MADISONVILLE — Graveside services for Ronald Dee Thomas, 59, of Iola are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch.

The Rev. Scott Jones of the Missionary Baptist Church of Iola will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville and from 1:30 p.m. to the time of the services Tuesday at the cemetery .

Mr. Thomas died Saturday at his home.

He was born in Iola.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona Thomas of Dallas; his mother, Annie L. Thomas of Houston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy Thomas of Oklahoma and Tamey and Bruce Bernal of Rosenburg, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Wayne and Anna Thomas of Houston and Jerry and Sharon Thomas of Bryan; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and aunts.

Selene Williams Tissue
Feb. 10, 1934 — Oct. 14, 2000

SOMERVILLE — Services for Selene Williams Tissue, 66, of Somerville are set for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Somerville.

The Rev. Jimmy VanDorn will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.

Mrs. Tissue died Saturday in Methodist Diagnostic Center Hospital in Houston.

She was born in El Dorado, Ark., and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Somerville.

Survivors include her husband, John M. Tissue of Somerville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Paul Vargas, and René and Randy Hall, all of Houston; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Joseph James Gallagher
June 25, 1947 — Oct. 15, 2000

Services for Joseph James Gallagher, 53, of College Station are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Randy Scott of the Bethel Temple Assembly of God will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station.

Mr. Gallagher died Sunday at College Station Medical Center.

He was born in Napoleon, Okla., and lived in College Station for 19 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Bethel Temple Assembly of God.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Gallagher of College Station; two sons, Jamie Gallagher and Norman Gallagher, both of Kitterell, N.C.; two stepsons, John Paul O’Neill of College Station and Benjamin Lee O’Neill of Bryan; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Ann O’Neill of Waco; four brothers, John Gallagher of Dundee, Mich., Todd Gallagher of Monroe, La., Tom Gallagher of Waterville, Ohio, and Daniel Gallagher of Davie, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice G. Hodges
Oct. 16, 2000

Services for Alice G. Hodges of College Station are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in College Station.

The Revs. Malcolm Bane and David Rowland of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Hodges died Monday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Cairo, Ill., and lived in College Station since 1967. She was a homemaker and was a past member of the Extension Service Club of the Agriculture Extension Service at Texas A&M University. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in College Station, where she was in the Mary Martha Sunday school class.

Survivors include her husband, R.J. Hodges of College Station; a son, Nick Edwards of California; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Stidd of Groveport, Ohio, and Sharon and Leonard Fox of College Station; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Thelma Lou and Charles Stewart of Austin and Beatrice Roton of Phoenix; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church in College Station.

Victoria Hernandez
March 23, 1949 — Oct. 14, 2000

Services for Victoria Hernandez, 51, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Victor Robles of Santa Teresa Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Hernandez died Saturday at her home.

She was a lifelong resident of Bryan and was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Cesario Hernandez of Bryan; five sons and four daughters-in-law, John Paul Camarillo of Mexico, Frank and Amy Hernandez, Ray and Rose Martinez Hernandez, Concepcion and Adrianna Godinez Hernandez and Sammie and Rocio Godinez Hernandez, all of Bryan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Nellie Camarillo and Pricsilla and Catalino Castillo, all of Bryan; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lupe and Mary Camarillo of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Martin Camarillo of Bryan; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Linda Campos of College Station, Cruz and Joe Aleman of Waxahachie, Texas, Olivia and Joe Perez, Refugia Camarillo and Phillip Ortega, Margaret Camarillo and Norma Camarillo and Joe Ochoa, all of Bryan; her mother, Refugia Camarillo of Bryan; grandfather, Ancepion Camarillo of Gonzales, Texas; and 24 grandchildren.

Inez Cashaw Johnson
Nov. 6, 1922 — Oct. 12, 2000

HOUSTON — Services for Inez Cashaw Johnson, 77, of Houston are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Greater True Light Missionary Baptist Church in Houston.

The Rev. Willie T. Morrison of the Greater True Light Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Bryan.

