FRANKLIN — Services for Dorothy Nell Anderson, 60, of Franklin are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at McCauley Funeral Chapel in Franklin.

Will Odom of Normangee will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Anderson died Wednesday in College Station.

She was born in Bastrop, Texas, and was a resident of Franklin for 5 1/2 years. She was a homemaker and a substitute teacher and formerly lived in Hurst, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Normangee.

Survivors include her husband, Carrol G. Anderson; a daughter, Sheri Anderson; a son, Michael Anderson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary and Gene Stone and Billie Young; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnnie and Janna Summersill and Charles and Vicki Summersill; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret Grace Ashe
April 13, 1906 — Nov. 29, 2000

HEARNE — Services for Margaret Grace Ashe, 94, of Calvert are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Calvert.

The Rev. Jeff Riley of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.

Mrs. Ashe died Wednesday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Jasper, Ala., and lived in Calvert for 51 years. She was a member of the Gold Medallion Club in Bryan and the First Baptist Church in Bryan.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bennie William and Faye Angwin of Odenville, Ala.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Evelyn Grace Seigler and Alice Ruth Mears, both of Calvert, and Betty Ann and Edward E. Blackburn of Porter, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Adams of Orlando, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Jimmie Howard Hennessy
Feb. 24, 1939 — Nov. 29, 2000

BAY CITY, Texas — Services for Jimmie Howard Hennessy, 61, of Bay City are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Family Worship Center in Bay City.

The Rev. Joseph Roach will officiate. Burial will be in Cedarville Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bay City Funeral Home in Bay City.

Mr. Hennessy died Wednesday in Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City.

He was born in Ida, La. He was retired from the Bay City plant of the Celanese Chemical Co., where he worked for more than 28 years.

Survivors include his wife, Jade Lee Hennessy of Bay City; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lyia and Gordon Winfrey of Bay City, Laurie and Alan Fritsche of Bryan, Lynne and Christopher Williams of Vidor, Texas, and Leanne and Douglas Wells of Missouri City, Texas; and nine grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Family Worship Center in Bay City.

Ollie May Myles
Oct. 29, 1927 — Nov. 27, 2000

CENTERVILLE — Services for Ollie Mae Myles, 73, of Centerville are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Evans Chapel Church of God in Christ in Centerville.

The Rev. C.D. Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Spiller Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to the time of the processional to the church at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

Mrs. Myles died Tuesday in a Marshall, Texas, hospital.

She was born in Hubbard, Texas, and had lived in Centerville for 10 years. She formerly lived in Dallas. She was a member of the Evans Chapel Church of God in Christ.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Lyddric and Rose Lotts of Centerville and Thaddeus and Lisa Raven of Arlington, Texas; four brothers, Milton Davis of Normangee, Johnny Ree Lotts of Midway, Joe Frank Butler and Eugene Butler, both of Houston; three sisters, Angie Lacey and Ruby Evans, both of Centerville, and Merlean Holt of Dallas; and seven grandchildren.

Lillian F. Owens
Oct. 17, 1906 — Nov. 17, 2000

ROCKDALE — Graveside services for the Rev. Lillian F. Owens, 94, of Yakima, Wash., are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Rev. Owens died Nov. 17 in Yakima.

She was born in Kentucky and had lived in Yakima for six years. She was a minister and helped build and pastored at the Lexington Faith Temple for ten years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Ray J. Owens.

Survivors include two daughters, Lillian R. Nordberg and Billie Owens, both of Yakima; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Guelma Lee Parrish
Feb. 23, 1907 — Nov. 29, 2000

GIDDINGS, Texas — Services for Guelma Lee Parrish, 93, of Ledbetter, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Giddings Church of Christ in Giddings.

Ricky Spacek will officiate. Burial will be in the Giddings City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

Mrs. Parrish died Wednesday at her home.

She was born in Lamesa, Texas, and had lived in Ledbetter since 1958. She formerly lived in Pampa, Texas, and Houston. She was a member of the Lawndale Church of Christ in Houston and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. “Pete” Parrish.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Hudetts of Ledbetter and Betty and Dan Hart of Houston; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Lee of Dell City, Texas; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lewis F. Todd
Feb. 17, 1933 — Nov. 29, 2000

Graveside services for Lewis F. Todd, 67, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with full military honors.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station.

Lt. Col. Todd died Wednesday in St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center in Bryan.

