BEDIAS — Services for Claude Beacleay Jr., 58, of Bedias are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bedias Baptist Church in Bedias.

The Rev. Jerald Brown of Bedias Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bedias Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Bedias.

Mr. Beacleay died Thursday.

He was born in Grimes County and was retired after 18 years with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Beacleay of Conroe, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Lorie and Theodore Coody of Austin; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Chad and Angela Beacleay of Willis, Texas, and Beth Beacleay of Conroe; his mother, Gladys Beacleay of Bedias; two brothers, Willy Beacleay of Huntsville, Texas, and John Wayne Beacleay of Ocala, Fla.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sue and Michael Ellis of Iola and Elizabeth Gibson of Pearland, Texas; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Joseph Larry Burd
Sept. 9, 1964 — Dec. 6, 2000

CAMERON — Services for Joseph Larry Burd, 36, of Cedar Hill, Texas, are set for 1 p.m. Sunday in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron.

The Rev. Ed Jennings will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Burd died Wednesday at his home.

He was born in Cameron and was a sales clerk at an auto parts store in Dallas. He graduated from Rockdale High School in 1982, where he played football, and attended Southwest Texas University in San Marcos.

Survivors include his wife, Renea Burd of Cedar Hill; two sons, Michael Lance Burd and Larry Burd, both of Arizona; a daughter, Tyler Burd of Cedar Hill; his mother, Nancy Owen Burd of Florence, Texas; a brother, Michael Allen Burd of Florence; a sister, Amy Burd Fine of Austin; and grandmother, Leigh Owen of Rockdale.

Willie Mae Haddox
Oct. 5, 1911 — Dec. 7, 2000

ROCKDALE — Services for Willie Mae Haddox, 89, of Milano are set for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

The Rev. Joe Bailey of Liberty Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Milano Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Haddox died Thursday in the Cameron Nursing Center in Cameron.

She was born in Ballinger, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of Milano. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Milano. She was a former secretary and treasurer of the Milano Volunteer Fire Department and Milano Senior Citizens and was an election judge in Milano for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Oliver Haddox.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Queena Rae and Kent Thurman and Bobbie Ann and Bill Eiland, all of Milano; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Edward Lee Herring
Nov. 2, 1918 — Dec. 7, 2000

FORT WORTH — Memorial services for Edward Lee Herring, 82, of Fort Worth are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Fort Worth.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Oregon Memorial Cemetery in Lexington, Miss.

Mr. Herring died Thursday at his home.

He was born in Lexington, Miss., and had lived in Fort Worth since 1958. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He managed cattle ranches in Brazil for International Packers/Swift Meat Company and introduced Santa Gertrudis cattle into Brazil. After moving to Fort Worth, he was employed by Frank Kent Cadillac as a salesman for 29 years. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of Fort Worth.

Survivors include his wife, Polly Herring; three daughters, Gaye Reed and Sally Birthisel, both of Fort Worth, and Mary Elizabeth Herring of College Station; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Cynthia Herring of Eaton Rapids, Mich., and Martin and Gay Herring of Fort Worth; three sisters, Hilda Ginn and Edith Stewart, both of Lexington, and Kathleen Lauderdale of Irvine, Calif.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew’s Discretionary Fund of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 917 Lamar, Fort Worth, Texas 76102.

Arnold D. McDonald Sr.
Jan. 19, 1912 — Dec. 8, 2000

Services for Arnold D. McDonald Sr., 88, of Bryan are set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan.

The Rev. David Green of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rest-Ever Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan and from 1:30 p.m. to the time of the services Sunday at the church.

Mr. McDonald died Friday in Sherwood Health Care Center.

He was born in Montgomery County, Texas, and had lived in Bryan for 22 years. He worked for the Tennessee Natural Gas Transmission Company for 25 years and was a member of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cut-N-Shoot, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian McDonald of Bryan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Derrell and Shirley McDonald of Athens, Texas, and Ronnie and Phyllis McDonald of Cleveland, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Freddie Moody of Bryan; a sister, Emma Freeman of New Caney, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

Eris Gustavus Potts
Oct. 31, 1900 - Dec. 6, 2000

Services for Eris Gustavus Potts, 100, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at A&M Church of Christ.

