A private service for Mary Elizabeth Garrison, 73, of College Station will be at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station.
Mrs. Garrison died Monday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Baltimore.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Dobson of College Station and Lee Atwell of Austin; and four grandchildren.

Alfred Minor, Jr.
Jan. 30, 1908 - Dec. 2, 2000

BEDIAS — Services for Alfred Minor Jr., 92, of Bedias are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Greater First Baptist Church in Anderson. The Rev. E.P. Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery in Anderson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Navasota. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Minor died Saturday. He was born in Grimes County. He had been a farmer. He was a member of the Greater First Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Willie L. Nichols, two daughters, Mattie B. Smith and Sara Irving; a brother and sister-in-law, Ira P. and Darcell Minor, 34 grandchildren, 102 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.

Walter Williams
May 31, 1929 - Dec. 5, 2000

NAVASOTA — Services for Walter Williams, 61, of Navasota are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Lee Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Navasota. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Navasota. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at Jones Funeral Home. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Lee Tabernacle United Methodist Church.

Mr. Williams died Tuesday at Grimes St. Joseph Hospital. He was born in Grimes County. He was a member of the Christian Home Workers and was a veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from George Washington High School in Navasota. He was a member of the Lee Tabernacle United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Melvin and Carol Travis of Madison, Ill., a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and William Barnett of Upper Marlbors, Md., his mother, and Onella Travis of Navasota.

William Alexander “Bill” McIntyre
Feb. 21, 1954 - Dec. 5, 2000

A memorial service for William Alexander “Bill” McIntyre, 46, of Bryan and formerly of West Virginia will be held at a later date.

Talbott Funeral Home in Belington, W. Va. is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. McIntyre died Tuesday at Houston Diagnostic Center.

He was born in Point Pleasant, N.J. Mr. McIntrye was a 1972 graduate of the Philip Barbour High School. He was formerly employed by the Kelly Foundry in Elkins, W.Va. and the Amerimax Corporation in Bryan. In later years he attended the Central Baptist Church in Elkins.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Ann of Elkins, W.Va., his mother, Helen McIntyre of West Virginia; two daughters, Valerie and Lisa McIntyre, both of Elkins; two sisters, Jeannie Findley of Hawaii and Jackie McIntyre of Charleston, W.Va.

Mack Embra, Jr.
Feb. 25, 1933 - Dec. 5, 2000

FRANKLIN — Services for Mack Embra, Jr., 67, of Franklin are set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at North New Hope Baptist Church in Franklin. The Rev. Odell Webster will officiate. Burial will be in North and South Cemetery in Franklin.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Jackson Mortuary Chapel in Cameron and on Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m at the church.

Mr. Embra died Tuesday at College Station Medical Center.

He was born in New Baden.

He was retired from the Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Eddie Dwayne and Patricia Embra of Bryan; his mother, Rachel Embra of Franklin; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Earline and Van Spivey of Haynesville, La., Laura and Elmer Wilson of Tahoka, Texas, Rachel and J.C. Maxwell, Deborah Washington, Gloria Dean Embra, all of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Aline Embra of Franklin; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Milady Pomykal Kamas
Nov. 10, 1905 - Dec. 6, 2000

BRENHAM — Services for Milady Pomykal Kamas, 95, of Brenham are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Brethren Church in Wesley. The Rev. Henry Beseda and Rev. Nello Strickland will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Mrs. Kamas died Wednesday at Trinity Care Center in Brenham.

She was born in Rosebud, Texas. Mrs. Kamas was a life member of Wesley Brethren Church where she taught Sunday school for 30 years and was a last living charter member of the Christian Sisters. She was also a member of Mutual Aid of Wesley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Kamas.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Mary Lou Kamas of Robinson, Leroy Kamas of Wesley, Evelyn Kamas of Brenham; a daughter, Vlasta Baldwin of Texas City, Texas; two sisters, Mary Donath of Rosebud, Willie Mae Pomykal of Waco; sisters-in-law, Ruth Pomykal and Mary Pomykal, both of Rosebud; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Memorials may be made to Wesley Cemetery Fund at Wesley Brethren Church, 7660 Kamas Rd., Brenham, 77833.

Edmund Carl Lemke
Feb. 8, 1913 - Dec. 7, 2000

BRENHAM — Services for Edmund Carl Lemke, 87, of Brenham are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. Pastor Virgil Pecht and Rev. Arlyn Hausmann will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The body will lie in state in Lamprecht Janssen Funeral Home in Yorktown from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Westside Cemetery in Yorktown with the Rev. Arlyn Hausmann officiating.Mr. Lemke died Thursday at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham.He was born in Yorktown, Texas. He was the owner of Quality Sign Service in Lufkin, Texas. He had been a charter member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lufkin. He then moved to Brenham where he was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, the Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, German Club, Polka Dots Dance Club and Square Dance Club.

