CALDWELL — Services for Mary Oldham, 93, of Caldwell are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Caldwell. The Rev. Fred Harrison will officiate. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery in Caldwell.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Mrs. Oldham died Sunday.

She was born in Caldwell and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons and a daughter-in-law, James R. and Zula Ellis of Caldwell and Tommy Lee Oldham of Bryan; one sister, Rosie Duffie of Virginia; 35 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

Bro. Lacy Lee Washington Jr.
Jan. 16, 1916 — Dec. 13, 2000

GIDDINGS, Texas — Services for Bro. Lacy Lee Washington Jr., 84, of Giddings are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Church of Christ in Midway. Bro. Waydell Nixon will officiate. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

Mr. Washington died Wednesday at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

He was born in Midway. He was a retired laborer and a member of Southend Church of Christ in Giddings.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ester L. and Myron Sheppard and Eula and Charles Leggett, all of Bryan; a brother, M.C. Washington of Levelland, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Albina Christine Yeager
March 29, 1917 — Dec. 13, 2000

Services for Albina Christine Yeager, 83, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Church of Christ. Rev. Duane DeWald will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel and 1 p.m. to service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Yeager died Wednesday at Sherwood Health Care.

She was born in Benchley. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Faith United Church of Christ in Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Yeager.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Janell and Robert Nelson of Spring, Texas, Sharon and Brett McCormick of Conroe, Texas, Geneva and Bill Watkins of Bryan and Debbie and Ben Goswick of San Antonio; one sister, Emily Janocek of Corpus Christi; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Thomas George Haynes
June 6, 1947 — Dec. 13, 2000

WICHITA FALLS — Graveside services for Thomas George Haynes, 53, of Wichita Falls are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Hopewell Cemetery near Normangee. Bro. Robert Shipp will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Mr. Haynes died Wednesday at a hospital in Wichita Falls.

He was born in Perth Amboy, N.J.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lisa Haynes of Richardson, Texas; his father, Gerard Haynes of Perth Amboy; his mother, Ruth Haynes of Wichita Falls; his brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Dianna Haynes of League City, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and George Pirmann of Corpus Christi; one grandaughter; and numerous other relatives.

Jack Lee Crane
Nov. 11, 1929 — Dec. 12, 2000

MINERVA, Texas — Services for Jack Lee Crane, 71, of Minerva are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. The Rev. Bob Hendrick of Meadowbrook Baptist Church will officiate.

Mr. Crane died Tuesday at his home in Minerva.

He was born in Laredo and lived in Minerva for 53 years. He worked for Alcoa in Rockdale for 39 years before retiring in 1992.

Mr. Crane was a member of the Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rockdale and the Rockdale Masonic Lodge No. 414AF&AM. He served four years in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Crane of Minerva; two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Peggy Crane of Rockdale and Keith and Patsy Crane of The Woodlands, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Marie and David Glynn of Hallettsville, Texas; a brother, Charles Crane of California; a sister, Rose Mary Reinke of Oklahoma; and three grandchildren.

Keith L. Peterson
Sept. 6, 1931 — Dec. 14, 2000

Services for Keith L. Peterson, 69, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Rev. John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Peterson died Thursday in Houston.

He was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and had lived in Bryan for 17 years. He formerly lived in Venezuela and Louisiana and was retired from the oil business. He was owner/operator of PM Lube, Meineke Muffler and Ryder Truck Rentals.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Peterson of Bryan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Grant and Charlotte Peterson of Conroe, Texas, and Craig and Karen Peterson of College Station; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Chris Bower of Brooks, Alberta, Canada, and Merella and Anthony Merulla of Wilmington, Del.; and nine grandchildren.

Johnnie R. Howard
Oct. 10, 1910 — Dec. 15, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Graveside services for Johnnie R. Howard, 90, of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Monday at the Madisonville City Cemetery.

The Rev. John Crocker will officiate.

Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville and visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to the time of the services Monday at the cemetery .

