FRANKLIN — Services for Kalynn Ren้ Quinn Hensley, 19, of Franklin are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Franklin.

Jim Manning of Franklin will officiate. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.

Miss Hensley died Friday in Houston.

She was born in Huntsville, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of Franklin. She was a 1999 graduate of Normangee High School and attended Blinn Junior College. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin.

Survivors include grandparents, Margaret and Johnnie Quinn of Franklin; her mother and stepfather, Dena and Michael Struck of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Kamryn Hensley of Austin; two brothers, Kyle Hensley and Tyler Hensley, both of Portland, Ore.; great-grandmother, Mary Amalfi of Franklin; her father, Charles Hensley of Austin; grandmother, Ann Hensley of Austin; and step-grandparents, Gayle and Jerry Struck of Miles City, Mont.

James T. Closs
Aug. 25, 1929 — Aug. 5, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for James T. Closs, 70, of Madisonville are set for 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville.

The Rev. Leroy Stanton will officiate. Burial will be in Allphin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Mr. Closs died Saturday in a Bryan hospital.

He was born in Brazos County and had lived in Madisonville for 50 years. He graduated from Bryan High School and attended Sam Houston State University. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and was a rancher and custom farmer. He owned and operated a Gulf Truck Service Station until his retirement and was also a bulk agent for Exxon. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 740 A.F. & A.M. in Madisonville.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Closs of Madisonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Clyde Parker of Madisonville; a brother, Charles “Buddy” Closs of Baytown, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Maggie Smith Hall
Dec. 7, 1903 — Aug. 5, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Maggie Smith Hall, 96, of Bedias are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Bedias.

Brother Jerald Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Bedias Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville and from noon to the time of the services Monday at the church.

Mrs. Hall died Saturday in a Madisonville nursing home.

She was born in Hickory Flat, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Allen Hall; and a daughter, Elaine Ivey.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. and Bonnie Hensarling of San Antonio; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Delbert McClain of Huntsville, Texas; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Viva Bell Strong Poehl
Dec. 31, 1912 — Aug. 4, 2000

CALDWELL — Services for Viva Bell Strong Poehl, 87, of Caldwell are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Caldwell.

The Rev. Don Laird will officiate. Burial will be in Birdsong Cemetery near Deanville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Mrs. Poehl died Friday in Burleson/St. Joseph Heath Center in Caldwell.

She was born in Lee County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Poehl; and a son, J. Delton Poehl.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Jo Ann Poehl of Caldwell; four daughters and sons-in-law, Vinelda and Leroy Schwartz of Deanville, Magdalene and Jim Cahill of Denton, Texas, Gayla and Don West of McKinney, Texas, and Bengee and Thomas Trnka of Caldwell; a brother and sister-in-law, Granvel and Arlene Strong of Caldwell; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and James “Ed” Story; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clifford W. Lynn
Oct. 20, 1910 — Aug. 5, 2000

ROCKDALE — Services for Clifford W. Lynn, 89, of Lexington are set for 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Lexington, Texas.

The Rev. Chuck Miller of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Hugh Wilson Cemetery in Tanglewood, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mr. Lynn died Saturday at his home.

He was born in Tanglewood and had lived in Lexington for 28 years. He formerly lived in Houston and was a tool engineer with Hughes Tool Co. in Houston. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church in Lexington.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Marguerite McVoy Lynn.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Barry W. and Jan Lynn of Tanglewood; two daughters and a son-in-law, Virginia Eason and Gareld McEathron of Houston and Sandra Canavan of Boerne, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Eva Nedbalek
Sept. 9, 1911 — Aug. 5, 2000

Graveside services for Eva Nedbalek, 88, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bryan City Cemetery.

The Rev. Bob Richers of the First United Methodist Church in Bryan will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Nedbalek died Saturday at her son’s home.

She was born in Leeday, Texas, and had lived in Bryan for 71 years. She was retired as the secretary for Lamar School in Bryan and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Omega Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Nedbalek.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, George and Jackie Nedbalek of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Cecil Steward of Lincoln, Neb.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 205 E. 29th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803.

Lillie Duncan Smith
Jan. 25, 1914 — Aug. 5, 2000

CALDWELL — Services for Lillie Duncan Smith, 86, of Houston are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

The Rev. Darrin Holub of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Lyons will officiate.
Mrs. Smith died Saturday.