Survivors include his wife, Wildine Jacob Lemke of Brenham; two sons and daughters-in-law, Newton and Anita Lemke of Lufkin, Karl and Ursula Lemke of Humble, Texas, a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Joel Bennett of Brenham; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill or the Sons of Hermann.

Carrie Mae Green Hunter
Dec. 27, 1918 - Dec. 3, 2000

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Services for Carrie Mae Green Hunter, 81, of Kansas City are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at New Zion Baptist Church in Bryan. the Rev. Fred G. Ford will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Bryan.

Mrs. Hunter died Sunday in Kansas City, Mo.

She was born in Leon County. She was a member of the St. Stephen’s Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Harrel Johnson, Sr. and Myrtle Johnson of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Joe Green of Dallas; two sisters, Lillian Campbell and Christine Emanuel, both of Bryan; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Atlene Marie Hodges
July 2, 1927 - Dec. 6, 2000

Services for Atlene Marie Hodges, 73, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Stearne Chapel A.M.E Church in Bryan. The Rev. Bobby Sonier will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan. An awake service will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hodges died Wednesday at her home in Bryan.

She was a member of the New Life Seventh Day Adentist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. E.S. Hodges, Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Edward S. Hodges, III of Bryan and Reginald E. Hodges of Austin; three daughters, Wendy Conley, Charlene Harris, and Barbara Murray, all of Austin; two brothers, Milton Hall of San Francisco, Calif. and Hollie Hall of Ceves, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, and ix great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Brazos County Hospice.

Fannie W. Johnson
May 26, 1914 - Dec. 4, 2000

MIDWAY — Services for Fannie W. Johnson, 86, of Midway are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Church of Christ in Midway. Brother Howard Watson will officiate. Burial will be in Tanyard Cemetery in Midway.

Mrs. Johnson died Monday at Riverwood Nursing Home in Madisonville.

She was born in Tanyard, Texas.

Survivors include her sons, Herman Johnson Jr. of Grand Prairie, Texas, Lee Johnson Sr., Charles E. Johnson, both of Fort Worth, Joe Allen Johnson of Malakoff, Texas, Marcellous Johnson of Grand Prairie; daughters, Lora J. Allen and Louise Wright, both of Fort Worth, Hazel Brown, Ada Goffney and Callie Walker, all of Midway; 45 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and friends.

John W. Thomas
March 21, 1932 - Dec. 6, 2000

JEWETT — Services for John W. Thomas, 68, of Jewett, are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Little Flock Baptist Church on FM 1512. Rev. Barron Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ricks Funeral Home in Jewett.

Mr. Thomas died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

He was born in Limestone County.

He was a retired cattle rancher.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Nell Thomas of Jewett; one son, Rick Thomas of Jewett; a sister, Verue Muirheid of Jewett; two brothers, Doug Thomas of Jewett and Troy Thomas of Yoakum, Texas; and one grandson.

Robert Lee Cain, Jr.
Dec. 6, 1947 - Dec. 6, 2000

Services for Robert Lee Cain, Jr., 53, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Pool Chapel Baptist Church in Madisonville. The Rev. Cedric Rouse will officiate. Burial will be in Westend Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

Mr. Cain died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.He was born in Madisonville.

He was a laborer.

Survivors include his wife, Novella Cain of Houston; two sons, James Cain of Beaumont and Marcus Cain of Bryan; two daughters, Latanya Cain Edward and Kenya Nicole Cain, both of Houston; four brothers, Anthony Cain of Madisonville, Olan Cain of Austin, Floyd Craig of Fort Worth, Lloyd Craig of Fort Worth; six sisters, Doris Nellums of Madisonville, Jennie Washington of Killeen, Texas, Ella Bowman of Houston, Ruby Kennbrew of Humble, Texas, Ann Craig of Fort Worth, Betty Williams of Madisonville; and three grandchildren.

Bruce Gammon
Sept. 10, 1938 - Dec. 7, 2000

Services for Bruce Gammon, 62, of College Station are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan. The Rev. John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, Okla. on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Mr. Gammon died Thursday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in Cordell, Okla. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Physical Chemistry at Oklahoma State University. He worked for the U.S. Department of Energy in Bartlesville, Okla. before moving to College Station. He worked at Texas A&M University in the Thermodynamics Research Center and the Department of Meteorology until he retired in August 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Gammon of College Station; a son, Bryan Gammon of Bryan; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and John Nielson-Gammon of Bryan; a brother, L.M. Gammon of Seattle, ; three sisters, Patricia Gordon of Oklahoma City, Janice Romine of San Diego, and Rebecca Blevins of Oklahoma City,

Eris Potts
Oct. 31, 1900 - Dec. 6, 2000

Services for Eris Potts, 100, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at A&M Church of Christ. Mr. Bob Davidson will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.Mrs. Potts died Wednesday in Bryan.She was born in Madisonville.

She was a retired school teacher who taught English, French and Latin. She was a charter member of the A&M Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Potts.Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Molly Potts of College Station, William E. “Gene” and Barbara Potts of Denver; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
