Tom White

Graveside services for Tom White Jr., 77, of Wharton, were held Sunday at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Richard Smith officiating.

Mr. White died Aug. 22, 2003, at Gulf Coast Medical Center. He was born on May 21, 1926, in Cuero, the son of the late Tom and Gladys Odem White Sr.

He married Rose Roper on Aug. 22, 1953, in Wharton. Mr. White worked as a welder prior to retiring around 1979. He was a former resident of Houston and had lived in Wharton since 1976.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rose White of Wharton; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Donna White of Bryan, Leslie Thomas and Kimberly White of East Bernard and Thomas Ray and Judy White of Rockdale; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Henry Robertson of Spring and Vicky Grothe and Kenneth Ackley of New Caney; brothers, Willard White of Wharton, Ruben White of Wharton, Bill White of Splendora, Harold White of Wharton and Danny White of El Campo; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy White; sons, Jackie White and Kelley White; brother, Charlie White and sister, Helen White.

If desiring, memorials may be made to a charity of personal choice.

Theresa Duncan

Theresa Joyce Woodard-Duncan, 57 years, 8 months, 2 days, 12 hours, and 58 minutes old, left this earth on Oct. 26, 2003.

She was born to Oscar Mae Woodard-Sanford and the late Raymond Woodard Sr. She was nurtured in a Christian home.

Ms. Duncan accepted Christ at an early age and joined East Gate Baptist Church. Later she joined Jerusalem Baptist Church where she was mission secretary and a faithful choir member. Ms. Duncan attended the Sorrel School and Wharton Training High School. She graduated in the Class of 1964. Ms. Duncan was employed by Texana MHMR until she passed.

Her loving and faithful husband Hobby Duncan preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving father and mother, Alex and Oscar Mae Sanford of Wharton; a step-mother, Rosie Lee Green of Wharton; one son, Craig A. Brown of Wharton; one daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie D. and Marcus Williams of North Carolina; 4 grandchildren, Brittany, La’nora, Kenise and Jerome; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda, Carolyn and Leonard, Yvonne, Carrie and Charlie, Mattie, Serita and Eula; brothers and sisters-in-law, Claudell and Sol, Raymond and Julia and Cornealious and Roslyn; 2 aunts, 4 uncles, a very special friend Marion Earls of Wharton and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, at Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Theresa Foss

Theresa Genevieve Foss, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed from the loving arms of her family into the loving arms of Jesus on Oct. 29, 2003.

Mrs. Foss was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Stoneham, the youngest of 10 children. She was reared in Rosenberg, where she met and married Lee Roy Foss on Aug. 19, 1945. They moved to Houston and made their home there for 35 years, raising three children. Theresa was employed by Sears for 10 years as assistant credit manager. Lee and Theresa retired to Glen Flora, were they have resided for 20 years enjoying watching their three grandsons grow up.

She is survived by her husband, Lee of Glen Flora; son, Fred Foss and wife Emily of Wharton; daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Larry Wendel of Glen Flora and Kathy and James Hines of Glen Flora; three grandsons, Jimmy, Kevin and Randy Hines.

She was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Rosary was held Friday at Triska Funeral Home in El Campo. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, at St. Philip’s Catholic Church in El Campo.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Hines, Kevin Hines, Randy Hines, John Schultz, Johnny Briers and Kenneth Borski.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation, 3730 Kirby Drive, Suite 720, Houston, TX 77098.

Dennis Frauenberger

A memorial service for Dennis Maclaren Frauenberger, 68, of Pearland, was held Oct. 24 at First United Methodist Church of Pearland. Interment followed at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
Mr. Frauenberger was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Seminole, Okla., to the late Melvin and Gladys Frauenberger, formerly of El Campo. He died Oct. 22, 2003, at his home.

