Sept. 7, 1934 — April 3, 2000

FRANKLIN — Services for Erika Richards McMillan, 65, of Franklin are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Blair-Stubbs-McCauley Funeral Chapel in Franklin.

Eddy Mayo of Elliot Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ms. McMillan died Monday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

She was born in Ratibor, Germany, and had lived in Franklin for 20 years. She previously lived in Houston. She was an accountant and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin.

Survivors include a sister, Maria Penzilek of Wiesbaden, Germany; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

George Bonham Vogt
March 3, 1945 — April 3, 2000

MADISONVILLE —Services for George Bonham Vogt, 55, of Madisonville and Pasadena, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Madisonville Funeral Home.

The Revs. Jeff Witcher and Eric Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in the Greer Cemetery.

Mr. Vogt died Monday in Pasadena.

He was born in Ft. Worth, worked in shipping with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1155 A.F.&A.M. in Pasadena.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Vogt of Madisonville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Daryl Vogt of Midway, Texas, and David and Marla Vogt of Madisonville; and four grandchildren.

Shane Preston Rice
May 13, 1974 — April 2, 2000

WINTERS, Texas — Services for Shane Preston Rice, 25, of Brenham, Texas, are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Winters First United Methodist Church in Winters.

The Rev. Don Roth will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in the Clyde Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Winters Funeral Home.

Mr. Rice died Sunday in Brenham.

He was born in Midland, graduated from Winters High School and attended Blinn Jr. College in College Station. He was working for D@D Farm and Ranch in Trailer Sales in Hockley, Texas. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Albany, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Tracy Lynn Rice of Brenham; his mother, Sharon Rice of Winters; his father and step-mother, Gil and Vicki Rice of Abilene; grandmother, Mrs. Harry “Fronie” Steen of Clyde, Texas; his mother-in-law, Martha Williams of College Station; and his grandmother-in-law, Mrs. Glynn Williams of College Station.

Memorials may be given to the Big Country Quarter Horse Assn. Youth Scholarship Fund, the Texas Junior Quarter Horse Assn. Scholarship fund in Austin, the First United Methodist Church, or to the charity of your choice.

Charles J. ‘Jack’ Keese
Dec. 29, 1919 — April 3, 2000

Services for Charles J. “Jack” Keese, 80, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

The Revs. Morris House, Carroll Fancher, Harral Dunnam, and Bob Richers will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Keese died Monday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Somerville, was retired as the director of Texas Transportation Institute at Texas A&M University, and was a professor of civil engineering at Texas A&M University. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Texas A&M University. He was a member of the Sul Ross Masonic Lodge No. 1300 in College Station and was a 32nd Degree member of the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Brazos Valley Shrine Club and the Arabia Temple in Houston. He was a captain in the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He also was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Keese of Bryan; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe Keese of San Antonio and John and Anneliese Keese of Cedar Hill, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Jim Amyx of Richardson, Texas; three sisters, Thelma Standifer of Ft. Worth, Nezell Korgess of Kingsville, Texas, and Nila Earle of San Antonio; six grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church building fund.

Emil Rychlik
Sept. 28, 1907 — April 3, 2000

CALDWELL —Services for Emil Rychlik, 92, of Caldwell are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell.

The Revs. Dimitrij Colankin and Emilian Foltyn will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Mr. Rychlik died Monday at Burleson St. Joseph Manor in Caldwell.

He was born in Austin County, was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of the KJT.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rosie Schumacher Rychlik.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bernard and Betty Rychlik and Joe and Donna Rychlik, all of Caldwell; a sister-in-law, Milady Rychlik of Caldwell; and three grandchildren.

Amy Leigh Wreyford
June 27, 1975 —April 2, 2000

SAN ANTONIO —Services for Amy Leigh Wreyford, 24, are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio.

Burial will be at Sunset.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wreyford died Sunday.

Survivors include her husband, Chad W. Wreyford; her father, C.L. Turcotte; mother, Carolyn Turcotte; grandmother, Fay Emerson; and step mother, Kay Turcotte of Bryan.

Leroy Jones

May 9, 1940 — March 31, 2000

Services for Leroy Jones, 59, of Tunis, Texas, are set for 1 p.m. Thursday at Old Bethlehem Baptist Church in Tunis, Texas.

The Rev. Anthony Ross of Old Bethlehem Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

Mr. Jones died Friday at St. Joseph Regional Health Care.

He was born in Burleson, Texas, and was a retired janitor.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula Williams of Bryan and Rochelle Young of College Station; two brothers, Melvin Jones of Bryan and Andrew Jones of Tunis; four sisters, Ruth T. Hines of Bryan, Huella Waller of Tunis, Azzie Beard of Dallas, and Naomi Hargraves of Mt. Vernon, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

Oliver May Hinckley
Jan. 21, 1920 — April 3, 2000

MADISONVILLE —Services for Oliver May Hinckley, 80, of Madisonville are set for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Madisonville Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hinckley died Monday in Houston.

He was born in Hyannis, Mass., was retired from the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II and the Korean War, and he was the owner of Oliver Twist Maintenance Company in Madisonville. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, of the American Legion, and of the Fleet Reserve Association.

Survivors include two sons, Eben Hinckley of Florida and Eric Hinckley of Virginia Beach, Va; a brother, Eben Hinckley of Hyannis, Mass.; two sisters, Marjorie Walsh and Elizabeth Finn, both of Florida; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Madison St. Joseph Health Center, 100 W. Cross, Madisonville, Texas 77864.

Frank Hyde
Oct. 4, 1923 — April 4, 2000

Services for Frank Hyde, 76, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church.

The Revs. Tim Skaggs and Royce Pennington will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel and from 1 p.m. to the time of the services Friday at the church.

Mr. Hyde died Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Care Center.

He was born in Leesville, La., was a member of Central Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II, and was involved in the construction of airfields and bases to support the war. He obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and was a teacher and a principal. He was a former member of the Lions Club, where he served in several offices, including as president.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Hyde of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Lydia Hyde of Bryan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Chris Farris of Bryan and Janie and Lee Roberts of Marathon, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and a great grandson.

Memorials may be given to the piano fund at Central Baptist Church.

Grable N. Garcia
Oct. 2, 1950 — April 2, 2000

NAVASOTA —Services for Grable N. Garcia, 49, of Navasota are set for 3 p.m. Thursday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Garcia died Sunday in Grimes St. Joseph Health Center in Navasota.

He was born in Donna, Texas, was a press operator for Longwood Inc. and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include his daughter, Sara Garcia of Waller, Texas; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Rod and Luisa Garcia of El Paso, Noe and Tina Garcia of Houston, Joshua Garcia ,Sylvester and Yolanda Garcia, and Archie and Christy Garcia, all of Navasota, and Ruben and Connie Garcia of Porter, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and David Luna of Huntsville, Texas, and Alma and Larry Whittaker of Highland, Calif.; and numerous other relatives.
