A native of Walker, La., and a former longtime resident of Port Arthur, she lived in Fort Worth seven years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, Edward Turner of League City and Max Turner of Santa Fe, N.M.; daughter, Zemly Turner of Fort Worth; brother, Redrick Courtney of Walker; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Scottie Gene Ward
Scottie Gene Ward, 47, of Vidor died Oct. 18, 2000, at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor with burial at Eaves Cemetery in Gist. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
A native of Ellijay, Ga., he lived in Vidor most of his life and was a Pasadena Tank operator.

Macie "Girlie’’ Whitehead, 85, of Jasper died Oct. 18, 2000, in Jasper.

A lifelong resident of Jasper County, she was a homemaker.

A native of Lisbon, La., she lived in Spring several years.
Survivors include her husband, F.E. "Billy’’ Wicker Jr. of Spring; daughter, Nancy Sanders of DeRidder; son, David Edward Wicker of Spring; sisters, Marguarite Averill and Freida Olive; and one grandchild.

A native of Tuttle, Okla., he lived in Kilgore before moving to Hardin 41 years ago and was a retired Mobil Oil operator.

A native of Washington, La., she lived in Port Arthur 74 years and was a retired Pitt Grill and Kettle night manager.

Arlington Cecil Brown, 73, of Jasper died Oct. 17, 2000, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

A native of Grisby and a longtime resident of Jasper County, he was a retired electrician and World War II U.S. Army veteran.

A native of Cokedale, Colo., she lived in the Port Arthur area most of her life and was retired from a Gulf Oil Corp. testing lab.
