Norman Clint Williams
July 22, 1922 — Sept. 30, 2000

NORMANGEE — Services for Norman Clint Williams, 78, of the Macy community are set for 10 a.m. Monday at the Macy Memorial Chapel.

Bro. Leroy Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Macy Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.

Arrangements are under the directions of Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.

Mr. Williams died Saturday at his home.

He was a lifelong resident of the Macy community and was a retired rancher and bus driver for the Normangee schools. He was a member of the Macy Memorial Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Selma Williams of Macy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jessey Williams of Edge and Jim and Patty Williams of Macy; a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Lorne Davis of Lubbock; and six grandchildren.

Rebecca Margarite Walker
Oct. 4, 1917 — Sept. 30, 2000

HEARNE — Services for Rebecca Margarite Walker, 82, of Elliott, Texas, are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Elliott Baptist Church in Elliott.

The Rev. Eddie Mayo of the Elliott Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Elliott Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.

Mrs. Walker died Saturday in Sherwood Nursing Home in Bryan.

She was born in Elliott and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Elliott Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, David Lester and June Thompson, and Tommy Gene Thompson, all of Smithville, Texas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Thelma Gandy of Philadelphia, Malcolm and Geneva Gandy of Gause, Texas, and J.D. and Joan Gandy of Canyon Lake, Texas; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lorene Barnett, and Jeanette and Mason Odneal, all of Elliott, Evelyn Britton, and Dolma and Sam Ponzio, all of Bryan; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Clyde Wilder
April 26, 1911 — Oct. 1, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Clyde Wilder, 89, of Madisonville are set for 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.

The Rev. Sid Myers will officiate. Burial will be in the George Cemetery near Normangee.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to the time of the services Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilder died Sunday at a Madisonville nursing home.

He was born in Madison County.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Elaine Wilder Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Mae Wilder; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nora and Gene Morris, and Linda and Joe South, all of Bryan; a sister, Trubie Smoot of Iola; two brothers, Carl Wilder of Humble, Texas, and Roland Wilder of Livingston, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Hahn
Feb. 16, 1922 — Sept. 30, 2000

MASON, Texas — Services for Marjorie Hahn, 78, of Mason are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason.

The Rev. John Auer will officiate. Burial will be in the Long Mountain Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason Funeral Home in Mason.

Mrs. Hahn died Saturday in a San Angelo, Texas, care center.

She was born in Randolph County, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Hahn.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn Schroeder of College Station and Margaret and Fritz Leifeste of San Angelo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Mae Dean Hahn of Longview, Texas, and Walter and Dorothy Hahn of Brookshire, Texas; a sister-in-law, Clara Gross; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Verniece Arnold

May 3, 1913 — Oct. 1, 2000

Private graveside services for Verniece Arnold, 87, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Luling City Cemetery in Luling, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Mrs. Arnold died Sunday in a Houston hospital.

She was born in Drumright, Okla., and lived in Bryan for 16 years. She was a former resident of Houston. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

Survivors include her husband, Eli Wilson Arnold of Bryan; a sister, Wanda Griffin of Bryan; two nieces; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Norman G. Murphy

March 24, 1925 — Oct. 1, 2000

NAVASOTA — Services for Norman G. Murphy, 75, of Magnolia, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

The Rev. Jerome Teichmiller of Zion Lutheran Church in Tomball, Texas, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Murphy died Sunday in Magnolia.

He was born in Calvert and was retired from Champion Paper Company. He was a Protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Emilie Murphy of Magnolia; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Carolyn Thompson of Runaway Bay, Texas, Sharon and Ronnie Carter of Parker, Colo., Shirley and Marvin Novak of Seabrook, Texas, and Gayle and Jeff Woolshey of New Caney, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Oscar and LaVera Murphy of Pasadena, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Edward Black of Paradise, Texas; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Raymond Philip Sechelski

Oct. 12, 1923 — Oct. 1, 2000

NAVASOTA — Services for Raymond Philip Sechelski, 76, of Anderson are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson.

The Rev. Louis S. Sikorski of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home in Navasota and from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the services Wednesday at the church.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Sechelski died Sunday in Grimes-St. Joseph Health Center.

He was born in Anderson and lived in Anderson for 39 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired as an Ace Hardware store owner. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Regina M. Sechelski of Anderson; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Michelle Sechelski of Anderson; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Kenneth Wetuski of Plantersville, Texas; five brothers, Bennie Sechelski of Bryan, A.P. Sechelski of Big Springs, Texas, David Sechelski of New Hampshire, Alford Sechelski of Chappell Hill and Marion Sechelski of Anderson; two sisters, Lena Pasket and Margaret Walkoviak, both of Houston; and seven grandchildren.

Phileon LeFlore
Oct. 9, 1910 — Oct. 2, 2000

Services for Phileon LeFlore, 89, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan. The Rev. Tom Jones of Central Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Restever Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. LeFlore died Monday at Sherwood Health Care Center.

He was born in Millerton, Okla. He was an airway traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie E. LeFlore of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Diane LeFlore of Navasota; a daughter, Rebekah LeFlore of Bryan; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Sophie Boswell
Jan. 13, 1913 — Oct. 2, 2000

HOUSTON — Services for Sophie Boswell, 87, of Houston are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. The Rev. Henry Beseda will officiate. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boswell died Monday in Clear Lake, Texas.

She was born in Frenstat, Texas. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Boswell.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Wanda Poehl of Houston; a sister, Marie Ahrens of Caldwell; and one grandson, Allen Poehl of Houston.

Bernice “Bea” Cannon
Nov. 4, 1926 — Oct. 2, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Bernice “Bea” Cannon, 73, of Madisonville are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Madisonville Funeral Home. The Rev. Lon McVeigh will officiate. Burial will be at Park Cemetery. A eulogy will be given by her grandson, John Bumgarner.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cannon died Monday at Madison St. Joseph Health Center.

She was born in Pawtucket, R.I., She attended the Living Truth Church in Madisonville and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a resident of Madison County since 1971.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy James Cannon.

Survivors include a son, Charles Jackson of Huntsville, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Joseph Bumgarner of Channelview, Texas, Sherry and Wayne Stewart of Mobile, Ala., and Brenda and Jim Porter of Sweetwater, Texas; her adopted family; Diane and Lonnie Carey of Madisonville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends in Madisonville.

Patricia Ann Stewart
February 26, 1950 — Sept. 25, 2000

ROCKDALE — A memorial service for Patricia Ann Stewart, 50, of Rockdale, formerly of Richmond, Va., is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Assembly of God Church in Rockdale. The Rev. Thomas Welch will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home of Rockdale.
Miss Stewart died Sept. 25 in the Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
She was born in Richmond. She was a secretary.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Nicole Knicely of Virginia, and Monique and T.R. Larison of Rockdale; and two grandchildren.

Jewel A. Piper
Jan. 6, 1907 — Oct. 2, 2000

BASTROP, Texas — Services for Jewel A. Piper, 93, of Bastrop, formerly of Navasota, are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota. The Rev. Ross Poteet of First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Erwin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Piper died Monday in Smithville, Texas.

She was born in Erwin, Texas. She had been a seamstress for Patouts Dry Goods Store. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardene Piper.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Patrick and Virginia Piper of Bastrop; a sister-in-law, Alene Arrington of Piedmont, Texas; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