He moved with his family to Wharton in 1944, where he graduated from Wharton High School and attended Wharton Junior College, before graduating from the University of Texas in 1958 with a degree in petroleum engineering. Mr. Frauenberger was married to Beverly Frauenberger with whom he had three children. He was president and CEO of Climax Lubricants & Equipment Co., a valve lubricant and sealant manufacturer in Houston. In 1966, Mr. Frauenberger built a home for his family in Pearland, and began serving the community with his involvement on many local boards and charities. He was an active member in the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, Pearland Rotary Club, City of Pearland Board, City Councilman, Board Trustee, Pearland Economic Development Council Board of Directors, Brazoria County Appraisal Board, Pearland Library, The Longhorn Foundation, Pearland Neighborhood Center, West Side National Bank Board of Directors, Association for Retarded Citizens and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Frauenberger helped bring the YMCA to Pearland.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly Frauenberger; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Brian Armbruster of Pearland and Gretchen Frauenberger and Ross Coleman of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Leigh Anne Frauenberger; brother and sister-in-law, George and Edna Frauenberger of Raywood; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eloise Havard of Lufkin, Sandra and James Spano of Wharton and Edward Hamm of New Braunfels; mothers-in-law, Jessie Adams and Juanita Hamm of Pearland; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the Frauenberger family requests donations to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in memory of Dennis Frauenberger, P.O. Box 297153, Houston, Texas 77292-0153.

Louis Jackson

Funeral services for Louis Lee Jackson Sr., 55, of Wichita Falls, were held Oct. 27, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Wichita Falls with Rev. R.M. Castle officiating. Burial followed in Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery in Wichita Falls.

Mrs. Jackson died Oct. 22, 2003, in Wichita Falls. He was born Sept. 17, 1947, in Wharton, to the late Charlie and Geraldine Jackson.

He married Jeneva Finley on Oct. 31, 1968, in Wichita Falls. Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Shepard Air Force Base. He was a dental assistant after his military service and he was an electrical technician.

Survivors include his wife, Jeneva Jackson; daughters and son-in-law, Victoria and Talib B. Abdul-Hakim of Lawton, Okla., and Vanessa L. Jackson of Garland; son and daughter-in-law, Louis L. and Benita Jackson of Fort Worth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phillis Jackson, Carol Jackson and Cathy Jackson, all of Wharton, Donna and Louis Byars of Kendleton and Samantha and Albert Olijiton of Roswell, N.M.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Maurice and Debra Shropshire of Eagle Lake, Charlie and Valarie Jackson and Carl and Tosha Jackson, all of Wharton; and six grandchildren.

Reyes Olivarez

Funeral services for Reyes Trinidad Olivarez Sr., 84, of Wharton, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Ramiro Jaime officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside services provided by American Legion Post No. 87 of Wharton.

Mr. Olivarez died Oct. 28, 2003, at Gulf Coast Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, on June 15, 1919, the son of the late Pedro Zardenetta and Calixta Torres Zardenetta.

He had been a resident of Wharton since 1932 and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in El Campo. Mr. Olivarez was a master plumber and was the owner of OK Plumbing in Wharton until his retirement in 2002. He attended Edison High School in Houston and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Yolanda Mata.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Billy Rodgers and Theresa and Ezequiel Cisneros Jr., all of Wharton, Linda Lara of Pasadena, Cecilia and Craig Toenniges of Channelview, Lupe and Edmundo Callejas of Van Neyes, Calif., and Judy and Hadi Adib of Huntsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Cayetano and Michaela Olivarez of DeSoto, Ishmael Olivarez of Amarillo and Reyes and Derenda Olivarez Jr. of Carrollton; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requests memorials to the Mission Program at Bethel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1275, El Campo, TX 77437.

Rudolph Tydlacka

Funeral services for Rudolph Joseph Tydlacka Sr., 86, of Wharton, were held Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church Rev. Joe Vrana officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside honors provided by American Legion Post No. 87 of Wharton. A rosary was recited Thursday at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home.

Mr. Tydlacka died Oct. 28, 2003, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Fayetteville, the son of the late Rudolph Tydlacka and Agnes Prihoda Tydlacka.

He had been a resident of Wharton since 1946 and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mr. Tydlacka was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was also a member of the KJT. Mr. Tydlacka worked as a carpenter until his retirement in 1980. He married Mary Vitek on Jan. 26, 1942, in Frydek. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Tydlacka, two sisters, Leona Canik and Agnes Roberts, and a brother, Woodrow J. Tydlacka.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Tydlacka of Wharton; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth A. and Andrew Prikryl of Beasley, Charlene M. and Daniel Svec of Hungerford and Ann M. and Willie Almendarez of Sealy; sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard L. and Patsy Tydlacka of Katy, Robert and Diana Tydlacka of Fairchilds, Rudy J. and Marjorie Tydlacka Jr. of Wharton, Raymond and Kathy Tydlacka of Cleveland, Okla., David J. Tydlacka of Wharton, Edward J. and Teresa Tydlacka of Fairchilds and Steven J. and Debbie Tydlacka of Wharton; sisters, Clara Wilson of El Campo and Alice Williams of Alice; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requests memorials to the Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund, 2011 Briar Lane, Wharton, TX 77488.

