Services for Abraham Ramirez, 76, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Victor Robles of Santa Teresa Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ramirez died Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Ben Arnold, Texas, and was retired after 35 years with Lone Star Gas Co. He was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucinda Sauseda Ramirez.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Vangie Ramirez, Antonio and Sylvia Ramirez and Mario and Fidela Ramirez, all of Bryan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Eva Ramirez of Fort Worth, and Manuel and Mary Ramirez of Bryan; two sisters, Antonio Ramirez of Fort Worth and Gregoria Medina of Bryan; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Santa Teresa Catholic Church.

Erin Lynn Ramsey
Jan. 6, 1994 — May 19, 2000

ROCKDALE — Services for Erin Lynn Ramsey, 6, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tanglewood Baptist Church in Tanglewood, Texas.

Bro. Joel Stevenson of Tanglewood Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Hugh Wilson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Erin died Friday in Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
She was born in Baytown, Texas.

Survivors include her parents, Katreina and Charles Cotton of Rockdale; two brothers, Charles Lyndon Michael Cotton and William Wyatt Cotton, both of Rockdale; grandparents, Tim and Peggy Ramsey of Lexington, Texas, Mary and Mickey Rundell of Brownwood, Texas, Charles and Ruth Cotton of Houston and Anita and David Swindle of Dayton, Texas; great-grandparents, Dorothy and Ray Ramsey of Lexington, Monette Shaunfield of Maypearl, Texas, and Robert and Bertie Cotton of Nacogdoches, Texas; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Mary Joyce Drew
June 15, 1934 — May 21, 2000

Services for Mary Joyce Drew, 65, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Callaway-Jones Chapel in Bryan.

The Rev. Ray Marshall of Reliance Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Restever Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Drew died Sunday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Mullin, Texas, and had lived in Bryan for 30 years. She was a member of Reliance Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Sunday school.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cleburne Matthew “Todd” Gilliam and Bobby Gene Drew.

Survivors include two sons, Toby Lynn Gilliam and Tony Ray Gilliam, both of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Larry Brown of Bryan; a sister, Jerlene Little of Brownwood, Texas; a brother-in-law, Merle Price of Brownwood; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Ethel Ivey
July 3, 1912 — May 21, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Ethel Ivey, 87, of Midway, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.

The Rev. Gary Bynum and Bro. Mack McCall will officiate. Burial will be in Midway City Cemetery in Midway.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ivey died Sunday in the East Texas Medical Center in Crockett, Texas.

She was born in Midway and owned and operated Ivey’s Cafe for more than 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ivey; one daughter, Alene Drake; one grandson, Wayne Coleman; three sisters, Willie DeBolt, Jessie Odom, Opal Robinson; and three brothers, Byron Starns, S.B. Starns and Ernest Starns.

Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Marie Selman of Karnack, Texas, Adna Hawthorne of Madisonville, Ernestine and Bert Coleman and Martha and Terry Bryan, all of Midway; three sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Lela Ivey of Ferris, Texas, Doyle and Connie Ivey of Midway and Dennis and Carrolyn cq Ivey of Crockett; two sisters, Julie Currie of Highlands, Texas, and Lorene Smith of Houston; two sons-in-law, Pat Wakefield of Midway and Bobby Drake of Madisonville; 29 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lenora ‘Lynn’ Watson Loper
July 1, 1926 — May 20, 2000

BREMOND — Services for Lenora “Lynn” Watson Loper, 73, of Caldwell are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bremond Funeral Home in Bremond.

The Rev. David Murphy of Calvary Baptist Church in Bryan will officiate.

Burial will be in Herd’s Prairie Cemetery in Petteway, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Loper died Saturday at her home.

She was born in Bremond and had lived in Caldwell for five years. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in College Station and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Loper.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Betty Martin of Bryan and Kenneth and Kathy Martin of Caldwell; a brother and sister-in-law, L.C. and Bessie Watson of Caldwell; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

William Turner
Feb. 28, 1955 — May 20, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for William Turner, 45, of Midway, Texas, are set for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Southside Church of Christ in Midway.

