Josephus Roosevelt ‘Cephas’ Daniel
March 5, 1927 — March 18, 2000

Services for Josephus Roosevelt “Cephas” Daniel, 73, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Maurice Green Jr. of Lily of the Valley Church of God in Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Daniel & Son Funeral Home and from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Daniel died Saturday at his residence.

He was born in Bryan, was retired, served in the U.S. Army, where he received a World War II Victory Medal, and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include six sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert Charles and Cloete Daniel of Bakersfield, Calif., Josephus Rodgers Daniel of Houston, Ronnie Joe Daniel, Lonnie Joe Daniel, and Josephus Klosky and Eustachia Daniel, all of Bryan, and Edward Maurice Green of Portsmouth, Va.; six daughters and three sons-in-law, Deavia Rochelle and Stanley G. McMurray, Angela Y. and Leonard Green, and Lori V. Daniel, all of Bryan, Lanita Ruth and Huston John Perkins of Arlington, Texas, Lenora C. McMillian of Manassas, Va., and Joanetta Carter of Japan; 42 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorials may be given to Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Michael Doyle Kuecker
Feb. 12, 1950 — March 22, 2000

BRENHAM — Services for Michael Doyle Kuecker, 50, of Sour Lake are set for 2 p.m. Saturday in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem.

Burial will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery at Sandy Hill.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Mr. Kuecker died Wednesday in Sour Lake.

He was born in Brenham, was a graduate of Lamar University and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaumont and was employed as a territory manager for Blue Bell Creameries, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Kuecker of Sour Lake; a son, Kade Kuecker of Sour Lake; a daughter, Karah Kuecker of Sour Lake; his parents, Ervin and LaVerna Kuecker of Brenham; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Donald Kuecker, Mark and Becky Kuecker, and Ron and Karla Kuecker, all of Brenham; mother-in-law, Bernita Meyer of Brenham; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruby and Roger Morrow; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorials may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church building fund, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Doris Simons Lupton
Sept. 11, 1917 — March 22, 2000

Graveside services for Doris Simons Lupton, 82, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Cemetery in Robinson, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lupton died Wednesday in Renaissance Villa Nursing Home in Rockdale, Texas.

She was born in Robinson, was a homemaker, did volunteer work for Hospice Brazos Valley and Humana Hospital, now called College Station Medical Center, and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lupton.

Survivors include a brother, Billy Joe Simons of Flatonia, Texas; two sisters, Alberta Spore of Houston and Frieda Schwenker of Atlanta, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, Development Department, 919 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1100, Chicago, Ill. 60611-1676.

Lina A. Whitlock
Sept. 20, 1915 — March 22, 2000

CENTERVILLE —Graveside services for Lina A. Whitlock, 84, of Buffalo, Texas, are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Lummus Cemetery near Buffalo.

Bro. LRoy Cooper of Buffalo will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

Mrs. Whitlock died Wednesday in a Palestine, Texas, hospital.

She was born in Alabama, was a longtime resident of Waco and was a very active member of St. John’s Methodist Church.

She is survived by a sister, Grace Lummus of Marshall, Texas; a sister-in-law, Bell Berryhill of Nacogdoches, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Vernon “Stoney” Williams
July 30, 1937 — March 22, 2000

NAVASOTA —Services for Vernon “Stoney” Williams, 62, of Navasota are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

The Rev. Robert F. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Navasota.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Williams died Wednesday at Grimes St. Joseph Health Center.

He was born in Dallas, was an insurance agent at Williams Insurance Co., was a member of V.F.W. Post 4006 in Navasota, the City Council from 1990-1994, the Navasota Little League, and was the owner of Downtown Antique Mall in Navasota. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962 and was a Lutheran.

Survivors include his wife, Billy G. Williams of Navasota; a son, Matthew Williams of Houston; a brother and sister-in-law, J.W. and Betty Williams of Brenham; a sister, Lois Salter of Luling, Texas; an aunt, Maudie M. Jeske of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorials may be given to the Navasota Little League, P.O. Box 808, Navasota, Texas 77868, to Navasota Young Life, P.O. Box 9, Navasota, Texas 77868, or to Kick Drugs out of America Foundation, 427 W. 20th St.#403, Houston, Texas 77008.

Freddie Raye Lockett Jr.
Dec. 8, 1978 — March 20, 2000

Services for Freddie Raye Lockett Jr., 21, of Bryan are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Galilee Baptist Church.

The Rev. Fred Hickman of Rollins Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to the time of service Saturday at Daniel & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Lockett died Monday in College Station Medical Center.