Amy Adams

Funeral services for Amy Hamlin Adams, 33, of Bay City, were held Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Bay City with Rev. Kevin Young officiating. Burial followed in Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

Mrs. Adams died Jan. 18, 2004, at Hermann Hospital in Houston. She was born Aug. 28, 1970, in Palacios to Kenneth W. and Connie Ruth Gilbert Hamlin.

She was a lifelong resident of Matagorda County, a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and was an LVN with the El Campo office of Houston Hospice.

Survivors include husband, Allen Michael Adams of Bay City; mother and step-father, Connie Ruth and Fred Snyder of Richmond; father and step-mother, Kenneth W. and Yvonne Hamlin of Palacios; children, Olivia Adams, Scott Sherrill, Derek Sherrill and Ian Adams, all of Bay City; brother and sister-in-law, Philip Wayne and Evett Hamlin of Wharton; step-sister and step-brother-in-law, Kim and Rob Harvey of Orlando, Fla.

Christine Davis

Memorial services for Christine Davis of Kendleton will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Davis died Jan. 18, 2004, in Wharton.

Otis Ford

Funeral services for Otis “Mickey” Ford Sr., 64, of Wharton, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, at New Faith Church. Burial will follow in Bowden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Matthews Funeral Home.

Mr. Ford died Jan. 16, 2004, at Methodist Hospital Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1939, in Wharton to the late Leroy and Valrie Brown Ford Sr.

He was the owner of Ford’s Paint and Body Shop.

Survivors include wife, Betty J. Moore Ford; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Ricky Ray and Angela and Nelson Brown; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Rose Ann Moore, Kenneth and Rose Marie Ford, Otis and Yolanda Ford Jr., Marous and Kim Ford and Leman and Marlo Ford Sr.; brothers and sisters, Leroy Ford Jr., Angie and Elmo Jones, Alyene Aitch and Mary Jackson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Nellie and Homer Humphrey; 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Eric Jackson

Funeral services for Eric Shaun Jackson, 32, of Victoria, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Stephen’s Baptist Church with Rev. A.J. Kemper Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today, Saturday. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today.

Mr. Jackson died Jan. 21, 2004, in Victoria. He was born Feb. 1, 1971, in Wharton to Clarence and Vetia Gay Jackson Branch Sr.

Survivors include mother, Vetia Gay Jackson of Wharton; wife, Elizabeth Johnson Jackson of Victoria; sons, Shaquel Jackson and Exzeric Jackson, both of Victoria; daughters, Tenique Jackson, Tameka Jackson and Ariana Jackson, all of Victoria; sisters, Erica Branch, Natalie Branch, Shellie Branch, Ieshia Branch, Raquel Branch, Gemeqka Branch and Tashayla Branch, all of Wharton; brothers, Clarence Jackson, Dewayne Hargrove, Clarence Branch Jr., Depreist Branch, Roland Branch, Terrance Branch and Kenyatte Thompson, all of Wharton.

Ruth Patton

Memorial services for Ruth Springfield Patton, 90, of Tyler, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Patton died Jan. 21, 2004.

Joe Vacek

Funeral services for Joe Frank Vacek, 89, of El Campo, were held Friday at St. Philip’s Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Burial followed in Holy Cross Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Vacek died Jan. 19, 2004. He was born Aug. 25, 1914, in Taiton to the late Joe Frank and Frances Drapela Vacek Sr.

He worked as an independent wholesale beer distributer for 50 years and was Catholic by faith. Mr. Vacek was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 50 years and was a member of the El Campo Volunteer Fire Department during the 1940s.

Survivors include wife, Bessie Stokr Vacek of El Campo; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette “Jan” and Gene Bahnson of Wharton; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert F. and Mary Vacek of Austin, Tom J. Vacek of Houston, Michael F. and Catherine Vacek of Austin and Joe D. and Laurice Vacek of El Campo; sister, Ellen Warren of Rosenberg; brothers, Louie Vacek of Bellville and Johnny Vacek of Rosenberg; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hattie Korenek Trilicek, Frances Kaminski and Annie Mae Mensik; and brothers, Raymond Vacek and Ludy Vacek.

If desiring, memorials may be made to the El Campo Volunteer Fire Department, American Heart Association or a charity of personal choice.
