Jack Ross Teal, 75, of Deweyville died May 19, 2000 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at King Cemetery in Hartburg under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Orange, he was a longtime resident of Deweyville and was a former Newton County Precinct No. 4 Constable.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Dee McCall Teal of Deweyville; sons, Ross Teal and Robert Teal, both of Deweyville; daughters, Mildred Broussard of Deweyville, Kathie Johnson and Geraldine Whiddon, both of Bridge City, and Priscilla Teal of Mobile, Ala.; brothers, Charles Teal of Oklahoma, Lloyd Teal of Deweyville and Floyd Teal and Jesse "Joe" Teal, both of Orange; sisters, Doris Neland and Bernille Hall, both of Woodville; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
STANLEY VANDERBURG
Stanley Vanderburg, 73, of Orange died May 20, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., he lived in the Port Arthur-Orange area many years and was a retired DuPont maintenance supervisor. He was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Stephenson Vanderburg of Orange; sons, Van Vanderburg of Port Neches and John R. Ray of Orange; daughters, Lynda Gayle Smith of Orange and Cheryl Dean Manning of Plano; sister, Gertrude deBoer of Woodville; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ellis Ford Brooks
Ellis Ford Brooks, 78, of Wiergate died Oct. 16, 2000, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Wiergate with burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Coleman’s Mortuary in Jasper. A wake will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary in Newton.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Wiergate.
Survivors include sisters, Sammie Lee Garvin of Jasper and Ora Lee Ross of Jamestown.
Boretha Cormier
Boretha Cormier, 94, of Beaumont died Oct. 14, 2000, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church with entombment at Live Oak Mausoleum under the direction of Community Funeral Chapel on Irma Street. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, continuing at 8 a.m. Saturday to time of service with a rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. at the church.
A native of Jeanerette, La., she lived in Beaumont a number of years and was a St. Anne parish cook.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Perkins of Beaumont; stepdaughter, Joyce Powell of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Charles P. Fertitta
Charles P. Fertitta, 76, of Beaumont died Oct. 18, 2000, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont. A Christian vigil will be at 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.
A lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was a retired Sun Oil surveyor and a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ray A. Fertitta of Beaumont; daughters, Donna A. Graham of Lumberton and Denise A. Foley of Beaumont; sons, Ronald J. Fertitta of Tucson, Ariz., and Paul Fertitta and Mark E. Fertitta, both of Beaumont; sister, Zula Thompson of Lake Buchanan Dam; and four grandchildren.

Hazel McKinney Haynes, 86, of Kountze died Oct. 16, 2000, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

A native of Nona, she lived in the Kountze area most of her life.
Survivors include daughters, Mildred Adams, Aretha McNeal and Sharon Lee, all of Kountze; sons, Freddie B. Haynes and Ollie James Haynes, both of Kountze, and Oscar Lee Haynes of Silsbee; 35 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A native of Port Neches, she lived in Groves 20 years and was a retired Port Arthur office manager.

Walter Lee Irwin Sr., 90, of San Antonio died Oct. 18, 2000, in San Antonio.

A native of Antlers, Okla., he lived in Winnie many years before moving to San Antonio and was a retired Gulf Oil fuel gauger.

Curtis Ray Lenard, 49, of Beaumont died Oct. 15, 2000.

Mildred Foreman Lorden, 66, of Lake Charles, La., died Oct. 14, 2000, in a South Carolina hospital.
Funeral was 7 p.m. Thursday at Fondel Memorial Chapel in Lake Charles with burial at a later date.
She was a native of Lake Charles.

Arthur A. Miller Jr., 86, of Jasper died Oct. 18, 2000, at Jasper Convalescent Center.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Newton City Cemetery in Newton. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Jasper under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Newton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Lufkin, he lived in Newton 10 years before moving to Jasper 45 years ago. He was a retired veterinarian and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Dell Miller of Jasper; sons, Robert Miller of Dallas, Sam Miller of Houston and Arthur A. Miller III of Humble; daughters, Mary Adele Hamilton of Jasper and Laura Jordan of Austin; seven grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

A native of Lake Charles, she lived in Iowa most of her life.

Ken Scheu, 69, of Orange died Oct. 18, 2000, at his residence.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A Christian wake service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native and former resident of Hannibal, Mo., he lived in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Quincy, Ill., before moving to Orange 18 years ago. He was a retired Little Cypress High School teacher who coached seventh and eighth grades girl’s basketball and high school football. He also was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Scheu of Orange; daughter, Suzan M. Boyd of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; sons, K.C. Scheu of Tunica, Miss., Terrance Scheu of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Steven Scheu of New Orleans; sisters, Janine Koch of Austin and Maureen Gaynor of the Chicago area; and three grandchildren.

A native of White Castle, La., he lived in Port Arthur 51 years before moving to Houston seven years ago. He was retired from Texaco Chemical and was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Theriot of Houston; son, John Royce Theriot of Houston; and two grandchildren.
