Ruth M. Miller
Aug. 13, 1915 — Jan. 5, 2001

NORMANGEE — Graveside services for Ruth M. Miller, 85, of Hilltop Lakes are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Hopewell Cemetery in Normangee.

Bro. Bob Kristensen of Hilltop Lakes Chapel will officiate. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hilltop Lakes Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cozart Funeral Home in Normangee.

Mrs. Miller died Friday at her home.

She was born in Belleville, N.J., and lived in Hilltop Lakes for 24 years. She was president of the Ladies Auxiliary-Hilltop Chapel for two terms and was a Bridge Club member. She was a member of Hilltop Lakes Chapel.

Survivors include her husband, Claude Miller of Hilltop Lakes; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas Allen and Pat Miller of Oklahoma and Larence Bruce Miller of Houston; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hilltop Lakes Chapel, P.O. Box 1143, Hilltop Lakes, Texas 77871.

Emma Louise Moon
March 2, 1942 — Jan. 6, 2001

CENTERVILLE — Services for Emma Louise Moon, 58, of Marquez are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Marquez Baptist Church.

The Rev. Billy Bob Evans of Marquez Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Marquez Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to noon Monday at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

Mrs. Moon died Saturday in Groesbeck, Texas.

She was born in Mexia, Texas, and lived in Marquez since 1987. She formerly lived in Midway and was a member of the Marquez Baptist Church. She was employed by Dairy Delite and Texas Burger in Madisonville for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley Moon of Marquez; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura Lea and Michael Lynn Owens of Marquez; a brother, Marvin Winstead Jr. of Marquez; three sisters, Lilly Galloway and Betty Lorfing, both of Marquez, and Dora Shields of Bremond; and three grandchildren.

Albin C. Pavlas
Feb. 3, 1912 — Jan. 5, 2001

Services for Albin C. Pavlas, 88, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Dimitrij Colankin will officiate. Burial will be in Smetana Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. John McCaffrey officiating.

Mr. Pavlas died Friday in Sherwood Healthcare Center.

He was born in Caldwell and was a lifelong resident of Bryan. He was retired as a truck driver for Lilly Dairy. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 4692 and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Kuder Pavlas.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Linda Stewart of Bryan; a brother, Stanley Pavlas of Bryan; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lottie Bryant and Doris and Luke Patranella, all of Bryan; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Pavlas of Bryan; a grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Adam William Peterson Sr.
Dec. 14, 1912 — Jan. 4, 2001

NAVASOTA — Services for Adam William Peterson Sr., 88, of Navasota are set for 1 p.m. Monday at Truevine Baptist Church in Navasota.

The Rev. Wardell Ruckett will officiate. Burial will be in Post Oak Cemetery in Dobbin, Texas.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Jones Funeral Home in Navasota and from noon to the time of the services Monday at the church.

A wake will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Peterson died Thursday in Methodist Hospital in Houston.

He was born in Grimes County and was a self-employed electrician. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a 33rd degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mazie Peterson.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Adam William Jr. and Carolyn Peterson of Houston; two brothers, Wilfrel A. Peterson of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Wilfred B. Peterson of Navasota; and two grandchildren.

Percy Alexander Tardy Jr.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Services for Percy Alexander Tardy Jr., 87, of Beaumont are set for 3 p.m. Sunday at Calder Baptist Church in Beaumont.

Burial will be at a later date in Bryan City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont.

Mr. Tardy died Friday in Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

He was born in Bryan and lived in Beaumont for 64 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was retired as a chemical engineer for Mobil Oil.

Survivors include his wife, Loreta Tardy of Beaumont; a son, Michael E. Tardy of Denver; and a brother, Walter Earle Tardy of Lake Ridge, Va.

Memorials may be made to Some Other Place, 590 Center, Beaumont, Texas 77701, the Salvation Army, 2350 IH 10 East, Beaumont, Texas 77703 or to a charity of choice.

Bertha Urrutia
Sept. 29, 1964 — Jan. 5, 2001

Services for Bertha Urrutia, 36, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brazos Miracle Outreach in Bryan.

The Revs. Ruben Canales, Thomas Kitchens and Wally Urrutia, all of Bryan, Lino Carrillo and Samuel Montoya, both of San Marcos, Texas, will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan and from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Tuesday at the church.