Mrs. Howard died Friday at Crestview Retirement Community.

She was born in Minco, Okla., and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.E. Howard, and a daughter, Ann Elliot.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, J.L. and Polly Howard of Hilltop Lakes; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Eva Irene T. Joy
Sept. 30, 1917 — Dec. 14, 2000

HOPE, Ark. — Services for Eva Irene T. Joy, 83, of Hope are set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Herndon Funeral Home Chapel in Hope.

The Rev. Leslie Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Joy died Thursday in Hope.

She was born in Iola and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Joy.

Survivors include five sons, M. Clifton Joy Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., James E. Joy of Hempstead, Texas, John W. Joy and David R. Joy, both of Patmos, Ark., and Robert E. Joy of Marlow, Okla.; a daughter, Elizabeth Joy Waller of Windom, Texas; two brothers, Durwood Thompson of Bryan and Morriss E. Thompson of Dallas; a sister, Vera T. Faulkner of Bryan; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

William Eldon Mays
Dec. 9, 1925 — Dec. 14, 2000

CAMERON — Services for William Eldon Mays, 75, of Cameron are set for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron.

The Rev. Dan Darby will officiate. Burial will be in Hope Lutheran Memorial Park in Buckholts.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Mays died Thursday at his home.

He was born in Paris, Texas, and was a retired insurance adjuster with the Ranger Insurance Co. in Houston. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a longtime member of the Cameron Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mays.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Henderson of Rockdale; a brother, Weldon Dallas Mays of Smithville; and two grandchildren.

Monte Wayne Ward
April 13, 1925 — Dec. 14, 2000

Services for Monte Wayne Ward, 75, of College Station are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station.

Burial will be in College Station Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to the time of the services Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ward died Thursday in College Station Medical Center.

He was born in El Dorado, Okla., and was a member of Millican Baptist Church. He was a master chief petty officer and retired from the U.S. Navy in 1967. He served in World War II, the Korean War and two tours of the Vietname War. He was a member of the VFW and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He received numerous citations and awards during his military career and retired from Sabine Towing and Transportation in Groves, Texas, in 1992.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ward.

Survivors include five sons and four daughters-in-law, James and Cindy Staples and George Ward, all of College Station, Monte II and Patricia Ward of San Diego, Calif., Jay and Sheila Ward of Nederland, Texas, and Colin and Shelby Ward of Rockwall, Texas; two daughters, Mary Staples of Rowlett, Texas, and Linda Hasten of San Diego; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Coleman and Alice Ward of Opelaka, Ala., Ray and Lois Ward of Millican, Reggie and Jane Ward of Fairfield, Texas, and Maxie and Shirley Ward of Plantersville; a sister, Maryann Isbell of Millican; 23 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to a charity of choice.

Frank W. Dublin
April 18, 1920 — Dec. 14, 2000

Services for Frank W. Dublin, 80, of College Station are set for 1 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville, Texas.

The Rev. Hank Chandler will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville.

Mr. Dublin died Thursday at his home.

He was born in Jacksonville and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

He was a graduate of the Texas military Institute and attended Southern Methodist University and Southwestern University. He was considered a “top gun” while in flight school as a member of the 46th Squadron. During World War II, he was in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He also was a flight instructor at Randolph Field.

Following his military service, Mr. Dublin became a national champion in skeet and was named to the All-American Skeet Team for two years.

After retirement from East Texas Associated Groceries, formerly known as Dublin Wholesale Grocery Co., he and his wife spent much of their time aboard their sailboat, the Wind Rose.

He was a member of the HAM Operators of the Brazos Valley and was managing partner of the Dublin Co.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Dublin of College Station; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Frank Sr. and Sue Dublin of Jacksonville, Butler Dublin of San Diego, Calif. and Robert V. and Tina Dublin of Carthage; a daughter and son-in-law, Devon and Manson “Pete” Morgan of College Station; and seven grandchildren.
