Edith Alford Brown
April 30, 1908 — Aug. 18, 2000

ROCKDALE — Graveside services for Edith Alford Brown, 92, of Austin are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.

Greg Fenn will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Brown died Friday at her home.

She was born in Milam County and had lived in Austin for six years. She was formerly of Houston and worked as a library clerk at the Methodist Hospital in Houston for 16 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mason William Brown.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harold L. and Dorothy Brown of Houston; a daughter and son-in-law, Marolyn and Kenneth R. Robertson Sr. of Austin; three brothers, Oliver Franklin Alford of Marlin, Texas, Weldon Alford of Rockdale and Wilburn Alford of Austin; a sister, June Fenn of Lufkin, Texas; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Austin.

Jessie Lean Druery Webb Felder
Dec. 24, 1920 — Aug. 15, 2000

Services for Jessie Lean Druery Webb Felder, 79, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Monday at West Union Baptist Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Anthony Lang of West Union Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

A wake service will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Felder died Tuesday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Grimes County and was a lifelong resident of Bryan. She was a member of West Union Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, was president of the senior choir, was a member of Mission II Society and was a member of the Women’s Sunday school class. She was retired.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Oscar Webb Sr. and Eddie Felder Sr.; and four daughters, Carolyn, Patricia, Doris Jean and Cheryl Ann.

Survivors include four sons, Curtis Webb Sr. and Terrell E. “Tip” Webb Sr., both of Bryan, Rueben T. Webb Sr. of Hampton, Va., and Major Eddie Lee Felder Jr. of Biloxi, Miss.; a sister, Annie B. Druery of Bryan; and 17 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to West Union Baptist Church.

Frank Albert Kologinczak Sr.
Sept. 27, 1906 — Aug. 18, 2000

Services for Frank Albert Kologinczak Sr., 93, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Rev. John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Msgr. Gleissner Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kologinczak died Friday at his home.

He was born in Brazos County and had lived in Bryan for most of his life. He was retired as a wrecker foreman for Southern Pacific Railroad and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1834 in Bryan.

Survivors include five sons and three daughters-in-law, Bernard and Debbie Kologinczak of Bryan, Frank Jr. and Lois Kologinczak, Julian and Gertrude Kologinczak and Kenneth Kologinczak, all of Houston, and John Kologinczak of Texas City, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Wayne Allen of Bryan; two brothers, Louis Kologinczak of Bryan and Stephen Kologinczak of Houston; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Julian Grady Wakefield Jr.
Jan. 24, 1932 — Aug. 18, 2000

CENTERVILLE — Services for Julian Grady Wakefield Jr., 68, of Centerville are set for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

Ralph Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Thomason Cemetery in the Guy’s Store community of Leon County.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wakefield died Friday in Bryan.

He was born in Midway and was a member of the Church of Christ in Midway. He lived in Crockett, Texas, and taught school in Crockett and Latexo for five years. He was a graduate of Sam Houston State University and served in the U.S. Army in the Medical Corps. He was a rancher and served as the Commissioner of Precinct No. 1 in Leon County for 28 years. He served on the Trinity River Improvement Association and the board of directors of the Sam Houston Alumni Association.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueie Wakefield of the Guy’s Store community; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Grady Thomason and Leslie Wakefield and Joel Zachary and Kristi Wakefield, all of Guy’s Store, and John Fleming Wakefield of Madisonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and Tommy Minze of Madisonville; two brothers, Larry Wakefield of Madisonville and Kenneth Wakefield of Bryan; two sisters, Wilma Wyle Wingfield of Tomball and Betty Jean Gayle of De Soto, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Jessie J. Washington
June 19, 1922 — Aug. 15, 2000

Services for Jessie J. Washington, 78, of Caldwell are set for 2:30 p.m. Monday at Daniel & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Bryan.

The Rev. Leo Jones of Goodwill Baptist Church will officiate.

Mr. Washington died Tuesday.

He had lived in Caldwell since 1998 and lived most of his life in California. He was employed by Boating House for the Sick and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Corine Washington of Caldwell; and numerous stepchildren, grandchildren; and other relatives.

Lois Jean Bennett Crozier
Sept. 15, 1932 — Aug. 19, 2000

BEDIAS — Services for Lois Jean Bennett Crozier, 67, of Bedias are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Bedias.

Bro. Lanier Stevens of the North Madison Church of Christ in Madisonville will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Grove Cemetery in Iola.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ms. Crozier died Saturday.

