ROCKDALE — Memorial services for Holly Simmons, 34, of Buffalo are set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Bethel Baptist Church in Buffalo.

The Rev. Leonard D. Hall will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Simmons died Tuesday in Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas.

She was born in Houston and had lived in Buffalo for 12 years. She formerly lived in Rockdale and was a secretary for a feed mill.

Survivors include her husband, Dave Simmons of Buffalo; a son, David Isaac Simmons of Buffalo; a daughter, Krystal Noel Simmons of Buffalo; her mother, Barbara Coon of Buffalo; her father and stepmother, Paul Sr. and Annie Matthews of Houston; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul Jr. and Margie Matthews of Missouri and Mitchell J. and Alicia Matthews of Augustine, Texas; and a sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Tom McNatt of Huntsville, Texas.

Priscilla G. Vezorak
July 21, 1914 — Dec. 19, 2000

NAVASOTA — Services for Priscilla G. Vezorak, 86, of Roans Prairie are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson.

The Rev. Louis S. Sikorski of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home in Navasota.

Mrs. Vezorak died Tuesday in Colton Inn Health Center in College Station.

She was born in Chappell Hill and had lived most of her life in Roans Prairie. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stash M. Vezorak.

Survivors include two sons, Philip Vezorak of Richards and Adam Vezorak of Gause; a daughter, Helen Tyler of Roans Prairie; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Elsie Frances Macik Muzny
Aug. 6, 1913 - Dec. 20, 2000

Services for Elsie Frances Macik Muzny, 87, of Bryan are set for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hillier Funeral Home. The Rev. John R. Gantt, Jr. of Brethren Church of Bryan-College Station will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Muzny died Wednesday at her residence in Bryan.

She was born in Rockdale and was a homemaker and an Avon representative for more than 35 years.

She was a member of the Brethren Church of Bryan-College Station.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Charles Muzny.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Martha Ann Pesek of Port O’Connor, Texas, Dorothy Frances Engelbert and Bob Little of Houston, Rose Evelyn and Bill Powers of Austin; two brothers, Tommy and Henry Macik; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Fayola Bradford
Sept. 28, 1952 - Dec. 20, 2000

Services for Fayola Bradford, 48, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Ruby’s Chapel at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan. The Rev. M.O. Cooper of St. Matthew Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Bradford died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was a lifetime resident of Bryan. She was a cook. Ms. Bradford attended Kemp High School and was a Baptist.

Survivors include three daughters, Anitra Bradford, Landra Renee’ Camper, and Kehisha Bradford, all of Bryan; three brothers, Earl Bradford, Ray Bradford and Michael Bradford, all of Bryan; a sister, Letha Blackmon of Houston; and eight grandchildren.

Herbert Madison Walker Jr.
Feb. 3, 1928 - Dec. 20, 2000

GAUSE — Services for Herbert Madison Walker, Jr., 72, of Gause are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Gause United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Byrd will officiate. Burial will be in Gause Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.

Mr. Walker died Wednesday in Gause.

He was born in Milam County. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Mr. Walker was a member of the Gause United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Callie Walker of Gause; two sons and daughters-in-law, Herbert Madison and Brenda Walker III of Milano, Dennis Julian and Kelly Walker of Gause; one daughter, Deeann Walker of Gause; one brother, Carl Walker of Navasota; one sister, Margie Dibble of Gause; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Kathy Feldmann Avant
May 26, 1955 - Dec. 19, 2000

RACELAND, La. — A memorial service for Kathy Feldmann Avant, 45, of Raceland, La., (formerly of Navasota) is set for 2 p.m. Friday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota. The Rev. Donald Kasper of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate.

Mrs. Avant died Tuesday in Houma, La.

She was born in Navasota and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, John Avant of Raceland, La.; a stepson, John Avant of Raceland; one daughter, Kassie Avant of Raceland; a stepdaughter, Joan Chavez of Lawrence, Kan.; two brothers, Wayne Feldmann of Montgomery, Texas, Leon Knox of Waco; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walt and Wanneta Avant of Mer-Rouge, La.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Erlinda Martinez
Aug. 6, 1910 - Dec. 20, 2000

Erlinda Martinez, 90, of College Station died Wednesday at Southwood Nursing Home.

