John Earl Olivier, 59, of Beaumont died June 24, 2001, in Beaumont.

Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

A native of Arnaudville, La., he lived in Beaumont and was a railroad clerk.

Survivors include his wife, Janiece Olivier of Beaumont; daughter, Scarlett Kacer of Bay City; brothers, C.V. Olivier of Melville, La., Larry Olivier of South Vienna, Ohio, and Donald Olivier of Vidor; sisters, Margie Broussard of Lake Charles, La., Loycie Marks of Arnaudville and Jessie Savoie of Vidor; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor.

Mary T. Patton

Mary T. Patton, 87, of Dayton died June 23, 2001, in Cotopaxi, Colo.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton with burial at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native and longtime resident of Dayton, she lived in Cotopaxi two years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include great-niece, Rhonda Shafer; and great-great-nieces, Rhianna Shafer and Lydia Shafer. All are from Cotopaxi.

Herman S. ‘Jack’ Powell

Herman S. "Jack" Powell, 80, of Beaumont died June 25, 2001, at his residence.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with graveside service at noon at Kirbyville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Kirbyville, he lived in Beaumont and was a retired heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Powell of Lumberton; and brother, Clifford Powell of Hardin.

Memorials may be made to North End Baptist Church Building Fund.

Mildred Price

Mildred Price, 83, of Port Arthur died June 26, 2001, at her residence.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A native of Boone County, Ind., she lived in Port Arthur and was a homemaker.

Survivors include daughters, Carol Buss of Port Arthur and Joan Presley of El Paso; sisters, Maxine Sloane of Westmoreland, Tenn., and Barbara Brown of Tylertown, Miss.; brothers, Dennis Finch of Lebanon, Ind., and Morris Finch of Waynetown, Ind.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Saveria ‘Vera’ Rutledge

Saveria "Vera" Rutledge, 58, of Lumberton died June 25, 2001, at her residence.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hinson Cemetery in Knight, La., under the direction of Broussard’s on McFaddin. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of DeRidder, La., she lived in Lumberton 21 years and was a retired Mobil Chemical laborer.

Survivors include her husband, John Rutledge of Lumberton; son, Edwin Lee Wornell of Lumberton; daughter, Sheila Ann Melder of Warren; brother, Prentice Hinson of DeRidder; sisters, Zennie Thomas of Carthage, Willie "Will" Carr of Beaumont and Myra "Sip" Moses and Ray Ella Self, both of DeRidder; and six grandchildren.

Dimpson ‘Sandy’ White

Dimpson "Sandy" White, 78, of Beaumont died June 24, 2001, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Mortuary with burial at Anthony Cemetery. A quiet hour will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the mortuary.

A native of Center, he lived in Beaumont many years and was a retired construction worker and World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his son, David White Sr. of Beaumont; stepdaughter, Lavada Jones of Texas City; brother, Jack White of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

RONALD I. BERNARD SR.

Ronald I. Bernard Sr., of Port Neches died April 4, 2000 at Golden Triangle Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m.today at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

A native of Goose Creek, he lived in Nederland most of his life and was a B.F. Goodrich production department operator.

Survivors include his daughter, Rachel Ann Walters of Lumberton; son, Ronald I. Bernard Jr. of Monroe, N.C.; brother, Wayne Bernard of Houston; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

ROLAN DANIEL COYLE

Rolan Daniel Coyle, 76, of Beaumont died April 4, 2000 at The Arboretum of Winnie.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Willow Grove Community Church in Joaquin with burial at Willow Grove Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Joaquin, he lived in the Beaumont area 50 years and was a retired diesel mechanic and a World War II U.S. Merchant Marine veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Ginger’’ Coyle of Beaumont; daughters, Connie Crabb of San Marcos, Kitty Boudreaux of West Monroe, La., and Kathy Martin of Fannett; stepsons, Everett Davis of Lumberton, Poley Davis of Beaumont and Phillip Davis of Maine; sisters, Mamie Foley of Carthage and Bea Adams of Conroe; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

DOROTHY PAULINE FOUNTAIN

Dorothy Pauline Fountain, 52, of Zwolle, La., died April 3, 2000 in Pineland.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with burial at Bronson Cemetery in Bronson. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.

A native of Bronson and a former resident of Pineland, she lived in Zwolle 15 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Fountain of Zwolle; mother, Ida Pearl Sirney of Pineland; sons, Byron Fountain and Michael Fountain, both of Zwolle; brothers, Nelford P. Harvey of Zwolle, Dale Ray Harvey of Romero and Everett Harvey of Pineland; and two grandchildren.

HAZEL WALKER HARKINS

Hazel Walker Harkins, 89, of Beaumont died April 3, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with burial at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.

A native of Sour Lake, she lived in Beaumont 12 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Floyd J. Harkins Jr. of Beaumont; daughters, Frances Burrell of Sour Lake, Vivian Stines of Lumberton and Kay Adams of Houston; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

STEPHEN HARRIS

Stephen Harris, 93, of Beaumont died April 1, 2000 at Summit Hospital in Lake Charles, La.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Baptist Church with burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Chapel on Irma Avenue. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A native of Cheneyville, La., he lived in Beaumont 75 years and was a retired Central Freight Lines laborer.

Survivors include his stepson, Leroy Moore of Port Arthur; sisters, Beaulah Horne of Beaumont and Matteal Landry of Houston; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

EMMA J. JOHNSON

Emma J. Johnson, 89, of Nederland died April 3, 2000 at Mid-Jefferson Hospital.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland with burial at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A native of Van Zandt County, she lived in Nederland many years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Katrina Cook of Nederland; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

WILMA MARIE JOHNSON

Wilma Marie Johnson, 90, of Port Neches died April 3, 2000 at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native of Port Arthur, she lived in the Groves area 70 years and was a piano teacher.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar Johnson of Port Neches; daughter, Kathy Flores of Port Neches; sons, Larry Johnson and Michael Johnson, both of Houston; sister, Marjorie Wasssenbuger of Rushville, Neb.; and seven grandchildren.

ROBERT ‘BOB’ LAND

Robert "Bob’’ Land, 71, of Dayton died April 2, 2000 at Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton with a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Baytown. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.

A native of Port Arthur, he lived in Dayton 11 years and was a retired civil engineer.

Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Land of Dayton; sons, Tim Land of LaPorte and Vincent Casto of Thornton; brothers, Raymond Land, Mike Land, Tommy Land and David Land; sisters, Julia Hanks, Lillie Vannantgen and Judy Byrd; and eight grandchildren.

MARY BELLE MYLES

Mary Belle Myles, 75, of El Vista died March 31, 2000 at Mid-Jefferson Hospital in Nederland.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stonegate Church of Christ in Nederland with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home in Port Arthur. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A native of Port Arthur, she lived in Chicago before moving back to the Port Arthur-El Vista area.

Survivors include sons, Bernard Lee Johnson Sr. of Port Arthur and Terrell Glenn Johnson of Beaumont; sister, Jessie Mae Sias of Port Arthur; and four grandchildren.
