Dennis Emanuel

Dennis Emanuel, 84, of Hemphill died June 25, 2001, at Shelby Regional Medical Center in Center.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Cemetery in Hemphill under the direction of Percy Garner & Son Mortuary in San Augustine. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A lifelong resident of Hemphill, he was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Emanuel of Hemphill.

Will Farha

Will Farha, 46, of Houston died June 27, 2001, at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church under the direction of Broussard’s on McFaddin. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Beaumont, he lived in Houston for many years and was a commercial realtor.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Ashy Farha of Beaumont; and brother, Gerald William Farha of Beaumont.

Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Ave., Beaumont, Texas, 77702 or Methodist Hospital, Will Farha Memorial Fund, Cell and Gene Therapy Department, 6565 Fannin, Mail Station 964, Houston, Texas 77030.

Reba L. Hallmark

Reba L. Hallmark, 91, of Port Arthur died June 27, 2001, at Park Central Nursing Home.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves with burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Groverton, she lived in Port Acres for many years and was a retired Hallmark Cleaners seamstress.

Survivors include her son, Waymon Hallmark of Port Arthur; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Frank Allen Hilburn

Frank Allen Hilburn, 84, of Sour Lake died June 27, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Private graveside service will be held Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

A native of Edgar, he lived in Sour Lake, was a pharmacist and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, May Hilburn of Sour Lake; son, Kent Hilburn of Spring; sister, Gladys Roberts of Beaumont; and grandson, Phillip Hilburn of Spring.

Rosa L. Himmel

Rosa L. Himmel, 96, of Jasper died June 27, 2001.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Jasper with graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Port Arthur under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native and longtime resident of Port Arthur, she lived in Jasper for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean Lindsey of Jasper; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, P.O. Box 239, Jasper, Texas 75951 or Lakes Area Hospice, 254 Ethel, Jasper, Texas 75951.

Robert Eugene Jordan

Robert Eugene Jordan, 72, of Port Arthur died June 26, 2001, at Park Place Medical Center.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Elvins, Mo., he lived in Port Arthur for most of his life, was a retired pipefitter and welder and was a World War II U.S. Marines veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Blanch Jordan of Port Arthur; daughters, Charlene Akers of Port Arthur, Claudine Lea Clark of Lockhart, and Colleen Ellis and Cathleen Ree Frasier, both of Groves; sons, Robert Jordan Jr. of Beaumont, and Donald Jordan and Allan Dee Jordan, both of Port Arthur; brothers, Walter Lee Jordan and Richard Surritt, both of California; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church Scholarship Fund in Groves.

Millard Mallet

Millard Mallet, 84, of Dallas died June 27, 2001, at his residence.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church under the direction of Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Welsh, La., and a longtime resident of Beaumont, he lived in Dallas for 10 years and was a retired rice farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Mallet of Dallas; daughter, Aubrey Merolla; brother, Nelson Mallet of Lake Charles, La.; sister, Jean Soilo of Lake Charles; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Eleanor G. McMillon

Eleanor G. McMillon, 90, of Jasper died June 26, 2001, at Lufkin Memorial Hospital in Lufkin.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper with private graveside services at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Lufkin. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.

A native of Chireno and a resident of Lufkin for 65 years, she lived in Jasper for four years.

Survivors include her son, William H. "Bill" McMillon Jr. of Jasper; grandson, Mitch McMillon of Jasper; and three great-grandsons, Charlie McMillon, John McMillon and Henry McMillon, all of Jasper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Building Fund, Rt. 7, Box 137, Jasper, Texas 5951.

Fernandez Paul ‘Teta’ Metoyer

Fernandez Paul "Teta" Metoyer, 56, of Houston died June 26, 2001, at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home in Port Arthur. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A native of LeBeau, La., he lived in Port Arthur for most of his life, was a United States Postal Service employee and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his brother, Joseph Metoyer; and sisters, Sharon K. Metoyer-Malveaux and Sandra Metoyer-Malveaux. All survivors are of Port Arthur.

Odie Lee Middleton

Odie Lee Middleton, 66, of Vidor died June 26, 2001, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Meadville, Miss., she lived in Vidor for 48 years and was a cashier for a convenience store.

Survivors include her daughter, Catherine McCarver of Vidor; sisters, Lorine Norris and Winnie Maude Montgomery, both of Meadville, Miss.; and one grandchild.

Titus B. Miles

Titus B. Miles, 86, of Beaumont died June 25, 2001, at Spring Creek Manor.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Community Funeral Chapel on Irma Street with burial at Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a .m. Friday at the funeral chapel.

A native of Mansfield, La., he lived in Beaumont for many years and was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include his wife, Aline Miles of Beaumont; sons, Titus Briscoe Jackson Sr. of Beaumont and Kenneth Calvin of Ohio; sister, Earlie V. Miles Bluitt of Beaumont; and four grandchildren.

Taylor Gray Norris

Taylor Gray Norris, infant daughter of Joseph Norris and Sandra Ximenex died June 24, 2001, at Pasadena Bayshore Medical Center Hospital in Pasadena.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens Cemetery in Cleveland under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Survivors other than parents include, sister, Brook Emile Norris; grandparents; and great-grandparents.

Cornelius ‘Neal’ Myers Phelan Jr.

Cornelius "Neal" Myers Phelan Jr., 85, of Beaumont died June 27, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Church with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of L.M. Williams and Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday with a wake at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native of Charlotte, N.C., he lived in Beaumont most of his life, was the retired Phelan Hearing Center owner and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Natalie Phelan of Beaumont; daughters, Camille Sykes of Beaumont, Sheila Winans of Plano and Denise Leonhardt of New Braunfels; sons, Jim Phelan, Michael Phelan and Cornell Phelan, all of Beaumont, and Tom Phelan of Dayton; sisters, Donia Caspersen, Nan Mangum and Pat Gayle, all of Houston, and Polly Keen of Henderson, Nev.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Some Other Place or Catholic Charities.

R.C. Rigsby

R.C. Rigsby, 67, of Colmesneil died June 22, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Hill Community Cemetery in Colmesneil under the direction of Coleman’s Tyler County Funeral Home in Woodville.

A native and longtime resident of Colmesneil, he was a logger.

Survivors include his sister, Arebella Knight of Colmesneil.

Loretta Erle Hayes Scott

Loretta Erle Hayes Scott, 78, of Lumberton died June 26, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Broussard’s on Major Drive. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Starks, La., she lived in Beaumont for many years before moving to Lumberton and was a Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. operator.

Survivors include daughters, Claudia Hayes Smith of Austin and Samette Hayes and Stacey Mallette Downing, both of Lumberton; sister, Faye Edwards of Vidor; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
