BRENHAM — Services for Charles Travis Starnes, 72, of Brenham are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham. The Rev. William Holzer and Matthew Jacobs will officiate. Burial will be in Bagdad Cemetery near Leander, Texas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Mr. Starnes died Wednesday at Colton Inn in College Station.
He was born in Crowell, Texas. Mr. Starnes graduated from Crowell High School and Southern Methodist University. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.
He was an accountant for Texas Instruments and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham.
Survivors include his wife, LaVerne M. Starnes of Brenham; a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn Thomas Starnes and Connie Stokes of Jacksonville, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Ronda Kane and Kevin of Cedar Park, Texas; three brothers, Horace Lee Starnes of Sherman, Texas, Willard Wilson Starnes of Texarkana, Texas, and James Alvin Starnes of Littlefield, Texas; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Joseph Bernard Peloso

SAN DIEGO — A memorial service for Joseph Bernard Peloso, 56, of San Diego is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sharer Sterling Skivolocke Funeral Home in Alliance, Ohio.
Mr. Peloso died Nov. 8 in San Diego.
He was born in Alliance. He previously lived in College Station and was employed by the Ocean Drilling Program at Texas A&M University.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Gazella Peloso of Alliance; three sisters, Elsie Falcone of Deerfield, Ohio, and Diana Priselac and Loretta Offenbecher, both of Alliance; a friend, Victor Hong of San Diego; caregiver, Eileen Beck; and his extended family and friends of the Ocean Drilling Program.

Henry Chaddock

ROCKDALE — Services for Henry Chaddock, 86, of Rockdale are set for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. The Rev. Weldon Belew will officiate. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Chaddock died Wednesday at his home.
He was born in Milam County. He was an engineer and fabricator with EFCO in Houston. He was a member of Rockdale Christian Church and a veteran of World War II. He received the good conduct medal and three bronze stars, two in France and one in Austria.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alcie Lee Holliman.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas E. and Barbara Chaddock of Pasadena, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jerrell Dean and Jerry Parkerson of Spain, Kathryn J. and Charles Bryant of Dallas and Judy E. and Randy Robbins of Rockdale; one sister, Bertie Cotton of Nacogdoches, Texas; one cousin; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Catherine Pollock

HOUSTON — Services were held for Catherine Pollock, 68, of Houston. Arrangements were under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Ms. Pollock died Nov. 7 in Anderson.
She was born in Dumbarton, Scotland. She was a secretary for The Methodist Hospital in Houston.

She was born in Milam County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gause Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Watson Hubert Shafer of Franklin; a daughter, Elaine Baumann of Hearne, six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Opal Louise Stewart

FRANKLIN — Services for Opal Louise Stewart, 80, of Franklin are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Franklin.

Mrs. Stewart died Thursday in Franklin.
She was born in Moorehead, Ky. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Franklin for the past 19 years. She was a Mormon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Stewart.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Tiny and Mike Byer and Stinker Stewart of Franklin; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David Rynning Bowers

Memorial services for David Rynning Bowers, 78, of College Station are set for 4 p.m. Saturday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in College Station.
The Rev. Erich Schaefer of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bono Cemetery in Bono, Texas.

Dr. Bowers died Thursday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Peoria, Ill., and had lived in College Station for 36 years. He retired in 1987 as Professor Emeritus with the Texas A&M University Journalism Department after 23 years of service. He previously served as editor of newspapers in Sunnyvale, Calif., Pocatello, Idaho, and Delaware County, Pa. He served in the U.S. Army and received bachelor and master degrees from the University of Missouri and his doctorate from the University of Iowa. He was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Bowers of College Station; three sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Veronica Cuadra Bowers and Scott and Stephanie Bowers, all of Plano, Texas; and Dr. Daniel and Shannon Bowers of Dallas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Ellison Clayton of North Aurora, Ill., and Lois and Hugh Warren of South Bend, Ind.; and a grandson.

Mr. Caldwell died Wednesday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He had lived in Texas for 23 years and was a retired machinist. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Brazos Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Jo Caldwell of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Debbie Caldwell of Yorktown, Ind.; two step-sons, Frank Davis and Mark Davis, both of Fort Worth; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Townsend and John Wisehart of Muncie, Ind.; three stepdaughters, Katherine Noel of Midland, Texas, Patricia Hall of Alpine, Utah, and Lee Abrams of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 14 step-grandchildren.
Walter Travis Ivy

RUSK, Texas — Services for Walter Travis Ivy, 53, of Caldwell are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Maydelle, Texas.

Mr. Ivy died Monday in Caldwell.
He was born in Maydelle and had been a long-time resident of Caldwell. He owned and operated Ivy’s Hot Oil Company in Caldwell and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maydelle.
Survivors include his mother, Veruci Pauline Ivy of Maydelle; six brothers, Charles Ray Ivy and Jesse Norman Ivy, both of Lindale, Texas, Alvin Lee Ivy of Mansfield, Texas, Herman Frank Ivy of Mineola, Texas, Melton Pat Ivy of Maydelle and Michael Ivy of Palestine, Texas; four sisters, Luana Watson of Arlington, Texas, Mary Pauline Cohagen of Troup, Texas, Joy Fay Davis of Caldwell, La., and Katie Lou McKinney of Baldwin, Kan.; an aunt; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was born in Bryan and was a retired nurse. She attended Texas Southern University, Tennessee State and the U.C.L.A. Nursing School. She was a member of Castle Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, William A. Harnsberry, Harold K. Harnsberry, Kenneth D. Harnsberry and Michael A. Harnsberry, all of Dallas; and six grandchildren.