He was born in Harlingen, Texas, and lived in College Station since 1986. He was retired after 21 years in the U.S. Air Force. He also managed rental property in Donna, Texas.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master’s in business administration from USC. He was a 3rd degree Master Mason and was a member of Masonic Lodge 1136 in Donna. He was also a life member of the NRA and the Elks Lodge 2057 in Weslaco, Texas. He was a Presbyterian.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Todd of College Station; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis Allen and Alma Todd of Magnolia, Texas, and Stanford Carroll and Peggy Todd of Burnet, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan Catherine and Jeff Bowman of Beaver Creek, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

Billie Jean Thomason
Nov. 7, 1931 — Nov. 29, 2000

Services for Billie Jean Thomason, 69, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

The Rev. Tim Owens of the First Baptist Church in Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thomason died Wednesday at St. Joseph Manor.

She was a lifelong resident of Bryan and was a homemaker. She was a past member of the Women’s Club and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Thomason.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Bill Fallwell of Bryan; and a grandson.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Martha M. ‘Cookie’ Edwards
May 19, 1924 — Nov. 29, 2000

Mrs. Martha M. “Cookie” Edwards, 76, of College Station died Wednesday at her home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Dec. 16 and 17 at their home.

Mrs. Edwards died Wednesday at her home.

She was born in Stewart County, Tenn., and lived in College Station since 1985. She served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer with Hospice Brazos Valley and the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Phillips Garden Club in Borger, Texas, and the Oaks Garden Club and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

Survivors include her husband, J.R. Edwards of College Station; three daughters, Lynn Charpentier of Ashland, Va., Julia Ann Lisec of Alamogordo, N.M., and Karen Smith of Amarillo; a sister, Gertrude Morrison of Nashville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

Brother Joseph Palazzo, O.M.I.
July 10, 1908 — Nov. 30, 2000

Brother Joseph Palazzo, O.M.I., was born on July 10, 1908, in Bryan, Texas, to Charles Palazzo and Frances Marino Palazzo. Brother Palazzo died on November 30, 2000, at the Oblate Madonna Residence, San Antonio, Texas, where he had been in residence since his retirement in 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Luke and Steve Palazzo; and one sister, Lucy Basco.

Brother Joe, as he was affectionately known, attended public grammar school and high school in Bryan. On April 13, 1936, he entered St. Peter’s Novitiate in Mission, Texas. He professed First Vows on April 14, 1937, and Perpetual Vows on April 14, 1944, at St. Peter’s Novitiate.

His assignments in ministry included St. Anthony’s Junior Seminary, St. Mary’s Church, DeMazenod Scholasticate (now Oblate School of Theology) and St. Joseph’s Retreat House (now Oblate Renewal Center), all in San Antonio. He also served at the Novitiate in Mission, Texas, and St. Louis of France Cathedral in New Orleans, La.
Brother Joe is affectionately remembered in his Oblate community and by the many friends who sought his prayer and counsel.

Rosary will be recited Saturday, December 2, 2000, at 2 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Memorial Chapel at Oblate School of Theology. Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately after the rosary service, with burial in the Oblate cemetery .
Survivors include one brother, Charlie Palazzo; five sisters, Camilla Ramirez, Nita Patranella, Betty Duchmasclo, Mary Boultinghouse and Janice Ponzica-Parr; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Danny Neal Williams
July 6, 1953 — Nov. 28, 2000

Services for Danny Neal Williams, 47, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Christopher Carlson, chaplain of the 420th Engineer Brigade, will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery with military honors.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mr. Williams died Tuesday in College Station Medical Center.

He was born in Excelsior Springs, Mo., and had lived in Bryan for 2 1/2 years. He served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant assigned to HHC 420th Engineer Brigade at the Moore Memorial Reserve in Bryan and was a veteran of the Vietname War.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis S. Williams of Bryan; a son, Colby Williams of Bryan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jessica G. Williams of Bryan and Carrie Marie and Marcus Chapman of Salsbury, Md.; a brother, Dennis Williams of Kansas City, Mo.; his mother, Ozella Daiprai of Edwards, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

James N. Stokes
Aug. 10, 1948 — Nov. 30, 2000

Services for James N. Stokes, 52, of Bryan are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Lee Cochran, deacon of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mr. Stokes died Thursday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Dallas and had lived in Bryan for most of his life. He was a construction inspector for the Texas A&M Physical Plant. He was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan and the National Institute of Civil Engineering Technology. He was a third-degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Stokes of Bryan; a daughter, Jaime Stokes of Houston; and his mother, Agnes Stokes of Bryan.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
