in Huntsville, Ala., and had lived in California since 1988. For seven years he was employed as an administrator for Western Pacific Kraft Incorp. As part of his work with his firm, he directed the annual Dreamstreet Summer Camp for terminally ill children.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, David and Sue Depew of College Station; his mother, Mary Gene Depew of Montgomery, Ala.; a sister, Anna Woloshko of San Raphael, Calif.; a brother, James Depew of Plainfield, N.J.; two step-brothers, Brathan Voraritskul of Ringgold, Ga., and Micah Voraritskul of Richmond, Va.; grandmother, Mary Williamson of Montgomery, Ala.; and step-grandmother, Geraldine Ramsey of Blue Ridge, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Happy Home c/o Calvary Chapel Visalia, 11720 Avenue 264, Visalia, Calif. 93277.

Frank Lynn Jackson
June 30, 1957 — March 10, 2000

CALDWELL — Services for Frank Lynn Jackson, 42, of Caldwell are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

The Rev. Gary McManus will officiate. Burial will be in Hranice Cemetery near Dime Box.

Mr. Jackson died Friday at his home.

He was born in Taylor, Texas, and had been employed for several years as a vacuum truck driver for Dawson Production

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Blaha Jackson of Caldwell; two sons, Derek Jackson of Bryan and Marcus Jackson of Caldwell; a brother, Dwayne Jackson of Lexington, Texas; three sisters, Kathryn Grisham of Thordale, Texas, Gail Spates and Reneé Mitchell , both of Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Laura Wellbrock Neumann
Jan. 18, 1920 — March 11, 2000

BRENHAM — Services for Laura Wellbrock Neumann, 80, of Brenham are set for 2 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill, Texas.

The Rev. Sue Beall will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Mrs. Neumann died Saturday in Trinity Medical Center Hospital in Brenham.

She was born in Washington County, Texas, and was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill.

Survivors include her husband, Guss Neumann of Brenham; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fritz and Esther Neumann of Brenham; and a sister, Lenora Schulz of Brenham.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill.

Edward Pete Pohorelsky Sr.
Aug. 1, 1916 — March 10, 2000

Graveside services for Edward Pete Pohorelsky Sr., 83, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bryan City Cemetery.
The Rev. Henry Stovall of Trinity Baptist Church will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mr. Pohorelsky died Friday at the Brighton Inn in Bryan.
He was born in Dime Box and had lived in Bryan since 1951. He was retired as owner and operator of Ed’s Radio & T.V. Repair in Bryan and was also a taxidermist. He served 20 years in the Police Reserve for the City of Bryan and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Willie May Pohorelsky of Bryan; a son, Edward P. “Sonny” Pohorelsky Jr. of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Kitt Pohorelsky Mayo and Jose Aguilar of Bryan; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church.

Laverne Tucker
Dec. 7, 1929 — March 10, 2000

ROCKDALE — Services for Laverne Tucker, 70, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

The Rev. Calvin Springer of Rockdale Full Gospel Church will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tucker died Friday in Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

She was born in Salmon, Texas, and had lived in Rockdale for 48 years. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Rockdale Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include her husband, Wallace Tucker of Rockdale; a son, Stephen W. Tucker II of Austin; a brother, Sidney Walston of Palestine, Texas; a sister, Evaun Ramsey of Palestine; and three grandchildren.

Virginia Elizabeth Fraley
July 24, 1918 - March 11, 2000

BIG STONE GAP, Va. - Services for Virginia Elizabeth Fraley, 81, of Kingsport, Tenn., are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Holding Funeral Home Chapel in Big Stone Gap, Va.
The Revs. Otto Giles and Jim Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Glencoe Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fraley died Saturday in Wellmont-Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.

She was born in Powell Valley, Va., and had left the area for 61 years before returning to Kingsport.

Survivors include her husband, James Maurice Fraley of Kingsport; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Becky Fraley of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and John Hamilton of Big Stone Gap; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Grace and Harold Rivers of Big Stone Gap and Edna Stone of
Kingsport, Tenn.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Legion Memorial Methodist Church, P.O. Box 186, East Stone Gap, Va. 24246.

John C. Glover Sr.
July 5, 1930 - March 11, 2000

Services for John C. Glover, 69, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Bryan.
The Revs. Doug Jones and Tim Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Restever Memorial Park Mausoleum with full military honors.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Glover died Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Bullard, Texas, and had lived in Bryan for most of his life. He was a retired senior master sergeant for the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War. After his retirement from the service, he worked in the maintenance department for the Department of Student Affairs at Texas A&M University.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobby L. Glover.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Dockery Glover of Bryan; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John D. Jr. and Kathy Glover and Fred C. Garton, all of Bryan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and James Dobbs and Diana and Michael Lilly, all of Bryan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Shirley Glover of Hooper, Utah, and Jodie R. and Rena Glover of Killeen, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Margie Hancock Keese
June 4, 1917 - March 11, 2000

SOMERVILLE - Graveside services for Margie Hancock Keese, 82, of Dallas are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville.

The Rev. Steve Johnson will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.

Mrs. Keese died Saturday in Irving, Texas.

She was born in Austin, Ark., and lived most of her married life in the Dallas area. She was a longtime member of the Woodhaven Presbyterian Church in Irving.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Keese.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Anne Meredith of Albuquerque, N.M., Kay Tedford of Tulsa, Okla., Joan Abramson of Houston and Priscilla Jaenicke of Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, Estelle Keown of Dallas and Kate Norris of Houston; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Village South Caring Fund, Dallas, Texas.

O.B. Lewis
Sept. 13, 1911 - March 11, 2000

SOMERVILLE - Services for O.B. Lewis, 88, of Somerville are set for 4 p.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.

The Revs. Mark Pedersen and Jimmy Vandorn will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery with Lee Scott Masonic Lodge No. 793 of Somerville officiating.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Lewis died Saturday in a Bryan hospital.

He was born in Merle community, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of Burleson County. He worked as a switchman for the Santa Fe Railroad in Somerville until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Somerville, Woodmen of the World, the Somerville Historical Society, Lee Scott Masonic Lodge No. 793 and the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Templeton Lewis of Somerville; a son and daughter-in-law, Forrest "Buddy" and Julia Lewis of Somerville; a sister-in-law, Margarite Lewis of Somerville; two grandchildren; and three
nieces.

Memorials may be made to the Lee Scott Masonic Lodge Building Fund.