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Urrutia died Friday at her home.

She was born in San Marcos and lived in Bryan for 10 years. She was employed as the custodial supervisor for Texas A&M University. She was a member of Brazos Miracle Outreach.

Survivors include her husband, Gilbert Urrutia of Bryan; a son, Joe Robert Urrutia of Bryan; five daughters, Amanda Urrutia, Amy Urrutia, Sandy Urrutia, Yvonne Urrutia and Yvette Urrutia, all of Bryan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Jr. and Janie Collazo and Jesse and Rosie Collazo, all of San Marcos; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marty and Lino Carrillo and Alice and Ramiro Hernandez, all of San Marcos, and Eva and Ray Peralez of Lockhart, Texas; and 16 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a fund for the Urrutia children.

Harold Frank Warzon
June 2, 1916 — Jan. 5, 2001

NAVASOTA — Services for Harold Frank Warzon, 84, of Anderson are set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson.

The Rev. Louis S. Sikorski of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home in Navasota and from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the services Tuesday at the church.

A Parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and will be followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary.

Mr. Warzon died Friday in Grimes St. Joseph Health Center.

He was a lifelong resident of Anderson and was retired from the Texas Highway Department. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4054 and the American Legion Post 640 of Anderson. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.

Survivors include a sister, Martha E. Warzon of Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

William Orville Davis
March 11, 1920 — Jan. 3, 2001

Graveside services for William Orville Davis, 80, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bryan City Cemetery.

The Rev. Harral Dunnam of First United Methodist Church in Bryan will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mr. Davis died Wednesday at his home.

He was a lifelong resident of Bryan and attended Texas A&M University. He was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of VFW Post No. 4692 in Bryan. He was retired as a petroleum salesman for Exxon Corp.

Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Jones and Francis Foster, both of Bryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

Marjetta Moody Hill
Oct. 26, 1910 — Jan. 6, 2001

Graveside services for Marjetta Moody Hill, 90, of College Station are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at College Station Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Hill died Saturday in Bryan.

She was born in Paradise, Texas, and lived in College Station since 1947. She graduated from Decatur Baptist College and had an early career teaching elementary school. She participated with a local orchestra in summer musicals on the Texas A&M University campus and taught violin lessons. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryan, where she taught the Adult Women’s Sunday school classes for 50 years and was president of the Baptist Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hill.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Wehner of Bryan; former son-in-law, Dr. Arthur L. Wehner of Boise, Idaho; and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Bryan, 200 S. Texas Ave., Bryan, Texas 77803 or to Hospice Brazos Valley, 205 E. 29th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803.

Gearl D. Rasco
Dec. 14, 1924 — Jan. 6, 2001

Services for Gearl D. Rasco, 76, of North Zulch are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reliance Baptist Church in Brazos County.

The Rev. Kelby Mullins will officiate. Burial will be in Reliance Cemetery in the Reliance community.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mr. Rasco died Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

He was born in George in Madison County and was employed as an operator with Ethyl Corp. in Houston for 30 years. After his retirement, he returned to North Zulch and was a rancher until his second retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Annie C. Rasco of North Zulch; a son and daughter-in-law, Gearl and Dayna Rasco of Bryan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James T. and Estha Rasco of Deer Park, Texas, Sam L. and Gerry Rasco of Carlsbad, N.M., and George Donald and Betty Rasco of Tomball, Texas; two sisters, Mary Alice Land of Santa Fe, Texas, and Pansy Ruth Falco of Snook; and a grandchild.

Pauline Leona Warhol
Oct. 25, 1908 — Jan. 5, 2001

BREMOND — Services for Pauline Leona Warhol, 92, of Bremond are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bremond.

The Rev. Celso Yu of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the Peiskee Funeral Home Chapel in Bremond.

Mrs. Warhol died Friday in Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

She was born in Reagan, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Bremond. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the St. Mary’s Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete L. Warhol; and two infant sons, Adam Warhol and Frank Warhol.

Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Frank Kubiak and Gertrude and Victor Kocian, all of Rockdale, Joan and Johnnie Stzelecke of Magnolia, Texas, Bobbie and C.M. Klose Jr. of Bremond and Patsy and Bernard Hopcus of Bryan; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