The Rev. M.C. Burns will officiate. Burial will be in the Midway Southside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville.

A wake will be from 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Turner died Saturday in San Antonio.

He was a lifelong resident of Midway and was a member of the Southside Church of Christ.

Survivors include his mother, Jeanette Turner of Midway; his former wife, Doris James of Dallas; two sons, Marcus Turner of Midway and Damion Green of Huntsville, Texas; a stepson, Nicholas A. Green of Madisonville; three daughters, Nikki James of Arlington, Texas, Sheree James of Midway and Sha Keiarracq Turner of Madisonville; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward James and Zelda Turner of Missouri City, Texas; a sister, Brenda E. Ford of Midway; and 15 grandchildren.

Catherine V. Colvin
July 4, 1926 — May 23, 2000

CALDWELL — Graveside services for Catherine V. Colvin, 73, of Caldwell are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Caldwell Masonic Cemetery.

The Rev. Del Miller will officiate.

Mrs. Colvin died Tuesday morning at Sherwood Health Care Facility in Bryan.

She was born in Indiana. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Harold E. Colvin of Caldwell; one son, Johnny Wallace of Vincennes, Ind.; one daughter, Linda Blake of Washington, Ind.; one sister, Bonnie Aldredge of Washington, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Randall ‘Randy’ Hover
Dec. 11, 1956 — May 22, 2000

HEARNE — Services for Randall “Randy” Hover, 43, of Hearne are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne.

The Rev. Howard Vann will officiate.

Mr. Hover died Monday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Arizona and was an artist. He also restored cars.

Survivors include his parents, Curtis and Faye Hover of Hearne; one daughter, Sara Hover of Georgia; one grandson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kelly and Carey Wilganowski of Bremond and Dawn and Mark Hintzel of Hearne; and several nieces and nephews.

Katha Lee Kerr
Sept. 22, 1921 — May 21, 2000

Services for Katha Lee Kerr, 78, of Caldwell are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bryan.

The Rev. James L. McBride will officiate. Burial will be in Old Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Kerr died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Burleson County. She was a member of New Jerusalem Christ Holy Sanctified Church in Tunis, Texas.

Survivors include her husband, James P. Kerr of Caldwell; five sons and two daughters-in-law, James E. Kerr of Austin, Herbert Kerr of Houston, Robert and Terry Kerr of Caldwell, Larry and Leslie Kerr of Dallas and Stanley Kerr of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Ida Stepney of Bryan, Joyce Clay of Houston and Glendia Allen of Bryan; 18 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to New Jerusalem Christ Holy Sanctified Church.

Wilma O. ‘Dickey’ Luckey
July 28, 1906 — May 21, 2000

A memorial service for Wilma O. “Dickey” Luckey, 93, of Bryan is set for 3 p.m. Friday at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale.

The Rev. Paul Kethley will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Luckey died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Milam County. She lived in Bryan for three years as a resident of Sherwood Health Care Facility and had also lived in Rockdale and Temple. She was a nurse’s aide.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.E. Luckey.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, James E. “Gene” and Eleanor Luckey of Rockdale and John L. Luckey of Spring, Texas; three daughters and one son-in-law, Vera Luckey Knowles and Jack Knowles of Belton, Texas, Dorothy J. “Dottie” Hightower of Snook and Cynthia A. “Cindy” Mushinski of Snook; one brother-in-law and his wife, Lee and Ruby Luckey of Rockdale; two sisters-in-law, Amy Wagner of Rockdale and Julia King of Rockdale; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sylvia Sorenson
April 24, 1916—May 23, 2000

ROCKDALE—Services for Sylvia ,orenson, 84, of Lexington, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Lexngton United Methodist Church.

The Rev. David White will officiate. Burial will be in Mesquite Cemetery near Lexington.

Mrs. Sorenson died Tuesday at Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale.

She was born in Lee County, Texas, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton C. Sorenson.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jeannine and Willie Brewer of Lexington; two sisters, Bonnie Sorenson of Lexington and Ethel Hohle of Houston; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Lexington Methodist Parsonage Fund.

Arrangements are under the direc'tion of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
