BEVERLY RAGONA ‘TONI’ MANASCO

Beverly Ragona "Toni" Manasco, 67, of Orange died Oct. 16, 2000, at her residence.

Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A native of San Francisco, Calif., she lived in Orange many years and was a retired Little Cypress High School assistant cafeteria manager.

Survivors include daughters, Donna Gregory and Cindy Campbell, both of Orange; sons, Roy Wayne Manasco of Orange and Stan Manasco of Mauriceville; sisters, Marian Wynn of Redding, Calif., and Sue Baxter of Washington; brothers, Robert Ragona of Gilroy, Calif., and Ron Ragona of Las Vegas, Nev.; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

RONALD PAUL MONSON

Ronald Paul Monson, 52, of Vidor died Oct. 16, 2000, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor with burial at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Port Arthur, he lived in Vidor 24 years and was a laborer at North Star Steel in Vidor. He was also a Vietname War U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his mother, Reona Hughes of Independence, La.; wife, Ruby Monson of Vidor; son, Tracy Paul Monson of Vidor; daughter, Heather Dawn Monson of Vidor; brothers, Melvin Monson of Independence, Donald Monson of Buna and Bobby Monson of Port Arthur; and one grandchild.

GEORGE JUNIOR MOORE

George Junior Moore, 77, of Vidor died Oct. 15, 2000, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Many, La., with burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Many under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native of Many, he lived in Vidor 40 years and was a retired self-employed pattern maker. He was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Moore of Vidor; sons, Jessie Moore of Orange and George Lamar Moore of Vidor; daughter, Linda McGuire of Lumberton; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

RUTH EMILY MOORE

Ruth Emily Moore, 87, of Beaumont died Oct. 15, 2000, at her residence.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont.

A native of Troup, she lived in Beaumont 50 years and was a retired South Park Independent School District art teacher.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Mamie McFaddin-Ward Cancer Treatment Center, 690 N. 14th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702.

FREDERICK W. ‘FREDDIE’ OTTER JR.

Frederick W. "Freddie" Otter Jr., 83, of Anahuac died Oct. 15, 2000, at Anahuac Healthcare Center.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Anahuac with burial at Anahuac Cemetery under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.

A longtime resident of the Anahuac area, he was a retired Anahuac Towing and Shell dragline operator.

Survivors include his wife, Myrth Kimbell Otter of Anahuac; son, Ricky Otter of Anahuac; and daughter, Sherry Lou Otter of Boerne.

ALFRED ‘NUTE’ PAYNE SR.

Alfred "Nute’’ Payne Sr., 81, of Beaumont died Oct. 13 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial at Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Calvary Mortuary. A quiet hour will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday with a rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

A native of LaBeau, La., he lived in Beaumont 54 years and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Ida Payne of Beaumont; sons, Alfred Payne Jr., and Kenneth Ray Payne, both of Beaumont; daughters, Ruth Ann Riley and Violet Marie Harris, both of Flint, Mich., Rose Mary Landry and Brenda Fay Williams, both of Beaumont, Elsie Mae Broussard of Kileen and Carolyn Sue Foster of Spokane, Wash.; sisters, Cecilia Woods of Beaumont, Sister Maddalena Marie Payne of New Orleans, and Gladys Alexander of Crosby; brothers, Sylvester Payne and Lawrence Payne Sr., both of Beaumont; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

JAMES M. ROUTLEDGE

James H. Routledge, 64, of Port Neches died Oct. 13, 2000, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

A native of Montgomery, Ala., he lived in Port Neches most of his life and was a heavy equipment diesel mechanic. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his friends.

DAVID LEON SANDERS

David Leon Sanders, 44, of Silsbee died Oct. 15, 2000, in Silsbee.

Cremation will be handled by Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.

A native of Houston, he lived in Silsbee many years and was a building contractor.

Survivors include his son, Shawn David Sanders of California; daughter, Candis Chennel Sanders of California; parents, Roy L. Sanders of Beaumont and Sylvia Pinkel of Houston; brother, Roy Douglas Sanders of New Waverly; and sisters, Madaine Carol Trull of Magnolia, Helen Dulina Sanders of Leander, and Sheila Janelle Sanders and Sandra Elaine Pitto, both of Houston.

MARY ALICE SKIPPER

Mary Alice Skipper, 91, of San Augustine died Oct. 15, 2000, in San Augustine.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine with burial at Old Salem Cemetery in Shelby County.

A longtime resident of San Augustine, she was a retired school teacher.

Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Skipper of Texas City; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

EDNA E. SONNIER

Edna E. Sonnier, 80, of Baytown died Oct. 15, 2000, in a Clear Lake Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown with burial at Cedacrest Cemetery in Baytown. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A former resident of Lumberton, she lived in Baytown 14 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Sonnier of Baytown; sons, Craig Sonnier of Georgetown, Jerry Sonnier of Friendswood and David Sonnier of Silsbee; three granddaughters; seven grandsons.

BULAR SPENCER

Bular Spencer, 82, of Hemphill died Oct. 13, 2000, at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Hemphill with burial at Macedonia Cemetery in Hemphill under the direction of Percy Garner and Son Mortuary in San Augustine. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. at the mortuary.

A native of Louisiana, she lived in Hemphill many years.

Survivors include her sisters, Gracie Spencer and Edna Spencer, both of Hemphill.

GLENNA MAE SULLIVAN

Glenna Mae Sullivan, 63, of Liberty died Oct. 16, 2000, at her residence.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty with burial at Concord Cemetery in Rye. Visitation will be from 5 to 9:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Kingsville, she lived in Hull and Liberty and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Sullivan of Liberty; mother, Gracie Lee Andrews; and sister, Dora Harrington.

HELEN TURNER WEEKS

Helen Turner Weeks, 85, of Taylor died Oct. 14, 2000, at the home of her daughter in Taylor.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston with burial at Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Livingston , she lived in Taylor many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Weeks-Griswold of Taylor; brother, Wilson Turner; one granddaughter, and one great-grandson.

INA BETAR

Ina Betar, 79, of Port Arthur died Aug. 30, 2000 at a private Groves health care facility.

Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Leesville, La., she lived in Port Arthur 55 years.

Survivors include sons, Charles Deriso of Sweeny, Lloyd Betar Jr. of Beaumont and Richard Betar of Port Arthur; brothers, Lee Franklin of Sweetwater, James "Fitz" Franklin of Odessa and J.D. Franklin of Lake City; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

BOBBIE LEE ADAMS BUCKLEY

Bobbie Lee Adams Buckley, 35, of Geneva died Aug. 28, 2000 at Nacogdoches Medical Center in Nacogdoches.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Grove Baptist Church in San Augustine with burial at Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Percy Garner & Son Mortuary in San Augustine. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.

She was a native and longtime resident of Sabine County.

Survivors include sons, Charles William Buckley Jr. and Kethan Buckley, both of Geneva; sisters, Janie Berry of Nacogdoches, Mary Adams of San Augustine and Bobbie Ann Adams of Dallas; and brothers, James Earl Adams of Hemphill and James Ray Adams of San Augustine.
