BUFFALO — A memorial service for Michael Todd DePriest, 33, of Buffalo is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Ricks Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ray Payne will officiate.

Mr. DePriest died Tuesday.

He was born in Denver. He was a welder and worked in the construction business. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Ellen Vrettos of Houston; his father, Charles DePriest of Fort Worth; three brothers, Charles DePriest of Houston, Wade DePriest of Fort Worth, Spyros Vrettos of Houston; three sisters, Elizabeth Ward of Lubbock, Tresa DePriest of Houston, Gayle Tarver of Cleveland; his grandfather, Cyril O’Neill of New Hope, N.C., and his aunt.

BUFFALO — A memorial service for Jennifer Ballew DePriest, 11, Mollie DePriest, 9, and Michael DePriest, 4; all of Buffalo is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Ricks Funeral Home Chapel in Jewett. The Rev. Ray Payne will officiate.

Jennifer, Mollie, and Michael died Tuesday in Buffalo.

They were born in Houston. All three children attended Buffalo schools. Jennifer was in the fifth grade in Mrs. Judy Foster’s homeroom class; Mollie was in the third grade in Mrs. Linda Bishop’s homeroom class, and Michael was in kindergarten in Mrs. Carol Well’s class.

Survivors include their grandmothers, Sandra Miller and Ellen Vrettos, both of Houston.

Yvonne Lincoln
Aug. 13, 1925 — Feb. 14, 2001

Services for Yvonne Lincoln, 75, of Bryan and formerly of Texas City, are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Rev. Ralph Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and a rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lincoln died Wednesday in Bryan.

She was born in Conecuh County, Ala. She was a retired hairdresser.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Lincoln.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Leon and Kim Davis of Bryan and Donnie and Cynthia Davis of Santa Fe, Texas; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Buttermore of Edgewater, Fla.; a brother, Al Sanders of Conroe; two sisters, Loraine Tompkins of Pensacola, Fla., and Olivia Gay of Molino, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Luella Mosley
July 19, 1919 — Feb. 10, 2001

HOUSTON — Services for Luella Mosley, 81, of Houston are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Baptist Church in Bryan. The Rev. Craig D. Crowe of Mount Calm Baptist Church in Houston will officiate. Burial will be in Cannan Cemetery in Bryan.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

Mrs. Mosley died Saturday in Houston.

She was born in Bryan and attended Prairie View A&M College. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Marshall Eli Mosley of Houston; her stepdaughter, Dollie Jack of Houston; and a grandson.

Curtis Wade
June 6, 1925 — Feb. 12, 2001

CYPRESS — Services for Curtis Wade, 75, of Cypress are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Brookside Funeral Home-West in Houston. The Rev. J.Y. Wade will officiate. Burial will be in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Houston.

Mr. Wade died Monday at his home in Cypress.

He was born in Nacogdoches. He lived in Cypress for 47 years. He was a retired school teacher. He was a deacon, treasurer and assistant Sunday school teacher for Riceville Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Valasta Wade of Cypress; two sons, Curtis Wade Jr. of Plano and Michael Wade of Katy; a daughter, Idaena Wade of Fresno, Texas; two brothers, the Rev. J.Y. Wade and Leon Wade, both of Nacogdoches; three sisters, Henrietta Ferguson of Nacogdoches, Minnie L. Jones of Lufkin and Inez Wade of Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.

Juarene Jackson
July 25, 1923 — Feb. 9, 2001

Services for Juarene Jackson, 77, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bryan. The Rev. Craig Anderson will officiate.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Daniel & Son Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Jackson died Friday.

She was a lifelong resident of Bryan and attended Kemp High School. She was a seamstress. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruey Jackson.

Survivors include her brother, Ulyssem Gill of Dallas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.

Anna Eva Carpenter
Jan. 29, 1934 — Feb. 14, 2001

ANDERSON — Services for Anna Eva Carpenter, 67, of Anderson are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota. Rob Taggert of New Harvest Day will officiate.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Anderson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday with the family present at Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Carpenter died Wednesday in Anderson.