A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones in Bryan.

She was born in McAllen. She was a resident of Brazos County since 1960. She attended St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Martinez.

Survivors include her friends, Maria and Simon Ramon of Caldwell.

Faye Leeth
April 2, 1936 - Dec. 21, 2000

Services for Faye Leeth, 64, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. The Rev. Bob Richers of First United Methodist Church will officiate.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Hico, Texas, at the Hico Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral Home.

Mrs. Leeth died Thursday in Houston.

She was born in Roanoke, Texas.

She was an office manager at the Veterans Services office at Texas A&M University.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Leeth.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Terri Leeth of Bryan, Bobby and Phyllis Leeth of Terrell, Texas; her father, Dan Knowles of Ore City, Texas; five brothers, Kenneth Knowles of Richland Hills, Texas, Jerry Knowles of Mesquite, Texas, Roger Knowles of Paris, Texas, Allen Knowles of Denton, Texas, and Ronnie Knowles of Rocksprings, Texas; two sisters, Pat Knowles of Sherman, Texas, and Carolyn Beatty of Blue Ridge; and six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Veterans Services, Student Financial Aid, Texas A&M University or the American Cancer Society.

Dessie Rowell Richardson
Jan. 11, 1940 - Dec. 20, 2000

BREMOND — Services for Dessie Rowell Richardson, 60, of Bremond are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Bremond Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Nutt of First Assembly of God Church in Kilgore will officiate. Burial will be in Bremond Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Richardson died Wednesday at her home in Bremond.

She was born in Marlin, Texas, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Marlin.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ervin Watson.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Richardson of Bremond; a stepson, Johnny M. Richardson Jr. and Marla of Gatesville, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Marty Heirich of Hearne and Deniese Winstead and Johnny Allen of Bremond; two brothers and a sister-in-law, John David and Carolyn Rowell of Ross, Texas, Jack Rowell of Tyler; a brother-in-law, Walter Richardson of Bremond; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Rowell and R.L. Wayne Beavers
Oct. 9, 1947 — Dec. 22, 2000

HUMBLE, Texas — A memorial service for Wayne Beavers, 53, of Huffman, Texas, is set for 4 p.m. Saturday at Rosewood Chapel in Humble. Additional services will follow at a later date in Crockett, Texas.

Mr. Beavers died Friday.

He was born in Houston. Mr. Beavers was a pipefitter foreman.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Chambers Beavers of Huffman; a son, Tony Beavers of College Station; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shelley Beavers of Houston and Laurie and Mark Moreno of Webster, Texas; his mother, Marie Beavers of Crockett; two brothers, Jerry and Larry Beavers of Crockett; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas Liver Institute at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital.

Nancy Janie Foster Ross
May 5, 1914 — Dec. 21, 2000

NORMANGEE — Services for Nancy Janie Foster Ross, 86, of Normangee are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Madisonville. Burial will be in Jozye Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Madisonville. Arrangements are under the direction of J.M. Day Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ross died Thursday at her home in Normangee.

She was born in Madison County. She was active in the Relief Society Organization and taught in the primary organization for many years.

Survivors include her husband, James Ross of Normangee; three sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Barbara Ross of Normangee, James and Sue Ross of Deer Park, Texas, and Patrick Ross of Edna, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joe Worley of Houston; a brother, Heber Foster of Madisonville; two sisters, Lilly Bell Burr of Madisonville and Ella Satterfield of Tomball, Texas; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Bertie Faye Boland
Oct. 3, 1938 — Dec. 22, 2000

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — Services for Bertie Faye Boland, 62, of Huntsville are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Madisonville Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Witcher will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Girard Cemetery in Girard, Texas with Joe Gregory officiating.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Ms. Boland died Friday.

She was born in Girard. She was raised and graduated from high school in Girard. Ms. Boland worked for 27 years at the Mt. Vernon’s Jewelry and Gift Shop.

Survivors include her son, Jay Boland of San Antonio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldene and Edd Farris of Dodge, Texas, and Shawna and Daryl Lenz of Huntsville; two sisters, Erma Spradling of Madisonville and Mickey Frances of Ralls, Texas; a sister-in-law, Wilma Wilson of Girard; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
