Raymond Stephenson

Raymond Stephenson, 64, of Beaumont died April 11, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. today at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s on McFaddin. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today at the mortuary.

A lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was owner of Structural Steel and a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Stephenson of Beaumont; sons, Richard Stephenson of Beaumont and Curtis Stephenson of League City; daughters, Lisa Janssen of Austin, Stephanie Scotch of Beaumont and Melissa Gallagher of Chicago; brothers, Clinton Stephenson of Hemphill and Karl Stephenson of Vidor; sisters, Barbara Headley of Vidor and Judy Odom of Woodville; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 5144, Beaumont, Texas 77726-5144.

William P. ‘Bill’ Stringer

William P. "Bill’’ Stringer, 79, of Beaumont died April 10, 2001, at his residence.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Quinlan, he lived in Beaumont 60 years and was a retired Mobil Oil brick mason and World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie M. Stringer of Beaumont; daughter, Susan Riley of Beaumont; son, Scott Stringer of Gainesville, Fla.; brother, Joe C. Stringer of Houston; and four grandchildren.

Hilda Allison

Hilda Allison, 73, of Beaumont died June 29, 2001, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Day Deliverance Holiness Church with burial at Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Chapel on Irma Street. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Jones Memorial Chapel.

A native and longtime resident of Beaumont, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Alvin Ray Allison, Robert Lee Allison and Reginald Nathaniel Allison, all of Beaumont, and Benjamin Wilson Allison Jr. of Killeen; daughters, Deborah Lynn Allison, Sandra Young and Myra Allison, all of Beaumont, and Betty Jean Johnson of Dallas; sisters, Doris Gerard and Ollie B. Haney, both of Houston; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Cecil Leon Arnold

Cecil Leon Arnold, 55, of Clinton, Ark., died June 29, 2001, at his residence.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with burial at Ryan Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Highlands, he was a longtime Liberty County resident and a self-employed home building contractor.

Survivors include his parents, W.C. and Juanita Arnold of Liberty; sons, Roy Stubbs and Michael Arnold, both of Dayton, and Danny Arnold of Splendora; daughters, Lorrie Stubbs and Cindy Arnold, both of Dayton, and Rhonda Arnold of Splendora; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lucille Bennett

Lucille Bennett, 76, of Beaumont died July 2, 2001, in Dallas.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church with burial at Live Oak Mausoleum under the direction of Community Funeral Chapel on Irma Street. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A native of Palmetto, La., she lived in Beaumont many years and was a retired domestic worker.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Nunn of Mesquite; sister, Mary Cassimere of Dallas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Jane R. Blanchard Fondon

Jane R. Blanchard Fondon, 55, of Liberty died July 3, 2001, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church with burial at Anahuac Cemetery under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native of Welsh, La., she lived in the Liberty area many years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Fondon of Liberty; daughter, Dena Lynn Barham of Highlands, Lisa Doyal of Liberty and Tammy Lilly of Conroe; sisters, Lillian Johnson of Welsh, Aline Brown of Vinton, La., Jeanette Morgan of Hueytown, Ala., Norman Jean Northcutt of Hankamer and Hilda Phillips of Baytown; brothers, James Blanchard of Hardin, Henry Lee Blanchard of Hankamer and Roland Blanchard of Fannett; and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Hospital Cancer Research Fund, 1515 Holcomb Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030.

Kathleen Harrington Fry

Kathleen Harrington Fry, 57, of Warren died July 4, 2001, at her residence.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gardner Cemetery near Warren under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native of Port Arthur, she was a longtime resident of Warren and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Roy Fry of Warren; son, Gary Jeannie Loving of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Stacie Loving of Warren and Darla Bertrand of Winnie; brothers, Marcus Harrington of Port Neches and Wilbert Harrington Jr. of Groves; sisters, Loretta Bevil of Beaumont, Erlene Melancon of Spurger and Marilyn Harrington of Toledo Bend; and five grandchildren

Curley Harmon

Curley Harmon, 75, of Beaumont died July 3, 2001, at his residence.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Calvary Mortuary. A quiet hour will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

A lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include brothers, Earl Harmon and Jesse Harmon, both of Beaumont; and sisters, Myrtle Pickney and Thelma Stredic, both of Beaumont, and Christine Woolridge of Houston.

Marline Broussard Harrington, 60, of Nederland died July 4, 2001, at her residence.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Broussard’s in Nederland with burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Port Arthur, she lived in the Nederland and Port Arthur areas many years and was a retired Beaumont Enterprise secretary.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Harrington Sr. of Nederland; daughters, Renee Defee Kissinger of California and Janna Miller of Abilene; sons, Mike Vincent Defee of Groves, Bill Harrington Jr. of Lago Vista and Jason Harrington of Round Rock; sisters, Maudry Theriot of Nederland and Earline Kube of Groves; and 10 grandchildren.

Gary Neil Kattner

Gary Neil Kattner, 56, of Nederland died July 3, 2001, at his residence.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oak Bluff Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Taylor, he lived in Nederland most of his life.

Survivors include his son, Raymond Carter Kattner of Spring; mother, Lilly Kattner of Nederland; and brother, Max E. Kattner of Houston.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Alford Gene ‘No. 1 Yoda’ Landry Jr.

Alford Gene "No. 1 Yoda’’ Landry Jr., 20, of Beaumont died June 28, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at East Mt. Olive Baptist Church with burial at Live Oak Cemetery in Nederland under the direction of Proctor’s Mortuary in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

A native of Beaumont, he was employed by Domino’s Pizza.

Survivors include his parents, Alford Gene Landry Sr. and Yod Landry of Beaumont; brothers, Lionel Simon Landry of Beaumont and Joe Buachaun of Thailand; sisters, Bobbie Landry, Michelle Landry Johnson, Minh Nguyen and Kimberly Landry, all of Beaumont; grandmother, Mary L. Landry of Beaumont; and stepgrandmother, Mildred Landry of Beaumont.

L.C. Lipe

L.C. Lipe, 90, of Beaumont died July 3, 2001, at The Forum II Assisted Living Center in Houston.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s on McFaddin. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Logan County, Ark., he lived in Beaumont and Houston and was a retired Sun Pipeline Co. engineer.

Survivors include his brother, C.C. Lipe Jr. of Killeen; grandsons, Howard House and John House, both of Houston, and James House of Egypt; and five great-grandchildren.

Sally Adell Gilchrest Lott

Sally Adell Gilchrest Lott, 73, of Sabine Pass died July 4, 2001, at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves with graveside service at 1 p.m. at Kirbyville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Kirbyville, she lived in Sabine Pass and was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Charles Gilchrest of Houston, J.D. Gilchrest of Sabine Pass and Thomas Gilchrest of Groves; daughter, Priscilla Valastro of Port Neches; sister, Katie Crooks of Orange; brothers, Bobby Kelly of Mauriceville, John Wayne Kelly of Miron, Robert Kelly of Woodville, Rubin F. Kelly of Phoenix, Ariz., and William Kelly Jr. of Louisiana; sisters, Dorothy Soileau of Jennings, La., and Louise Walter of Vinton; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pauline Brackin Marcontell

Pauline Brackin Marcontell, 90, of Thicket died July 3, 2001, at her residence.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Broussard’s in Kountze with burial at Felps Cemetery in Thicket.

A native and longtime resident of Thicket, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, J.D. "Son" Marcontell of Elkhart; son, J.L. Brackin of Thicket; daughters, Joyce Marie West of Ragley, La., and Susie Davis of Mont Belvieu; sisters, Ruby Stanfield of Woodville and Juanita Guidry of Beaumont; brother, Clyde Musgrove of Livingston; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
