Services for Maria Amelia Sanchez, 88, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. The Rev. Victor Robles of Santa Theresa Catholic Church in Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sanchez died Tuesday at Sherwood Nursing Home in Bryan.

She was born in Cameron. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Santa Theresa Catholic Church in Bryan.

Survivors include a daughter, Victoria Quintero of Bryan; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Julia Burns
June 28, 1902 — Oct. 4, 2000

Services for Julia Burns, 98, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan. The Rev. Thomas Estes of Covenant Presbyterian Church of College Station will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burns died Wednesday at St. Joseph Manor.

She was a lifelong resident of Brazos County.

She was a homemaker and a member of the P.E.O., DAR, The Woman’s Club, and College Station Garden Club. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1925. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patton W. Burns.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Curtis M. and Ann A. Burns of Bryan, and Jack P. Burns of St. Charles, Mo.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Nettie Bell Murray
Sept. 27, 1902 — Oct. 4, 2000

SOMERVILLE — Graveside services for Nettie Bell Murray, 98, of Somerville are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville. The Rev. Jimmy VanDorn will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and 8 to 9 a.m. Friday at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.

Mrs. Murray died Wednesday in a College Station nursing home.

She was born in Clay. She attended school in Somerville and worked as a teller for Citizen State Bank. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Somerville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Cecil Murray.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Tucker of College Station; a niece, Linda Reichmann of Irvine, Calif.; and one nephew, John Tucker of College Station.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Somerville.

Robert L. Bryan
Oct. 5, 1955 — Oct. 1, 2000

CLAY — Services for Robert L. Bryan, 44, of Clay are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Clay. The Rev. Stephanie Herd of Macedonia AME Church will officiate. Burial will be in Clay Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

Mr. Bryan died Sunday at the V.A. Hospital in Temple.

He was born in Brenham and attended Snook High School and Houston Community College. He was employed at Delta Technology Corporation. Mr. Bryan served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Jenkins Wilson of Bryan and Natasha Holmes of Houston; his mother, Mary D. Bryan of Clay; two sisters, Cynthia Marie Brown of Houston and Vanenna Bryan Derouen of Baytown, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Billy Noel Rigby
April 19, 1930 — Oct. 3, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Billy Noel Rigby, 70, of Madisonville are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the North Madison Church of Christ. Lanier Stevens will officiate. Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Madisonville Funeral Home.

Mr. Rigby died Tuesday at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Mr. Rigby was born in Shiro. He resided in Madisonville since 1970.

He graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1951 and had served 20 years in the U. S. Air Force where he retired as master sargeant. He retired after 20 years with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was a member of the North Madison Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Rigby of Madisonville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Pam Rigby of Madisonville and Billy Rigby Jr. and Kim of Andover, Kan.; a mother-in-law, Nancy Black of Hodgenville, Ky.; and five grandchildren.

Kylie Elizabeth Uptergrove
Sept. 26, 2000 — Oct. 2, 2000

Graveside services for Kylie Elizabeth Uptergrove, infant, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dunn Cemetery near Colorado City, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City.

She died Monday at the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

Kylie was born in College Station.

Survivors include her parents, Shawn and Jodie Uptergrove of College Station; a twin sister, Kenzie Elizabeth; grandparents, Mike and Ann Uptergrove of Dunn, Texas, and Ray and Jeanne Ellis of Colorado City; great-grandparents, H.E. and Phil Kelley of Snyder, Texas, Hubert and Laverna Uptergrove and Othal and Essie Pearl Ellis, all of Colorado City, and Ken and Bebe Johnson of Hobbs, N.M.; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Mary P. McBrearty
May 26, 1903 — Oct. 4, 2000

Services for Mary P. McBrearty, 97, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in San Antonio. The Rev. Pat Ragsdale will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio.

Visitation will be Sunday at Porter-Loring Funeral Home in San Antonio. A rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Sunday.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. McBrearty died Wednesday at the Millican House.

She was born in San Antonio and had been a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in College Station.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. McBrearty Sr.

Survivors include a son, W.F. McBrearty Jr. of San Antonio; a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Wally Groff of College Station; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in College Station.

Ella Ada Meyer Neutzler
Aug. 25, 1910 — Oct. 4, 2000

BURTON — Services for Ella Ada Meyer Neutzler, 90, of Burton are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Greenvine. The Rev. Teresa Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the La Bahia Cemetery near Burton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton
Mrs. Neutzler died Wednesday at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham.