She was born in Caldwell and was a homemaker. She lived in Houston until March when she went to live at the Autumn Hill Nursing Home in Tomball, Texas.

Survivors include her husband, Fredrick Smith; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Charlyene and Wendell Prescott of Houston, June and Thomas Calvin of Caldwell and Hazel Rhodes of Pinehurst, Texas; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret Jordan Cook
March 6, 1920 — Aug. 6, 2000

Services for Margaret Jordan Cook, 80, of Granbury, Texas, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Bryan.

The Rev. J.W. Kornegay will officiate. Burial will be in College Station Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Cook died Sunday in Granbury.

She was born in Fort Worth and lived in Granbury since 1993. She formerly lived in Bryan for 26 years, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Granbury and was a 56 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mart Chapter No. 109. She attended North Texas Teachers College and Baylor University.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn J. Cook of Granbury; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Elizabeth Cook of Dallas; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Evelyn and Howard Scott of Fort Worth; a grandson; and numerous cousins.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Brazos County Unit, 3207 Briarcrest Drive, Bryan, Texas, or to a charity of choice.

Linda M. DeSalvo
Jan. 11, 1963 — Aug. 6, 2000

Services for Linda M. DeSalvo, 37, of College Station are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in College Station.

The Rev. Dean Wilhelm of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel-College Station and from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. DeSalvo died Sunday in Houston.

She was born in New Orleans, was a former resident of Houston and lived in College Station for 15 years. She graduated from Texas A&M University and was an architect. She was past president of the Brazos Valley American Institute of Architecture, past leader of the Lamplighters of the Home School Group, a former Girl Scout leader and taught art classes at her home. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where she taught religious education classes and was a Gabriel Project Angel.

Survivors include her husband, David DeSalvo of College Station; her children, Ryan DeSalvo, Justin DeSalvo, Tiffany DeSalvo, Robert and Kym Wagner and Brelynn Wagner, all of College Station; her parents, Girard and Helen Dodge of Houston; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Karen and Leon Faterkowski and Kathleen Scarbough, all of Houston; a brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Henry and Janet DeSalvo and Medrea Wagner, all of Houston, Brenda See of The Woodlands, Texas, and Mary DeSalvo of Dickinson, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ethel Keyser Hightower
March 13, 1911 — Aug. 6, 2000

NAVASOTA — Services for Ethel Keyser Hightower, 89, of Milano and formerly of Stoneham are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

The Rev. Bill Dugger will officiate. Burial will be in Stoneham Cemetery.

Mrs. Hightower died Sunday in Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

She was born in Stoneham and was a homemaker. She was a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse Heath and Homer Hightower.

Survivors include a daughter and two sons-in-law, William Miles of Conroe, Texas, and Norma Lynn and Walter Lee Arnold of Tomball, Texas; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Van Conger and Lohoma and Bill Holley, all of Livingston, Texas; a sister, Betty Armatys of Stoneham; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Fannie Irene McAdams
Feb. 21, 1909 — Aug. 6, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Fannie Irene McAdams, 91, of Madisonville are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the McAdams Chapel on F.M. 1696 in Walker County.

The Revs. J.W.L. Adams and Jeff Witcher will officiate. Burial will be in McAdams Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville.
Mrs. McAdams died Sunday at her home.

She was born in Madisonville and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 193 in Madisonville.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Luther McAdams Jr. of Madisonville; two daughters, Donnie McAdams Moore and Ann McAdams Colwell, both of Madisonville; two brothers, Clifford Stewart and Orie Stewart, both of Madisonville; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Darius Demond Robinson-Searcy
Feb. 8, 1992 — Aug. 6, 2000

Services for Darius Demond Robinson-Searcy, 8, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Living God in Bryan.

Elder John R. Clay of the Church of the Living God will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

A wake service will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Darius died Sunday in College Station.

He was a lifelong resident of Bryan and was a student at South Knoll Elementary School. He was a member of the Church of the Living God.

Survivors include his parents, Barbara Robinson of Bryan and Helree Lee Searcy Jr. of College Station; grandparents, Ida Ruth Harris of Bryan and Odie Harris Sr. of College Station; a brother, Jacolby De’Andre Robinson of Bryan; and two sisters, Francis Lee Searcy and Shalundra Dashawn Hardy, both of Bryan.