Mr. Bob Davidson will officiate. Burial will be in the College Station Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Potts died Wednesday in Bryan.

She was born in Madisonville. She was a retired school teacher who taught English, French and Latin. She was a charter member of the A&M Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Potts.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Molly Potts of College Station and William E. “Gene” and Barbara Potts of Denver; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Winnie Mae Burk

April 10, 1923 — Dec. 8, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Winnie Mae Burk, 77, of Texarkana, Texas, are set for 2 p.m. Monday at J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Ray Hilliard will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery near Normangee.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burk died Friday in Texarkana.

She was a volunteer for the senior citizen’s center in Kerrville, Texas.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Wendell Mobley of Texarkana and Pat and Kent Chaddick of Baytown, Texas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ron Brundige of San Diego, Calif., and Andrew and Verdonna Brundige of Dallas; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Sonny Benskin of Kennard, Texas; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Ann Burk of Santa Fe, Texas; a sister-in-law, Marie Waller of Hollister, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Zanelle James Dotson

June 18, 1910 — Dec. 8, 2000

HEARNE — Services for Zanelle James Dotson, 90, of Hearne are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hearne.

Charles Renfroe and Clay Renfroe will officiate. Burial will be in Suggs Cemetery in Robertson County.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne.

Mrs. Dotson died Friday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

She was born in Camp Creek and was a lifelong resident of Hearne. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Hearne Restoration Branch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfa Dotson.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James Alfa and Carol Dotson of Corsicana, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Nella June and Charles Renfroe of Hearne; three sisters, Pauline Howell of Norwood, N.C., Frances Petteway of Petteway, Texas, and Modell Tacy of Independence, Mo.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Adele Frazer Gooding

April 29, 1923 — Dec. 8, 2000

Services for Adele Frazer Gooding, 77, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station.

The Rev. Terry Teykl will officiate. Burial will be in College Station Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to the time of the services Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gooding died Friday at her home.

She was born in El Paso, Texas, and had lived in College Station for 43 years. She worked with the A&M Photography Studio and was an artist, photographer and homemaker. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and helped in the establishment of OPAS at the Texas A&M Memorial Student Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Gooding.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Christelle and Bob Segulja of Houston; a son, Guy Gooding of Dallas; a sister-in-law, Sister Mary Adrienne of San Rafael, Calif.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Dale W. Kilpatrick

Aug. 17, 1938 — Dec. 8, 2000

ROCKDALE — Services for Dale W. Kilpatrick, 62, of Blue, Texas, are set for 11 a.m. Monday at the Blue United Methodist Church in Blue.

The Rev. David White of the Blue United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Centerpoint Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Kilpatrick died Friday in Johns Community Hospital in Taylor, Texas.

He was born and raised in Blue and had returned to Blue three years ago. He was a former resident of Waco and was a territorial manager with Gulf Oil and Chevron for 36 years and retired in 1996. He was a member of the Lexington Masonic Lodge and Lions Club and was vice president of the Centerpoint Cemetery Association. He was also a member of the Blue United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kilpatrick of Blue; a son and daughter-in-law, Kyle Dale and Susan Kilpatrick of Waco; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carrie Lee and Randy Hughes of Waxahachie, Texas, and Shelly Kay Bell of Waco; two brothers, Herschel Kilpatrick of Devine, Texas, and Kenneth Kilpatrick of Waelder, Texas; a sister, Rita McMillan of Mesquite, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Dorothy A. Ruzicka

Oct. 24, 1925 — Dec. 8, 2000

FRANKLIN — Services for Dorothy A. Ruzicka, 75, of Franklin are set for 4 p.m. Monday at the McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.

Burial will be in Elliott Cemetery in the Elliott community.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ruzicka died Friday in Bryan.

She was born in Los Angeles and had lived in Franklin for eight years. She formerly lived in Fort Worth, where she worked as a bookkeeper for State Reserve Life for 35 years until her retirement.

Survivors include her husband, George Ruzicka of Franklin; a brother, Jack Allenby of Inglewood, Calif.; an aunt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
