Jan. 18, 1921 — Dec. 16, 2000

CAMERON — Services for Barney D. Wilson, 79, of Cameron are set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Gause United Methodist Church in Gause.

The Rev. Kenneth Byrd will officiate. Burial will be in the Gause Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron.

Mr. Wilson died Saturday in a Cameron hospital.

He was born in Gause and was a member of the Gause United Methodist Church. He retired in 1978 from Raybestos Manhattan, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Wilson of Cameron; a half-sister, Bertha Jolly of Bryan; two sisters-in-law, Lois Pryor of Cameron and Gladys Wilson of Katy, Texas; a niece; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.

Francisco G. Rodriquez
April 2, 1917 — Dec. 19, 2000

Services for Francisco G. Rodriquez, 83, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Victor Robles of Santa Teresa Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Rodriquez died Tuesday at his home.

He was born in Cameron and had lived in Bryan since 1935. He worked as a maintenance man for Firestone Tires and was retired after 15 years as a school bus driver for Bryan ISD. He received a Safety Award for his driving record. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW Post No. 4692 in Bryan. He was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Cruz Rodriquez of Bryan; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Frank Charles Rodriquez, Eddie and Stella Rodriquez and Roy and Vera Rodriquez, all of Bryan; three daughters and sons-in-law, Stella and Louis Garcia of Bryan, Rose Ann and Bernardo Blanco of Webster, Texas, and Marti and Paul Bacon of Seabrook, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Santa Teresa Catholic Church Building Fund.

Calvin Glen McKnight
Jan. 18, 1972 — Dec. 17, 2000

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Services for Calvin Glen McKnight, 28, of College Station are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Calvary Temple in Mt. Enterprise, Texas.

The Rev. John Wahl of Calvary Temple will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Heights Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home in Nacogdoches.

Mr. McKnight died Sunday in College Station.

He was born in Nacogdoches and had lived in College Station for 10 years. He formerly lived in Mt. Enterprise and was a member of Calvary Temple. He was a student at Texas A&M University.

Survivors include his parents, Jerry G. and Albertia L. McKnight of Mt. Enterprise; a sister, Suzanne Jackson of Baytown, Texas; and his grandparents, Albert and Leoma Sieffert of Mt. Enterprise.

Memorials may be to a fund in his name at the First American Bank in Bryan.

Nora Flippin Krueger
Jan. 12, 1912 — Dec. 17, 2000

Memorial services for Nora Flippin Krueger, 88, of Bryan are set for 3 p.m. Friday at Oak Parks Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in College Station.

Moses Hendrix of the Jehovah’s Witnesses will officiate.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Krueger died Sunday in Sherwood Health Care.

She was born in the Birdsong community of Burleson County and had lived in Bryan since 1956. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wayne Krueger.

Survivors include five sons and four daughters-in-law, William W. Jr. and Ida Krueger of Bryan, Charles A. and Kris Krueger of Clayton, Calif., Gerald L. and Gretchen Krueger of Stafford, Texas, Rolf F. and Clair Krueger of Wallace, Texas, and Thomas K. Krueger of Caldwell; three daughters and a son-in-law, Marilyn Krueger, Rhonda J. Krueger and Melanie and Otto Fritz, all of Bryan; two sisters, Alma Daniels of Baytown, Texas, and Willie Lee Wiederhold of Caldwell; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center, 1318 Memorial Drive, Bryan, Texas 77802.

Rosalie Hardin
July 2, 1925 — Dec. 18, 2000

CENTERVILLE — Services for Rosalie Hardin, 75, of Jewett are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

The Rev. Billy Bob Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hardin died Monday at her home.

She was born in Fort Worth and had lived in Jewett since 1980. She formerly lived in Houston and was retired from Texas Instruments, where she worked as an electronic technician. She attended the Concord Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Urban Lee Hardin Jr.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Billie Lee Hardin and Richard Paul and Alma Hardin, all of Pasadena, Texas, and Robert David and Shirley Hardin of Winnemuca, Nev.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lois Morrissey of Jewett and Patricia Ann and Kerry Elrod of Pearland, Texas; four brothers, Roy W. Smith and Melvin D. Smith, both of Dallas, Dennis V. Smith of Wilcox, Ariz., and Leroy Smith of Jewett; four sisters, Betty Joyce Russell of Aurora, Colo., Linda Ann Colby of Irving, Texas, Beverly Jean Hicks of Austin and Nancy Pectol of Roosevelt, Utah; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Oley Ray Duncan
May 28, 1927 — Dec. 18, 2000

BAYTOWN, Texas — Services for Oley Ray Duncan, 73, of North Shore, Texas, are set for 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Channelview, Texas.

Burial will be in San Jacinto Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Santa Anna Funeral Home in Baytown.

Mr. Duncan died Monday in North Shore.