Arrangements are under the direction of St. Matthews Mortuary in Houston.

Visitation will held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Daniel & Son Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Johnson died Thursday in Houston.

She was born in Robertson County and had lived in Houston for seven years. She was a member of the Greater True Light Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Johnson; a son, James Johnson; and two daughters, Nealie Johnson and Ida Johnson.

Survivors include five sons and three daughters-in-law, John and Lillie Johnson, Charles and Roslyn Johnson, Earl Johnson, Howard Johnson and Melton and Bonnie Johnson, all of Houston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Geraldine Clark and Glenda and John Baber, all of Houston; a brother, John Cashaw of Houston; two sisters, Bernice Johnson of Houston and Warlene Owens of Bryan; an aunt; 28 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Steve Frank Okonski
Aug. 29, 1916 — Oct. 14, 2000

BREMOND — Services for Steve Frank Okonski, 84, of Bremond are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond.

The Rev. Celso Yu of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bremond Funeral Home.

Mr. Okonski died Saturday in the V.A. Hospital in Temple, Texas.

He was a lifelong resident of Bremond and was a retired farmer and musician. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Society and the Knights of Columbus. He served in the infantry with the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Okonski of Bremond; two sons, John Okonski and Stephen Okonski, both of Bremond; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Dorothy and Ernest Wilganowski and Bernadine Davidson, all of Bremond, Monica and Ronald Jadlowski of Bryan, Theresa and Steve Peck of Glen Rose, Texas, and Cathy and Kevin Shields of Florida; a sister, Christine Bashinski of Houston; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond.

Effie Inez Seigler
Jan. 25, 1927 — Oct. 16, 2000

FRANKLIN — Services for Effie Inez Seigler, 73, of Franklin are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin.

Donnie Barnett of Hearne will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.

Mrs. Seigler died Monday in Hearne.

She was born in Robertson County and lived in Franklin most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin and the Franklin VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Seigler.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Seigler and Bill Merryman of Hearne; a sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Jim Peterson of Hearne; a brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Ann Becktold of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Seigler of Calvert; a brother-in-law, Willie Tydlacka of Franklin; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Richard Martin Swauger
Nov. 5, 1940 — Oct. 14, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Private memorial services for Richard Martin Swauger, 59, of North Zulch will be at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Mr. Swauger died Saturday in a Bryan hospital.

He was born in Niles, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Swauger.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Kirk Edwards of Hannibal, Mo., and Cindy and John Berry of Yoakum, Texas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman Swauger and Laura Klein of Escondido, Calif., Bob and Mary Swauger of Iowa and Carl and Shirley Swauger of California; and four grandchildren.

Minnie C. Lapaglia
July 5, 1923 — Oct. 16, 2000

Services for Minnie C. Lapaglia, 77, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bryan. The Rev. Steve Kana and Deacon Lee Cochran will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bryan.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Mrs. Lapaglia died Monday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Brazos County and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Altars Society.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Lapaglia.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony “Tony” Lapaglia Sr. of Bryan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony “Tony” and Toni Lapaglia Jr. of Bryan, and Phillip and Lorie Lapaglia of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Jerry Shoemaker of Bryan; a sister, Ann Corona of Philadelphia, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Brazos Valley.

Dulce Larissa Martinez
Oct. 26, 1999 — Oct. 15, 2000

BRENHAM — Services for Dulce Larissa Martinez, 11 months, are set for 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham. The Rev. Juan Maravilla will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Brenham.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Dulce died Sunday at her home.

She was born in Brenham and was baptized in St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her parents, Debbie Ann Bermea and Jose Angel Martinez, Jr. of Brenham; four sisters, Cassandra Graciano, Ayisha Martinez, Keisha Martinez and Jessica Martinez, all of Brenham; her grandparents, Jose Angel Martinez, Sr. and Maria Gallegos, both of Mexico; Janie DeLeon of Victoria and David Garcia of Dallas; and numerous relatives.