She was born in Mesa, Texas, and was the owner of the Croz Nest Antiques & Collectibles Shop in Bedias. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jo Carol McCorquodale and Glenda Jo Senechal.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Judy Willis of Bedias, Bobbie Crouch of Sweeney, Texas, and Mary and Les Spitzenberger of Lexington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Casie McCorquodale and David and Sharon McCorquodale, all of Magnolia, Texas; a brother, Thomas Bennett of Bedias; a sister, Sue Carolyn Denman of Bryan; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A.B. Ham
Nov. 1, 1922 — Aug. 19, 2000

Graveside services for A.B. Ham, 77, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mr. Ham died Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Houston and had lived in Bryan since 1990. He was employed with Armco Steel prior to his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 159.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Ham of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, James Frederic and Jacquelyne Ham of Houston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Faye Heims and Sharon Elaine and Dewayne Hollin, all of Bryan; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice Faye and Jack Townsend of Welder, Texas; and nine grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Ruthie Lee Stoneham
July 8, 1935 — Aug. 18, 2000

NAVASOTA — Services for Ruthie Lee Stoneham, 65, of Navasota are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Missionary Camp Baptist Church in Navasota.

The Rev. James Mable of Missionary Camp Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery in Hempstead, Texas.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Navasota.
A wake service will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stoneham died Friday in Grimes St. Joseph Health Center.

She was born in Hempstead and was a homemaker. She was a member of Missionary Camp Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Walter and Wynette Toler and Andrew Toler, all of Bryan; four daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Carl Gillum of Hempstead, Glenda Bonner and Eli Sweed of Bryan, Chanda and George Bates and Alicia and Kevin Richards, all of Navasota; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Georgia Freeman, Doris Connan, Tommie Lee Thompson and Dorothy Sanders, all of Houston, and Shirley and Floyd Edwards of Hempstead; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Darien Lee Jochen
April 3, 1989 — Aug. 20, 2000

Services for Darien Lee Jochen, 11, of College Station are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in College Station.

The Rev. Dean Wilhelm of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in College Station Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel-College Station.
Darien died Sunday in Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

She was born in Houston and had lived most of her life in College Station. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and attended Cypress Grove Intermediate School. She was in Girl Scout Troop No. 1517 and was a student at Suzanne’s School of Dance. She played basketball and soccer.

Survivors include her parents, John and Valerie Jochen of College Station; a brother, Vincent Jochen of College Station; a sister, Karis Jochen of College Station; grandparents, Tut and Diane Ellis of Montgomery, Texas, and Clarence Jochen of San Antonio; great-grandmother, Erma Richmond of Themopolis, Wyo.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the “Memorial Fund for Darien” at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2541 Earl Rudder Freeway., College Station, Texas 77845.

Keith Austin Cothran
Sept. 25, 1957 — Aug. 21, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Graveside services for Keith Austin Cothran, 42, of Pasadena, Texas, are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Oxford Cemetery in Madisonville.
The Rev. Dean Ferguson will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.
Mr. Cothran died Monday in Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena, Texas.

He was born in Pasadena and attended the University of Texas and graduated from San Jacinto College with an associate degree in computer aided drafting.

Survivors include a son, Cody Cothran of LaPorte, Texas; his mother and step-father, Shirley Wilson Patterson and Pat Patterson of Kerrville, Texas; his father, Ralph Cothran of San Leon, Texas; three step-sisters, Kelly Gonzales of Temecula, Calif., Debbie Gilbert and Wendy Patterson, both of Houston; and numerous step-nieces and nephews.

Ennis Odell Bottoms
Oct. 14, 1918 — Aug. 21, 2000

JEWETT — Services for Ennis Odell Bottoms, 81, of Jewett are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Jewett.

The Revs. James Eagle and Barron Harris of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m., at Ricks Funeral Home in Jewett.

Mr. Bottoms died Monday in Newby, Texas.

He was born and raised in Jewett and was a former resident of Houston, Angleton and Mexia. He was retired as a pipefitter for Dow Chemical and as the Fire and Safety Officer for the Mexia State School. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jewett and the Springfield Masonic Lodge in Mexia for over 50 years. He served in the Armed Guard Branch of the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Tennie Mae Bottoms.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Bottoms of Jewett; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Bobby Henry of Kerrville, Texas, Pamella and Bob Crider of Mexia and Deborah and Glen Hullum of Teague, Texas; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe Jeryl and Jean Bottoms, Dale and Lynette Bottoms, Durwood and Louise Bottoms, Jack and June Bottoms and Paul and Dena Bottoms; a sister-in-law, Maureen Bottoms; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
