THAMAGE ‘TIM’ BYARS

Thamage "Tim" Byars, 33, of Lake Charles, La., died Aug. 29, 2000 at his residence.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fondel Memorial Chapel in Jennings, La., with burial at Parkview Cemetery in Jennings. A wake will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Lake Charles, and former resident of Jennings, he lived in Lake Charles many years and was an automobile dealer.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Evans Byars of Lake Charles; daughters, Marthasue Evans of Kinder, La., and Carveshia Byars of Lake Charles; son, Ahamaud Austin of Austin; brothers, Clifton Anderson of Alaska, Trelius Anderson of Slidell, La., Arthur Johnson and Arthur Ethridge, both of Jennings; sisters, Sandra Coleman of North Carolina and Shawana Jones of LaPlouche, La.; mother, Martha Pattum Guillory of Lake Charles; stepfather, Gene Guillory of Lake Charles; and grandmother, Stella Ethridge of Jennings.

CAROL CARAWAY

Carol Caraway, 47, of Winnie died Aug. 31, 2000 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Winnie with burial at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Winnie. Visitation will begin at noon today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the mortuary.

A native and longtime resident of Winnie, she was a Gulf Coast Bank loan secretary.

Survivors include her parents, Loraine and Ernest LeBouff of Winnie; husband, Bob Caraway of Winnie; son, Aaron R. Godeaux of China; stepson, Victor Caraway of Castle Rock, Colo.; brother, Harry LeBouff of Silsbee; and sister, Kathleen Green of Liberty.

JAMES EVANS

James Evans, 65, of Galveston died Aug. 28, 2000 at his residence.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary in Galveston with burial at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Proctor’s Mortuary in Beaumont. A wake will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the family mortuary.

A lifelong resident of Galveston, he was a longshoreman.

Survivors include daughters, Jamie Evans, Tarnicsha Evans and Andrea Evans, all of Houston; sons, Bernard Evans, James Evans and Andrew Evans, all of Beaumont; and sisters, Mary Jane Evans Darnell and Jerri Stone, both of Galveston.

TERESA ‘BILLIE’ FORET

Teresa "Billie" Foret, 86, of Groves died Aug. 31, 2000 at her residence.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A vigil will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Houston, she lived in the Groves and Port Arthur areas 67 years.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

JAMES McCULLEN FOY

James McCullen Foy, 45, of Liberty died Aug. 29, 2000 in Saratoga.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakshade Cemetery in Cleveland under the direction of Allison Funeral Service in Liberty.

A lifelong resident of Liberty, he was a Camel Well Service roughneck.

Survivors include his wife, Lory Lynn Garner Foy of Liberty; son, James A. Garner of Liberty; mother, Rose Littlefield of Russellville, Ark.; brother, Larry E. Foy of Arkansas; and sisters, Maggie Stevenson of Florida and Donna Roger and Catherine Ross, both of Texas.

CHARLES JAMES GALLAGHER SR.

Charles James Gallagher Sr., 68, of Port Neches died Aug. 31, 2000 at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pat A. Riley Funeral Home in Nederland with burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Boston, Mass., he lived in the Port Neches and Nederland areas 36 years and was a retired Seafarers International engineer.

Survivors include sons, Henry Dale Gallagher of Houston, Michael James Gallagher of Port Neches, Charles James Gallagher Jr. of Katy and Patrick Daniel Gallagher of Nederland; daughter, Kathleen Gallagher of Port Neches; and seven grandchildren.

ROBERT EARL GORE

Robert Earl Gore, 54, of Woodville died Aug. 30, 2000 at his residence.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.

A native of Fred, he lived in Woodville six years and was a driller.

Survivors include parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Gore of Woodville; daughter, Bonnie Sue Owens of Silsbee and Robin McGallion of Toledo Bend; son, David Lott of Silsbee; brother, Melvin Gore of Fred; sister, Betty Ard of Silsbee; and eight grandchildren.

BEATRICE ‘B’ FONTENOT GUILLORY

Beatrice "B" Fontenot Guillory, 43, of Lake Charles, La., died Aug. 28, 2000 at St. Patrick Hospital.

Funeral will be at 7 p.m. today at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Charles with burial at Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel in Lake Charles. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service today at the church.

A native of Lafayette, La., she lived in Lake Charles most of her life.

