Elza Franklin Kutch
Dec. 7, 1919 — April 11, 2000

CALDWELL —Services for Elza Franklin Kutch, 80, of Caldwell are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kutch died Tuesday in a VA Hospital in Temple.

He was born in Perryton, Texas, was a retired rancher and he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Ochiltree Masonic Lodge No. 910, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and was retired from Equity Farmer’s Co-op in Perryton.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel B. Kutch of Caldwell; two sons, Elza Leroy Kutch of Caldwell and Karl Franklin Kutch of Mesquite, Texas; a brother, Kenneth Kutch of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Rachel Carter of Waka; and four grandchildren.

Jacqueline Lee Reichard
Feb. 6, 1931 — April 9, 2000

NORMANGEE —Memorial services for Jacqueline Lee Reichard, 69, of Hilltop Lakes are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Hilltop Lakes Chapel.

Bro. Bob Kristensen will officiate.

Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee is in charge of all the arrangements.

Mrs. Reichard died Sunday at her home.

She was a housewife.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Walter and Tracey Reichard of Virginia and Robert Kaulkman of California; her mother, Mary Kemp of Hilltop Lakes; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Charlott Valena Roath
Feb. 13, 1910 — April 10, 2000

Memorial services for Charlott Valena Roath, 90, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Crestview Chapel.

The Rev. Harral Dunnam of First United Methodist Church in Bryan will officiate. Private burial will be in Restever Memorial Park.

Callaway-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.

Mrs. Roath died Monday at Crestview Retirement Community.

She was born in Woodbine, Kan., and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley W. Roath.

Survivors include a daughter, Loyce Kahil of College Station; two brothers, Ralph Rohrer of Newark, Ohio, and Hubert Rohrer of North Vernon, Ind.; two sisters, Phyllis Wolfe of Fort Collins, Colo. and Harriet Graham of Fort Morgan, Colo.; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Minnie E. Loesch Strangmeyer
Nov. 13, 1911 — April 11, 2000

BRENHAM, Texas —Services for Minnie E. Loesch Strangmeyer, 88, of Brenham are set for 10 a.m. Friday in St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.

The Rev. Sue Beall will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Mrs. Strangmeyer died Tuesday in Brenham Rest Home.

She was born in the New Wehdem community of Austin County, Texas, was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Strangmeyer.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Evelyn Strangmeyer of Brenham; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.

Joy B. Wolfe
Oct. 1, 1916 — April 12, 2000

Graveside services for Joy B. Wolfe, 83, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Restever Memorial Park in Bryan.

The Rev. Bobbie Davis of Rodeo Cowboys of Jesus Ministry will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

A rosary will be recited from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Wolfe died Tuesday in Bryton Inn Health Center.

He was born in Lincoln, Neb., was a self-employed Master Plumber before his retirement, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie H. Wolfe.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Anne Wolfe of Hearne and Gary and Laura Wolfe of Bryan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Annette Cocking of Bryan and Joyce and Randy Manley of Joplin, Mo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Ella Wolfe of Peoria, Ariz.; three sisters, Beulah Sampson of Pahrume, Nev., Eldora Ladd of Ft. Luton, Colo. and Florence Fitch of Lakewood, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Oliedia Mackel Kiel
June 24, 1910 — April 12, 2000

BURTON, Texas —Services for Oliedia Mackel Kiel, 89, of Carmine, Texas, are set for 2 p.m. Friday in Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine.

The Rev. Paul Bohot will officiate. Burial will be in La Bahia Cemetery near Burton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.

Mrs. Kiel died Wednesday in Care Inn of La Grange, Texas.

She was born in Winedale, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold P. Kiel.

She is survived by two nieces.

Memorials may be given to Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine.

C.E. ‘Slick’ Neeley
Sept. 14, 1914 — April 12, 2000

MADISONVILLE —Services for C.E. “Slick” Neeley, 85, of North Zulch are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Willow Hole Chapel.

The Rev. Ben Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Hole Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. at J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Mr. Neeley died Wednesday at Madisonville Nursing Home.

He was born in Cross, Texas, was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Zulch, was retired as a stationary engineer with the Houston School District, served one term as constable for Madison County, and was the lead engineer establishing the North Zulch water district in 1972.

Survivors include his wife, Sybil Shields Neeley of North Zulch; two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Ella Neeley of Huntsville, Texas, and Norman D. and Juana Neeley of Katy, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, W.T. and Gertrude Neeley of North Zulch and Oran and Audrey Neeley of Shallow Water, Texas; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mildred Smith, Lucille Richards, and Dean Weise, all of Bryan, Bonnie and Norman Fuesch of San Marcos, Texas, and Lois and William Eakes of Waller, Texas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Walter Ogilvy Wilson

Feb. 18, 1924 — April 11, 2000

NAVASOTA —Services for Walter Ogilvy Wilson, 76, of Navasota are set for 4 p.m. Friday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

The Rev. J.W.L. Adams of First Baptist Church in Navasota will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson died Tuesday in Navasota.

He was born in Navasota, was retired from the United States Air Force, served in the U.S. Marines during World War II, the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and Vietname War and received three purple hearts. He was a member of Navasota Masonic Lodge #299, the Navasota Order of the Eastern Star #309, V.F.W. Post #4006 in Navasota, and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Alta Allen Wilson of Navasota; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra Anne and Darryll Brandon of San Antonio; a brother and sister-in-law, Travis Lee and Mary Wilson of Lake Walden, Texas; four grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Cecil Henry Keller
May 23, 1929 — April 11, 2000

CENTERVILLE — Services for Cecil Henry Keller, 70, of Centerville are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the New Salem Cemetery Chapel in the Centerview Community east of Centerville.

The Rev. Billy Gunnels of New Salem Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Friday at the chapel.

Walters Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Keller died Tuesday in Crockett Nursing Home.

He was born near Oakwood, Texas, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he was a truck driver and a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ola Mae Keller of Centerville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Rae and Gayle Keller and Larry Cecil Keller, all of Centerville; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Jean and Lewis Hoyt of Centerville; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Pat Keller of Sargent, Texas; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