She was born in the Prairie Hill community of Washington County. She attended Greenvine schools. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine. Mrs. Neutzler was also a member of the Ladies Aid Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erich Neutzler.

Survivors include her sons, Earl and Nelson Neutzler, both of Burton; a sister, Emma Neutzler of Brenham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine.

Inger Marie McClean Littrell
Dec. 29, 1924 — Oct. 4, 2000

NEW BADEN — A memorial service for Inger Marie McClean Littrell, 75, of New Baden is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in New Baden. The Rev. Dwain Steinkuehler of Bryan will officiate.

Mrs. Littrell died Wednesday in Bryan.

She was born in Danevang, Texas. She was a resident of New Baden for the past 20 years, moving here from Houston. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Marvin Grelle of Temple, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Ginger McClean of Richardson, Texas, and Dwain and Kerry McClean of Spring, Texas; two sisters, Eda Cook of Houston and Elna Walker of Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Albert Oldham Jr.
March 12, 1945 — Sept. 30, 2000

HOUSTON — Services for Albert Oldham Jr., 55, of Houston are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at United Missionary Baptist Church in Bryan. Bishop J.C. Ebbs Jr. of United Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Bryan.
A wake will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at People’s Mortuary.

Mr. Oldham died Saturday at his home.

He was a truck driver.

Survivors include his son, Milton E. Oldham of Bryan; five daughters, Gwendolyn Alcorn of Houston, Elizabeth A. Oldham of Bryan, Erica Oldham, Wendy Oldham and Mary Oldham, all of Houston; seven brothers, Pastor Charles Oldham, Walter Parrell and Donald R. Parrell, all of Bryan, George Taylor, Billy Taylor and Hampton Taylor, all of Dallas, and John Albert Taylor of California; four sisters, Linda Tennell of Houston, Ruby Shannon and Jackie Payton, both of Bryan, and June Young of Dallas; his mother, Lemar Shannon of Bryan; his godparents, James and Johnnie Mae Allen of Bryan; and five grandchildren.

Leslie ‘L.G.’ Green
April 15, 1925 — Oct. 1, 2000

Services for the Rev. Leslie “L.G.” Green, 75, of Bryan are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at G.W. Tabernacle Church in Bryan. The Rev. H.L. Goodman of Morning Star Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Bryan.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Jones-Washington Mortuary.

Mr. Green died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Brazos County, attended Bryan public schools and served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired plumber, a minister and a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Green of Bryan; four sons, Willie Odis Brisby of Franklin, Jessie Green of Houston, Kevin Green of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Christopher Green of Bryan; two daughters, Mary Beth Green and Dorothy Green-Lewis, both of Bryan; one brother, the Rev. Scottie Smith of Bryan; two sisters, Johnnie Mae Williams of Bryan and Lillie Pearl McLemore of San Angelo; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Unice Lee Turner Jr.
Sept. 21, 1958 — Oct. 1, 2000

Services for Unice Lee Turner Jr., 42, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Lee Chapel Methodist Church in Bryan. The Rev. Floyd Polk will officiate. Burial will be at the City of College Station Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and a wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at Jones-Washington Mortuary.

Mr. Turner died Sunday at his home.

He was born in Robertson County. He attended BlackShear High School. He was a member of Christ Holy Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda P. Searcy Turner of Bryan; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ruben White, Sherord and Zina White and Keith and Laura White, all of Bryan; four brothers, Phil Love of Houston and Ray C. Turner, John W. Turner and Aaron Turner, all of Hearne; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Eula D. and Michael Burns, Ruth and David Rosemond and Lenora and Ron Bullock, all of Hearne; his parents, Unice L. Turner Sr. of Hearne and Iola Turner Bowers of Hearne; and 11 grandchildren.

Timothy Dix
May 25, 1923 — Oct. 1, 2000

Services for Timothy Dix, 77, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Baptist Church in Bryan. The Rev. Kinnard will officiate. Burial will be at Restever Memorial Park in Bryan.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Daniel & Son Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mr. Dix died Sunday at his home.

He was born in Stone City in Brazos County. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired chemical technician. He was a member of the Fairveiw Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Dix.

Survivors include his son, Curtis Charles Dix of Somerville; a brother, Sylvester Dix of Houston; two sisters, Chaney Jordon of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mary Morgan of Bryan; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Brazos Valley.