Survivors include her daughter, Shonika Fontenot of Lake Charles; sons, Dedrick Fontenot and Marlon Fontenot, both of Lake Charles; sisters, Barbara Edwards and Angelia Redmond, both of Lake Charles, Ella Frank of Beaumont and Rosalind Young of Abbeville, La.; Daniel Wayne Fontenot and Ricky Anthony Fontenot, both of Lake Charles; parents, Daniel and Ethel Fontenot of Lake Charles; grandfather, Yves Wilson of Ville Platte, La.; and three grandchildren.

WEBSTER DANIEL HUBENAK

Webster Daniel Hubenak, 72, of Beaumont died Aug. 30, 2000 at his residence.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native of Pierce, he lived in Beaumont many years and was a retired Texas Gulf truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Hubenak of Beaumont; mother, Annie Hubenak of El Campo; sons, Dennis Olbrych of Sulphur, La., and Floyd Olbrych of Beaumont; brother, Jerome Hubenak of Corpus Christi; sister, Elsie Guess of El Campo; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

EMMA LEE HUNTER

Emma Lee Hunter, 75, of Jasper died Aug. 25, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lone Star District Church in Jasper with burial at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Coleman’s Mortuary in Jasper. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Jasper.

Survivors include her sons, Billy Hunter Jr. and Thomas Lloyd Hunter, both of Jasper; daughters, Hazel Twine of Newton, Jacqualine H. Holmes and Charlotte Hunter, both of Jasper; brother, Elijah Breed of Beaumont; sister, Hazel Houston of Seattle, Wash.; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

ROSE B. LEVY

Rose B. Levy, 76,of Los Angeles died Aug. 22, 2000 in Los Angeles.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Funeral Chapel on Irma Avenue.

A native of Beaumont, she lived in Los Angeles many years and was a retired schoolteacher.

Survivors include her sister, Mary B. Levy Francis of Beaumont; and nieces and nephews.

THOMAS MORGAN

Thomas Morgan, 68, of Jasper died Aug. 31, 2000 at Jasper Convalescent Center.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper with burial at Homer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Erin, he lived in the Jasper area most of his life and was owner of Morgan’s Grocery. He was a retired Texas Highway Department Tech 4 and a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Evelyn Aarant of Jasper; wife, Mary Jane Morgan of Jasper; daughters, Mary Catherine Davis, Martha Nell Wilson and Tressy Morgan, all of Jasper; brother, Wilmer Morgan of Silsbee; sisters, Wanda Morgan of Nacogdoches and Teressa Bailey of Jasper; and five grandchildren.

MARY LOUISE KENDRICK MOSELEY

Mary Louise Kendrick Moseley, 72, of Beaumont died Aug. 20, 2000 at Pine Arbor Nursing Home in Silsbee.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont.

A native of Glendale, Ariz., she lived in Beaumont more than 30 years.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Bob Moseley of Beaumont; son, Neil Alan Kendrick of Albany, N.Y.; daughters, Icel Anne Kendrick of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ana Beth Kendrick of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jean Kendrick Garza of Beaumont; sisters, Bertha Winterstein of White Bear Lake, Minn., and Janet Schneider of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

SUSANNE TOHILL PENNY

Susanne Tohill Penny, 34, of El Reno, Okla., died Aug. 28, 2000 in North Brunswick, N.J.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy, La., with burial at Alston Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Longview and a former resident of Orange and DeQuincy, she lived in El Reno, Okla., four years and was a respiratory therapist. She was also Penny & Sons Rodeo Co. secretary.

Survivors include her husband, James Scott Penny of El Reno; son, Copper James Penny of El Reno; parents, Trish Ann and Dan Peck of El Reno and Butch and Mona Tohill of Freeport; sister, Pattie Kitchel of El Reno; stepsister, Heaven Ruiz of Lancaster, Calif.; grandparents, Lillian Tohill of Omaha, Dena Mae Kirby of Deweyville and Al and Marge Peck of Burnet; and great-grandmother, Grandma Penny of DeQuincy.

BUEL PENROD

Buel Penrod, 83, of Lufkin died Aug. 30, 2000 at Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Pickard Cemetery in San Augustine under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine.

A longtime resident of Lufkin, he was a self-employed farmer and a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his sister, Lorell Sullivan of Hull; and nieces and nephews.