She was born in Memphis, Tenn. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Doyle B. Carpenter of Anderson; six daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Jimmy Hampton of Arlington, Dora Gilmore of Conroe, Tammy and Kevin Uilkie of Montgomery, Jamie and Lee Turner of Navasota, Thelma and Curtis Klingle of White Hall and Valinda and Randy Gurka of Anderson; her mother, Thelma Stoker of Houston; and 14 grandchildren.

Faye Sparkman Brooks
Feb. 11, 1917 — Feb. 14, 2001

Services for Faye Sparkman Brooks, 84, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Bryan. Dr. Tim Owens will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Brooks died Wednesday at Sherwood Health Care Facility.

She was born in Emhouse, Texas. She resided in Bryan since 1946. She had worked for Western Union from 1943-1972 and the Greyhound Bus Station from 1972 to 1981. She was president of the Lois Sunday School Class for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Brooks.

Survivors include a daughter, Rita Nelson of Caldwell; a sister, Nena Mae Brown of Brownfield; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 S. Texas Ave., Bryan, Texas 77803.

Clayton R. Pineda
July 14, 1975 — Feb. 14, 2001

CALDWELL — Mass for Clayton R. Pineda, 25, of Caldwell is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell. The Rev. Dimitrij Colankin will officiate. Burial will be in St. Cary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Mr. Pineda died Wednesday at Burleson/St. Joseph Health Center in Caldwell.

He was born in Caldwell. He was a production worker at Sealy Mattress Co. in Brenham. He was a graduate of Caldwell High School and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his father, Cruz Pineda, his mother, Christina Revilla; both of Caldwell; two sisters, Chastiti Pecos and Catina Pineda; maternal grandmother, Juana Revilla; paternal grandmother, Julia Pineda; and several nieces and nephews.

Janet Matherly Diehl
Nov. 20, 1945 — Feb. 15, 2001

NAVASOTA — Services for Janet Matherly Diehl, 55, of Anderson are set for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plantersville.

The Rev. Edward C. Kucera Jr. of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. to the time of the services Monday at the church.

A vigil and rosary service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home in Navasota.

Mrs. Diehl died Thursday in the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

She was born in Radford, Va., and lived in Anderson for seven years. She was a former resident of Magnolia, Texas, and Houston and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, James W. Diehl of Anderson; three sons, Kenny Matherly, John Diehl and Carl Diehl, all of Houston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Julius Hopkins of Magnolia, Michelle and Brad Leathers of Spring, Texas, and Robin and Tony Becker of Houston; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl Bandy and Nancy Matherly Jr. of Reiner, Va.; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Dairah-ysha Rynik Gray
July 19, 1999 — Feb. 12, 2001

Services for Dairah-ysha Rynik Gray, 18 months, of Bryan are set for 3 p.m. Sunday at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Robert Jefferies of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Hearne.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.

Dairah-ysha died Monday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Temple.

Survivors include her parents, Demetria and Clifford Runoalds of Bryan; five brothers, Dominic, DiTerrian, Damontral, DaQuavius and DaChristopher, all of Bryan; a sister, Dyesha of Bryan; grandparents Annie Gray of Bryan, LeRoy Gray of Hearne and Lena and Willie Cheatom of Sulphur Springs; and her great-grandmother, Repsey Nelson Woods of Bryan.

Alberta Richard Harrison
March 12, 1918 — Feb. 13, 2001

MARLIN — Services for Alberta Richard Harrison, 82, of Franklin are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Church of God in Christ in Franklin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Home in Marlin.

Mrs. Harrison died Tuesday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Easterly and worked in the restaurant service for many years. She was a member of the South New Hope Baptist Church in Franklin.

Survivors include a sister, Mollie Morrow of Franklin; a brother-in-law, L.L. Edwards of Franklin; two step-sons, Robert Earl Harris of Waco and Charles Earl Harris of Dallas; an aunt; seven step-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