He was born in Brazos County and lived in North Shore for several years. He was a retired welder and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a mason and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Channelview, where he was also a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Duncan of North Shore; a son, Jimmy Duncan of North Shore; three daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Bobby McMillan, Toye and Dennis Elkins and Shirley and Brian Cambric, all of North Shore; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Willie Ellen and Pete Melcer of Cameron, Evelyn and Raymond McCallum and Jewell Nash, all of Tabor, Dorothy and Norris Carnes of Bryan and George Spooner of Maryland; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

William John Berger
July 7, 1949 — Dec. 19, 2000

Memorial services for William John Berger, 51, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

The Revs. Tim Green of Brazos Valley Community Church and Bob Richers of First United Methodist Church will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Mr. Berger died Tuesday at his home.

He was born in Austin and had lived in Bryan since 1983. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1972, where he was a member of the Fish Drill Team, and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve Field Artillery. After receiving a master’s degree in 1973, he went to work for Shilstone Engineering in Houston and later McClelland Engineers in Houston and Trinity Engineering in Austin. In 1982, he started Berger Materials Engineering Inc. and received his doctor of engineering degree from Texas A&M in 1990.

He helped start Boy Scout Troop 977 in Bryan and served as assistant scoutmaster and scoutmaster. He was a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers and held offices of president of the Brazos Chapter and vice president of Region II and was a member and held all offices in the Brazos Valley Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers and was an ASCE Fellow. He was named engineer of the year in 1986 and was presented the Above and Beyond award in 1995 in recognition of his volunteer service in the pre-college educational programs of TSPE and was named Distinguished Engineer of the Foundation by the Texas Engineering Foundation in 1997. He helped establish the MathCounts program in the Brazos Valley and served as coordinator of the local program for five years.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Berger of Bryan; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Kristen Berger of Houston and Mark Berger of Bryan; and a daughter, Katherine Berger of Houston.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 205 East 29th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803.

Ora Lee Blake
July 28, 1929 — Dec. 16, 2000

HOUSTON — Services for Ora Lee Blake, 71, of College Station and Houston are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Washington Chapel Baptist Church in College Station.

Burial will be in College Station Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Texas Mortuary and Cremations Service in Houston.

Mrs. Blake died Saturday.

She was born in Sealy, Texas, and considered Houston and College Station home. She was a member of the Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Houston and the Washington Chapel Baptist Church in College Station. She worked for more than 40 years for the Weingarten family in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Blake.

Survivors include a sister, Rosa Lee Mosley; a stepdaughter, Gwen Warren; a niece; a great-niece; a great-nephew; two great-great-nieces; and numerous other relatives.

Kenneth W. Murdock
Dec. 14, 1928 — Dec. 19, 2000

ARLINGTON, Texas — Services for Kenneth W. Murdock, 72, of Arlington are set for 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington.

Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Norwood Cemetery in Hearne.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arlington Funeral Home in Arlington.

Mr. Murdock died Tuesday in Arlington.

He was born in Groesbeck.

Survivors include his wife, Clemmie Murdock of Arlington; a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Jinny Murdock of Arlington; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Winston Sanders of Bryan; a brother, Bill Murdock of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Jaynie Baker of Hearne; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Library.

Benjamin Patranella
Jan. 19, 1920 — Dec. 20, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Benjamin Patranella, 80, of Madisonville are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Madisonville Funeral Home.

The Rev. Dick White will officiate. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Patranella died Wednesday in Madison St. Joseph Health Center.

He was born in Bryan and had lived in Madisonville since 1977. He was retired from the Coca-Cola and Dr Pepper plant. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Edna Patranella.

Survivors include two daughters, Cherrel Langley of Madisonville and Melanie Hobson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Andres ‘Andrew’ G. Pineda
Nov. 30, 1945 — Dec. 18, 2000

CALDWELL — Services for Andres “Andrew” G. Pineda, 55, of Caldwell are set for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell.

The Rev. Dimitrij Colankin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Pineda died Monday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

He was born in Caldwell and had been employed by Gooseneck Trailer Co. in Bryan as a welder for more than 25 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include 11 brothers and 10 sisters-in-law, Erasmo and Corina Pineda, Sebastian Jr. and Doris Pineda, Isabel and Patricia Ann Pineda, Antonio “Tony” and Stephanie Pineda and Luardo “Lucas” and Margarita Pineda, all of Bryan, David and Denise Pineda and Victor and Margaret Pineda, all of Caldwell, Paul Pineda of Henderson, Texas, Johnnie and Bonnie Pineda of Florida, Pat Sr. and Gaylene Pineda and Jessie and Kimberly Pineda, all of Oklahoma; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Eluteria “Nene” and Victor Rodriguez Sr. of Caldwell, Mary and Raymond Rios Sr. of Duncanville, Texas, and Mary Jane and Ruben Rueda of Bryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
