SAN ANTONIO — Services for Alicia V. Benavidez, 66, of San Antonio were Wednesday at Templo Bethel, Asemblea De Dios in San Antonio.
Burial was in San Fernando Cemetery No. 3.
Arrangements were under the direction of Max Martinez Mortuary in San Antonio.
Mrs. Benavidez died Monday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose D. Benavidez; and a daughter, Amelia B. Moreno.
Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Aurora and Alfred Mendez, Amanda B. Davila, Anna Maria and Frank Ramos and Alice Benavidez; three sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Irma Benavidez, Joe and Sylvia Benavidez and Jacoby and Martha Benavidez; a sister, Lucy Rodriguez; a brother, Feliz Valdez; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Margaret Emily Griffith
April 7, 1911 — March 29, 2001
Services for Margaret Emily Griffith, 89, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.
Aubrey Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in Reliance Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Griffith died Thursday in Sherwood Healthcare Center.
She was born in Weches and lived in Bryan for six years. She formerly lived in Bellville and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Solon Griffith of Bryan; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Calvin Chamberland of Bryan; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ.
Geneva Savala

Services for Geneva Savala, 45, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan.
The Rev. Victor Robles of Santa Teresa Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Savala died Thursday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Lamesa, Texas, and lived in Bryan since 1973. She was a homemaker and was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Savala Jr. of Bryan; a son, Benz Galindo of Hutto; a daughter, Christina Ramirez of Bryan; two brothers, Raymond Galindo and Johnny Galindo, both of Bryan; six sisters, Linda Macias of Uvalde, Dolores De Leon, Maria Saldivar and Dora Montegue, all of Bryan, Connie Miranda of Houston and Mary Jane Ramirez of Round Rock; and six grandchildren.
Loin Edward ‘Eddie’ Hill

JEWETT — Services for Loin Edward “Eddie” Hill, 62, of Jewett are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lake Limestone Baptist Church in Lake Limestone.
The Rev. Johnny Layton of Lake Limestone Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sardis Cemetery in Jewett.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at Ricks Funeral Home in Jewett.
Mr. Hill died Friday in Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.
He lived in Houston and Jewett and worked as a carpenter, painter and in other construction jobs. He was a member of the Lake Limestone Baptist Church.
Survivors include his fiancée, Doris Henderson of Lake Limestone.
Bertie B. Harper Marling

Services for Bertie B. Harper Marling, 95, of Bryan are set for 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Bright Lights Freewill Baptist Church in College Station.
The Rev. Herbert Richards of Bright Lights Freewill Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Earthman Rest Haven Cemetery in Houston.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan and from 1 p.m. to the time of the services Sunday at the church.
Mrs. Marling died Thursday in Sherwood Healthcare Center.
She was born in Tempson and lived in Bryan since 1969. She was a member of Bright Lights Freewill Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Hendrix and Nita Harper of College Station; a daughter and son-in-law, Jimmie and Lowell Norris of College Station; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Powers died Wednesday at her home.
She was born in Brazos County and was a lifelong resident of Bryan. She was a member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Powers.
Survivors include three sons, Elton Powers and Donnie Powers, both of Bryan, and Nathan Powers of Tomball; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Myrtie Smith of Bryan; three sisters, Ann Way and Marie Reed, both of Bryan, and Avis Arrington of Houston; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was born in Alice and lived in Wheelock most of her life. She was employed as a secretary for Jim’s Appliance Service in College Station for 18 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Franklin.
Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Duane Stokley of San Regis, Mont., James and Mary Stokley and David Stokley, all of Wheelock, and Bob and Marty Scott of Franklin; a daughter and son-in-law, Marion and Douglas Grigar of Wheelock; two sisters, Joan Boyd of Franklin and Faye Poldark of Corpus Christi; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ROCKDALE — Services for Mamie Wilhite, 93, of Tanglewood are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tanglewood Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wilhite died Wednesday at her home.
She was born in Springhill, La., and lived in Tanglewood for 85 years. She was a homemaker and farmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Dewey Wilhite.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Elmo and Ruth Ann Wilhite of Tanglewood and L.D. “Rusty” and Ann Wilhite of Rockdale; two daughters and a son-in-law, Belle Matlock of Rusk and Dorothy and Jerry Crowder of Tacoma, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Paldo of Navasota; nine sisters and a brother-in-law, Ella Bates of Baytown, Laura Gibbs of Livingston, Emma Tilford, Josephine Jackson, Laura Bennett, Nella Kerl, Anna and David Turner and Dorothy Matthews, all of Navasota; her stepmother, Millie Paldo of Navasota; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