He was born in Bryan, was a bricklayer helper and a member of Rollins Church of Christ.

Survivors include his daughter, Nautica Piage Lockett of Bryan; a brother, Desmond R. Lockett of Bryan; his parents, Freddie Raye Lockett Sr. and Chiquita Ramona Simpson, both of Bryan; and his grandparents, Alveda P. Simpson and Dorothy Neal, both of Bryan.

Memorials may be given to Rollins Church of Christ.

Jane Marcia Bremer
April 9, 1951 — March 23, 2000

LUBBOCK — Services for Jane Marcia Bremer, 48, of Lubbock are set for 10 a.m. Monday at White Memorial Chapel of White Funeral Home in Lubbock.
The Rev. David Sellnow of Shepherd of the Plains Lutheran Church will officiate.
Additional services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in College Station.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Bryan.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Bremer died Thursday in Covenant Medical Center.
She was born in Bryan and had lived in Lubbock since 1987. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and Texas A&M University. She was a homemaker and was a member of Shepherd of the Plains Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald H. Bremer of Lubbock; her mother, Pauline Dobrovolny of Bryan; two sons, Benjamin Bremer and Bradley Bremer, both of Lubbock; a daughter, Betsy Bremer of Lubbock; a brother, Scott Dobrovolny of Bryan; and two sisters, Paula Looney of San Antonio and Sarah Dobrovolny of Bryan.

Agnes Fay Davlin
Dec. 21, 1917 — March 25, 2000

FRANKLIN — Services for Agnes Fay Davlin, 82, of Hearne are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the McCauley Funeral Chapel of Blair-Stubbs-McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
Bobby Sullivan will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Franklin.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davlin died Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
She was born in Franklin and had lived in Hearne since 1992. She formerly lived in Victoria, Texas, and was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hearne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lee “Bill” Davlin.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Patricia Davlin of Clayton, N.M.; a sister, Reba Maureen Bussa of Artesia, N.M.; four nieces; and three nephews.

Carlo ‘Moe’ Emola
April 9, 1923 — March 23, 2000

Services for Carlo “Moe” Emola, 76, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bryan.
The Rev. Steve Kana of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Emola died Thursday in Sherwood Health Care.
He was born in Brazos County and was a lifelong resident of Bryan. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He owned and operated Emola’s Service Station in Bryan and played fast pitch softball for 34 years.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Emola of Bryan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Deryl and Loretta Emola and Gary and Caron Emola, all of Bryan; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Sam Emola Jr. of Kaufman, Texas, and Paul and Janie Emola of Bryan; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Lanza and Janie Cangelose, both of Houston, Lena and Sam Weido of Bryan and Nancy and Bob DeRoncey of Irving, Texas; and five grandchildren.

David Adderson Henslee
Feb. 23, 1941 — March 23, 2000

BEDIAS — Graveside services for David Adderson Henslee, 59, of Madisonville are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Methodist Cemetery in Bedias.
The Rev. Ernest C. Phifer of Madisonville will officiate.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Bedias.
Mr. Henslee died Thursday.
He was born in Oxford, Miss., and formerly lived in Bedias.
Survivors include five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lois and Joseph Caine of Bedias, Mary Beckler of Huntsville, Texas, Sue and Don Williams of Goose Creek, S.C., Virginia and Dewey Burchfield and Ann Edwards, all of Memphis, Tenn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul Edward Marion
July 5, 1967 — March 20, 2000

SPUR, Texas — Services for Paul Edward Marion, 32, of Hinesville, Ga., are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Spur.
Chaplain Jeff Massler of Amarillo and the Rev. Larry Burton will officiate. Burial will be in the Spur Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home in Spur.
A memorial service will be held at Fort Stewart, Ga. on Thursday.
Captain Marion died Monday at his home.
He was born in Munich, Germany, and attended Texas A&M University and was a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. He was commissioned out of R.O.T.C. as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and had been on active duty with the Army since 1993.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, David P. and Gail Marion of College Station; his mother, Linda R. Bell of San Marcos, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Raye Leigh and Jonathan Stone of College Station; grandmother, Mary Marion of Spur; two step-sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Tom Rees of Sweetwater, Texas, Kathy and Phillip Fisher of College Station; a step-brother and sister-in-law, David and Malia Albin of Plano, Texas; an aunt and uncle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Texas A&M University Foundation for the Eternal Aggie Band, Texas Tech Art Department, a Wesley Foundation of your choice, or The National Endowment for the Arts.
